A little author's note
Hello everyone! I will be back writing "The Flight of the Magpies" soon, I've just been busy for these last few weeks. Not only because of personal reasons (making art, as always, plus I've been traveling a bit, spending some time with family and friends, and I am getting ready to start my college classes again on the 12th this month), but also because I have been editing "A Star in the Lake" a bit, after realizing that I didn't emphasize on Beverly's fever enough.
Not only did I not "emphasize" it enough, I also didn't really describe her as a feverish person XD I kinda got in the habit of describing her as "cold", I thought it was a way to paint her as "mystical" and "a part of winter," but I never stopped and realized that this is the very opposite of how a fever works. I love how ASITL looks and I am so proud of it, but this was a major mistake on my part (as well as a very dumb mistake to make, to be honest XD) and I am going chapter by chapter, editing the way I describe Beverly's body temperature and her condition in general. I am also editing other tiny things, like some moments in the dialogue and descriptions and stuff (I changed basically all of Cecil and Peter's talk in Chapter 6, for example), but the main goal of my editing spree is to fix the plothole regarding Beverly's body temperature. So yeah.
I just edited Chapters 15-22 today, so I think I am going at a pretty good pace. I'll continue writing "The Flight of the Magpies" as soon as I'm done with editing, I am so excited to continue writing it but I promised myself not to continue with TFOTM until all the editing for ASITL is done XD I'm a perfectionist and I just care too much about my work to let it stay unedited and plothole-y while I keep writing Part 2.
So, this is just a little author's note to let you know, I'll be back writing "The Flight of the Magpies" soon, but first I need to finish editing "A Star in the Lake." Thank you as always to all of you for reading. This movie means so much to me and I am very fond of my version of this tale, I feel so proud of it, I love writing about these characters. So thanks one more time, and see you again soon!
