An Amazing Arataki Party ft. some Thoma X Reader
CRASH!
BANG!
"WOOOOOO-"
You shut your eyes even tighter and slammed a pillow over your face. At this point, you were half tempted to try and knock yourself out with it.
You were in hell.
Well you weren't really. Just trapped in this place overcrowded with screaming people doing whatever they wanted, all run by this roaring red horned beast of a man.
It wasn't your idea to attend this party. Thoma had admitted he wasn't all that pushed either. But Itto had needed a caterer. And he had kind of adopted Thoma as his bro. Thoma had felt kind of obliged to come to the party early and prepare some meals.
"BEAN FREE!" Itto had hammered into him.
Thoma had insisted,
"You don't have to come."
"I know you're not mad on big parties."
"I'll be absolutely fine."
"Just stay for as long as you want."
"Please don't worry about me."
His efforts to console you had had the opposite effect. So here you were at The Almighty Arataki Anniversary Party.
It was everything you thought it would be and worse.
Not that you disliked Itto. He was actually a sweetheart once you could look past the super loud macho mighty oni act. But it was hard to do that when a lot of the time, he was so in your face.
You were reminded of those feelings towards him when you had first entered the house. You'd barely had time to process the roar of the crowd, the thumping music or the putrid whiff of alcohol smacking you in the face before Itto had practically ambushed you.
"Ha-HA! Y/N! The GAL has arrived!"
He had thrown his arms around you in the most suffocating squeeze of a hug you had ever received. One that cut off all your yelps (like they would have been heard anyway). Your slaps at him to let you go were like feathers to him. You thanked the Archons once he (eventually) put you down that he hadn't crushed your ribs or snapped your spine.
"Where's Thoma?" You'd spluttered it out, grabbing onto your stomach.
"Wha-?"
"Where's my boyfriend?"
"Ahh, Thoma! My man! YOUR man! Where is he?" Itto chuckled, glancing around him. You couldn't see anything through the mob of people so you doubted Itto could see either, even with his height. "He . . . should be around here somewhere, heh."
The outside of your stomach was already aching. The insides of your stomach dropped.
"Itto, where is he?"
"Hold oooooonnn holdonholdonholdon! I'll get him for ya!" Itto held his hands out, inviting you further inside. "You sit back, make yourself at home and enjoy the show!"
It was a little hard to enjoy the show when you could barely tell who or what was supposed to be the star. Wherever you looked, all you could see was crowded chaos.
People pounding their fists on tables while beetles pounded into each other. You knew it was a kid's game and all but every time one of those beetles got slammed, you couldn't help feeling sorry for them.
On the other side, an even worse game was going on- a grueling race of who could finish their pint faster. It was a man you recognized from the Arataki Gang versus . . . was that Beidou?!
A smashing sound caught your ears. The first thing you saw on turning around was some poor man getting socked in the face. Even more men whooped and pounced on top of the drunkard who had done it. You shuddered and would have run away if you weren't blocked by the huge crowd of people.
It was actually so congested in here. Seriously, even Itto couldn't have miscalculated how many people this place could take that badly . . . right?
Unless some assholes had taken advantage of being invited to an Itto party and brought some of their friends along.
Itto did have a tendency to just roll with that kind of thing and worry about the consequences later.
You began forcing your way through the crowd. Everything was such an assault on you senses. The flashing lights, the booming music, the squeeze of people against you- some of them stank of sweat and alcohol. You could barely hear your own voice calling for your own boyfriend, and yet you could still pick up the odd wolf whistle that made you want to puke on whoever was doing it.
And then you felt a definite pinch on your ass.
You couldn't stop yourself whipping around and punching the sick man in the face. It had a domino effect. The man (obviously drunk) was knocked back into the man behind him, who collapsed just like that. And then half the crowd just dropped before you, getting a cheer out of those still standing.
It gave you the perfect escape opportunity.
You slipped through the crowd over to a stage where a large group of shirtless men were doing what you imagined was supposed to be a dance but looked more like an excuse to shake the parts of their body that got women screaming. All to more painfully loud music that made your body throb with each beat and flashing lights that burned through your eyes.
Every one of your senses were screaming. With your hands over your ears and your eyes squinted, you marched into the next room where you spotted a table full of food. At first, you perked up. Until you got nearer and realized that the food had been absolutely destroyed by the partygoers. All that was left was soggy noodles in droopy wet hot dog buns, and traces of what you could tell were Thoma's specials- coloured crumbs of dango, flakes of spring roll pastry and scattered rice left over from the sushi. You would have considered pouring yourself some punch if you hadn't already witnessed what chaos the drunkards had gotten themselves into.
Oh Archons, where was Thoma?
You pushed yourself past even more people, ignoring some of the filthy looks flashed your way. None of them were important to you. You found yourself entering a long corridor- maybe he was in one of these rooms?
You knocked on the first door. No reply. So you slowly opened it and peeped inside. You were met with the big ass of a man on his knees too busy puking in the toilet to notice you slamming the door on him.
You staggered into the next room and where immediately met with another man butt naked thrusting full speed ahead between the legs of a young woman shrieking in pleasure. You let out your own scream of horror and busted into the next room.
Thank the Archons, it was an empty bedroom.
You dropped your body weight against the door to make sure it was properly shut. And then you collapsed down onto the bed. You tried to remind yourself you were only taking a break. Just a little breather for your senses to settle. And then you'd look for Thoma again.
Five minutes.
Just five minutes . . .
A young couple busted into the room. Without giving you a chance to react, the boyfriend groaned and started yelling all sorts of abuse at you for hogging the bed. The girlfriend rolled her eyes and tugged on his arm- less out of pity for you and more to shut her boyfriend up. They didn't even bother to close the door for you, leaving your senses exposed once again to screaming, flashing and banging.
This was beginning to get almost painful. You heaved yourself off the bed and forced the door shut again. Out in the corridor, you thought you noticed someone with green hair staring at you. On one hand, you were too exhausted to care, but on the other hand, you wished you could just disappear into that bed. You flopped back down on the bed with your arm dropped over your eyes. You knew you needed to go back to looking for Thoma. But everything that had been going on had left your head spinning, your ears ringing and heart palpitating.
The more you tried to block out the sound, the more people seemed to scream and slam into the walls with no consideration for who or what they were affecting. Even a pillow pinned over your face did little to block out the sensory hell you were stuck in.
A knock on the door made you whine. You really weren't ready for another verbal assault. You smacked the pillow over your face. Seriously, you were that close to knocking yourself out or you would actually cry.
The pillow must have muffled your moans because someone was opening the door. You clenched your fist and considered blasting them out with your Elemental Skill.
"Please don't come in . . ."
"Y/N?"
You sat up to the sound of Thoma's soft voice. He hadn't even shut the door before you leapt off the bed and threw your arms around him. You immediately felt a wave of relief as you dug your nose into his chest and felt his arms slide tight around your body.
"Hi," he whispered, kissing your head, his gentle hands stroking your back. "You okay?"
You sniffed and hugged him tighter. His soft warmth and gentle touch soothed your troubled senses. With your eyes shut and face pressed against his chest, it blocked out the flashing lights from outside. His scent of fresh laundry and warm spices was almost heavenly compared to the whiffs of alcohol that had slapped you in the face. Even the pounding music began to fade, replaced by gentle shushes.
"Sorry I couldn't find you. Shinobu told me you were here."
"Oh?" You blinked up at him. "That was Shinobu?" You peeped past Thoma's shoulder and sure enough, Shinobu was standing there, her arms folded.
"Thanks."
"No problem," she said, nodding. "I don't blame you for hiding here. This party has gotten a bit wild. I'm actually surprised no one's called the guards yet."
You cocked your head. "Where's Itto?"
"Oh yeah. He said he was gonna find Thoma because you were looking for him. But he got sucked into another beetle brawl where the loser has to do something stupid . . ."
As if on queue, a large CRASH roared throughout the building. Followed by Itto screaming. It made you shudder and Shinobu sigh.
"That sounded like the chandelier . . ." She rolled her eyes. "I should probably get back out there before someone tears the house down." With that, she reached out to close the door. "You take all the time you need in there."
"Hey, if Itto needs me to fix anything in the morning, tell him I'm on it," said Thoma.
"Awesome. Thanks." Even with her mask on, you thought you saw Shinobu smile. She swiftly shut the door, leaving you and Thoma at peace. He smiled at you and gave you a squeeze.
"Thanks for looking for me."
You glanced up at him with lowered eyebrows. "You're welcome?" It was a weird thing to be thanked for, but . . . at least he was grateful? Your confused look earned a warm chuckle from him.
"I know you don't like these kind of parties. I'm guess I'm just charmed you put yourself out there for me."
"Aww." You squeezed him even tighter and nuzzled your face off his chest. "I didn't pull you away, did I?" Your eyes widened a little as the thought sunk in.
"Noooooo, no you didn't," Thoma chuckled, rubbing your back reassuringly. "In all honesty, I was kinda busy catering for most of the party. So I didn't get much of a chance to really enjoy it . . . yet."
You raised an eyebrow and gazed up at him. "Yet?" You smirked a little as you noticed his warm smile had shifted into something a bit more suggestive. You slid your hands up to his pecs, getting a low chuckle out of him.
"Are you asking for a dance?" you asked teasingly.
Thoma's suggestive smile grew a little. His hands slid a little lower down your waist.
"Well, we are alone together in this nice bedroom. We could certainly make our own fun."
"I think I'd like that . . ."
He beamed down at you. "Good . . ."
You smiled wider and leaned up towards his face, shutting your eyes and licking your lips. You felt him leaning in towards you, his warm breath drawing nearer. You gripped onto his shirt as you prepared yourself for a kiss . . .
"BAM!"
You screamed and dug your head into Thoma's chest as the door exploded, Ushi and Itto bursting right through.
"There you are!" he shouted. "I've been looking everywhere for ya! Thank the Archons I got good ol' Ushi here! Yeah, that's a boy!" He patted Ushi who nodded his head, wiggling his butt and mooing proudly.
You huddled up even more to Thoma who you could sense just standing there with his arms around you with no idea what to say to his bro.
"What are you two doing here?" Itto sounded genuinely confused. You could have laughed at the thought. You cautiously peeped over to see the oni dramatically thrusting his arms out.
"WHY DO PEOPLE ALWAYS DO THIS AT MY PARTIES?"
You dug your head back into Thoma's chest as you felt your cheeks flushing. Itto really didn't know, did he . . . ?
"I go into one bathroom and there's two people doin' Idunnowhat in there. And I'm like 'uhh, dude, that's not how you relieve yourself, man.'"
Thoma had buried his face into your hair to keep himself from wheezing. You gripped onto his jacket, fighting a scream. You did not need that image and you certainly didn't need Itto hammering it into you. Also you could do without the screaming and banging in the background.
Banging . . . You shuddered at the mental image. You got a bit of relief when Thoma gave you a comforting squeeze. He even snuck in a whisper of "it's okay" in your ear.
"Uhhh." You could sense Itto approaching you and tried not to moan. Even when he walked normally, it sounded like he was stomping. "Your girl okay?"
You turned your head away from him. You knew he meant well, but he was trying to get in your face and it made you feel worse. You let a moan escape, clinging onto your boyfriend who gently shifted away from the oni for you. Of course Itto was too busy with his little invasion to notice.
"Hey! Helloooooo! Y/N? You okay in there? You don't look so hot."
"She's okay," Thoma said quickly. "She's just tired."
"Tired?" Itto paused, like he needed a moment to process it. "Uhh, she didn't look tired when she walked in. Did you really party that hard?" You sensed him peering in trying to really look at your face and felt Thoma cradling your head in a gently firm hand.
"Itto, I think Y/N and I would like to stay here for a while . . . by ourselves. N- no offence . . ." He said it so softly. "Maybe . . . we can come out in a little while?"
He squeezed you as if to ask you if you were okay with that. You nodded, keeping your head turned from Itto and your eyes shut.
"Alright!" Itto clapped his hands- the clap echoed around the room almost made it shake. "See you then! It's an Arataki party! I want my bro and his gal to have fun! Also Thoma . . . You. Me. Rap battle. First thing when ye come out! YEAH!"
And he stomped out of the room through the broken door, making (admittedly) impressive beatbox sounds. Ushi trotted after him, nodding and mooing to the rhythm.
Finally you were alone with Thoma. If only you could be left alone in peace. There were still a whole load of drunkards thundering down the corridor screaming your heads off.
"You okay?"
You shuddered, squeezing your boyfriend a little tighter.
"Is it a bit much?"
You sniffed and nodded.
"Awww." Thoma planted a gentle kiss on your head, running his fingers through your hair. "It's okay, m'love. I know he got a bit close for you . . ."
You squeezed him as tight as you could, your mouth wobbling. He was so understanding and respectful of your limits, doing what he could to facilitate them, and sometimes you feared it was at his own expense.
"You wanna find another room?"
You shook your head. You felt lucky you two had gotten a bedroom at all, whether there was a door there or not. Though maybe you were being a bit too forgiving because the sounds of smashing and screaming from the outside were almost unbearable. You felt like if you heard one more thing getting smashed, your own walls were gonna collapse.
"Hold on one sec."
Thoma suddenly slid away, but took a hold of your hand and led you towards the bed. For a moment you stared at him in confusion. Was he putting you to bed? No, he was leading you past it, over to the far side of the room.
You stood there, watching on as he pulled out his spear and dug it sticking upwards into the ground. Before you could protest, he swiftly stripped the double bed. Within seconds, (you don't know how he did it) he'd built a little homemade fort.
"Will this do?" he asked with a smile.
Your eyes lit up as you slowly crawled inside. The sheet walls blocked out the flashing lights and even muffled out most of the noise. The fort was just the right size, cozy without feeling cramped. And you were more than happy to let Thoma crawl in beside you for a cuddle.
You sighed happily as he took you in his arms. "This is better."
"Glad you like it, princess." He kissed the top of your forehead and rocked you gently from side to side. "Now you don't worry about me or Itto. You stay here for as long as you like, okay? I'll stay here with you."
"But-"
"I don't really fancy a rap battle," Thoma chuckled."I probably should have phased it better when I told Itto I was really good at dishing it out."
You couldn't help but snicker. "I kinda wanna see you rap now."
"What?"
"Who knows? Maybe we'll finally find something you can't do," you said with a smirk.
"Y/N!" Thoma chuckled, lightly tickling your cheek. You squealed and wriggled away, giggling as you did so. Thankfully Thoma had so much respect for your senses and didn't push any further. You sighed and sat comfortably in as much silence as this place would allow.
"Eyy, is this a bedroom? Is there anyone in here?"
"Damn it, the door's busted! And the bed's all stripped!"
"I think there's a couple in there! YES, they got some weird tent thingy! Aw great! Outside it is then!"
"I hope they're happy in there!"
You and Thoma took one look at each other and burst out laughing. You crawled back into his arms and snuggled up to him allowing your giggles to die down.
"Hey," you said, suddenly looking up with a smirk. "We haven't gotten a chance to enjoy the party yet."
"Oh?" Thoma blinked, cocking his head. "Would you like to come out?"
"Nah," you murmured, sliding your hands up his chest. "I like it in here. You said we could make our own fun, didn't you?"
You snickered as Thoma's face turned all sexy and suggestive again.
"Yes, I do believe I said that, m'love . . ."
He chuckled as you leaned in, landing your lips on his. As soon as you started kissing, everything in the outside world seemed to disappear. All you could focus on was his soft slippery lips, his gentle hands sliding up your back, his silky hair through your fingers, the warmth of his body, the soft moans he made through the kiss.
These were the kind of sensations you lived for.
When you were bonded with Thoma like this, all your worries just seemed to melt away.
For a moment you were in heaven. You forgot about the sensory hell outside.
Until Thoma's spear gave way and the duvet collapsed on both of you.
"Oops!"
Well I hope you enjoyed that! Thoma X Reader comfort aside, I loved writing Itto. He's such a fun character to play and to write.
