It was quiet in the interrogation room, which included Ruby, Mira and their prisoner. They knew who the girl was, the DNA sample made that job very easy. The hard part was getting this girl to talk about her criminal organization and what they were planning. The girl wasn't stupid, she was in a country that couldn't care less about Faunus, so it was obvious that no matter what she would be staying in this prison. The intelligence unit needed information though, and Ruby would rather not ask Blake, so she started speaking.
"So, your name is Ilia Amitola correct? Says here that you have been spotted multiple times when it comes to White Fang sightings. Also says that you are from Menagerie, I've never been there before what's that like?" Ruby asked trying to ease the girl into talking.
"Oh, it's wonderful, all Faunus and no humans. What's not to love?" The girl now known as Ilia said with a smirk as both Ruby and Mira looked unamused.
"Oh God that sounds so gross, imagine all that fur everywhere…" Ruby said while shivering as Mira chuckled and Ilia glared at them.
"Why you-" Ilia started but Mira waved her off.
"Ok that's enough fun, let's get down to business. On this week's episode of "The White Fang is Insane", you and those other faunus planted bombs on a train in an underground passage. It's no doubt in our mind that those bombs were from Roman Torchwick, Ruby had caught him in the past stealing dust and we have other witnesses who can attest to that. You all did succeed in blowing up parts of the tunnel and bringing grimm, but that was fixed no problem. The only thing that blew up was your plan in your face, our question is what was your next plan after that?" Mira asked as she twirled her hair.
"I don't know, I hadn't received orders yet and even if I did, I wouldn't tell you people." Ilia said victoriously and the two detectives rolled their eyes.
"Oh please, the badge we recovered from your uniform shows that you are a valued member of the White Fang, so clearly you have the inside info. Even if you didn't receive orders, you probably have a good idea of what's going on or what to do after that train fiasco. So don't think you can bullshit with us." Ruby said coldly with a glare.
"Like I said, I don't know anything and it wouldn't matter if I did. Nothing you Atleasian bastards do will be enough to stop the White Fang. You all should just cower in fear and watch how we will gain our respect and bring fruition to our cause." Ilia said with a smirk that fell as Mira and Ruby laughed.
"Oh, that is rich, you think that we are actually scared of you and the White Fang? Sweetheart this is the result of you all's efforts to erase humanity!" Mira said in a dramatic voice as she tapped her tablet showing some pictures and showed it to Ilia.
Ilia looked at the tablet and her eyes widened with horror. It showed all of the recent attacks that the White Fang, and all of her brothers and sisters injured or dead bodies in each scene. Some were of the train attack today, she thought that the Atlesian soldier was lying when he said that she was the only survivor on the train. It had to be a joke right? Roman Torchwick survived so why didn't her brethren survive as well? Her thoughts were interrupted by the red-haired detective's irritating voice.
"You get it now, right? I know you guys think that you are some fearsome terror organization, but in reality you are just a group of faunus in over your head. Every time you do something, you guys are the ones who get hurt the most and some don't even come back. That's why four teenage girls and a licensed huntsman were able to take you down without much effort. None of you are skilled enough to make this impact you have going on in your mind, and you're just hurting yourselves. Well, actually one of you is skilled enough…" Ruby trailed off and Ilia scoffed before narrowing her eyes.
"What, you mean Blake? She's a friend of yours, right? You might wanna watch out, she'll stab you in the back out of nowhere." Ilia said bitterly as Ruby rolled her eyes.
"Friend is a strong word at the moment, teammate is a more appropriate term and believe me I am aware of her habits. However, she wasn't the one who I was talking about, show her Mira." Ruby said as she nudged her friend who swiped her tablet and hit play on a video.
Ilia wondered what this video was supposed to be and when it started playing her heart stopped. This was bad, really bad, it was a video recording of her leader threatening and killing one of their business partners. How these Atlesian soldiers had this video footage Ilia didn't know but she did know that now they were aware of her leader, or de facto leader she might add. They may not know his name, but they clearly know what to look for.
"I gotta say, he makes quite a dangerous impression, but unlike the lot of you he knows how to fight. So, who is he? Your boss? He clearly has some kind of rank at a high level if he was able to do that to Dexter Deshawn." Mira said calmly as Ilia glared at her.
"What makes you think that I am going to tell you anything about him? Unlike Blake Belladonna, I am not going to betray any of my White Fang brothers! And you two showing me this video shows that you have no idea who he is, and I am very much needed for you to find out. So if I keep my mouth shut, our mission continues. Do your worst!" Ilia stated victoriously as Ruby and Mira looked at her with irritation.
"You actually got it wrong, it's the other way around. We are going to find out who this guy is, this way was just the easiest and most convenient. It's actually you that needs us, in case you haven't noticed you are in a maximum-security prison in a place that is not particularly fond of the White Fang. It's obvious that your life will be a living hell while you are here, but if you were to cooperate then we could talk to the general for you. What do you say?" Ruby asked calmly as Ilia narrowed her eyes at her.
"Are you threatening me?" Ilia asked coldly and Ruby rolled her eyes.
"No threats, just stating the obvious." Ruby said truthly.
"She's right you know; this is our first time to this place and we are rarely going to be here. It's our job to put criminals like you in prison, not to maintain constant vigilance over you while you're here. We aren't really going to know what happens here and we can only guess, but if you cooperate then we can cut a deal for you with General Ironwood. Those prisoners you saw will be locked in here for a while and no one is coming to get them, I'm pretty sure it will be the same for you too." Mira stated matter of factly as Ilia considered her options.
No matter how much she hated to admit it, she knew the girls across from her were right. There was no way her brothers and sisters were going to try and make an attempt to come rescue her, hell they probably didn't even know she was taken. She also knew that she was going to have a hard time in this prison since it was in Atlas and the prisoners likely knew of the mine attack. Still, what was she to do, betray her brethren? Ilia pledged her life to the cause of the White Fang and she would not be deterred.
"You think you all scare me? I pledged my life to the White Fang and its cause, and that isn't going to change just because I am in this dump. I won't betray them, and I don't care what happens to me in here because it won't even measure up to the pain that we Faunus have had to endure! So, you all do what you gotta do but you won't find that guy, and he'll get to you before you get to him. I would just back off if I were you." Ilia taunted but Mira and Ruby just looked annoyed.
Ruby looked at Mira who shook her head and she nodded in understanding. There wasn't anything else they could do to try and change this girl's mind. She knew that the only reason they were talking to her was to find out the identity of the red-haired bull faunus. Not only that, but her devotion to the White Fang made her immune to the threats of being in an Atlas prison. With the observation that nothing else could be done, but Mira and Ruby rose from their seats.
"Fine, you don't wanna be of any help? That's your choice, but here's a last look of your friends in the White Fang. Don't worry, they died for the cause, right?" Mira mocked as she held up her fist and she and Ruby left the room.
One could tell by the looks on Ruby and Mira's faces that they were disappointed with themselves. How could they call themselves detectives of the Intelligence Unit and yet they couldn't get information out of one White Fang member. Ruby was especially discouraged because it sounded like she would have to ask Blake about this mystery person. She really didn't want to get her teammate involved in this, but it sounded like she had no choice. Ruby saw that Sindel and Litchi had similar expressions on their faces and General Ironwood was with them.
"No luck either huh?" Litchi asked her detectives who sighed.
"None, she definitely knows who this guy is, but she won't tell us anything. She really is so devout to the White Fang that them succeeding is all she cares about, she won't acknowledge that they have gone too far. Ilia showed concern for her deceased comrades, but it was only a flash of her eyes before she regained her cold demeanor. What did Roman Torchwick have to say about all this?" Mira asked and her bosses groaned.
"He was silent throughout the whole interview; I don't know why we even tried. He is a professional criminal, so he knows the game. He knows that everything is pretty much over for him, even if he did cooperate and we shortened his sentence, his parole officer has not been born yet. What did concern me is that that he seemed to be a bit afraid when I asked him about Cinder and her crew, I wonder if there is more to that. He definitely seems more scared of her and not this bull Faunus we are trying to find." Sindel said with her thumb on her chin and didn't see Ironwood's brow furrowing.
"I have to wonder why a crime boss would be afraid of that woman, no matter how strong she thinks she is, she is still only one person." Litchi said curiously and Ruby sighed.
"I guess we are going to have to go Plan B, even though I really don't want to…" Ruby said honestly as she ran a hand through her long hair.
"Wait, what you do you mean Ruby?" Mira asked confused as her friend sighed again and looked at the General.
"General Ironwood, I would like to speak hypothetically." Ruby said to the man who nodded.
"Alright, I am all ears." Ironwood said calmly to the girl and encouraged her to continue.
"Let's say I know someone who was in the White Fang but is no longer affiliated with them. I am fairly certain they have information that could help us identify this Faunus, but if they were to do that would they be prosecuted as a White Fang member?" Ruby asked warily and was shocked to hear Ironwood chuckling.
"Miss Belladonna, I presume?" Ironwood asked in amusement and Ruby widened her eyes before dropping her head.
"Was it that obvious?" Ruby asked with a groan as Mira chuckled and rubbed her back consolingly.
"She is your teammate after all, not to mention that I already had the information concerning Miss Belladonna. I had someone look into her after you and your team's adventure at the docks." Ironwood explained.
"Who was the source you mentioned General?" Ruby asked confused.
"THAT WOULD BE ME!" A familiar and cheerful voice yelled as a certain figure appeared behind Ruby and Mira.
"AH GOD!" Mira yelped as she jumped out of her skin at this new girl's surprise arrival.
"Oh my God Penny, I said not to do that!" Ruby said frazzled and her superiors were laughing at her and her friend's behavior.
The girl who made her grand entrance was indeed Penny Polendina, Ruby's friend from Atlas that she made when Blake went on that sabbatical. She hadn't seen a lot of her since but knew she had to be in Atlas somewhere so it would only be a matter of time before she saw her again. Though Ruby wished Penny would stop sneaking up behind her, she had lost count at the number of times she scared her. She wondered if Ironwood gave her all the information she had gathered.
"Friend Ruby! You got a makeover!" Penny said happily and Ruby blinked before she realized what Penny was talking about.
"Oh yeah, we haven't seen each other in a minute huh? Yeah, the dress I wore wasn't working for me so I got this new outfit, plus I like my hair when it is long like this." Ruby explained.
"IT LOOKS GREAT!" Penny cheered and Ruby chuckled.
"Thank you, Penny." Ruby said kindly.
"I brought Penny in because she has information concerning your teammate, Blake Belladonna. After your run in with Torchwick those months back, Penny extracted DNA samples from a bit of hair strands that were left by Miss Belladonna on the battlefield. After running it, we found out that she is actually from Menagerie, and she was a member of the White Fang. Her father, Ghira Belladonna was the former leader, but there were statements saying he retired years ago." Ironwood explained.
"But I knew before then that friend Blake was a member of the White Fang as soon as I met her!" Penny exclaimed.
"I remember Sindel showing me that Ghira Belladonna guy and they looked like they could be father and daughter, wonder why he retired though? Also, how did you know that Blake was a member of the White Fang Penny?" Ruby asked curious at how she figured it out so quickly.
"Because of the White Fang symbol on her leg!" Penny said matter of factly.
Ruby looked confused until she widened her eyes and mentally hit herself for missing something so obvious. The symbol on her teammates right pant leg was identical to the ones that the White Fang soldiers had on their masks. She couldn't believe that she, the rest of her teammates and everyone that interacted with team RWBY missed that. Now Ruby was hoping that everyone else was as stupid as she was for not noticing that.
"Oh my God, I am such an idiot…" Ruby said as she facepalmed and everyone else chuckled.
"Now-now Ruby, you aren't an idiot but General what are we supposed to do now? I don't think we should bring Miss Belladonna in to question her, that will definitely draw some attention. The last thing we need is people finding out my detective is in association with a former white fang member." Sindel voiced with concern.
"I agree ma'am but talking to her might be our only option, you saw all of them in there they won't give us anything. And if they do it will be a ridiculous deal that will have them out of here in the next five years. Besides, we need to move fast before this guy does something dangerous which we know he will!" Mira said with worry.
The group thought about their options and while talking to Blake made the most sense, they didn't want it to be known that she was in the White Fang. Not to mention that if they were being watched by members of said organization then they could target the girl. However, it truly seemed like they were not going to get anything from their prisoners, they knew that they would be in those cells a long time. Just then Ruby spoke up.
"OK how about this, if you guys go through the night and you don't get anything from our prisoners then I will just talk to Blake one on one. In a private area, no one but me and her and no one else will know. I am confident she knows this guy, and info she gives us will be good information. Is that ok with you General? Sindel?" Ruby asked her superiors.
"My only worry is what happens when we do finally catch this guy and try all these criminals properly. The council is going to want details of everything that has happened and I worry they will want to talk to our source. Then again, my main priority is getting these dangerous criminals off the street and the council will appreciate it no matter what. We can deal with them later, if you believe Miss Belladonna has information on who this faunus is, I say go for it." Ironwood informed Ruby.
"I agree with the general, we will continue working alongside Penny to gain more information on the criminals in the cells. You talk to Blake about our current situation, but Ruby please reinforce the importance that Blake does not share this information to ANYONE. We avoided a disaster today that was caused by your teammates, and I would much rather not go through anyone anytime soon understand? Don't be afraid to be assertive." Sindel told her detective sternly.
"Understood ma'am, I think after today they know how serious this is." Ruby said.
"Well then you girls go back to the hotel and get some rest, I know how exhausted the two of you must be since you have literally been up all night and most of today. Thanks again for all your hard work, we are lucky to have you both in this unit." Litchi said warmly and both Ruby and Mira smiled and thanked them.
Penny hugged Ruby goodbye as she and Mira went out of the prison and into the shuttle that would take them to their hotel. Once they got on both their scrolls rang and they simultaneously responded with, "Hey Babe!". The girls blinked before giggling at each other and engaging in conversations with their boyfriends who called. Seth asked Ruby why she was such a trouble magnet and she laughed before telling him that she knew he liked that about her.
Seth then asked his girlfriend how she was doing with her team, considering he knew that those three girls were all up in he and Ruby's business. Ruby told him about Weiss throwing a tantrum and her teammates nearly screwing up the mission, but she would find a way to deal with them. After about 20 minutes the shuttle arrived at the hotel and the girls said bye to their boyfriends on the phone. They got in the elevator and were ready to just do nothing.
"Oh my God I am so beat! I can't wait to just relax here, put my feet up and order some room service. Yo do you wanna call the girls over to chill?" Ruby asked her friend.
"Hell yeah, oh wait Cana is calling now. Hey girlie! You're on speaker with me and Ruby!" Mira said happily.
"Oh no way Ruby you're back! Jenny and Erza are with me too!" Cana said excitedly.
"Hey Ruby!" Both Erza and Jenny greeted and Ruby smiled, she was glad to finally have friends who wanted to see her.
"Hey girls! Wanna come to the hotel and chill with me and Mira? I'm in the mood to not do anything." Ruby laughed.
"Well, we COULD do that…" Cana said sarcastically and Ruby and Mira automatically groaned, they knew what was coming.
"You're gonna make us go out, aren't you?" Mira said with a sigh.
"There's this new lounge that has it's grand opening tonight! It's got chill music, great atmosphere and food, not to mention it's a whole vibe! So you know all of us are going!" Cana said happily.
"Cana it's a Monday! Don't you guys have class tomorrow?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah, we do but we will be back before curfew and yeah it's Monday so it won't be too busy! So, what's the problem?" Cana asked playfully and the girls could hear their friends giggling.
"But we're tired!" Ruby and Mira groaned.
"We don't care!" Cana and the other two said at the same time causing Ruby and Mira to groan.
"I swear girl you are going to be the death of me, but fine some fun can't hurt anyone. But me and Ruby are taking a two-hour nap at the minimum because we are tired and our feet are killing us. We will meet up with you girls at 7 ok?" Mira told them.
"Great! See you girls then!" Cana said happily.
"So much for our chill night." Mira sighed.
"Yeah but at least, we get to hang with the girls, I'm gonna take a nap so see you in a couple of hours." Ruby said as she waved by to Mira who waved back, both going to their rooms to get some sleep.
Taiyaing Xiao Long's Residence
Yang Xiao Long felt like her world was being turned upside down by the information that she had just received. When she arrived at her home not too long ago, she hoped that her father and uncle were going to talk about Ruby and get her to revert to her old self. She knew that neither of them would be happy with her new attitude or the fact that she had a boyfriend, so she was happy. But nothing would prepare her for what they actually wanted to talk to her about.
She had no idea what her father meant when he said that it was time for her to hear the truth, but she wished she had never heard it. Apparently, Ruby was never her actual sister and Qrow was her father, her entire life had been a lie. Yang learned that because of her uncle's semblance, he didn't want to be around Ruby to avoid bad things happening to her. Because of this, he left her to be raised by Taiyang instead so she could be happy.
Yang thought it was noble, but she also thought it was stupid because Qrow visited Ruby and them all the time. Hell, he is the one who trained for God's sake! If he spent all that time with her what was so different about raising her in the first place?! If he did then she wouldn't be feeling the hurt that she was currently experiencing. It was bad enough that she and Ruby were not on good terms, but now knowing she wasn't really her sister? How much pain was she supposed to take?
Tai and Qrow looked at Yang with worry, they knew how much this was going to hurt and upset her. Originally, they had planned to do it when the girls were older but with Ruby finding out they knew they had to do it sooner or later. Yang always prided herself with the big sister role, even now although she and Ruby were not on good terms. So seeing her look so sad was understandable, but it was shocking to both of them that she wasn't raging.
"Yang honey…please talk to us. We can-" Tai tried to say but was interrupted by his upset daughter.
"You can do what? Turn my world upside down again?! Honestly, how much crap am I supposed to take? It's bad enough that Ruby doesn't even talk to me anymore and she's turned into someone I barely even recognize! Not only that, but she won't even try to accept my apology and she is doing so many irresponsible things! And now I found out that she isn't even my sister? What else could go wrong?!" Yang yelled with tears in her eyes.
"What irresponsible things?" Qrow asked curiously.
"She has a boyfriend now for one, and she constantly goes out with all these random people she met at Atlas!" Yang exclaimed and Tai's eyes were as wide as a fish while Qrow just rolled his eyes.
Qrow knew this was going to come up sometime today, but he was still annoyed at how overdramatic Yang was being and how Tai was going to be. Yeah, Ruby was dating a guy so what? She was sixteen, it was going to happen someday, and they didn't act like this when Yang dated someone so what was the difference? If anything, they should be more worried about who Yang dates since her previous relationships ended with the guy in the hospital.
Tai on the other hand saw things differently from Qrow and was shocked and infuriated by the information he just received. His sweet little Ruby was dating someone?! Who was the boy who had the absolute NERVE to ask his little girl out?! And didn't Ruby know how dangerous that was? He would at least like to know the guy before Ruby dated anyone, but he really didn't want her dating at all. He was also worried about the group Ruby was hanging out with…
"What do you mean she has a boyfriend?!" Tai asked angrily.
"When I was at the dance with the others, Ruby didn't go because she said she wanted to catch up on her work. Next thing I know some guy comes up to us and says that Ruby had just left some guy! I wanted to go get her, but my friends prevented me from doing so. He is in the same unit as Ruby because when the guards took those terrorists away, General Ironwood called him detective Dreyar. He looks really skilled, but all I wanted to do was beat the crap out of him." Yang growled and Tai noticed something.
"Qrow, why don't you look shocked?" Tai asked as he narrowed his eyes.
"It's not news to me." Qrow said simply with a shrug and Tai and Yang's eyes widened.
"You knew about this?!" Tai asked furiously.
"That's what I just said didn't I? Look when I first saw the new Ruby, I noticed the kid was looking at her a certain way but I just brushed it off at first, even though I knew what that look meant. Then when she told me that she and a colleague were coming back from hanging out in Vale and I put two and two together." Qrow explained and Yang glared at him.
"And that doesn't bother you?!" Yang asked angrily and her anger increased when she saw Qrow roll his eyes.
"Am I bothered by my sixteen-year-old daughter dating someone? No I am not. Yang I wasn't bothered when you started dating, even though God knows I should have been, so why should I worry about Ruby dating someone?" Qrow asked annoyed and Yang glared at him for his remark.
"Qrow you know that is not the same thing." Tai said trying to calm the situation down but Qrow rolled his eyes.
"I'm quite aware Tai, Ruby has been going out with this guy for what a month and neither of us have gotten a call from the kid's parents or the hospital like our Firecracker's guys have. I can see things are quite different." Qrow said sarcastically and Tai and Yang glared at him.
"QROW!" Tai yelled pissed off.
"God you really are Ruby's Dad because she said the same thing to me! She was very rude to bring up my relationships and how they have ended poorly. But that's the difference between me and her, I have experience! She is too young to date anybody!" Yang exclaimed and Tai nodded causing Qrow to put his head in his hands.
"See, THIS is the problem! Both of you are so afraid of Ruby growing up and not being a little girl anymore that both of you are acting ridiculous. Tai, Yang, what are you really mad about? A sixteen-year-old girl going on dates, making new friends, and doing new things? That sounds a lot like growing up to me, something every teenager does. Why do you both make it sound like it is the worse thing in the world just because Ruby is going through it?" Qrow asked and both Xiao Long's wanted to respond but felt the effects of his words.
"Qrow, it's just not that simple." Tai got out and Qrow sighed.
"It's never going to be that simple Tai, but you can't overreact like this to every new thing that happens to Ruby. Hell, you even had me scared about Ruby joining that unit instead of seeing what a wonderful opportunity it is for her. She's proved herself time and time again too, but you still want her out. Ruby wants to be a huntress, and she is staying well on her path by being in this unit and going on missions. But just because her dream is the same, doesn't me she will always be the same.
Ruby is a huntress in training yes, but she is also a sixteen-year-old girl who will just be getting older as time goes on. She is going to do new things like wear new outfits and grow out her hair. Also, she will make new friends considering she is very friendly and the ones she met seem to like her a lot. Finally, she is a pretty girl, boys are going to be attracted to her, and also vice versa because she was going to start to be interested in boys one of these days.
All of the things that you two are mad about, are completely normal for a girl like Ruby and you yourself went through all of this too Yang, but it wasn't such a fuss. Yes, she has new friends, her attitude is different, and she is currently dating. All completely normal for someone her age and you two act like she is breaking some kind of law. I know that both of you are protective of her, but you are not being fair to Ruby.
Especially you Yang, it's very hypocritical for a girl who was badmouthing her cousin and begging for her to become independent, only to be angry when it happens. I mean Yang isn't this what you wanted? For Ruby to be more mature and make her own friends so she could leave you and the others alone? That's what the recording said anyway, and I know you are sorry but you aren't showing it! Ruby never tried to interfere in your personal life the way you are doing now, you need to show her the same respect if you ever want to get back on her good side." Qrow said as he finished his rant.
Tai and Yang heard Qrow's rant and while they really wanted to respond negatively, they both knew that he was right. It was the truth; Ruby was simply growing up and they didn't like it one bit. Tai just wanted Ruby to remain his sweet little girl, but he knew that she was going to grow up one day. To him it was just too soon for Ruby to be acting like this and doing all these new things. And he knew he was overprotective, but he was her father figure not to mention her uncle, of course he was going to be overprotective!
So, when his niece that he basically raised as his daughter did things like date a boy, make new friends that he didn't meet or go on a mission to a different kingdom of course he was going to act negatively! Though, he knew he and Yang were being a little much and it didn't help that Ruby and Yang were on negative terms. Tai just wanted things to go back to normal, but he didn't know if they ever were going to and that made him sad. He knew that this Ruby was likely going to be the Ruby going forward, and he would just have to live with it.
Qrow looked at his niece and noticed that she was just looking at the ground, tears forming in her eyes. He sighed thinking that he might have been too harsh when he was yelling at her and Tai, he knew this was hurting her a lot. But Qrow really wanted her to stop being so ridiculous and leave Ruby alone when she was the one who started this. The sooner Yang understood that she was wrong, the sooner they all could be a big happy family again.
"Look Yang…" Qrow started but was interrupted by his niece as she let it out.
"I know, ok? I know that I am being selfish and overprotective but…it's Ruby you know? I've always felt like it was my job to be there for her and to protect her no matter what! Yeah, it kind of got annoying and I did say all those horrible things, I didn't think something this bad would happen! Yeah, we neglected Ruby because we thought she was too young, and we loved going to parties and other events without her. All those things are shitty though when Ruby won't even talk to me!
She was gone for two weeks in Atlas, and in those two weeks I and my other friends sent her a hundred messages saying how sorry we were, and she didn't even read one! Then she finally comes home, and you know what she says? 'Excuse me for not reading your messages, I was too busy enjoying life'! I wish we could go back in time and stop ourselves from badmouthing Ruby, but we can't! We are sorry and she needs to understand that!
I know that we have been giving her a hard time for a while now, Weiss can be a lot, Blake is antisocial, and I just needed a break! So we neglected her, and in the process she became a totally different person! I mean just look at the way she walks, the way she talks, the way she dresses! Ruby always wore that same black dress and now I have seen her in more outfits than I have ever seen her in! Not to mention that she made new friends and got a boyfriend who she texts all the time because she doesn't talk to us!
Look I know that I have no right to feel this way after what me and my friends said that night, and I want to show that I am sorry but it's hard! Ruby being on a secret mission, her having a boyfriend that she has been dating for a month, and all these different things about her! I am tired of her having secrets and I hate that I don't know what is going on in her life! It's the complete opposite of what I am used to and it is driving me crazy!
The girls and I know that we should be more supportive, hell we didn't even congratulate her when she got the position in the unit! We were only worried about us, what kind of team does that?! I get that Ruby has her own life now, she has her own friends, and she is going to be doing new things but it's hard for me to be ok with that after all these years. I promise that I will try though, why can't Ruby just give me a chance to let me try?!" Yang exclaimed sadly with tears running down her face.
Tai looked at his daughter as she was pretty much sobbing now and immediately wrapped his arms around her. He could tell that she had been keeping that in for so long and it must have felt really good to let it all out. Though she was the cause of this whole thing with her and Ruby, it was good to know that Yang wanted to do all she could to get things better between them. Tai knew that it would be hard for all of them, but it would pay off in the end.
Qrow was happy that Yang realized how wrong she was being and got all of that out of her system. He knew that Yang prided herself on being Ruby's big sister, or cousin in this case, and knew that a maturing Ruby would be difficult to wrap her head around. Still, he was sure that Ruby would forgive her, but it was going to take some time, especially with how Yang and her other two teammates were being.
"Yang, I know Ruby will give you another chance, but I don't believe that it's going to come right away. She is still hurt by what you all said, and she doesn't really feel comfortable around you with how negatively you responded to all the things happening in her life. The chance is going to come though and when it does, just be honest with her ok? Tell her that you are going to do all you can to make it up to her and even though it will be tough you will accept the new her. Got it?" Qrow asked calmly and Yang nodded.
"I feel like such a hypocrite, Ruby never got into my dating life or any of my personal business before. Not to mention that she never asked me to stay with her when I ditched my friends, and she was always the one to console me when I was upset. I haven't returned the favor; I have just been so mad with accepting the new her. I know I messed up, but I think I can speak for me and my teammates when I say that we want to have Ruby back in our lives, whether she is my sister or cousin or whatever." Yang said softly with a small smile.\
With that, Yang hugged her Uncle Qrow for allowing her to vent and to see the wrong that she was doing. Even though she was still mad at Qrow and Tai for keeping the secret of Ruby not being her sister, Yang loved her all the same and wanted to be back on good terms more than anything. She knew she was going to struggle with the fact that Ruby was dating, and she had new friends, but nothing was going to stop her.
Author Notes:
This just gets tougher and tougher everytime. What's up everybody, it's me finally back after a few months. I have had so much happen in my life that I can't even explain to you but I need you to know that fanfics have been less interesting to me day by day. I kinda wanna just cancel this and tell you the ending but I don't want you guys to riot. Saw RWBY volume 10, happy for the bumblebee fans for finally getting what they wanted since it sounded like you guys were gonna storm Rooster Teeth if you didn't lol. Personally I like her and Sun more but who cares. I hope you enjoy this chapter and the next one whenever that is.
