Mostly filler chapter, but it definitely sets up the next part of the story so hope you all enjoy it.
TW: Thank you.
Traveling: Carol is the modern day 'strong woman' archetype. She doesn't really do anything except talk down to everyone about how awesome she is and belittle everyone else while avoiding the consequences of her actions and the narrative treats her like she's right. Which is honestly a shame, because her counterpart in Earth's Mightiest Heroes is so likeable, I wish I could say the same about Carol in the MCU. Thank you. George's stance on Spider-Man and the Accords will be addressed in one of the coming chapters. Oversight with safeguards is something everyone would find agreeable, but the UN clearly wasn't interested in that, given the Avengers were given three days to read and decide, which is not possible given the size of the document. Thank you.
Guest 1: I kind of picture Sean Pertwee in the role.
Paladin: Yep LOL!
Ellie Bishop: Yep. Indeed, outside NWH the MCU really didn't show Peter's brains because they were too busy trying to make him into the second Iron Man. Yeah, it's not gonna be easy for Peter. She sure is, Gwen didn't get it all from George.
Guest 2: There's really not a whole lot Talos can do at this point, his only hope was to have Carol kill Thor and hope the Asgardians destroyed themselves in the resulting chaos. He stands no chance against Thor and Carol, so unless he wants to risk genocide with his people, he's pretty much forced to comply. Eh, Secret Invasion makes about as much sense as anything else post Endgame. Ugg, the stupidity of the MCU gets worse and worse, I'm so glad I checked out long ago. Glad to hear it. Yep.
New York Airport
Morning
"Well, here we are guys," Scott said as he, Hope and Hank exited the terminal.
"Scott, we don't need a tour guide," Hank said as though talking to a kid.
"I know that Hank," Scott said a little irritably.
"Boys, don't fight," Hope said with the air of someone who had endured any such arguments. "Scott, how are we supposed to get to the Compound?"
"Cap said something about someone picking us up," Scott said as they continued walking.
Barely had the words left her mouth when they saw a man in a suit holding up a sign that said 'Scott Lang'.
"Guess that's our que," Hope said as they approached the man.
"Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne and Hank Pym?" the man asked as they reached him.
"That would be us," Scott said with a smile.
"Great to meet you, Happy Hogan. You have any bags?" Happy asked curiously.
"Just what we have on us," Hank said and Happy nodded.
"Good. Come on, the others are waiting at the Compound," Happy said as he began leading them out of the airport.

"Thor left Talos no choice but to withdraw his forces. But Carol Danvers is still keeping an eye on the Skrulls and reporting their movements to Thor," Sif explained to Steve and Natasha as the three of them sat in the longue. "Per Thor's demands, all hostages were returned to earth, their memories of their time captive erased."
"I'm sure they must be very confused," Steve noted.
"Better confused than traumatized," Natasha pointed out and Steve nodded, conceding her point.
"And the hostages that can't be returned?" Steve questioned.
"They'll just be another one of those mysteries that never gets solved. I don't like it either Steve, but it is what it is," Natasha pointed out and Steve sighed.
"I know. Doesn't mean I have to like it," Steve said unhappily.
"Neither does Thor, but the alternative was war resulting in genocide," Sif said and Steve nodded.
"I know. I just wish…" Steve trailed off but they understood.
"I know Steve. So do we," Natasha said gently as she reached over, taking his hand.
In the lab, Tony and Bruce were working on some planes, Tony doing his best to draw what the Quantum Tunnel had looked like.
"Best I can do until Pym gets here," Tony said as Bruce examined the make due schematics.
"It's not bad. I'm no expert on Quantum Technology, but this is a good start. Hopefully Pym can help us work out the kinks," Bruce noted and Tony grimaced.
"Which might take some convincing. He's even more arrogant than me and has issues with my dad," Tony muttered.
"Well you're gonna have to convince him you're not Howard. We have too much ridding on this Tony," Bruce pointed out.
Tony nodded, knowing Bruce was right. He'd have to play this very carefully, for everyone's sake.

Out on the front lawn, Clint was chopping firewood as Cooper placed the pieces of wood on a tree stump.
"Nice job kiddo," Clint said before chopping another piece of wood. "Couldn't have done it without you."
Cooper nodded, seemingly far away. Clint paused in his work as he looked at his son, realizing something was on his mind.
"Cooper," Clint called out and Cooper looked up at him, startled out of his thoughts. "Everything okay?"
"I was wondering…how long is Wanda going to stay here?" Copper inquired and Clint paused, carefully considering his answer.
"For a while," Clint finally said. "I can't really explain it, I doubt you'd believe me if I did. But things are going to happen soon that will put Wanda at risk if she'd stay with the Avengers. So she's gonna stay here until it blows over. Are you upset about that?"
"No, she seems cool. It's…" Cooper trailed off, unsure how to put it into words.
But Clint seemed to understand, putting the axe down and walking over to his son, placing a hand on Cooper's shoulders before kneeling down in front of him.
"It's okay, I think I get it," Clint said and his son looked up at him curiously. "I know it hasn't always been easy, being my son. And it's been normal for the last year, and you don't want it to change.
"I wish I could say that it'll stay like it has for the last year, but being who I am, I can't say that. But I can promise that nothing will ever be more important to me than you, your brother and sister, and your mom. All right?"
After a moment, Cooper rushed into his father's arms, hugging him tightly. Clint returned the hug, hoping that, whatever happened, he could keep his family out of what was to come.
Inside the house, Wanda was helping Laura peel potatoes. She didn't help mind helping Laura out, she found she quite liked the older woman. She was smart, funny, and somehow managed to put up with Clint while raising three kids. Wanda honestly didn't know how she did it.
"So how are you enjoying your stay with us so far?" Laura asked before laughing. "I did not mean to sound like some hotel clerk. But I hope you like it here."
"I do," Wanda said immediately, surprised to find she meant it. "It reminds me of home. Before…"
Wanda trailed off; dark memories of the day a nuke had torn her home and family apart filling her minds. But she shook her head, casting the dark memories away. Dwelling on those painful memories had led her to be manipulated by Hydra. She wouldn't make the same mistake again.
"I'm glad," Laura said gently, sensing Wanda was thinking on some painful memory but not saying anything about it.
The years of knowing Natasha had taught her that pushing this kind of thing never ended well.
"It's funny. Pietro and I talked a lot about getting out of Sokovia, settling down on a farm somewhere. And now here I am," Wanda noted with a self-desecrating smile.
"Sometimes, life gives us what we want in unexpected ways," Laura said sagely.
"Maybe. That hasn't been my experience," Wanda said with a tight smile.
"Well, maybe your experiences can be different now," Laura offered.
Wanda shrugged but didn't argue. While she doubted it, it was nice that Laura had a more optimistic outlook on life than she did.
Avengers Compound
Afternoon
Steve, Natasha, Tony and Bruce stood outside the Compound as Happy pulled up in his limo. Happy helped his passengers out and Steve stepped forward.
"Scott, good to see you again," Steve said in a friendly voice.
"Hey Cap," Scott greeted before gesturing to Hank and Pym. "This is Hope Van Dyne and Hank Pym."
"Nice to meet you both. Thank you for coming," Steve said politely.
"From what Scott said, we don't have much choice," Hope noted.
"There's always a choice, we just don't always choose to do what's right," Natasha said as she stepped forward. "I'm Natasha. This is Bruce Banner, and I'm sure you already know who Tony is."
"Yes, you could say that," Hank said, looking at Tony darkly as they could all feel the tension rise.
"Mr. Pym, I know you have issues with my father. But I'm not him," Tony said carefully, knowing the man's history with Howard Stark.
"So far, you haven't done anything to prove you aren't just like him," Hank pointed out, which Tony privately admitted was a good point.
If the recordings had taught him anything, it was that he was his father's son.
"Then give me a chance to prove that I'm not," Tony challenged and, after a moment, Hank nodded.
"All right Stark. Prove it to me," Hank allowed, humoring him.
Not long after, the group of seven stood in the lab, Bruce and Tony showing Hank and Hope the half wrote schematics for the Quantum Tunnel.
"It's not bad. And this is from memory?" Hank asked as he looked over at Tony.
"Basically, the recordings didn't cover a lot of the building of the Quantum Tunnel. Think you can help make a real one from that?" Tony asked and Hank scoffed.
"Please, give me a few days; I can come up with something far better. But why do you need a Quantum Tunnel?" Hank inquired as he looked at them curiously.
"We need access to the Negative Zone to trap a Hell Goddess there," Natasha said bluntly, taking Hank and Hope aback.
"First, what's the Negative Zone? Second, Hell Goddess?" Hope said confused.
"The Negative Zone is an endless void of space charged with Negative Energy; it just hasn't been discovered yet. According to someone I met in the future, we can trap Thor's evil sister there and the negative energy will take away her power," Tony explained.
"Thor has a sister?" Hope asked incredulously, looking to Scott for confirmation and he nodded.
"Oh yeah, she's a literal Hell Goddess. She's basically the Wicked Witch of the West, the Evil Queen and Cersei Lannister all rolled up into one very powerful, evil person," Scott explained.
"I worked for SHIELD for decades; never saw anything that was too out of the ordinary. And now this," Hank deadpanned.
"I know how you feel," Steve said, emphasizing with Hank in that moment.
He really missed the days when he was the weirdest thing around.
"Back to business, I'm really not sure I can get to this Negative Zone," Hank noted.
"It's basically just another part of the Quantum Realm, right? We believe if anyone can do it, you can," Tony said and Hank looked over at him for a moment.
"Admitting you can't do something by yourself. Maybe you are different from Howard after all," Hank acknowledged before looking back at the plans. "Still, I'm not even sure I'd be able to do it. The Quantum Realm is…unknown, even to me."
"We have two years before we need to worry about that. Right now, we just want to know if it's possible," Natasha said and Hank nodded.
"The first step is building a Quantum Tunnel. But that might be difficult, given what Scott said about The Accords," Hank noted.
"Whatever he told you, they're far worse. But you let us worry about them. You just focus on making a Quantum Tunnel," Tony told him.
Further conversation was interrupted by Sam bursting into the room. They turned to him, noticing his alarmed look.
"Sam, what is it?" Steve asked, a pit of dread forming in his stomach at the look on Sam's face.
"You need to turn on the news, it's about the kid," Sam said, confusing those who hadn't traveled through time and alarming those who had.
"FRIDAY, search local news channels for Spider-Man," Tony said immediately, activating his wrist watch.
Within seconds, a holographic screen appeared in front of him. Tony paled as he saw the caption 'Chief of Police calls for Spider-Man's arrest.
"If you're just joining us, last night the serial killer Flint Marko, who inexplicably acquired superpowers, was apprehended by an elite team of CIA operatives sent to bring him in. But according to them, the vigilante known as Spider-Man then assaulted them before being driven off. The Chief of Police had this to say."
"For years now, we have let the powered and gifted run around unchecked. The Avengers, Daredevil, Jessica Jones. No more. I will not allow Spider-Man to run around unchecked, so I am issuing an arrest warrant for him. He has twenty four hours to turn himself in before I order my men to shoot on sight," the chief of police said.
Tony turned it off, his face as white as ghost. He wasn't the only one, those who were in the know about Peter looking horrified by the news.
"This is a disaster," Natasha muttered.
"It's such bull! The kid wouldn't assault people without a good reason," Scott said hotly.
"I know. It's a lie, one that the police were obviously fed," Steve said his mind racing.
"And I think we all know someone who has the pull to do something like this," Sam said and the Avengers understood immediately.
"You think Ross is behind this?" Tony asked and Brice stiffened.
"Who else can bribe a police chief into calling a manhunt for Spider-Man? Plus, it would work in his favor by making the public in favor of The Accords," Sam pointed out.
"And it fits his MO of hunting down powered people so he can get his hands on them," Bruce said bitterly, remembering his own experiences of being hunted by Ross.
"Either way, it looks like the war just started," Steve said grimly, knowing they had to start coming up with a plan to deal with Ross, quickly.
While its filler, it sets up both Peter's arc and the Accords storyline. Hope you guys enjoyed it.
