Another written by Zexoguy/Zexo87. How I imagine Rocky would be involved with Lucy's social life.
Another day after school and the Royal Woods Cemetary was just as dark and overcast as ever. It was time once again for the Mortician's Club to have their daily after school meeting. Only this time, President Lucy Loud had allowed her boyfriend Rocky Spokes to sit in as a guest. Ever since he met Lucy, Rocky had been fascinated with goth culture, so he asked her if he could attend one of their meetings to see what they talked about. Plus, he figured he should probably get to know his girlfriend's friends a little.
Once all the members were seated, Lucy banged her bone gavel on the pedestal, gaining everyone's attention. "I call this meeting of the Mortician's Club to order," she declared. "First order of business, I'd like to introduce you all to my boyfriend, Rocky Spokes." She pointed to the curly ginger-haired boy sitting next to her. He smiled and waved hello.
The goths all stared at him with a look of surprise. "This is your boyfriend?" asked Morpheus. "No offense, Lucy, but I just never imagined you with someone so... colorful." Rocky recoiled a bit, suddenly feeling rather self-conscious among this group.
"Just give him a chance. I'm sure you'll all like him once you get to know him," Lucy defended. Suddenly, Rocky was not feeling so sure of himself. He wanted Lucy's friends to like him, but now he was worried about what might happen if they didn't. "Now then, let us commence with our weekly bat meditation."
"Bat meditation? What's that?" Rocky asked.
"It's where we try to connect with our inner bat spirits by hanging upside down from a tree branch," Lucy explained. "It helps prepare us for the day when we finally become true vampires."
"Really? Cool. Can I try?"
"Sure." So, Rocky joined the others as they all hung upside down from the largest branch of a nearby dead tree. "Now, fold your arms, close your eyes and picture yourself as a bat."
Rocky did as Lucy instructed. With his eyes closed, he imagined himself as a bat flying through a clear night sky. At first, he felt a sense of freedom and joy, like there was nothing that could weigh him down. Then he actually started to flap his arms like a pair of wings, which made him lose his grip on the branch and plummet straight towards the ground. He groaned in pain as he landed hard on his head. Lucy and the others cringed at the painful sight. "Next time, I'll wear a helmet," he declared.
Next, it was time for the club to practice their fortunetelling. Once again, Rocky decided to take a stab at it. He put on the mystic turban and sat down at the crystal ball. He tried his hardest to focus on seeing the future. "I... I think I see something!" he said excitedly.
"What do you see?" asked Dante.
"It's... It's..." Rocky looked very closely at the crystal ball, but when he saw the magnified face of a spider on the other side of it, he screamed and jumped out of his chair. When he saw that it was really just a tiny little spider, he groaned at having embarrassed himself yet again.
"I'm sorry. I just can't do this," Rocky said as he walked away with a face full of sadness. Lucy followed after him and placed a concerned hand on his shoulder.
"Rocky, what's wrong?" she asked.
Rocky sighed. "I really wanted to fit in with you and your friends, Lucy, but I just can't seem to do any of this goth stuff right. It's really cool and all and you're really cool, but I guess it doesn't matter because no matter how hard I try, I'm never gonna be a true goth like you guys." All of a sudden, tears started to form in the boys eyes. "Maybe... maybe I'm just not right for you after all."
"No!" Lucy exclaimed as she grabbed her boyfriend by both his shoulders and looked him straight in the eyes (through her bangs). "Please don't say that!"
"Rocky, it's okay if you're not completely goth like us," Persephone said.
"Yes. We really appreciate you taking the time to understand us. And we've really had fun hanging out with you today," said Boris.
"And we can tell how much Lucy really likes you," said Haiku. "And if you're willing to put yourself through all of this just for her, then you must really like her, too."
"Rocky, if I've learned anything from watching my older siblings, it's that people don't have to be exactly the same to be compatible with each other," Lucy assured him with a smile. "I may live for the darkness, but even I need a little ray of sunshine now and then. So I guess what I'm saying is, I like you because you're so different from me."
Lucy and Rocky blushed and smiled at each other. Then, Lucy gave him a small kiss on his cheek. Normally, the goths weren't too fond of PDA's, but in this case, since it was one of their friends, they made an exception. Each one of them cracked a genuine smile.
"Thanks, Lucy," said Rocky. "That makes me feel a lot better."
"As far as I'm concerned, you, Richard Spokes, are officially one of us," said Bertrand.
That gave Lucy an idea. "In fact, all in favor of making Rocky an honorary member of the Mortician's Club say 'aye.'"
Every one of the members responded with a resounding "Aye!"
"Motion passed," declared Lucy. "Welcome to the club... Rocky Bear." Hearing Lucy use her nickname for him public made the boy blush even harder.
"Congratulations, Rocky," said Haiku. "As long as you're Lucy's boo, you'll always have a place here with us."
Rocky felt extremely flattered knowing that his girlfriend's friends had fully accepted him. And knowing that no matter how different they may be, he and Lucy truly did care for one another.
