Chapter 7

A Visit from The Head Mistress

6 weeks had passed since i had witnessed Roxy's amazing Enchantix transformation. I remember that day clear as a bell and am very thankful i kinda had a part in this. As i was the one being rescued from those awful evil witches and brave Roxy came to my aid unlocking her first transformation into an Enchantix fairy. Since that day i have been doing lots of research on Enchantix fairies on what their powers are, what can they do that charmix fairies can't. I had been in the library borrowing heaps of books to help me with my research. The librarian pixie began to notice and was happy to assist me with my interest providing i wasn't considering on doing anything evil.

One late stormy Sunday afternoon i was in my room with my nose in a book "Enchantix Fairies and These are Their Stories" when i heard a knock on the door. It woke Goldie from her nap. I got up to answer the door to find that it was Head Mistress Faragonda! She came bearing her kindly smile "Ah Valerie, i just came to see how you are doing this rainy Sunday afternoon?" she happily asks me with her arms behind her back. "Doing swell Head Mistress!" i reply to her with a big smile "I was just caught up in a fascinating book from the library about Enchantix fairies". Faragonda smiled "Glad to see that you are interested in our culture!" she happily says to me "Oh very much so!" i replied, then there was a clap of thunder and the lights began to flicker. I began to wonder if that was magic or natural, since i've been here its been hard to determine what's magic and what's natural!

"Pardon me Head Mistress but where are my manners would you like to come in?" i asked as i put my arm out to invite her in if she wished "No no need Valerie, i just wanted to come by to inform you that i have allowed your request!" Faragonda tells me. I begin to get excited! A week ago i had been telling the students about of my past classes on Earth and told them about a particular class who i had twice in a row (well almost before my younger sister took over) when i taught at Walkerville Elementry. I told them about all the magical field trips we had and how they loved to learn. After expressing to the students how much i miss Dorothy-Ann, Keesha, Tim, Carlos, Phoebe, Ralphie, Wanda and Arnold, i didn't realise that i had other ears listening in. It wasn't to the point when Roxy had pointed out that Faragonda was at the door listening in. She gave me such a shock as i wasn't aware she was there. The Head Mistress just smiled at me and walked off. I could hear the students whispering and making "Ooooo" sounds. I immediately tell the class to be quiet and to behave while my head was spinning in wonder "Had i done something wrong?".

That afternoon, i was in my room and had just finished some marking. I began looking at past photos of the class on my laptop with Dorothy-Ann, Keesha, Tim, Carlos, Phoebe, Ralphie, Wanda and Arnold and smiled. I really did miss those kids and would often wonder what they were up to now. They would be teenagers now the same ages as the students i have now. Thankfully i had one ex-students email the delightful Dorothy-Ann! So i decided to send her a quick hello email to see how she was doing. Then hear a knock on my door to find Griselda with her glasses on her nose holding a clipboard. She tells me to go to the Head Mistresses office at once. I glupped and thanked her for the message before Griselda walked away. I fed Goldie and told her that i would be back soon as i closed the door behind me.

Quickly walking down the corridors, some of the students were hanging around staring at me & whispering only this time i think it wasn't because of my outfit even through i was wearing my nature dress that day. Made it to Faragonda's office and quietly knocked on the door, i hear a friendly sounding "Come in!" coming from the otherside, thats when i turned the knock and entered. Before i could even say "You wished to see me Head Mistress!" Faragonda immediately began to speak to me first "Ah Valerie, good to see you and thankyou for coming to see me!" she to me sounded cool as a cucumber. I felt slightly more relaxed "Please come and take a seat dear!" she asks me as she points to one of the chairs facing her desk. I sit down...After having that chat that day we discussed how i missed my ex-students and she wondered if i was feeling a bit home-sick. I explained to her that i was a little but i wasn't trying to let it effect my work. I apologized for telling the girls about my classes on Earth but she immediately explained that it was no problem at all! The Head Mistress wanted to hear more stories and said to continue telling those stories as it may inspire the fairies. She also asked if i kept in touch with any of my ex-students and asked if any of them would like to come and visit me HERE AT ALFEA! I then come up with idea that maybe because i was still having difficulty getting through to the fairies that i could invite some ex-students to come and help out and meet the fairies. "They would love to meet you, the staff and most of all the fairies! Although they most likely will not believe in this!" i remember saying to Faragonda. Thats when Faragonda mentioned about Believix fairies another fairy transformation! The Winx use to be Believix fairies and they were on Earth a few years ago helping humans all over the world to believe in magic and fairies. So no doubt my ex-students would now believe in fairies from the help of Bloom and her friends.

I loved the idea of them coming to visit and thats when i had a light blub moment although i was unsure how the Head Mistress would take it. I asked if they could prehaps enroll as exchange students next term for a couple of weeks. Faragonda got up and looked through her window with her hands behind her back while i remained seated. There was a long pause and a "Hmmmm" sound. "I'm sorry to say we do not usually allow boys here at this school..." Faragonda tells me seriously, "I can arrange for the girls to come, i'm sure that will not be a problem! i answered to her. I then began to think and quietly whispered to myself while looking up at the ceiling " and i think i might have an idea that will help them blend in!", "What's that?" Faragonda asked with her eye brows raised "Oh nothing Head Mistress i'm just so pleased thats all!" i answered back to her.

Now back to the present and back in Faragonda presents, i was shocked and excited that my request had been granted by her. I thanked her ever so much and told her that i will email Dorothy-Ann right now and ask if she, Keesha, Wanda and Phoebe would like to visit providing it doesn't clash with their own engagements. "Very Good, please let me know by the end of term if they are to be attending" Faragonda simply says to me before leaving the room and gentley closing the door behind her. I ran around the room like a crazy school girl in excitement. Goldie joined in to! I didn't know what to do with myself, i then turn towards Goldie and placed her in my arms and sat on the bed where the book i was reading earlier was place. She smiled at me as i spoke to her while looking the "Enchantix Fairies and These are Their Stories" from the corner of my eye "Ok Goldie, we have some work to do, oh BIKE!".
