Chapter 4
Roxy
It was the end of her first class and it felt like a blurr. Valerie thought it would be a great idea to get to know her new class by asking them how much they already knew about the Earth and to get to know them a bit too. She was delighted at the show of hands that were raised however the questions were more directed at her. Students were asking the questions about "Was she really from Earth?", "Was she really human?"or "Why do you dress like that?" which she was happy to answer. She giggled at the fashion question and simply said "Why not!" with a smile. Valerie had then turned to face the blackboard to begin writing with some chalk. As she turned her back her ears picked up some whispers saying how weird she is. Valerie just supply ignored them. She received a lot of those comments when she taught in Elementry School back on Earth, she didn't care what others thought. It wasn't long until another quesiton was raised "How did a non magical human like you get accepted to teach at a fairy school?". The whole class gasped! She wasn't too impressed with the tone the girl had used but she knew that the question was going to come. Valerie took a deep breath and turned to face the class to present the class with an honest answer but before she could she heard a voice coming from a girl who was sitting in the second row. "Clarice! Leave her alone!" the purple haired girl shouted to a blonde haired girl in pigtails in the back row by this stage the whole class had all their eyes on her. Valerie was impressed by the sudden courage from this girl who quietened down the pigtailed girl but it wasn't long until the pigtailed girl spoke shortly again while pointing towards the blackboard, "The picture...on the blackboard...its moving!". The whole class then in a flash turned to look at the blackboard and they all gasped. Valerie knew that they spotted that the picture she draw of planet Earth was spinning like a merry-go-round. She smiled again as her earrings lit up for a split second and before anyone else could ask her anymore questions the bell rang to end the class.
Her class quickly scuttled out of the room while the purple haired girl from before followed behind them with her books tightly held in her arms. Valerie watched her in hope to catch her eye but it wasn't working so she sneakily knocked some books off the desk. The girl turned as she heard the thump. "Ooops!" Valerie simply said as she looked at the fallen books on the ground as she really wanted to grab the girls attention. Valerie was so impressed as she was the only student who could tell Valerie about her knowledge of Earth and was able to answer most of the Earth related questions. "Oh no, let me help you!" the girl kindly said to Valerie as she bent down to pick up the books, "Why thank you! Impressive work today!" Valerie said to her, the girl placed the books back on the desk. The girl smiled "Your welcome, i enjoyed your class today" the girl told Valerie, the professor was delighted that at least someone enjoyed her first class at a fairy school. Valerie went to sit at the desk "Thank you that's very kind, tell me what is your name?" she asked "My name is Roxy and i am orginally from Earth!" Roxy answered politely. "You mean your human too?" Valerie asked with a big smile, the girl giggled "Well i thought i was until a few years ago i discovered that i really was a fairy...the fairy of animals!" Roxy said with a smile. "Wow that's amazing, so you originally would've gone to a normal human school before coming here?" Valerie asked Roxy, "Yep, i am understanding your way of teaching!" Roxy answered back with a smile. Suddenly another bell rang, "Oh i better run to my next class, i'm looking forward to what you have in store for us Professor!" Roxy happily told the professor, Valerie smiled and her earrings lit up again. Roxy looked at Valerie in confusion for a minute as she had noticed the earrings "Everything alright?" Valerie asked Roxy, "Ahhhh yes everything is fine! Thank you! Well see you later and good luck!" Roxy wished as she was running out the door. Valerie answered back while watching the girl almost fly out the door "Goodbye Roxy! It was lovely meeing you!". Suddenly Valerie didn't feel quite as nervous being here at Alfea at least she now knew someone who was originally from Earth like her.
Soon it was the end of the day from classes and Valerie decided to go have a stroll outside for some air. She also wanted to give Goldie a walk and a play after being locked up in their room day. As soon as she retrieved Goldie and placed some treats in her pocket, he climbed on to her left shoulder happily "I'm sorry Goldie, i know you must have been lonely, lets go for a stroll hey?" Valerie asked the monkey while tickling him underneath his neck. Goldie while appreciating having his neck tickled made a happy monkey cry sound agreeing to her suggestion. As they walking through the corridors, many of the girls stopped to say hello or wanted to pat Goldie which Goldie was very happy with. "Awww he is so cute" one student said then the other "What's his name?". Goldie really was enjoying the attention until Valerie decided that they better keep going if they want to get outside for a stroll before it started to get dark. "Looks like you made some friends Goldie" Valerie said to the monkey who was upset that she was taking him away from his new admirers "Don't worry there will be plently of time to see your friends again!" she added as she gave Goldie a treat from her pocket.
They made their way to the courtyard and the sun was still shining brightly. She looked around and noticed Professor Palladium was just finishing off a class. Goldie jumped down from Valerie's shoulder, he wanted to have a look "Oh no Goldie i suggest you stay with me, although it does look exciting!" Valerie told him as she quickly caught him. Valerie went to sit on a step and gave Goldie some more treats. They could see the class were involved what looked like a obstacle course set in the air "Shame that we missed the action!" Valerie thought to herself but suddenly she heard Professor Palladium call out a name. Valerie looked towards the floating obstacle course and noticed a girl coming away from the crowd of girls "That looks like Roxy!" she said out loud. Then there was a burst of rainbow light that came from where Roxy was standing "Could this be Roxy turning into her fairy form? What a treat!" Valerie excitably said to Goldie. The light then disappeared and in place where Roxy was standing was now a beautiful young fairy with big pink and green wings wearing a green sparkly outfit. It wasn't long until Roxy began to fly to complete the floating course in the air "Amazing!" Valerie said as she watched on.
After Roxy had landed and completed the course the class applauded, so did Valerie. She even rooted for her "WAHOO!" she shouted. The whole class including Palladium all turned their heads towards Valerie, she didn't care what they were thinking. Just then Professor Palladium dismissed the class and made the obstacle course disappear with the wave of his arms in a flash of light. The class began to head back inside all except for Roxy still in her fairy form walked towards Valerie. Valerie still clapping was now on her feet with Goldie back on her shoulder. "Roxy that was amazing!" Valerie said as she congratulated Roxy "Thank you Professor, it was a training session for a test in a couple of weeks, thankfully this course was a nice small one today" Roxy happily answered. Roxy then moved her arm towards Goldie "What a cute little Golden Lion Tamarin Monkey you have! Is he yours?" Roxy asked Valerie while attemping to tickle the monkey under his chin "Yes he is, his name is Goldie!" Valerie happily answered while digging her hand into her pocket for another treat. Just then Goldie climbed on to Roxy from her arm on to her shoulder "Well look at that! He doesn't do that to many people only myself and my sister!" Valerie said in amazement. "I'm good with animals i guess!" Roxy said with a smile "That's right your the fairy of animals! Like you mentioned this morning!" Valerie happily remembered. Roxy smiled and nodded, Goldie really was taking a liking to Roxy. "Roxy, you have a beautiful fairy form! How do you change back?" Valerie asked in wonder "Oh like this!" the fairy closed her eyes and then in less then a second her glittery outfit and wings disappeared "I'm currently training to earn my Enchantix!" Roxy then added. "Enchantix?" Valerie asked in confusion "What's that?", Roxy then looked at Goldie who was still on her shoulder "Oh final fairy form, there are many different fairy transformations in this realm". Valerie was very fascinated and interested to learn that there were many fairy forms out there "Really? Thats incrediable! I'd love to hear all about them whilst i'm here! Looks like i''ll need to do some study, Oooo how i love to learn about new things!" Valerie happily told Roxy. Roxy who was petting Goldie smiled "i've got some time now, i can explain a bit about Enchantix power, well from what i know at least!" Roxy asked Valerie. Valerie nodded and smiled, they began to walk towards the well in the middle of the courtyard and they both leaned against the well while chattering.
"So you earn your Enchantix by sacrificing yourself or saving someone from your realm? That being Earth? In a life threatening situation! That sounds..." Valerie questioned Roxy "Dangerous! Yeah! The things we have to do if we want to achieve something like a fairy form! Its crazy!" answered Roxy "I was going to say what an experience!" Valerie then answered. Roxy looked at the women starting to think that she maybe her fellow classmates were right maybe she is a little odd but there was something that was likeable about her that she liked "So what's instore for our next classes Professor?" Roxy asked as she placed Goldie in her arms and who was now enjoying being cuddled. Valerie got up, walked a couple of steps still with her back turned at Roxy and smiled "Oh, you'll see just you wait!" she said on her breath.
