Okay, while most would say that this chapter was faster than the last one, for me was one of the most difficult chapters to write. Since I had to duel between them both 10 times at least to comes to a simple conclusion...
It was hard and difficult to write a duel like that, so I will take a long time before doing something from an interlude like this again.
But I hope you guys enjoy it.
I'm doing my best to write everything and using Grammarly, English is not my first language, and my friends who were the pre-readers and editors has a lot of things to do IRL, so I have to do it all by myself. So I hope with that in mind, all of you would have a good fun reading this chapter.

Around the morning, the breeze of extreme speed was something that the beautiful blond hair under a flag bandana of red, white, and blue was being moved around as the fastest car around a mountain.
Under the said bandana, there was a familiar former duelist who just got the biggest win that he managed to have during a few days. With his iconic sunglasses, and instead of his delinquent jacket or hobo clothing, now there was the Armani suit, imported with great quality.
"Keith, you got the jackpot. Having a good bargain into buying a Koenigsegg car was something that nobody without a good sense of money would do. 8500 rpm, good color, nice, and perfect for my style." The man who was well dressed as he pressed the next gear to make the car even faster was nobody other than Bandit Keith, someone who used his opportunity to win good money just to buy a new suit and a new car of status. "Let's see how much this baby can do."
By pressing the pedals and stepping the accelerator, the gambler duelist was finally reaching extraordinary speeds. Until by some lack of luck, something appeared on the warnings around the screen of the wheel.
"What the? Loose part over the engine? What the hell? I just bought this car from the factory yesterday. Those cretines think they would scam me?" Bandit Keith noticed that it was the best time to stop driving, and left the car to diminish his speed, just for the next second he was finally in the middle of the street… until the car came to a stop, and wasn't able to turn on the key. "No,no, NOOO. DAMMIT. THEY ARE KOENIGSEGG, HOW DID THEY HAVE A STUPID CAR THAT CAN'T EVEN TAKE ME AROUND? THAT'S IT, I'M GOING TO SHOW THAT CRETINES THAT NOBODY MESS WITH BANDIT KEITH."
Jaden already started doing his first turn. He looked very confident with his hand since he was doing his iconic smile.
"Alright Syrus, let's see how things play out. I start by summoning Elemental HERO Heat in attack mode." Jaden places the first attack monster on the field. The debut of a new hero, a man with a mix of colors of yellow, orange, and white, as at the moment the new hero appeared, his entire body started to emit red steam, he was after all in the warm-up of the duel.

This card gains 200 ATK for each "Elemental HERO" monster you control.
"And Elemental HERO Heat has a neat effect, he gains 200 for each Elemental HERO monster I control. So that means..." Jaden smiled confidently seeing his monster becoming powerful.

"You have a monster of 1800 attack points, nice..." Syrus complimented as he could see the steam around the holograms showing the growth in power of the new hero in the field.
"Woa, 1800 in the first turn?" Jasmine was surprised, seeing monsters of level 4 with more than 1600 attack points it's always the best way to start a duel.
"Jaden already has a solid strategy. But after my duel with Syrus, I can see that if Jaden doesn't prepare himself further, it will end quicker than we might expect." Alexis concentrated as she could see, that Syrus was smiling like he wasn't either nervous or afraid... It was like Syrus already had something to counter everything Jaden might pull up.
"What do you mean by that?" Chumley who had been watching his little blue-haired friend duel for the first time, got curious until he saw Alexis pointing to Syrus, who seemed to be expecting something else from Jaden.
Jaden was already excited, but in said growing excitement he decided to give a huge surprise to his best friend.
"And now, I set 3 facedown cards and end my turn. Pretty good so far, right Sy?" Jaden smiled confidently, as the three holograms of facedown cards appeared in his side of the field, which made Syrus smile wider at the move.
"Well Jaden, it's the first turn. You never know what your opponent will do when he starts his turn. So let me give you a little taste of how serious I can be when I duel. DRAW." Syrus used the tip of his fingers and with a good pull, he took a card out of his deck which said, with a grin on his face. Another Card of Sanctity. Usually, he always thought that it sucked that the TCG and the OCG were nerfed this card since in the anime it was one of the best drawing cards ever... and now he had 2 on his hands. "Alright, let me start with this. I activate Machine Assembly Line."
At the moment Syrus activated the said card, what would be the machinery of a factory grew up behind him, as it was a full infrastructure of machines using magnets and the recycling sound of machines happening on there.

All Machine-Type monsters on the field gain 200 ATK. Each time a face-up Machine-Type monster(s) on the field is destroyed by battle or card effect, place 2 Junk Counters on this card. You can send this card to the Graveyard, then target 1 Machine-Type monster in your Graveyard whose Level is less than or equal to the number of Junk Counters that were on this card; Special Summon that target.
Everyone watched the factory in awe, as Syrus decided to give a resume to his friend.
"This card has some effects, but for now the only effect happening on the field is that all machine monsters around the field will gain 200 ATK points... Meaning." Syrus smiled as Jaden realized that would be terrible for him.
"Jaden's advantage in the first turn will not help him since Syrus uses Machine type monsters." Alexis realized what made Mindy and Jasmine look impressed into how Syrus may have worked and nullified what would be a good advantage Jaden had.
"But I'm not done yet Jaden. I set 3 cards on the field. And now I activate CARD OF SANCTITY." Syrus took one of the 3 cards he had in his hand and now activated a card which made the whole group of spectators stare in surprise. "And by activating it, Each player has to draw until they have 6 cards in their hands."

"Wait, he is going to make Jaden also draw cards, wouldn't be easier if Syrus used Pot of Greed? Giving Jaden the same quantity as he has now would take off the advantage Syrus had on this round." Chumley asked, as he couldn't understand what Syrus was planning at that moment.
"Ohhhhh, I think got it," Mindy spoke aloud, trying to think about the reason, until she realized and then slapped in her head. "He wanted to reset his hand because, now he has more cards to place on the field, and he didn't summon yet."
"That's right." Syrus smiled as he took 4 cards from the top of his deck, and Jaden also smiling at how the first turn was going. Syrus sees 4 cards in his hand. "Oh yeah, it's all coming together."
Syrus smiled as he saw Drillroid, Gambler of Legend, Limiter Removal, and Kyteroid on his hand now. And with the good cards. He decided to give Jaden a taste of the style he uses when he duels.
"Alright, I will set a monster face down and end my turn." Syrus decided to end the turn by surprising everyone by simply setting a monster down as the hologram showed the card down in front of everyone.
"That's it?" Jasmine asked as she raised her eyebrow to him. She then looked at both Jasmine and Alexis they seemed confused as well. "He made both of them draw 6 cards just to set one card and end his turn?"
"Yeah, but don't you remember that in the first turn against Alexis, he also set a monster? Maybe that's how he usually starts his duel." Mindy commented as she gave a very good point for her friend who seemed to nod towards the duel.
"Yeah, and from the look on Syrus's face, he seemed to know what he's brewing," Chumley commented as he saw Syrus being fairly relaxed at the start of the duel. But Jaden in contrast seems so excitable. "On the other hand, Jaden also knows what he is doing. Feels like a cook-off with two experienced chefs, doesn't it?"
"Well, usually every first turn we need to have confidence in our hand to make a good strategy" Alexis answered as she gave her opinion on how Syrus started to duel against her, she remembered that Syrus had some interesting strategies when it comes to his facedown monsters.
"Alright Syrus, I don't know what you are planning, but I'm going to raise to make sure to destroy this facedown card. Draw." Jaden smiled as he saw a good monster in his hand, a female hero who could also help with his play. "Alright, let's start with the debut of my new heroine. I summon Elemental HERO Lady Heat in attack position."
At the time he placed the monster on the field, it showed a good heroic woman who scorched the floor and then with the flames appeared around her body to make her own bodysuit, made of orange and white colors, as her own hair fit with the style of anime girl which showed her own good heroic poise by showing flames over her hand.

"And now that I have a new Elemental Hero monster in the field, my Elemental Hero Heat gets more 200 attack points. " Jaden said happily as the flame warrior now had even more steam around his own body.

1800 = 2000 ATK.
"2 thousand attack points? " Chumley said in alarm, as it was clearly half of the life points of each duelist. "2 attacks from him would end the duel. This monster is getting stronger every single turn."
"Yeah, Already making a lot of difference between the former duel," Alexis said as she could see how Jaden was still trying to get used to the strategy of having those new monsters. And how happy he was being by seeing such great effects on the field.
"Alrighty then, let's turn up the heat, hero!" Jaden says in excitement, feeling that it would be easy. "Lady Heat attack Syrus' facedown monster."
The heroine decides to jump towards the facedown card, and uses her flame to attack the facedown card. But then three coins immediately flew away from the facedown card, and made their way toward Jaden's direction which surprised him.
"What the-" Jaden was surprised as the little coins suddenly shot toward his shocked face. "What gives!?"
Jaden looked surprised, until he saw that his Lady Heat stopped, as on the floor, there was a blonde cowboy who was flipping his coins idly, garbed with a stetson, and dressed up in leather akin to an old western movie.
"Jaden, your Lady Heat has 1300 attack points, while my Gambler of Legend has 1400 defense points. You are just receiving the drawback of your attack being weaker than my defense. Just that." Syrus smiled as he saw towards Jaden's confusion that he had a facedown monster who managed to take him by surprise in a simple fashion.
"Oh, now that makes sense. Alright Sy, that was a good move. But don't think I'm done. Elemental Hero Heat, attack Gambler of Legend." And now knowing how much defense the monster of his friend has, he decided to make use of his other monster who has 2000 and Syrus would be unable to defend against it.
And just like he said, the elemental hero made his steam ignite, and with like a flamethrower he launched the huge attack which made the cowboy flinch not before getting shattered like glass.
"Wow, that was intense." Jaden had to confess that an attack like that was awesome. As he smiled at him. "Now I'm going to place a facedown card and end my turn... and before you start. I activate the effect of Elemental Hero Lady Heat."
"What does she do?" Chumley decided to ask, as he could see Alexis nodding her head towards the strategy of Jaden who was dueling.
"Well, for every Elemental Hero on the field. For every End Phase, Lady Heat can inflict damage to the opponent by 200 points." Alexis had to commend the idea of Jaden using the end phase to do damage by effect, and little by little Syrus would suffer a bit of the damage around.
"That's right. Now that I have two, Syrus is going to lose 400 of his life points." Jaden smiled as he saw, that his heroine was holding flames in her hand, and with two counters on her back, the fire grew bigger as she launched two fireballs, Syrus just closed his eyes to see the light, not before the vibration of his dueling disk felt the life points diminishing.
Syrus LP: 3600 / Jaden LP: 3900
"Well, it seems that you are not holding back Jaden." Syrus smiled as he could see Jaden using this strategy in the future, and that was by far a very good way to start the turn and take good damage by making both monsters stronger. "A very solid strategy Jaden... But don't think that you just using effects to damage me would be enough. It's my turn...DRAW."
Syrus then drew another card from his deck, Second Coin Toss.
The bluenette found that it was time to take the lead like he usually does.
"Alright Jaden, I have to say that it was a nice start for your monsters. But I think it's time for me to slow your roll." Syrus comments as he is still holding the second coin toss card in his hands, and is prepared to use it.
"What do you mean by that Syrus?" Jaden looked confused, as he could see that he had 2 monsters in the field, while his friend had no monster, and it would be difficult to defeat his strong monsters in ...
"I activate Second Coin Toss." Syrus interrupted Jaden's thoughts as the group saw a gobling who was prostrated nearby Syrus who was showing nothing more than recognizement and respect. Which made Syrus take something from his pocket... Which made Alexis' eyes go wide open. "Once per turn, if I don't like the results of my coin toss cards. I can redo all the tosses from the same coin-flip effect."
Second Coin Toss

Types: Continuous Spell
When a coin toss is performed, you can choose to redo the coin toss. (If the toss involved multiple coin flips, redo all of them.) You can only use the effect of "Second Coin Toss" once per turn.
"Wait, doesn't the gambling monster have an effect of the coin toss?" Chumley asked since he never understood Syrus would be a type of duelist who would try to do coinflips.
"Yes it is... but there are more dangerous monsters in Syrus's deck who also can use coin flip effects," Alexis remembered the ace monster when she saw that Syrus was preparing the field just for him.
"NO WAY," Chumely shouted in disbelief, as he could see Jaden getting excited.
"Oh, that's awesome, so now you are going to use coin flip effects?" Jaden could already see that Syrus now is going to duel seriously against him, and from seeing Syrus is already with his coins in his hands. Syrus was prepared.
"Yep, you better believe it. I can have better control of my luck. Because now I'm going to summon SAND GAMBLER IN ATTACK POSITION." Syrus after placing the card on his duel disk, a very handsome man came out from the floor like it was made of pure sand, and then showing his very stunting brown hair and using a good blazer, the same gambler was playing with three coins on his hand.

Atk/Def: 300/1600
Toss a coin 3 times. If all 3 results are Heads, destroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field. If all 3 results are Tails, destroy all monsters on your side of the field. You can only activate this effect once per turn, during your Main Phase.
"This monster looks weak," Jaden comments in surprise, but then he glances at Syrus who is grinning at him, and he can't help but get a bad feeling.
"Yeah, he may be weak in attack... But, let's see who is the luckiest between you and me Jaden. If I flip 3 heads, all your monsters are destroyed, and if I flip 3 tails, then all my monsters are destroyed." Syrus smiled at the time the hero duelist had the biggest dumbfull face in palled from knowing the effect of the coin flip effect. "Now let's see. Let's flip these three coins already."
Syrus launched the coins in the air, and at the time they went into the floor. Syrus smiled evilly, as he pointed at the coins... 3 heads.
"NO WAY." Jaden and Chumley shouted in disbelief since the first flip of coins went exactly as the worst luck Jaden had at the moment.
"I didn't even need to activate my second coin flip toss effect. How fortunate for me. Well Jaden, say goodbye to your heroes. Sand Gambler, destroy them without mercy." Syrus instructed, as the gambler took a few coins from his pocket and threw them like bullets. It was surprising that heroes who usually were invincible against real deal, couldn't protect against the coin versions of them. "And now that you have no more monsters. Sand Gambler attacks Jaden directly."
"Damn, that's going to suck." Jaden already guessed since he received a backflip kick from the sand gambler which made him flinch in 'pain' like they always use the imagination of it. "Okay, that wasn't so bad."
"You said that now. But remember that you don't have more monsters now. I end my turn." Syrus smiled as he knew that he now had eliminated one card which would cause burn on him, so he did his best to try to get rid of Lady Heat first, but since now that his Sand Gambler was on the attack, he knew that the next turn he would receive good damage depending on Jaden's next card.
Syrus LP3600 / Jaden LP: 3600
"Well, let's see if you can keep up with this. My turn, Draw." Jaden took the card over the top of his deck, noticing which monster he had in his hand, it was time to do the next attack. "Alright, even if my new monsters managed to make a good impression, I think it was time to come back to the classics. Elemental Hero Sparkman come forward."
Jaden managed to summon one of the strongest 4-star monsters he had from his former deck, and Syrus already cursed a bit of his luck since he was hoping it was another monster.
"Dammit, I was hoping Avian or Burstinatrix. This is going to suck." Syrus mumbled to himself as he knew exactly what Jaden was going to do next.
"Alright, Sparkman, let's show him what heroes are up to. Attack Sand Gambler with Statick Shockwave." Jaden raised his hand as he pointed in the direction of the man doing coinflips, and the elemental hero using spandex, decided to use an electric shockwave which not only destroyed the man in dust but also a bit of electricity was enough to be a flashlight to make Syrus raises his arm to cover his eyes.
"Well, that sucked," Syrus commented as he could see his life points taking a very significant amount of damage from the difference between attack and defense.
"Well, I'm just glad that you managed to place it in attack position, such a thing wouldn't have happened if you summoned him in defense position," Jaden said as he saw that it would haven't been such a powerful attack if Syrus had his monster in the defense position.
"Ah yes, the bullcrap of the no rules of always to set a monster towards in the field in the TCG and OCG while the anime has that bs rule of everyone can summon a monster in defense position when they want." Syrus thought to himself since he knew that it would be a thing forever in the world he lived... but one thing he wanted to be clear with himself. "That doesn't fit my style Jaden, my style is only set a monster or attack summon. Exceptions of that, only special summon monsters."
Syrus even though he was a hypocrite... still had pride in the way he dueled in his world, he learned to duel from the rules of the TCG, DL, and OCG, so he would remain loyal to it until the end.
"Well, that makes sense, so I think I will end my turn for now." Jaden shrugged as he accepted the way his friend decided to duel, while he wouldn't agree very much with it, he decided to finish the turn which Syrus decided to now glance into his deck.
"Wasn't that a bit risky for Syrus to decide to do that?" Chumley by watching from far away, looked at the girls who seemed also confused by the blue-haired boy and decided to ignore the suggestion of his friend.
"Well, every duelist has a kind of strategy and a style of dueling. And from what I learned from Syrus, he is a very smart guy. So maybe it's a risk he was willing to take if fits his style." Alexis wasn't sure, but seeing the carefree nature of Syrus, even knowing that he was at a disadvantage over the duel showed that Syrus didn't give up on the duel, far from it.
Syrus LP: 2300 / Jaden LP: 3600
"Alright, Jaden, I think it's time to go up to the next level. MY TURN, DRAW." Syrus drew the next card of his deck, showing a light machine known for being a good troll card, Reflect Bounder. "This will be fun to see. Alright Jaden, let's see if you are prepared for THIS. I Summon Reflect Bounder in attack position."
Jaden placed the machine monster on the field which made Chumley, Alexis, Jasmine, and Mindy look at the duelist in surprise.
"Okay, this is going to be fun to see," Jasmine comments, as she could see what that monster could do, for had a very tricky and annoying effect, if used right, it would end the duel in his favor.

Before damage calculation, if this card is being attacked by an opponent's monster, and was in face-up Attack Position at the start of the Damage Step: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the attacking monster's ATK. If you do, after damage calculation: Destroy this card.
"Also for the effect of my Machine Assembly Line, my Reflect Bounder receives a bonus of 200 ATK points since he is a Machine-type monster," Syrus said as he could see that his Reflect Bounder, a creature made of mirrors and metal showed sparkles of electricity, which created the effect of light reflecting over his body.

Atk 1700 = 1900.
"Oh boy." Jaden could see that a stronger monster was a bad sign, and since Syrus was ready to attack his monster, Jaden needed to think quickly.
"Battle. Now Reflect Bounder, attack Elemental Hero Sparkman." Syrus ordered as the machine itself prepared to use the mirrors around his body to reflect into a huge light laser in the direction of the heroic monster on the field.
"Oh no, I will not let you do that. I activated the trap card Hero Barrier. As long I have one Elemental Hero in the field I can negate 1 attack from my opponent. Which means that attack from Reflect Bounder will be diminished." Jaden activated the trap at the moment the attack was ordered, and if was a last-second resort, a barrier made of blue and yellow energy appeared to reflect the attack in the direction of the hero who seemed to use the barrier as a shield.

Negate 1 attack from an opponent's monster. You must control a face-up "Elemental HERO" monster to resolve this effect.
Syrus noticed the only set card on Jaden's back row was now erased, which meant that he could prepare for his next turn. Syrus smiled, as he felt the good duel against the main character, which made him even more excited to see how it would go. The only time he ever had such fun was like playing Duel Links with his friends.
"Alright Jaden, you used the only trap card you had. So you better prepare something big for your next house, or your monster will not be safe on the next turn." Syrus commented, and he looked at Alexis who just realized what Syrus was doing. "Turn End."
"Oh damn, he is good," Mindy comments as she also understood the meaning behind the words of the bluenette duelist. The Slifer chubby student still didn't comprehend what happened.
"What? What is happening?" Chumley asked confused as he didn't understand what was going on.
"Chumley, Syrus is setting a trap without using a card," Alexis commented, which made Chumley look confused at the Obelisk duelist. "Do you remember Jaden was baited when I said that our monsters would have destroyed each other? Look at Syrus monster, and how he was smiling at Jaden... And then look at Jaden's face."
Chumely could see Alexis was whispering towards him, so it would be best to not say it aloud, but after he looked into both duelists, he could see clearly what was going on...
Jaden was taking the challenge.
"Oh yeah?" Jaden grinned as his eyes were blazed with the idea of challenging him to do the impossible. So if he wants the impossible, that's what Syrus will get. "So you want something Big? Alright, I will show you what is big. MY TURN, DRAW."
The tension over the field was enormous, but Jaden was ready to go make things escalate.
"Okay, prepare yourself because I'm going to turn up the heat in this duel. I activate Monster Reborn." Jaden placed the spell card on the field and by that time one monster decided to paper in a show of light. "Which allows me to bring back one monster from the graveyard. And I choose Elemental Hero HEAT. And don't think it's over. I will use my polymorisation to fuse both Elemental Hero HEAT with the heroine I have in my hand Elemental Hero Lady Heat. To show you my new MONSTER, ELEMENTAL HERO INFERNO IN ATTACK MODE!"
At the time Jaden makes a combination of two spells and two monsters, from the field the group could see the whole fusion of both hero and heroine holding their hands and fusing into what would be a giant Hero made by fire, and with an armor of pure orange, white and dark orange. It showed a true monster that could make everything Syrus asked for.
Elemental HERO Inferno

"Elemental HERO Heat" + "Elemental HERO Lady Heat"
When battling WATER monsters, this monster's ATK is boosted by 1000. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, take one Spell Card from the Graveyard and add it to your hand.
"Neat card, isn't it Sy?" Jaden smiled as he could see the newest monster on his side of the field, and he was admiring the debut of the powerhouse he managed to summon on the field. But from seeing that his friend was expressionless towards his monster something was odd on him.
"Yeah he is a good monster battling against water monsters, however he is still 2300 atk points, I would have been more intimidated if he was stronger." Syrus simply dismissed his friend's new monster which made Jaden gasp towards his friend.
"Syrus, not cool man." Jaden took offense since he found every single hero has its utilities. So Jaden looked at his hand and noticed that there was a card that indeed could make Syrus become on the defensive once again. "If you don't like my Elemental HERO Inferno, then I'm going to bring back one monster that I know will punch through. I activate Fusion Recovery."

Target 1 "Polymerization", and 1 Fusion Material that was used for a Fusion Summon, in your Graveyard; add them to your hand.
Syrus blinked until he noticed which monster Jaden could bring back.
"Oh SON OF A BURNING ABYSS. YOU ARE GOING TO BRING LADY HEAT BACK ON THE FIELD." Syrus immediately shouted in disbelief and outrage at seeing the innocent smile from Jaden again, which infuriated him.
"That's right Sy. By using the effect of Fusion Recovery, I can take from my graveyard both my Polymerization spell and one Fusion Material I used in a fusion to my hand. And I summon on this very turn, the heroine of flames, LADY HEAT COME BACK TO SAVE THE DAY AGAIN." Jaden placed the card on his duel disk which once again the appearance that the heroine was capable of taking the breath of all the watchers of the duel.
"Man, Jaden is not taking it easy. He is doing much more than the time he was dueling against me. It seems that every single card was helping him to achieve one kind of strategy." Alexis mused as she looked at Jaden feeling more confident with himself, as his deck seemed to be helping him to deal with that moment.
"Yeah, it was like what Syrus said, Jaden must have been using a lot of different traps and spell cards which some don't make sense, while this deck seems to be a good way to make Jaden always an offensive." Jasmine had to agree with her friend, seeming to see how the flow of the duel was changing from each turn, and from the way the duelist slacker from yesterday was actually dueling like a Ra or even an Obelisk duelist at that moment.
Chumley watched as he could see the difference, in how the blue-haired boy managed to make the strongest duelist he knew, Jaden himself duel in a way to always have a trump card in his hands, Chumley also understood the meaning of why Syrus was serious about how he didn't want they wouldn't be on their 100%, because he believed that Jaden... and even he could become Ra, or even Obelisks until the end of the semester... that's a kind of faith that once again inspired the koala lover student to give a try once again.
"Well, Syrus, no offense, but your monster is already going to be recycled into junk. Elemental HERO Inferno, attack Syrus' Reflect Bounder." Jaden raised his arm which made the hero made of pure fire, to immediately raise both his arms, and with a powerful flame it created a force so strong that the fire would even be something to show the strong heat around the group.

As the entire glimpses of the mirror seemed to be transformed into a portrait of a hellish blaze... which on the next second, All the mirrors around Reflect Bounder's body were aiming directly at Jaden.
"Uh oh..." Jaden knew it was a bad sign when mirrors were aiming directly at him, and when the last thing he saw was the same blazing fire that his elemental HERO monster did to his opponent, however this time none of his monsters was able to defend him. "AHHHHHHHHHH."
And at the moment Jaden recovered from the extreme scorching attack, as he was sweating from the flames, he was still confused and intrigued... until he could see the cracks around the body of the monster, and Syrus already preparing himself by flinching and closing his eyes.
And the next second Reflect Bounder destructed itself, while Syrus was prepared from the recoil.
"What just happened?" Jaden tried to come up with a reason for what just happened, however, Syrus smiling at him made him even more confused.
"Well Jaden, you got played... again. The effect of Reflect Bounder is before damage calculation, if this card is being attacked by an opponent's monster, and is in face-up Attack Position at the start of the Damage Step: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the attacking monster's ATK. If you do, after damage calculation: Destroy this card." Syrus took his card from his hand and showed it to Jaden, who made his mouth open in shock. "In other words Jaden... I was baiting you to attack with your strongest monster..."
"Oh, that's a low move Sy." Jaden while he felt impressed, he pouted as he didn't like to be played like that. He could see that his life points diminishing from the 2300 damage points of the effect of Syrus' monster.
"Sorry Jaden, hate the game, but never the player." Syrus smiled as he could see that he only lost 400 life points. "But now that you destroyed my monster, I can finally make my Machine Assembly Line work. By every time a machine monster from my field is destroyed, I can place two junk counters on it."
Syrus pointed at the field which showed the old factory finally starting to process the destroyed parts of the Reflect Bounder and proceeded to make a construction, which made the whole group curious about what was going to happen next.
"Well, I can say that it was a good plan Syrus, but now I know that you are exposed for a direct attack. Elemental Hero Sparkman attacks Syrus directly." Jaden smiled as he could see his hero using that time to use the lighting sparkle from his hand and that way launching a shot straightly to Syrus.
"Oh oh, Syrus is in trouble." Chumley noticed the direction of the attack and the possibility of Syrus losing against 2 monsters Jaden had on the field.
"I wouldn't count on that," Alexis said as she could see the face of the blue-haired boy, that smirk, was the same smirk he used against the proctor.
And with that, Syrus smiled as he took his Kyteroid from his hand and placed it on the graveyard. Immediately from the floor, a machine appeared which showed its metallic face, and at the next second, it created a forcefield that made the sparkle attack being redirected to the sky.
"Woah." Mindy and Jasmine saw that move which made them cover their eyes as the light was enough to make them uncomfortable for their vision.
"What happened?" Jaden asked as he could see that the attack didn't hit Syrus at all, and from seeing the blue-haired boy just giving a smile in a way too innocently aimed at him.
"Nothing much, just discarding one card to avoid being hit by a direct attack." Syrus decided to take from his graveyard the last card he placed and showed it to the Slifer duelist. "If you think that you are the only one who has a card to avoid damage, then think again."
Jaden blinked but then smirked as he was being even more excited to continue the duel.
"Oh, so that's how it will go? Well then, let's see if you are going to save yourself from this attack. Lady Heat, attack Syrus directly." Jaden without thinking twice, made his last monster go directly in the direction of his friend, but suddenly his eyes went wide open.
Suddenly from the floor, a machine appeared from nowhere and created a force field which made Jaden's Lady Heat back off to go directly to her position.
"Oh come on, again? What happened now?" Jaden pouted, as he could see Syrus snickering. "What did you do this time Sy?"
Alexis giggled as she could see Jaden getting exasperated by seeing how much Syrus had control of the turn, even if he was without a monster on the field. Chumley stared at the movement in confusion, while Mindy and Jasmine also seemed shocked.
"What just happened? Did Syrus have two of the said monsters to discard?" Jasmine asked as she could see Alexis was the only person who was laughing from seeing the face of the slacker duelist.
"Now that's some deja vu," Alexis recalled, as she could remember how Zane recalled Syrus using that strategy. "Now I can see why Zane called this play a cruel joke."
"Cruel joke?" The trio of spectators asked at the Obelisk beauty who just smiled as she remembered exactly what was the effects.
"Kyteroid, is a very powerful card to have on hands, once you receive a direct attack from a monster, you can discard it to nullify the battle damage of the said attack, while once it is on the graveyard, you can banish that card and make the said effect happens once again." Alexis commented loudly, loud enough to even make Jaden hear the effect.
"Oh come on. Are you serious?" Jaden said as he was already having mixed feelings, one was that he was having the time of his life, and the other was he could not help but pout on how unfair this duel was.
"No Jaden, I'm Sirius. Now that all your monsters attacked, do you have anything else to do on this turn?" Syrus replied as he made sure that Jaden was still on his turn, and without thinking twice, he banished the Kyteroid from his graveyard.
"Alright Syrus, that was an awesome move, but since I have nothing else to do... I will end my turn..." Jaden raised both his hands as he accepted that he couldn't attack, but he smiled as he still pointed at his monster. "But I also activated the effect of my Elemental Hero Lady Heat, which made you receive 600 points of damage since I have 3 elemental Hero Monsters on my side of the field."
Syrus eyes went wide open, as he forgot a simple detail like that, and seeing the heroine smirking and with her own body in steam she created a clone of steam and exploded with a scorching steam which vibrated the dueling Disk of the blue-haired duelist, and that way being uncomfortable with the heat.
"Damn... I knew I was forgetting something;" Syrus sighed as he knew that every single turn was going to be a drag if Lady Heat remained on the field. "I need to take care of her."

"Alright Jaden, the duel isn't over until the last Life Point is on Zero, and the last card isn't drawn… MY TURN, DRAW." Syrus commented as he was determined to go on his turn, and by seeing the new card being nobody else than Dekoichi the Basttlechanted Locomotive, he smiled because he had a new card to make him draw another card. "I will set a monster, and then I will set a card on the field… Just for my next trick… I activate from my back-row CARD OF SANCTITY."
"Wait, AGAIN?" Not just Jaden, but Alexis, Jasmine, and Mindy asked aloud as they saw that Syrus was already drawing the quantity of the cards in his hands.
"A duelist without cards on his hand has the worst risk to deal with each turn. So now let's see what else we can do Jaden." Syrus smiled, as Jaden nodded his head and both got cards in their hands until each of them had 6 in total. Syrus looked at his new cards… DNA Transplant, Ally of Justice Quarantine, Sand Gambler, and Desperado Barrel Dragon. The time waiting for the blue-haired duelist finally comes to an end. "I will set a card on my field, and this time I end my turn."
"I don't get it…" Jasmine commented as she took the attention of both of her friends.
"Get what?" Mindy asked as she tilted her head towards the brown-haired obelisk girl.
"This Syrus, placed many cards on the spell and trap zones until he had two cards, and then when he used Card of Sanctity, he took more 4 cards, just for later he set one simple card and ended his turn." Jasmine tried to figure out the reason why the blue-haired boy was doing it, and what it bugged her most, was the fact that he was relaxed into doing it. Like he already has the guarantee of his victory.
"I have to agree that it seems a bit odd. But Syrus is so unexpected, that we don't know what to expect from him on the next turn." Alexis justified, but she couldn't help she could see from seeing the same expression of relaxation and yet excitement to see Jaden attack on the next turn… The same way as… "Oh no… Jaden is screwed."
"What?" Chumley asked surprised, since he wasn't most of being interactive in the conversation, but hearing from Alexis that Jaden is screwed doesn't look like a good signal.
"Syrus is smiling like the same way he was dueling against the proctor… which means one thing… Syrus is now with his ace card." Alexis analyzed the situation towards the duel, and at the time Jaden was looking at his hand, he had no idea what Syrus was going to do next.
"Okay, if you say so. I'm not turn, draw." Jaden commented as he was with the new cards in his hand. And after taking a new card, Jaden felt the presence of a good friend on his shoulder. His dueling spirit appeared. On his hands, Winged Kuriboh is already there to help his friend. "Oh, hey Kuriboh."
"Prrrr." The windged spirit happily made a sound, as it showed a good time for him to appear as a good friend to help in emergency cases.
Syrus noticed it, Jaden turning his head in the direction of his shoulder, which made him understand one thing… Jaden has Winged Kuriboh on his hands. And seeing Jaden with his confident smile, it seemed that the Slifer duelist was ready to do his turn.

Jaden made a good combination of the monsters by using both his field and his hand to bring on the field, the colossus monster of White, Yellow, and Purple on the field.

Chumley got worried, and Jaden had a point, he had now 2 strong monsters and one that caused good damage at the end of each turn. Jaden is dueling far more experienced than the time he dueled on the day before.
"Wow, I didn't think about this factor." Alexis had to admit, but also she knew about important information. "But now it would depend on Jaden if he has luck enough to win."
"What do you mean?" Chumley asked, and both Mindy and Jasmine placed their hands on his mouth.
"Just watch. Because now the things will become interesting." Jasmine after watching the duel from both two duelists, could see why Alexis was more direct when it came to who had the most chance of winning the duel...A duel like that was perfect for both sides.
That wasn't for the fact Jaden made a terrible mistake.

Jaden was ready to activate the effect. But something was strange… he felt the face of Syrus turning from a surprise to a suppressed laugh like he was doing his best to not laugh. "What? Syrus was biting his lips, as he couldn't help, he was both trying to laugh, but also wanting to not strangle Jaden at that moment.
"Well, I don't know, but by using his effect, after I discard one card from my hand, I can choose a monster on the field with original ATK less than the ATK of this card; to destroy that target" Jaden smiled as he pointed his finger on the facedown monster… "Okay Thunder Giant, activate your effect."

"Yeah, I have." Syrus nodded his head, but he crossed his arm as he was expecting Jaden to understand that he messed up. "But before I explain to you, did you even read your card at all?"
"Of course I had?" Jaden said as he took the card and raised it in the direction of the sunlight to show the hidden inscriptions to make sure the words were legible to read. "Once per turn: You can discard 1 card to target 1 face-up monster on the field with original ATK less than the ATK of this card; destroy that target."
"Yep… face-up." Syrus nodded his head… He decided to make a good time counting the seconds until Jaden realized…
"WAIT WHAT?" The reaction of Jaden went exactly what Syrus expected. As he couldn't help but facepalm from the stupidity of the elemental hero duelist.
"And now you can see why I always set my monsters in defense position instead of summoning in face-up defense position… Because who knows I could find another duelist like you doing something like that?" Syrus shrugged as he clearly couldn't help but admit was faster than he thought. "Maybe in the future, we will take this moment and have some laughs towards the time one of the best duelists of the school did use an effect of destruction into his monsters."

"Phewm that was close." After seeing the effect has saved him. Jaden wasn't saved from the backlash of the monster effect he used. " Sorry Lady Heat, but you gotta go."
Jaden could see the disappointment of his own monster, as the biggest hero he had raised its hand, and like thunder, the heroine Lady Heat was destroyed in seconds.
"And that's why we always should read the cards Jaden, one single word can make us make terrible mistakes in our turn." Syrus explained as he couldn't help but feel happy that one of the most annoying cards to deal with now was destroyed, and the problem was solved by itself.
"Wow, I never expected something like that would happen with him, maybe this time he will pay attention without making another stupid mistake like that." Jasmine commented as she saw how the duel was just about to change drastically.
Jaden remained quiet, as he could see that because of one mistake, he destroyed one monster who had been helping him around so much, and now he must rethink carefully what to do…. He just used one of his emergency cards to help him to have once again the total points of the due, with also a few bonus points to make the difference.
"Okay, I need to end this , Elemental Hero Thunder Giant attack the set monster of Syrus field right now." Jaden instructed as the golem giant made sure that his own hands transformed like lighting and decided to attack the monster.
"ALRIGHT, ACTIVATE CONTINUOUS TRAP, DNA TRANSPLANT, CHANGE ALL THE MONSTERS ON THE FIELD TO DARK ATTRIBUTE. " Syrus quickly decided to use one of the traps set on his side of the field, but also with this time, which made Jaden look at him with his eyes widened upon in surprise.

"It's the DNA transplant, it's a trap card that allows Syrus to determine one attribute, and after doing that, all the monsters on the field will have such an attribute," Alexis explained, as she also could see how Syrus wanted the guarantee that his monsters would be dark attribute, and from that it would be the time to summon him.
"OH, OH, OH, HE IS COMING. I WANT TO HEAR HIM DOING IT AGAIN." Mindy was feeling excited as she was shaking Jasmine who was still trying to process what was happening.
"WOA, CALM DOWN GIRL, STOP SHAKING ME." Jasmine shouted as she could see the attack hitting the set card.
Jaden smiled as he could see that under the set card was just a simple machine monster locomotive, which was destroyed.
"Alright, I activate the effect of Dekoichi the Basttlechanted Locomotive." Syrus commanded as he took the attention of Jaden who was just surprised to see the blue-haired duelist shouting. "I can draw 1 card for the time he was flipped on the field."
"Oh, that's fine." Jaden smiled, but he didn't see Syrus drawing a card from his deck. But then he just saw Syrus instead of drawing a card, he separated one card from his hand.
"Here comes." Alexis said as both Jasmine and Mindy nodded their heads, while Chumley was extremely confused.
"CHAIN EFFECT," Syrus shouted as he raised and showed a card in front of Jaden. Which made Jaden recoil in surprise. "If one monster DARK Machine monster I controlled was destroyed by a battle or card effect. I can Special Summon from my hand. My strongest monster. I hope you are ready Jaden, because I will show you no mercy. I SPECIAL SUMMON DESPERADO BARREL DRAGON."
At the moment Syrus made the shout he slammed his card on the dueling disk, as it showed a deep show of lights, and immediately from the floor. A powerful machine creature with what would be three reloaded laser guns, one in each hand, and one in the head… Which made Chumley's mouth drop hard, and Jaden raised up his head, as he could see the size of the said monster… It was almost the same size as Ancient Gear Golen.

"MACARRONI." Jaden also shouted but it was a different word from the said chubby duelist. Who after seeing the machine glaring down towards what would be prey in front of him.

Syrus could see that Jaden wasn't expecting that, usually a move like that in duel links would be a standard… But doing that in the world of GX, he isn't sure that it was treated as a combo…
"Well, at the moment Dekoichi was destroyed, that also meant that his remains would be made useful as a junk counter on my Machine Assembly Line. Making them as a 4 junk counters now." Syrus drew a card while he explained as the machine line assembly once again started working. "Also Jaden my Desperado Barrel Dragon is still a machine monster, so that means that he will still receive a bonus of 200 attack points."
"Oh no, that's no good." Jaden commented as he could see the machine dragon was roaring as it showed a good sparkle of electricity.

"3000 Attack points?" Chumley commented as he feared for his own life, as also for his friend who just found a monster so powerful that Jaden would be screwed if he didn't think of a way to get out from that.
"Not just that, but Desperado Barrel Dragon effects the battle phase, which in any battle phase Jaden would be screwed." Alexis once again could see the semblance of how it happened to her in the first duel. "Syrus doesn't pull up his punches… when he said he was going serious on his duel, I'm thinking which deck would you think it's this one? It doesn't seemd like the level 2 deck he used on me…"
"Yeah, from the time he dueled against you, it ended much quicker than we expected." Jasmine remembered when Syrus used his deck against alexis, he summoned 3 monsters on the field at the same turn. This deck seemed to be more controlled but slower than it should be… "Do you think that's a level 1?"
"It must be since Syrus lost a good among of Life points." Mindy theorized as she could see the Elemental Hero duelist in silence and thinking about what to do.
And when everyone thought Jaden was in an emotional crisis, Jaden grinned and smiled so widely that everyone was worried.
"THAT'S SO AWESOME." Jaden jumped as he could see the biggest dragon he saw on the field. He felt that Syrus was also having fun, so he felt so relaxed at dueling against his friend and learning so many things at the same time. "Now this is my type of learning. Alright, I see that there is nothing I can do right now. So I will end my turn."

Neither of them is willing to give up, and Syrus shows that he has more teeth than a bark, he is showing an example of how they are going to be a powerful duelist. "Yep." Jasmine agreed, since she saw the duelist from Slifer Red being able to duel like that, she asked herself how long each of them would be promoted to the next dorm. "They both showed skills of a true Blue Obelisk. I want to see how long it will take to see them already beating many of the brown noses Obelisks to the ground."
"Not so long. I think some of the Blue Obelisks will be traumatized into dueling against both of them." Mindy giggled as she noticed that Syrus was showing a relaxed smile, while Jaden was excited with the duel.
"Okay, I need to find a way to nullify the chances of Winged Kuriboh being summoned in the field…"Syrus thought to himself, as he tried to think of a way to avoid being caught by surprise by the flying fur ball which has a powerful defensive effect. Especially in the anime.
"Alright Jaden, let's see if you can survive this turn Draw." Syrus called as he drew another card. From the time he took a card from flipping Dekoichi and with this card drew on the drawing phase. Syrus was with both Second Coin Toss and Cup of Ace in his hand. This means that he wouldn't need to use one of them since he already had one in the field. "I activate Second Coin Toss. Which makes me flip a coin and if was tails you draw 2 cards, but if is Heads, then I draw 2 cards."

"Oh boy, this deck is full of coin flips." Jaden while stating the obvious, couldn't help but be fascinated to see how most of the duel is focused on luck.
Syrus took the coin and tossed it in the air, and at the time the coin flipped and Lady Luck was giving Jaden a bone… Syrus immediately made him pout by saying one thing.
"I activate the Second Coin Toss, to make me retry my coin flip." Syrus didn't even let Jaden enjoy his little moment of victory. He once again flipped the coin, and this time gave the blue-haired boy the heads he wanted. "And since it's heading, now I can have 2 more cards."
"Oh come on, that isn't fair." Jaden pouted, but seeing the serious face of Syrus, he made him stop. Which made the duelist with blue hair sigh.
"Luck isn't about fairness Jaden, Karma is… Luck it's just luck, but bold and rewarded are the people who do their best to control their luck. That's why I always have failsafes in cases where most of my plans fail." Syrus knew that he had to draw two cards. Syrus by activating the spell the group could once again see the machine filled with mirrors, but this time, instead of his original colors, his body was covered in dark metal, which represents the new attributes he was using.
"Oh my God, Syrus is bringing the big guns. He is going to finish the duel if Jaden doesn't think fast." Alexis can already see at the moment Syrus summoned the Reflect Bounder, he is giving Jaden more and more pressure. Since Syrus until now didn't use any of the set trap or spell cards on his field. And at the time Ally of Justice Quarantine is on the field, that means neither of us can special summon a Light Attribute Monster, which that means the monster of Light Attribute fusions you have cannot be summoned again while Quarantine is on the field. Battle." Syrus quickly explained the effects, which by seeing the eyes of the Elemental Hero Duelist getting wide open, Syrus didn't even waste the time. "On the battle phase, I activate the quick effect of Desperado Barrel Dragon."
"Quick effect? He also has that?" Jaden isn't sure if he was just scared, or excited. Syrus then looked at his monster, and then he pointed at both Elemental Heroes Thunder Giant, and Inferno.
"Baraba Boom," Syrus said as Desperado Barrel Dragon was charging with the effect, and at the moment Desperado was all ready to shoot. Syrus raised both his arms and jumped back. "Pow."
The cannon was launched and immediately Jaden covered his eyes as he could hear the destruction of both his monsters being made from such effect.

Jaden suddenly told a fusion name which made Syrus just blink, as he saw the most iconic fusion appearing on the field. Which it took a few seconds as Jaden felt proud of his work. Syrus looked at the fusion appearing on the field… and for the first time, he never thought he would sigh relief so loud that it would make the whole group of friends be taken aback by such sound.
"Oh thank God it's just Flame Wingman," Syrus mumbled those words, which made his friend look at him in disbelief.
"What the hell? You are not afraid? From the monster that can burn you to 0 at the moment any of your monsters is destroyed?" Jaden asked in disbelief, but at the time Syrus simply shook his head… he knew something was wrong. But he also had a backup plan.
