Chapter Ten

The Arrivals

Finally today was the day! It was early morning and Valerie's guests were due to arrive at Alfea any minute, Dorothy-Ann, Keesha, Phoebe and Wanda. Valerie stood in the middle of the courtyard along with Head Mistress Faragonda beside ready to welcome them to the school. Professor Paladium was getting ready to magic up the portal to create a bridge across the magix realm and Earth while everyone else in the school were having their breakfast.

Valerie chose to wear a familar dress her outer space dress to impress complete with her planet saturn earrings. Even Faragonda commented on her outfit saying how colourful it was. "Are you nervous dear?" Faragonda asks Valerie, "No not at all! More excited then anything! Today is going to be just magic!" Valerie answered to the Head Mistress excitably "All systems ready to go Head Mistress!" Paladium yelled out to the two ladies who both were standing with their hands behind their backs. She couldn't wait to see the girls in the flesh it had been too long. They had communicated via emails but haven't seen each other in person for years. Also she couldn't wait to show them her new project, her new fairy form (minus powers for now but still been worked on). Valerie was dying to see what they thought and knew that they would be use to anything magical when it came to being in the presence of their old science teacher!

Paladium waves his arms and commanded a spell, along with the help of Faragonda. A bluey purple voltex like portal began to open much like the one that Valerie first encounted when she first came to Alfea. It was like looking in a tunnel of clouds, like a tornado on its side. It brought back memories of when she took her elementary class inside a hurricane on one of her field trips (it started at the weather station and basically went from there). Magically of course with the help again of the Magic School Bus and Liz the class pet lizard who is now being looked after by her younger sister Fiona. Valerie was so excited that she leant in to look through the portal to see if she could see anyone coming "Patience Valerie, don't worry i have a good feeling that they will be here shortly" Faragonda kindly said to Valerie placing her hand on her shoulder "I'm sorry Head Mistress! I just couldn't help myself!" Valerie calmly replied.

It wasn't long until Valerie could start hearing voices coming from the portal "Let's take a small step back Valerie" suggested Faragonda "So we do not scare them or make them feel uncomfortable!", Valerie nodded and agreed as they took a few steps back. Valerie focused on the portal and in seconds four slender figures began to appear. "Phoebe! Wanda! Keesha! DA! Valerie yelled as they submerged from the portal, "Professor Frizzle!" they all shouted at once as everyone went in for a hug. After they had hugged, Valerie went to introduce them to Head Mistress Faragonda who was smiling kindly at the group "Ladies, i would like to introduce to you all Head Mistress Faragonda, principal of Alfea College for Fairies", "Good Morning Girls, I would like to warmly welcome you all to Alfea! Its a pleasure to meet you all!" Faragonda said with a smile. All four girls nervously thanked Faragonda individually for the kind welcome as they each nervously introduced themselves. She went on the introduce them to Professor Paladium who was using his magic to close the portal. The girls were a little stunned to see that he was in fact a magic being an elf to be precised. Faragonda then went on the briefly explain what Alfea College For Fairies was all about and YES fairies are real! Also that they were only just use to having humans around on the grounds. It did raise some eyebrows between the four but Valerie just smiled and explained that she wasn't the first human that had stepped foot in Alfea but that was another story or another time. Faragonda had told Valerie about the time Alfea celebrated the Earth event Christmas for the first time to make Bloom less sad while she was still a student as the Trix had sent Ice Dragons to attack her. Then they decide to cast a trapping spell over Alfea which caused her and everyone to be in lock down. So Faragonda had magically transported her adoptive parents and some earth kids to spend Christmas with Bloom after the battle was won.

"Now then girls, today is a big day, everyone including the students should all still be in the great hall, they have all been asked to remain there so i can introduce you all then i will leave you know in the hands of your old teacher! If you need anything, you will be welcome in my office any time!" explained Faragonda before she lead the way to the great hall. "You haven't changed a bit! In appearance i mean!" Wanda said to Valerie, "Oh really Wanda! How kind! You all certainly have changed! Taller and older!" she happily answered. "The building is so beautiful!" Valerie here's Phoebe say, "Wait till you get inside Phoebe!" Valerie tells her. Keesha, DA, Wanda and Phoebe were full of questions but they knew that today was going to be a hectic day and that no time was to be wasted. However, Dorothy-Ann then comes straight up with the burning question "So Professor, do you still go on Field Trips?", Valerie saturn earrings light up like they use to when the girls were kids bringing back fun memories as that usually mean't it was time for a Field Trip. Maybe not quite in this case. They were soon interuptted by Faragonda made by this stage made it to the main doors and turned around to face Valerie and the group. She shouts "Well, would you all kindly follow me?", her eyes met with Valerie's and Valerie knew that no time was to be wasted "This way, single file please!" Valerie told her nervous looking ex-students as she led the way towards Faragonda and the main doors. "That saying brings back memories!" Keesha sighed as Phoebe, Wanda and DA while all agreed with her as they all followed their old teacher in a single file "Just like old times!" Dorothy-Ann commented.

As Faragonda led them to the great hall, all the Head Mistress could hear was the "Oo's" and "Ah's" from the guests. This made her smile. As they arrived at the closed doors of the great hall, Faragonda advised them to stay here until she announces them. Valerie went in with her and advised Keesha, DA, Phoebe and Wanda that everything will be ok and just to be themselves. Faragonda and Valerie opened the doors and went in, they peeked inside as the Head Mistress want towards a long table with adults sitting at it "They must be the teachers!" whispered Wanda. Valerie just remained standing beside the same table. They also noticed 2 long tables parallel from the staff table with what must be the students or fairies "None of them have wings!" Phoebe quietly whispers to the group just as they hear footsteps behind them which make the girls jump. It was Professor Paladium whom they met earlier "Terribly sorry, i didn't mean to settle you all! I'm very late mind if i just sneak past?" he kindly asks, the girls allow him to pass and apologize by moving out of the way. Keesha, DA, Phoebe and Wanda then all continue to peek inside. They anxiously watched as the long haired Professor Paladium took his seat at the teachers table and Faragonda began to ding a glass to get everyones attention.

Authors Note: A short description of Keesha's, Dorothy-Ann's, Phoebe's and Wanda's teenage appearance. All showing in their old respective colours.

Dorothy-Ann: Hair in pony-tail now with bangs, jeans with star embroidery, plain light purple T-Shirt and white sneakers.

Keesha: Hair with several skinny plaits also in a pony-tail, plain skinny jeans, strippy midrift purple and blue shirt along with sandals.

Phoebe: Long hair lose with fringe in a yellow side clip, red dress, yellow cardigan with sandals.

Wanda: Long hair completely lose, pink and red checked short sleeved collared shirt with knee length denim pants and pumps (shoes).

All wearing all different types of jewellery :)
