Qrow and Tai were sitting at the house in patch, since they were leaving for a mission in the morning they decided to relax for a bit. It was just them in the house, Tai had mailed Zwei to go stay with the girls while he and Qrow were going out on a mission. Secretly, Tai had been hoping that Zwei would serve as a catalyst in getting Ruby and Yang on better terms, but even he knew that was most likely wishful thinking.

Tai hated that his girls were not getting along, considering they had been so close throughout the years. Even though Ruby found out that Qrow was actually her father, that did not stop Tai from viewing her as his daughter. He loved her as much as he loved Yang, and he wanted her to be happy and safe no matter what. That is why he hated that she was adamant about being in that unit, it sounded so dangerous, and he didn't want her to get hurt. He didn't want to cause anymore strain with her though, so he left it be for the time being.

Going back to what was happening between Ruby and Yang, Tai could not help but feel angry every time he thought about it. He blamed Yang for starting this whole mess, talking bad about Ruby behind her back and ditching her multiple times was completely unacceptable. No one liked to feel left out of the group, and it was clear that Ruby had enough of it, hence her behavior change. Also, Tai must have had amnesia because he could've sworn that Ruby told Yang that she should go out with her friends and that she didn't have to stay with her when they were back at Patch.

It would be different if Yang and her friends went out without Ruby occasionally, but to do it every week was something else entirely. It would make anyone feel unwanted, which is clearly what Ruby had been feeling until she just got tired of it and moved on. Clearly it was working for her, she found new friends and she enjoyed being with them more than Yang and her team. Yang finally figured out that what she and her friends did was wrong, but it seemed to be too late.

Though he was angry with his daughter, he was just as angry with his niece Ruby. It still hurt him that she wasn't going to call him Dad anymore, but at least she still loved him all the same. He knew that Ruby was angry at Yang and the others and rightfully so, but she was taking things too far in her opinion. Not talking to them is one thing, but joining a dangerous unit in Atlas as a first year just to get away from them? How could Ruby do something so irresponsible?

Even though Qrow told him that she was doing fine and that her unit had been successful in getting rapid results, Tai could not help but feel worried. He knew that Ruby was incredibly skilled but joining a unit with not even a year of experience at Beacon was dangerous. All Tai wanted was for Ruby to be safe and he felt like leaving the unit would accomplish that. Tai knew she wouldn't though, hell Ruby hasn't even bothered to talk to him since their first conversation the night she got to Atlas.

It seemed that Ruby really was going to stay in that unit for as long as they would let her. That was one of the most admirable things about Ruby, she always saw things through. Still, Tai wished that General Ironwood and whoever ran that unit met with the children's parents before accepting them into that unit. Then again the kids were huntsman in training so they should know how to defend themselves, but Tai thought it was still too dangerous to have those kids included in the military.

Back to Ruby though, he understood why she was angry, but wouldn't it be better for everyone if she just got over it? Yang and her friends clearly regretted what happened and wanted to get on better terms with her so why couldn't Ruby just forgive them? Being at Beacon meant that you had to work as a team for the next three years, and Tai felt it would be hard for Team RWBY to do that if they were not on good terms. A voice belonging to Qrow Branwen brought him out of his thoughts.

"She's fine Tai, she is back at Beacon now so you can stop worrying." Qrow said with a roll of his eyes, but Tai just glared at him.

"She is back for now Qrow, but sooner or later she is going to go back to that unit. Why am I the only one who sees how dangerous that is?!" Tai asked angrily.

"Because you worry about everything and you like to coddle the girls, so you see this great opportunity that Ruby has gotten as a disaster and a plague. For God's sake Tai, she may be young, but she is talented, and she clearly is helping that unit in whatever they are doing. That unit is for grimm hunting and intelligence gathering, both of which Ruby is good at. So Tai, is it really worth having a heart attack over?" Qrow asked and Tai sighed.

"I don't like it Qrow, I don't like how Ruby has changed and how she has become more independent. I thought it would be at least a couple more years before I had to face that reality. Nor do I like how she has gotten to that sarcastic attitude part of her life, and she has become uncaring. To make matters even worse she and Yang are at odds, and it breaks my heart because they have always been so close. Why did all of the good things just have to change like that?" Tai asked in sadness.

"Tai I am right there with you, but it is what it is, we don't have any say in this spat between them. As much as it pains me to admit it, this all did start with what Yang and her friends had been doing and Ruby just decided that enough was enough. Even though I would love for Ruby to forgive them, it is not going to be that easy for her and to be perfectly honest it shouldn't be. It will take longer for her too, seeing as though she has new friends that seem to like her a lot. All we can do is wait to see how it plays out." Qrow explained but Tai disagreed.

"Oh, come on Qrow! I know that Yang and the others messed up and Ruby has a right to be angry but isn't this a bit excessive? Not talking to them at all and going to a unit in Atlas just so she can get away from them? They know what they did was wrong and all of them seem to be sorry so why can't Ruby just accept their apology and move on?" Tai asked frustrated and Qrow sighed.

"Because Tai, she told me that forgiveness isn't something you do for others, it's something you do for yourself. I didn't agree with her at first but after sleeping on it, I do now. Tai, they may be regretful and apologetic now but it's only because they got caught and are suffering from the consequences. If Ruby never heard them that night she may not have changed so quickly, but Yang and the others definitely would have kept neglecting her. Hell, for all Ruby knows they talk bad about her every time they abandon her and get together. So really Tai, at this moment what reason does she have to forgive them?" Qrow asked and Tai tried to respond but nothing came out of his mouth.

Tai wanted to disagree, but the more Qrow explained it and the more he thought about, he knew Qrow was right. If Ruby never heard Yang or the others that night, she might not have changed but unfortunately he was positive that Ruby's neglect would continue. Who knows, maybe Ruby was already changing, and this just amplified the process. Seeing as though Yang or her friends didn't notice their neglect of Ruby before, Tai doubted that they would notice in the future if this continued.

To make matters worse he figured it would continue because Ruby would just do what was best for the sake of the team. If she called out Yang or the other two about leaving her behind they would get all defensive and a rift would form between them. He didn't know about the other two, but he knew Yang and that is certainly what would happen. The more that Tai thought about it, Ruby and Yang along with their two teammates would have a rift between them no matter what, both sides angry with the other.

"Fine alright, you have a point but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I just want the girls to be safe and I want them to get along, is that so much to ask?" Tai asked sadly.

"Right now it is, they are going to be safe so quit being overdramatic. Both are very skilled, and it seems that Ruby has gone to another level all on her own, isn't that what we wanted? And while Yang might be a bit reckless, our firecracker is still as tough as nails. They don't get along right now but who knows that could change in the future. But if we go to Ruby and complain and yell at her to make with Yang and their friends, she's going to give us the cold shoulder too. We need to just be patient alright? Everything will be fine." Qrow assured his brother-in-law as he scroll rang.

"Is that one of the girls?" Tai asked hopeful but Qrow shook his head.

"No, it's James, why would he be calling so late?" Qrow wondered and Tai was confused too but Qrow answered all the same.

"Why are you calling so late Jimmy?" Qrow said annoyed and figured he was about to get scolded for not calling James General.

"We got them, the people that attacked Amber." Ironwood said happily and Qrow's eyes widened to the size of saucers.

"W-what?! What do you mean you got the people that attacked Amber? How long have you even known who they were and who exactly is we? Your army?" Qrow asked shocked and Tai looked confused.

'Who is Amber?' Tai wondered as he saw Qrow looking like he saw a ghost.

"I have known for a few weeks; I apologize but I had to keep it secret so they would not be tipped off by anyone. They happened to be involved with an investigation that the intelligence unit was doing, I am the only one who knows about Amber's true occupation so don't worry. Speaking of which, my army may have put them on the transport to the Atlas, but that group's capture is thanks to your daughter and my other detective. You should be quite proud Qrow." Ironwood said with pride, but Qrow was anything but happy.

"What the hell should I be proud about?! You brought my daughter into this mess, and you didn't even consult me or let me know? What the hell James?! Ruby isn't hurt or anything is she?" Qrow asked worried and heard James chuckle.

"Relax Qrow, Ruby doesn't have a scratch on her neither does Detective Dreyar, the criminals are in way worse shape. Surely you should know that your daughter is not made out of glass, and I didn't let you know because of what I already told you. They were running an investigation and we luckily found out who that group was because of it. It wasn't a coincidence either, that group, Roman Torchwick, and the White Fang are all connected and with that group's arrest tonight a decisive blow has been made." Ironwood said with a smile, but Qrow still wasn't smiling.

"Alright James, I want a full explanation of what the hell is going on and I want it now. You said that Intelligence Unit was only for grimm hunting and intelligence gathering, the basic stuff. So please explain to me why you allowed a bunch of students, including my daughter of all people, to be involved with taking down these criminals. That sounds like a lot more than what you said that unit would be doing, more dangerous as well. So what do you have to say?" Qrow asked angrily.

"Very well, seeing as though that group are in cells in the prison I am confident that our conversation will not be overheard. I will tell you about the investigation the Intelligence Unit is running, and how what was supposed to be a simple mission turned into one of the utmost importance." Ironwood said seriously and Qrow used all of his energy to listen, ignoring Tai's questions.

Qrow listened to Ironwood explain how Ruby and her unit were originally tasked with investigating the recent robberies that were happening in Mantle. Ironwood as well as Sindel and Litchi figured they were just some small-time thugs and the kids would be able to handle them no problem. That Sindel woman apparently sent Ruby and this girl named Shauna Vayne down to Mantle to investigate. They came back with the information that Roman Torchwick, the White Fang and some guy he never heard of name Dexter Deshawn were behind this.

James then told him that the original plan was for Ruby and the rest of the unit to find as much information they could that next week and then he would do the rest. That plan changed though when it was reported that a body was found in a rundown location. Sindel called her unit over and no doubt the body belonged to Dexter Deshawn. That Shauna Vayne girl then told them that this Dexter Deshawn had implants in his neurosystem and that it might hold a clue to how he ended up dead.

That honestly freaked Qrow out, he never heard of people implanting technology in their body, but he guessed that some criminals were that paranoid. What really bothered him was that Ruby saw a dead body and she apparently wasn't that traumatized by it. Granted death is something you have to deal with when you are a hunter, but for God's sake she was only sixteen! Maybe she was just putting on a brave face for the unit? He wasn't sure but he would have to call her after this talk with James.

Finally, Ironwood told him that they did indeed find video files in the technology that Deshawn had implanted in his neurosystem. He explained that was how they found about the group who attacked Amber, Ruby had told them that she recognized those three from Glynda's class. Qrow was shocked to learn that the group who attacked Amber were posing as transfer students from Haven, how could no one be wary of them over there?!

Rounding it all up, James finished by telling him that it was indeed the Intelligence Unit who had the idea of keeping this knowledge secret. They didn't want to risk going in there blindly and arresting them, seeing as though Torchwick and the White Fang could find out and disappear. Clearly their plan worked out, and Torchwick and the White Fang were the only ones still on the list. James apologized that he didn't tell Qrow but felt that it was the best way to go about the situation.

Qrow didn't really know how to feel right now, on one hand he was proud of Ruby for doing her best to take down these criminals. On the other hand he was upset at James for allowing children to get involved in this and not leaving it to the licensed hunters and police. But…considering that his daughter and her friend took down these criminals without a scratch on them made him lean more to the proud side. There was one thing that was bugging him though…

"Wow James…that is a lot to tell you the least. One question though, how are you so sure that these are the people that attacked Amber?" Qrow asked.

"Think about it Qrow, we couldn't find any information on those three and our database spreads throughout the kingdom. And instead of hiding with Torchwick or the White Fang they choose to infiltrate Beacon as students. Why would they do that if they were not allied with Salem? Knowing the secrets that we and Beacon itself keep. Not only that, but Ruby also reported that the boy Mercury Black was studying Pyrrha Nikos intensely during a sparring match. Ozpin clarified my suspicion and told me that she was his choice to replace Amber." Ironwood said seriously and Qrow's eyes widened.

"Holy shit…yeah that makes a lot of sense now. Still James, you really think it was the best idea to let a bunch of students handle that? I mean I am grateful that Ruby didn't get hurt this time but what about the next time?" Qrow asked a bit reluctant, and Ironwood sighed.

"You know something Qrow, for those 8 young men and women the word 'student' is just a status. There is not a student alive like those eight, their skill and teamwork in such a short amount of time is remarkable. In two weeks, I and Sindel as well as Litchi have learned much about them, the most important thing being that they don't back down. Even if I wanted to make them stay away, they would find a way to get back in. They have shown they can handle it and they won't know about Salem so there is no reason to worry." Ironwood assured him.

"I want to agree with you James but it's going to take a second before I do. Look I understand why you didn't tell me or Ozpin or Glynda, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Though I guess the most important thing is that Ruby is safe and Amber's attackers were found and caught. Guess this means she won't have to be in the tube anymore which is great. I'll speak to Ruby right after this, thanks for letting me know about what happened tonight James." Qrow said gratefully.

"Of course, Qrow, though may I suggest calling your daughter in the morning? After what happened tonight and considering she is probably getting pounded with questions by her teammates I am guessing she is very tired." Ironwood told him.

"Alright thanks." Qrow said as he hung up the phone and saw Tai looking at him expectantly.

"Well, what happened?!" Tai asked impatiently and Qrow sighed before telling him everything.

After being informed by Qrow of what happened, Tai was feeling a lot of emotions all at once. Pride, fear and anger were the three that stood out the most. He couldn't believe that Ruby and the other detective had taken down a group of terrorists tonight. Yang was at the dance, was Ruby not with her? Though that shouldn't be a surprise to him considering the rift that was between them. Clearly it worked out since instead of dancing she was stopping a criminal from hacking the CCT tower at Beacon.

He was incredibly proud and amazed at Ruby for pulling off a feat such as that but could not help but be afraid for her safety. Though he would admit he could be a bit paranoid, he was afraid that the group of terrorists had friends and now they would know who Ruby was. He couldn't believe that James had that unit track a case that was as important as this one, did he forget that the members were just students?! Or maybe he just had faith in them, clearly it worked out after what happened tonight.

Tai was also angry because this was the nail in the coffin on whether Ruby would listen to him about the unit. After what happened tonight, he knew that Ruby being in that unit was a good thing rather than a bad thing no matter how much he hated to admit it. Qrow was right that Ruby was being a help to her unit, clearly that was proven after tonight. Tai could not help but feel more angry than proud at that moment, why was it every time he just wanted the girls to be safe the opposite happens for the better?

"Tai, you alright?" Qrow asked in a worried tone since his brother-in-law looked distraught.

"Yeah why wouldn't I be? It's just how it always is." Tai said simply but Qrow looked confused.

"Wait, what do you mean?" Qrow asked confused.

"Oh you know, how every time I want something to be done in order to keep the girls safe something else happens for the better. I wanted Ruby out of that unit and because she stayed a group of criminals are now in jail. If she had listened to me or if I tried to force her out of that unit, that group would still be at Beacon doing God knows what. That unit would never have been able to identify those three, they never would have known that they were in Ruby's class." Tai said in a defeated tone.

"Hey Tai, you don't know if that's true-" Qrow tried to say but Tai slammed his hand on the table hard.

"It is true Qrow, and I am sick of being wrong! Hell, I am sick of all of this, my efforts to make things better in these kind of situations turning out to be the worse ones. I told Ruby to try and make up with her team just so she and Yang could talk again, and instead she has focused on herself and become much stronger. I wanted her out of that unit because I felt she would be safer and it would be for the best but nope, she was essential in finding out that group from Haven. Hell, maybe I was wrong about everything, then maybe Raven would have…" Tai tried to say but Qrow interrupted him.

"Don't you dare even go there Tai, Raven made her choice just like you did. Yeah so you were wrong about Ruby leaving the unit, but your heart was in the right place and that is all that matters. Feeling sorry for yourself and beating yourself up isn't going to help anybody. Instead what we need to do is continue to support Ruby, clearly trying to baby her wasn't the right decision. She is aiming to be the best huntress she can be Tai, and the road she is on can be bumpy as we both know, she needs us." Qrow told his brother-in-law who sighed.

"I just want everything to go back to normal Qrow." Tai said simply in a sad tone.

"I know but we can't always get everything we want, we will make it through this though." Qrow said with a smile as they both went to bed to get ready for their mission.

The Next Morning, Team RWBY's dorm.

The members of Team RWBY were still fast asleep in their beds considering that it was 6:30 in the morning. They didn't have to get up for another two hours since the mission debriefing would be at noon, so they were taking advantage of it, Ruby especially. Maybe it was because she was getting older but Ruby had recently found that she liked to sleep more and more. That could be thanks to her work in the unit or God forsaken amount of make-up work that she was thankfully almost done with.

Ruby had also noticed that the more sleep she got, the better she looked and the better she felt about herself. Today however, her beauty sleep was going to be interrupted by her scroll ringing. Ruby woke up and looked around, it seemed to early for her alarm to be going off so who could be calling or messaging her? She knew it couldn't be her friends, none of them were morning people either. Was it Seth calling to tell her he made it home? No it was too early, so who could it be? When she grabbed her scroll and saw what was causing the ringing she immediately groaned.

"Oh, you have GOT to be kidding me…" Ruby grumbled in annoyance.

The message was from Professor Ozpin saying that he and Professor Goodwitch would like to meet with her to discuss what happened last night. Ruby instantly got annoyed because she already knew that Ozpin and Goodwitch grilled the General like hell last night over what happened, so what exactly could she add to the conversation? Did they really think that she had some details that Ironwood had hidden last night? Or were they going to be like her team and yell at her for keeping this a secret?

Ruby didn't know which one was right but figured she might as well go over there now. With her beauty sleep interrupted, Ruby got out of her bed and went to the bathroom without making too much noise so her teammates wouldn't wake up. She had seen what a cranky Weiss and Yang looked like when they were woken up early and she wanted to avoid that as much as possible. She quickly grabbed her clothes from her drawer and then closed the bathroom door.

As she was brushing her teeth Ruby used her scroll to look on the news site and thankfully the arrest she and Seth made was not on the news. It seemed that people really took Ironwood's warning to heart and didn't manage to leak it to the media. That meant that Torchwick and the White Fang had no idea their accomplices were sitting in an Atlas prison. The question now was how were they were going to find them? It's not like Cinder or those other two were going to spill their partners location, so Ruby and the unit would have to think of some new tricks.

The one thing that Ruby hated about her long hair was that she got bed head more often, as compared to when she had short hair and it never happened. Still, she liked her long hair better than her short hair so the bed head could at least be tolerated. As she was brushing her hair, Ruby recalled that she and her team did figure out that Torchwick and the White Fang were operating in the Southeast but that was a couple of months ago.

Still, considering that Cinder and those other two had been at Beacon that whole time, they would need Torchwick and the White Fang to be somewhere they could access quickly. So being in Southeast Vale made a lot of since for Torchwick and the White Fang, but Sindel would want to draw them out instead of going in there guns blazing. It was for that reason Ruby hoped that her team's first mission would not be in Southeast Vale, because if Torchwick and the White Fang showed up her teammates would not use the stealth option.

Although there could be a case where Torchwick and the White Fang could not be in the southeast anymore, so maybe a mission there wouldn't be so bad. What really worried Ruby was if her teammates could behave themselves during the mission. She swore to them that she would be professional even if she didn't like them, but she doubted the feeling was mutual. Ruby figured she would have to take Litchi's advice and assert her dominance as the team leader.

After brushing her hair, Ruby proceeded to go to Professor Ozpin's office and see what he wanted. Before she got out the door, Ruby wrote a note and placed it on the table, telling her teammates that she had some business to take care of and to get ready when they woke up. This way Yang wouldn't go berserk and start smashing things to find out where she was. With that done Ruby put on her sunglasses and made her way to Ozpin's tower.

Ozpin's office:

It was early in the morning but not too early for Professor Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch who were eagerly awaiting their guest. Though General Ironwood gave them a rundown of everything that happened, Ozpin still wanted to hear from Ruby Rose to make sure the facts were the same. Considering that James was hiding the knowledge of that group from Haven who knows what else he could be hiding?

The answer to that question could very well be Detective Ruby Rose, the first-year student at Beacon who played a big role in this apparent investigation. Ruby would certainly answer the questions that Ozpin would ask of her, and if her answers were the same as Ironwood then Ozpin would be able to rest a lot easier. If there was thing that Ozpin hated it was being kept in the dark on things, especially things that were important to Beacon as a whole.

That being said, Ozpin would be lying if he said he wasn't a bit nervous about the upcoming meeting with Miss Rose. She always did what she believed was right not to mention that she was also very obedient. So if James told her to keep some things secret, Ruby would definitely keep them secret and not let Ozpin know. While he would admire her loyalty, he still would make the push so that he could be on the same page as them. The voice of his deputy headmistress interrupted his thoughts.

"Are you sure we should be doing this?" Glynda asked in a worried tone.

"We are just going to talk with the girl Glynda, what is so wrong about that?" Ozpin asked confused.

"Because we are pretty much ambushing her, you realize that right?" Glynda asked incredulously and Ozpin sighed.

"We are not ambushing the girl Glynda we are just going to have her go through the events of when she joined the unit up to last night. It is for a safety precaution after all and we do care about her wellbeing so why are you getting so worked up?" Ozpin asked a little annoyed.

"Alright Professor, that girl went to the unit because she was tired of being looked down upon and underestimated and now I am starting to see it more and more. Miss Rose is SMART Ozpin; she isn't the same little girl from that interrogation room and she's starting to become more independent. She may be Qrow's daughter, but she's also Summer's and she has her problem-solving skills. Hell, she saw Ironwood leave with us last night, so she knows we already talked to him. Now we want to meet with her at the crack of dawn? Do you really believe that she hasn't pieced things together?" Glynda asked with a glare.

Ozpin rubbed his temples in frustration and anxiety as he considered Glynda's words, and he knew she was right. Ruby Rose was changing and though she was still respectful to her superiors he wondered if that would even be enough for this conversation. But Ruby was still aiming to be a huntress right? That meant that she would always do the right thing no matter what, and that is definitely what Summer would have done. But he had to remember that Ruby was her own person, and recently she had been making her own decisions instead of factoring in others.

Still, he had faith that Ruby would still be cooperative and respectful to the man who moved her ahead two years and allowed her to attend Beacon. Certainly she would see him and Professor Goodwitch as the good guys who wanted to help and not the bad guys. Considering that Ruby and that unit didn't seem to play politics and seemed very straightforward he was sure she would be cooperative. Though he did see Glynda's point and did feel a little bad, but this had to be done.

"She still wants to be a huntress Glynda, and she does the right thing, that will never change." Ozpin said seriously and Glynda sighed as the doorbell rang.

"Come in!" Ozpin said as the doors opened to reveal Ruby Rose who had a serious yet annoyed look on her face, but it clearly went away.

"Hello Professor Ozpin and Professor Goodwitch, the two of you called me?" Ruby asked getting straight to the point and both the professors noticed.

"Yes we did, but first things first how are you Miss Rose? That was quite the feat you and that young man pulled off; we thank you for your heroism." Ozpin praised honestly.

"Thank you Professor, in truth I wasn't supposed to wake up for another hour as I timed it to get enough time for me and my team to prepare for our upcoming mission. Not to mention that I have become more reliant on the sleep I get, so please forgive me if I am a bit cranky." Ruby said a bit sheepishly as she ran her hand through her long hair and the professors chuckled.

"That is quite alright Miss Rose, we apologize for having you get up so early to come speak with us. As you might have guessed, we would like to discuss with you about your time in the Intelligence Unit and about this investigation so far." Glynda informed her young student and Ruby raised an eyebrow.

"Did General Ironwood not tell you everything last night?" Ruby asked confused.

"Yes he did, but we would like to hear your side of the story." Ozpin clarified as he and Glynda saw Ruby's eyes narrow.

'She is seeing right through us…' Glynda thought worriedly.

"Well, I am not sure what I can add but if that's really what you want." Ruby said simply as she recalled said events.

Ruby spent the next fifteen minutes recalling to when she first started in the unit all the way to last night, well except for the parts where she and her friends went to parties because they didn't need to know that. Anyway Ruby told her two professors that she and Shauna were tasked with going into Mantle to see if they could find any information on the recent break ins and robberies that had been happening there.

Then she told them that only one store was cooperative, and they identified Roman Torchwick, Dexter Deshawn and an unknown White Fang member as the culprits. Then Ruby told them how they spent the rest of that day trying to find information on that White Fang member, but they ended up with nothing. Then Ruby told them how they found Dexter Deshawn's body and Shauna used Atlas technology to find out that he had implants in his neurosystem.

Ruby then told them that while Deshawn's body was being looked over in the lab, she and Mira went to a bar Deshawn and his lackeys frequented in Mantle. It was there that they found out that Deshawn and his henchmen wanted out of the partnership they had with Torchwick and the White Fang, saying that it had become something too big. They also learned that this White Fang member that they tried so hard to get information on was indeed their age, shocking everyone.

Coming to the end, Ruby informed the two professors that video feed was indeed extracted from the devices in Deshawn's neurosystem. That video was how they found out about the group from Haven, as Ruby recognized them right away from her classes. They also found out what this White Fang member looked like, but they couldn't get any information on them. After watching the video, Ruby told them how the general wanted to arrest the group from Haven immediately, but the Intelligence Unit stopped them.

Ozpin and Glynda were surprised to hear that Ruby and her unit were able to make James do things the quiet way, considering they themselves were never able to do that. Ruby then told them how she was assigned to watch the group from Haven, and she was worried about Pyrrha because she saw Mercury Black studying her in that practice. Finally, Ruby ended with how she and Seth came back from Vale to see the guards near the tower knocked out. They both went to the top and found Cinder, defeated her, and then saw that she was trying to upload some virus.

"I see…well that matches everything that James told us last night." Ozpin said as he had his thumb on his chin.

"Yes Professor the truth is often the same." Ruby said trying her best to keep the annoyance out of her tone, but it seemed like Ozpin caught onto it with the way he narrowed his eyes.

"Yes well, the question that I still have is why did you agree to not come to us about this? Did you really think leaving us in the dark about having terrorists at Beacon was a good idea? You may have caught them last night Ruby, but this could have turned out to be something so much worse. What do you have to say for yourself?" Ozpin said a bit angrily and Glynda looked at him with wide eyes.

"Professor Ozpin, that is a bit harsh…" Glynda tried to say but Ruby spoke up.

"With all due respect Professor Ozpin, our plan was the one that made the most sense. We didn't know why that group was at Beacon, and if they had gone unnoticed that whole time they could have had this place bugged or something. If I told you about them and they found out we were onto them then they could have disappeared and we would never have found them. Yeah, Seth and I were lucky to find Cinder last night, so what? The overall point is that these criminals are in a jail cell in Atlas.

Look you can sit there in your chair and be angry at me for not telling you but both of you know last night was a huge victory. And you can think that I didn't trust you enough, or that General Ironwood was trying to usurp you, or Atlas was trying to display it's power or something stupid like that. You know the real reason why I, no matter how much you don't want to admit it. The General is a great man, Litchi and Sindel are great leaders, and everyone in my unit is a great detective and hunter. So you can act like you are giving me some profound lecture, but you are just wasting my time." Ruby said with a glare and both the professors widened their eyes.

Ozpin was starting to see Glynda's worry for their young student, she had never talked to them like that before. Both of them were aware that she was Qrow's daughter so of course she would have some of his attributes, but this was a new one that they were seeing. In hindsight it probably wasn't the best idea to wake this girl up at the crack of dawn and have her recall all the events that her superior did the night before.

Glynda knew that this was a bad idea, she told Ozpin that they were ambushing the girl and pretty much telling her that they believed she was hiding more things from them. It was true that Glynda was upset that James had put this agenda in these students' hands rather than the adult, but wasn't the most important thing that everyone was safe and these criminals were behind bars? Now Ruby thinks that her teachers are not worth sharing information with, but Glynda knew there was another reason behind the girl's tone.

'This must be how things are with her team, they get on her for stupid reasons and she fires back.' Glynda thought in sadness.

'Sigh, this was a bad idea and now she thinks that all I care about is not being left in the dark instead of the safety of Remnant.' Ozpin thought with a frown as he knew he had to fix this.

"I…apologize Miss Rose, I will admit I believed that you were hiding more from me but I think I am just reeling from what happened last night. It was a shock to all of us when you and your friend came through the door with that Cinder woman in cuffs." Ozpin said with regret in his voice as his student took a deep breath and rubbed her temples.

"It's fine professor, I apologize for my tone I am just a bit tired, physically and mentally. I promise you none of us are hiding anything else, can I go now please?" Ruby asked.

"Yes you may Ruby, but before you do could you please tell us how things are with your team? I figure they gave you a lot of praise for taking down that group from Haven. Are things getting better with you all?" Glynda asked a bit hopeful.

"Actually, it was the complete opposite, apparently me being on a secret mission and having a boyfriend is ten times worse than terrorists attending Beacon. No, I did not get a bunch of congratulations, instead I got nagged at by them for doing my job and apparently it is my fault that Weiss doesn't have a boyfriend. So you know, just another day at the office." Ruby said simply as she ran a hand through her hair and Ozpin looked bewildered while Goodwitch rubbed her temples in frustration.

'Alright, enough is enough.' Glynda thought in annoyance as she addressed her young student again.

"I see, well thank you for coming here Ruby and telling us the details again. You should be very proud of what you did for this school, now go try to get some more rest before the mission debriefs." Glynda ordered and Ruby nodded.

"Thank you professor, you two take care." Ruby bowed and left causing the two professors to sigh.

"Well, that was a waste of time seeing as though the details were the same and we made ourselves look like fools. That poor girl though, it seems like she has a lot on her plate when it comes to her team. I am sorry Glynda, I should have listened to you, we shouldn't have done this." Ozpin said sadly.

"No, we shouldn't have, but we did it anyway and this is where we are now. As for the problems with her team, that stops when they get back because I have had enough." Glynda said sternly as she wanted to get Team RWBY on track and get Ruby off the chopping block.

Author Notes:

Hey guys I am back with another chapter, and this is a little bit different. I wanted to get Tai and Qrow's reaction to what happened the night before to the best of my ability but it was kind of tough for me. Next chapter will have the mission and all that other stuff, sorry if this one is a bit boring. Also just so you guys know, writing is becoming harder because there is so much more that I would rather do and I am enjoying my life to the fullest. So it can be a couple months before the next upload but it doesn't necessarily mean it's cancelled, I am just living my life and handling my business. Anyway, I will try to get Jaune Goodwitch up before the year ends but I can't promise anything. Take care and will see you soon!
