Chapter 70: Healing the Unicorn
In the lobby of Eri was now well rest and was now up. She also activated her magical girl transformation which no one could blame her. After all she was wearing a hospital gown, even if it was a quirk produced dress, it was far better than what she was wearing.
"You're so cute Eri!" gushed Ochaco.
Eri blushed.
"Yeah…" said Amajiki.
"Thank you…" said Eri quietly.
That was when Toshinori returned with a shopping bag that her old face on it.
"I am here with gifts!" said Toshinori.
"Only one bag?" asked Ochaco.
"I didn't want to spoil her too much." Said Toshinori, "Plus I figured that she's going to get more toys."
"Those are for me." Said Eri.
"Just some plushies of me." Said Toshinori, "Well before I bonded with young Izuku…"
Eri nodded.
He gave her the bag and she took out an All Might Squishmallow.
"Oh it's so squishy!" said Eri hugging it.
Izuku laughed at Eri's reaction, that after everything she was finally happy.
Though he realized a good chunk of it was that during the telepathic conversations everyone did their best to project love and comfort to her. So that helped a lot on her psyche.
That why she felt so safe, she felt everyone's positive emotions.
"Where are the others?" asked Toshinori.
He knew that Inko, Hado, Toru as well as Melissa and Tsuyu went shopping a store that wasn't far away. Heck she even gave them a credit card to use.
"Oh Kacchan, Shoto and Tenya wanted to take advantage of the offer to use the training room without limits. Kirishima and Aizawa went with them to make sure they didn't cause too much damage." Explained Izuku.
"Oh have you told Aizawa that Young Yaoyorozu knows out about Eri?" asked Toshinori.
"We need to." Said Izuku.
"One your classmates knows?" asked Togata concerned.
"Just that I bonded with Eri and that she was a that situation." Said Izuku.
"She found out due to the gem colors." Said Ochaco, "If she didn't point it out we honestly wouldn't have known how bad it was…"
"Yeah…" sighed Izuku, "But I already inform Sir Nighteye about her."
"I'm actually considering asking Aizawa to give her extra credit. Even if she stumbled onto something she shouldn't have." Said Toshinori.
Izuku and Ochaco nodded. They knew when they got to the dorms they had to tell her that.
After a while… those that used the training room returned.
"You guys got it out of your system?" asked Izuku.
"For now…" growled out Katsuki.
"Oh is that an All Might Squishmallow?" asked Kirishima.
"Oh Eri he's cool! He's Shitty Hair! I told you about him." Said Katsuki.
"Really?" asked Eri.
"You told her about me?" asked Kirishima blushing a little.
"Of course I did." Said Katsuki rolling her eyes.
"Should you be swearing in front of her?" asked Togata.
"She was stuck in a Yakuza compound." Pointed out Katsuki.
"Oh yeah…" laughed Togata.
"Oh Mr. Aizawa there's something we should tell and Sir Nighteye already knows." Said Izuku nervously.
"First just call me Eraser when we're out in public… second what?" asked Aizawa.
"Yaoyorozu found out about Eri." Said Izuku.
Aizawa looked at Izuku.
"Did she find out on her own?" he asked Aizawa.
"She did." Aid Tenya, "She in fact noticed because of the colors of her gem."
Aizawa nodded.
"That is a subtle thing that most students wouldn't notice. So it doesn't count as outright telling her." Said Aizawa.
Izuku, Ochaco, Tenya, Katsuki and Shoto nodded in agreement.
"Oh please tell me you didn't destroy the training room too much." Aid Izuku.
"I made sure I kept the damage to a minimum." Said Aizawa.
"Even if we are angry and upset we shouldn't take advantage of Sir Nighteye's offer." Said Tenya.
"Plus you work here." Said Shoto.
Izuku sweat dropped.
"Yeah… that's a good point." Agreed Toshinori.
Eri looked at the other plushies that Toshinori had gotten her.
Sir Nighteye came down.
"Are they still shopping?" asked Sir Nighteye.
"They are." Confirmed Izuku.
He looked at Eri who was very nervous.
"Don't worry Eri! This is Sir Nighteye, he's a good man." Said Izuku.
"That's right." Said Sir Nighteye,.
He held out his hand to Eri.
Eri was nervous but he took it.
He moved his hand as if to make sure he was touching her skin and looked directly into her eyes.
Both Toshinori and Togata were concerned.
"I will make sure to watch Chisaki and his men and make sure they won't find out." He promised.
Eri nodded hoping he was being honest.
Izuku noticed the looks on their faces.
"Oh I like that plushy." Said Izuku to Eri about the one she was holding.
:Really?" asked Eri.
"Mirai." Whispered Toshinori.
"I didn't see them taking her back." Said Sir Nighteye
Toshinori breathed a sigh of relief .
"I doubt anyone would get to her." Said Sir Nighteye "Especially Nezu once he learns what she went through."
"Wait…" said Toshinori, "Have Nezu signed that agreement with you?"
"Yes, he cannot take over any of my cases unless I give the okay." Said Sir Nighteye.
Toshinori nodded.
It was probably for the best that Nezu didn't get involved in this case beyond helping Inko with laws and paperwork. Because knowing the principial and his story with experimentation, he would rain down hell on Chisaki.
Toshinori then shuddered.
Sir Nighteye couldn't blame him for the shuddering…
Not too long later the shopping group returned.
"Oh is that your magical girl dress?" asked Toru.
Eri nodded.
"Oh it's so cute!" said Toru.
Eri blushed.
"Don't worry Eri we got you some clothes you change into so you don't have to wear your magical girl costume." Said Inko.
"But I like my magical girl dress." Said Eri.
"But we don't know what your quirk is…" said Izuku, "Or how it's power as a magical girl."
"But I don't have a quirk." Said Eri.
It became very quiet.
"I have a curse…" she whispered.
"Who told you that?" asked Ochaco.
"Was it Chisaki?" asked Shoto narrowing her eyes.
"O made my dad disappear." Whimpered Eri, "I'm cursed."
"No Eri you're not." Said Melissa.
"You have a quirk." Said Izuku, "And I'll show you how it works! I'll figure it out! You're not cursed at all."
Sir Nighteye smiled when he said that.
"What is it Mirai?" whispered Toshinori.
"I didn't see anything bad in her vision." He asked whispered.
Though he briefly looked at Mirio but then back at Toshinori.
"However one of the things I saw as him reassuring her something." Whispered Sir Nighteye, "I think he find out a good use for her quirk."
Toshinori nodded.
"Eri whatever your power is. It's not a curse!" said Izuku.
"If anyone can show you… it's Deku!" said Ochaco.
"He has his way with these things." Said Shoto.
"Though it took you bonding for you to get it." Muttered Katsuki.
Shoto blushed at that.
"Maybe you'll like some of the clothes mom bought you more than your magical girl costume." Said Izuku.
"Okay…" said Eri.
Eri managed to pick out one of many dressed and outfits they got for her and she got changed.
"If you're shoes hurt we're get new ones for you as soon as possible." Said Inko.
Eri nodded.
They finally took the cars back though Toshinori decided to head back to UA on the express route herself.
In the car that Izuku, Katsuki and Ochaco were in Izuku was thinking kind of outload as her muttering to himself.
"How can those two things be linked…" muttered Izuku, "They have to be connected somehow."
They let him muttered for a bit out decided to ask him.
"What are you talking about?" asked Katsuki.
"Sorry it's just I'm trying to figure out what Eri's quirk might be." Sighed Izuku, "She made her father vanish and her blood is being used to destroy to Quirks… I can't figure out the connection."
"Well it's your job to figure it out." Said Ochaco.
"Look tomorrow just fucking figure out after school." Said Katsuki.
Izuku knew the rest of the afternoon and evening would be helping Eri adjust to UA.
When they took Eri to see Recovery Girl first.
While Eri was sacred, Izuku activated telepathy with her to make sure certain things didn't scare her.
Recovery Girl knew not to do any blood tests.
Still she we a good patient with them all promising that Recovery Girl won't hurt her.
In fact when it was all over Revery Girl asked her.
"What your favorite fruit?" she asked.
"Apple…" she said quietly.
Recovery Girl went through a nearby jar and pulled out a quite a few green gummies that she felt was a good amount.
Eri ate one and her eyes lit up.
"They apple!" she said.
Izuku laughed.
"Come on brat! Let's show you where you'll be living." Said Katsuki.
"What about Inko?" asked Eri.
"I have to talk to Recovery Girl." Said Inko.
Eri nodded.
Once Eri was out.
"She in nearly perfect health." Said Recovery Girl.
"what do you mean nearly perfect?" asked Inko.
She was worried that Izuku's healing wasn't perfect.
"Don't worry I'm assuming what I'm worried happened after the healing." Said Recovery Girl, "But she's showing signs of having Quirk Enhancers in her system."
Inko paled.
"I know…" sighed Recovery Girl.
Inko gripped the skirt she was wearing.
"That monster." She practically growled out.
"I don't all of the details but I can tell that whoever it was did something terrible to her, not just this." Muttered Recovery Girl.
Inko nodded and shortly afterwards left.
Thankfully when they got to Inko apartment they found a spar room (that was there just in case) now had a best in there.
"Don't worry Eri! We got you sheets and blankets!" said Toru holding up one of the shopping bags.
They had a couple sets of sheers and Eri picked the set she wanted first (that had rainbow and alicorns on it) they decorated the walls with some cute posters some with cute stuff on it along with some posters that Toshinori had gotten after realizing that Eri's walls might be plain so she went back to Might Tower to pick them up.
Eri was really happy with Toshinori promising she'll be among the first to get posters of how she looks now when they are available.
Afterwards they all watched some movies that Eri and not so surprisingly Shoto had never seen.
They also ate dinner together with Inko making Katsudon as Eri was curious about that.
They did have to eventually leave because of curfew.
"Don't worry Eri! I will call you." Said Izuku.
Eri nodded.
They all got back to the dorms. They found that several of their classmates seemed to be waiting for them. After all more than half the class left for the day and hadn't come back.
"Don't worry we're all okay!" said Kirishima.
"We just had a really busy day to due to Work Studies." Said Tsuyu.
"And we had to do something afterwards." Said Izuku.
"What about you four?" asked Mina.
"We got dragged into something." Muttered Katsuki.
Ochaco approached Yaoyorozu who were among those that waited for them.
"Yaomomo can I talk to you about something?" asked Ochaco.
"Of course." She replied.
Ochaco led her to a spot where the others soon joined and Yaoyorozu noticed that things weren't tense.
"Wait… do you have good news?" she asked.
"Eri's safe and she's with my mom." Said Izuku.
"That's such a relief." Said Yaoyorozu.
"The reason why we're so late is that we were helping her adjust to Inko's apartment." Said Ochaco.
Yaoyorozu nodded.
"We can't tell you everything. Only that she's safe and there's a good chance you'll meet her in the next few days." Said Tenya.
Yaoyorozu nodded remembering what Katsuki said earlier .
The next day at lunch, none of the students left the classroom yet.
"Hey!" called out Inko.
"Mamadoriya!" cheered Mina.
That was when all of the students noticed Eri hiding behind Inko holding onto her All Might squishmallow.
Many of the class were shocked.
"It's okay!" said Izuku.
"You wanted to have lunch with us, right?" asked Izuku.
"I do…" said Eri .
"So this is Eri?" asked Yaoyorozu bent down to Eri, "My name is Momo… it'd nice to meet you. I heard about what you went through and I'm glad you're okay."
She then created a small nesting doll that looked like Izuku in his hero costume and gave to Eri.
"Here, it's a gift." Said Yaoyorozu.
Eri's eyes sparkled as she took it.
"Thank you!" she cheered.
"You're very welcome!" said Yaoyorozu.
"Wait! You heard about her?" asked Mina.
"Wait! IS that the magical girl necklace?" asked Mineta noticing Eri's necklace.
"It was an accident." Said Izuku, "She needed help and my quirk reacted."
"Something came up with her, and now I'm taking care of her." Said Inko.
"And fucking ask." Said Katsuki, "It's none of your business!"
Most of the class decided it was better not to press.
"Dude should you be swearing in front the little kid?" asked Kaminari.
"Fuck you!" yelled Katsuki.
"Where she was being raised had a lot of people who swore." Said Izuku.
"Don't ask." Muttered Katsuki .
The class didn't know just decided to drop getting the feeling that more was going on.
"So what do you want to try for lunch?" asked Ochaco.
"I don't know yet." Said Eri.
She ended up getting Cold Soba much to Shoto's joy.
During class Toshinori revealed that Izuku was now cleared.
"Really?" asked Mineta.
"yeah… whatever was causing the fainted spells cleared up." Said Izuku.
"What was causing them?" asked ?Mina.
"I can't say right now." Said Izuku, "It has to do with something from work studies."
That made the rest of the class drop, it we true thankfully. So that helped.
After school, Izuku sent massage to Eri that he couldn't hang out that afternoon but he would try to be later.
"Don't worry what I'm. planning to do will help you." Thought Izuku.
"It will?" asked Eri.
"I promise." Thought Izuku.
"Don't worry me and Icy Hot will make sure that Deku will be okay." Thought Katsuki.
Eri didn't respond but it was clear she believed it.
And so after school , Izuku, Shoto and Katsuki were in one of the training grounds.
Izuku activated Eri's quirk and a horn grew out of his head much larger than Eri's.
"Look like her horn it part of her quirk." Said Shoto.
"Yeah." Said Izuku,.
Izuku felt energy in the horn.
He picked up a rock and channeled energy into the rock.
But nothing happened at all.
"Maybe I need something else." Said Izuku.
Katsuki tossed him an apple core.
"Why this?" asked Izuku .
"Why not?" asked Katsuki with a shrug.
Izuku decided to try it,
He tried to pour a little bit of energy, just a small into the apple core.
He was shocked.
"What happened?" asked Katsuki.
Izuku held up a pristine apple.
"What the fuck…" mumbled Katsuki.
Is there anything else you want to try it on?" asked Shoto.
Izuku had an idea.
"I don't know if I should get him involved or we should try to catch one or if I should ask for his help…" said Izuku.
"What are you talking about?" asked Katsuki.
Izuku told him his idea.
"Get him involved, he might be the only one who could help." Said Katsuki.
He sent a text to Koda asked for help namely if he could wrangle him a butterfly.
Koda reluctantly agreed and showed up at the training ground which was thankfully the one that was a forestry.
"Thank you much." Said Izuku.
Koda nodded then yelled at the top of his lungs. "Any butterfly who could hear me come to my friend!"
Multiple butterflies flew to Izuku.
One flew to his hand.
"Um…" said Izuku.
"All but the one in his hand leave!" ordered Koda.
The rest of the butterflies flew away.
"I'm sorry little butterfly." Apologized Izuku.
He once again channeled energy in time to into the butterfly he stopped after a few seconds.
He looked at his hands.
"I knew it!" said Izuku.
"What?" asked Katsuki.
He showed the three of them, and the three of them were shocked. In his hands was a chrysalis. Not only that but the horn that came from Eri's quirk disappeared.
"What were you doing?" signed Koda.
"We didn't know what Eri's quirk does." Said Izuku, "Well… now we do…"
"It's some kind of time manipulation quirk." Muttered Katsuki.
"Yeah…" said Izuku, "She can revert organic things to earlier states."
The way Izuku worded they realized how her blood was being used as a weapon. Now they knew.
Well Koda wasn't in the loop.
"I won't tell anyone." Signed Koda knowing that a quirk like that was dangerous in the wrong hands.
"There's a reason why we're keeping quiet about everything." Said Katsuki.
Koda paled realizing that whatever was going on was bad and he nodded.
They knew they had to tell the others what they discovered.
Though it would be via telepathy (as it was better not
after parting ways with Koda.
"I found what Eri's quirk is." Thought Izuku.
"What is it?" asked Ochaco.
Izuku explained what he had found out. And everyone was shocked as any sort of time manipulation quirks were extremely rare.
"When you get back… can you show us?" asked Inko, "It might help Eri."
Izuku wanted to but he felt something.
"I… I can't use Eri's quirk… I don't know why…" thought Izuku.
Everyone grew concerned.
And that was when he felt properly felt it…
It wasn't so much that he couldn't use Eri's quirk… it was still there but more like it was drained away.
"I think… I think Eri's quirked… used the power of itself to run." Thought Izuku.
"What?" asked almost everyone else.
"Oh that explain it!" thought Toshinori.
"What do you mean?" asked Melissa.
"I've been honestly wondering something about his copy of One for All. He's able to use the quirk's power but I wasn't sure how…" thought Toshinori.
"Because it's a stockpile quirk." Thought Melissa.
"I just ignored but I knew his copy had to running on something." Thought Toshinori.
"It runs on the power of my copied quirks!" thought Izuku.
"That's right! It uses the power of your quirk copy and translates that to strength!" thought Toshinori.
"And Eri's quirk runs the same way! But instead using super strength it uses the energy to reverse things!" thought Izuku.
"But why would it turn on Eri's quirk?" asked Ochaco.
"I think it's because it's the newest one." Thought Izuku, "If I used more energy, it would have drained One for All, then Wings since it's linked to Melissa followed by Invisibility and you get the idea."
"So when you bond with Tensei it will then use his version of Engine for the default." Thought Tenya.
"Well that's the theory." Thought Izuku.
"Either way you should tell Sir Nighteye what you found out." Thought Toshinori.
"I'll do that later." Thought Izuku.
"What do you have to do before then?" asked Toshinori.
"Play with Eri." Thought Izuku.
Toshinori laughed in response.
Still he learned what Eri's quirk was…
And with what he found out it was indeed scary… but hopefully he would find a way to make sure she didn't think it was a curse. But for now… he just had to play with her and cheer her up a bit.
Next Time: The heroes plan to raid the continued. Meanwhile Chiaki is angry about Eri's disappearance and try to figure how she disappeared. What will happen? Find out next time!
A/N: Yep! I finally explained how the stock pile works. Basically both One for All and Rewind are powered the by the quirk copies. Thankfully when Izuku uses the quirk, the energy of the quirk will be refiled either naturally or interacting with the bond (IE: telepathic conversation and the magical who's quirk is belongs to transforming, it will also be revealed in story next chapter). So don't worry rewind isn't lost forever, it just has a limit on it that he can only use it so often... though the more bonds he makes in the future the easier he will be able to use it...
