Thoma When You're On Your Period
"Hi m'love! Are you-"
Thoma bounced into the bedroom and took one look at you. You were all wrapped in blankets on the bed, curled up in a foetal position, clawing onto your screaming stomach. You lay in fear of staining your favourite sweatpants and worse, the sheets you knew Thoma had only washed the day before. But if you made the slightest shift, you would only aggravate one or all your cramps in every ounce of your body. Even your favourite romance story couldn't distract you from the pain- in fact trying to concentrate on it made your head shriek in agony.
Being a girl could be torture sometimes.
"You okay?" Thoma strolled up to you and crouched down so he could face you with big loving puppy eyes. He gently pried some of the blankets away from your face, getting a grumpy groan out of you.
"Is it that time of the month?"
You grumbled in response. Could he tell?
"Awww, you poor thing," Thoma chuckled, playfully pinching your cheek. You yanked yourself away, sending a stabbing feeling in your stomach and head. It made you whine angrily at him. He just laughed in response.
"I'm sorry. You didn't like that, did you?"
You scowled and pulled the blankets back over your nose. You just wanted to be alone, but deep down, you knew that Thoma was not going to leave you.
He did this every month.
And you loved it every time he babied you like this.
But Archons almighty did you hate admitting it. Especially when you were already in hell.
"Don't worry, m'love. I'll be back in a moment."
And off he went with a pep in his step. You grumbled and sunk back down into your little sheet wrap, squeezing your piercing stomach. Oh ARCHONS, your cramps were bad this month. And when you winced and curled into yourself, you felt a leak of blood escape down there.
Damn it.
You would need to change soon.
But if you did, that would mean escaping your cozy blanket wrap and exposing yourself to your own chills.
And if you aggravated your cramps or your headache any more, you were certain you were going to faint.
Mother Nature really had to go all out this month, didn't she? Bitch . . .
You sunk into your sheet wrap and let out a little "fuuuuuuuck . . ." You squeezed your eyes shut and whined as you heard Thoma's footsteps approaching. You awaited a loving ambush of honey tea and more blankets and armfuls of snacks. Sure enough, you heard him cheerily kicking the door open.
"Fear not, m'love! You won't ride the crimson ocean alone! For, I, your loving boyfriend, Thoma, am here to tend to your every need and help you endure this difficult time!"
You could have screamed. Not only was he going to smother you but he was going to make bad jokes all the way. You tugged the blankets over your face and buried your face into the pillow. And of course, the more you protested, the more Thoma laughed.
"Awww, c'mon! It wasn't that bad, was it?"
You wrapped the blankets so tight around you that it was starting to get kind of suffocating. Though at this point, you would probably welcome passing out if it would end your suffering.
"Are you hiding?"
You peeped out and gave Thoma a death glare that you kind of hoped would pierce into his soul and wipe that irritating smile off his face. He deflected your look with another laugh.
"Stop laughing at me!" Your blood boiled when your demand made him chuckle more.
"Sorry, m'love. You just look so cute in there. Like a little maki roll."
You yanked the blanket back over your head. He was so close to getting a "fuck off" or a weak insult of some sort. You just weren't in the mood for stupid cutesy jokes.
"Awww, sweetheart . . ." Thoma's voice was so irritatingly playful. "Don't you wanna see what I have for you?"
You already had an idea what he had. You weren't even that hungry. You decided you might as well get it done with and glared over the duvet. Your face immediately lit up when you saw what Thoma was holding.
"Oh wow . . ."
"Heh . . . Surpriiiiise!" Thoma beamed. "I made it just for you!" He raised a huge gift hamper in his hands, which was filled to the brim with all the essentials:
Your favourite brand of extra absorbent (pads/ tampons).
A bouquet of Windwheel Asters, Cecelias, Calla Lillies and Lamp Grass.
An incense holder with a collection of soothing scents.
A super luxurious looking bath set with sweet smelling bath bombs and bubble bath.
Over a week's worth of your favourite snacks- the extra large chocolate bar especially caught your eye.
The hamper was decorated with Sakura Blossoms, pink ribbons and a life size stuffed doggo with a heart stitched to its chest.
"Babyyyyyy," you moaned. And very slowly, your first smile of the morning spread across your face. It was so embarrassing, and yet it was so adorable. Above you, Thoma beamed so brightly, his eyes glistening with joy and a little pride.
"You didn't have to."
"Of course I did! You're my special girl. My little princess."
"Stoooooooop." And yet you had the biggest widest grin on your face. Unfortunately your own body cut you off with a stabbing feeling in your stomach. Your facial features tightened, your limbs curling in pain.
"Ow."
"Awww." Thoma gazed sympathetically down at you. "You got bad cramps?"
You nodded, shuddering as your stomach screamed again. "And a headache. It's . . . really sore this month."
"Ohh you poor thing." Thoma pouted for you and immediately started rummaging through the hamper.
"Where is it . . . Ah-ha!" He pulled out a white fluffy hot water bottle. You raised your eyebrows at the sight of it.
"Did you have that prepared in the hamper?"
"Of course I did!" Thoma chuckled pleasantly. "You really question my ability to look after my favourite girl in the whole wide world?"
Wow. You couldn't help but smile through the pain. Thoma really had to go all out, didn't he? Baby . . .
"So," Thoma began, smiling sweetly down at you with those big lovable puppy dog eyes. "Can I join you in there for a cuddle? Little maki roll?"
At first, you let out a huff. And then you murmured "fine." After all, he had gone to so much trouble preparing that beautiful hamper just for you. He had earned a cuddle.
It was kind of worth it when you saw how excited Thoma was to throw off his jacket and kick off his shoes and climb over you to try and get into the blankets. It was also pretty funny when he struggled to find a way to get in without disturbing your perfect blanket roll.
"How am I supposed to get in here? You really wrapped yourself tight in there, didn't you? Little maki roll." He chuckled when you grumbled at him. "That's my new pet name for you."
You shuffled a little, giving him just enough room to climb in with you. Mainly so you could reach down for the hamper and pick up the extra large chocolate bar.
"Call me little maki roll one more time and you're not getting any chocolate."
"Okay, princess."
If he hadn't snuggled up behind you, you definitely would have given him another death glare. Instead, you sighed and relaxed into the blankets, in his arms. As you took a big bite of delicious chocolate, he placed the hot water bottle on your stomach.
"Is this where it hurts?"
You took his hand and guided it down to the right spot. Immediately the soft wamth of the bottle soothed some of the shrieking pain inside. Thoma rubbed it in a circular motion, rubbing away enough pain to make it bearable again.
"That nice?"
You nodded blissfully. The pain he couldn't rub away, you ate away through lovely rich chocolate chunks. You relaxed more into Thoma's arms as he kissed the back of your neck. You'd almost forgotten how much you loved his cuddles. They made you feel so warm and cozy and comfortable. As you sunk into his body, you sensed him lean over your ear with a big grin on his face.
"Can I have some chocolate?" he whispered sweetly.
Well . . . after everything he'd done for you, you supposed he deserved it. You smiled and broke off a nice big piece for him.
"Thank you!" He beamed as he popped it in his mouth, squeezing you even tighter.
"I love you. I mean, I'd still say that if you'd said no, but . . ." He sighed happily, fanning his hot breath over the back of your neck. "I really love you . . ."
You sighed yourself and allowed him to nuzzle up closer to you. You don't know how he did it but he was even warmer than all these blankets around you. You would have told him you loved him too if your thoughts weren't interrupted by the shrill pain in your head.
"Owww . . . my head . . ."
"Awww. Poor little Y/N." Thoma brought a soft warm hand to your head and tenderly stroked your temple in little circular motions. He gave your stomach little loving squeezes, sending more warmth and comfort throughout your body.
"Remind me . . . these pains usually last (no.) days?" He pouted when you nodded.
"You poor thing . . . that's a long time." He scattered little kisses over your head as if trying to kiss your headache away. It actually soothed it a little, helping you to relax more.
"Don't worry m'love. I'm off work today. So we can cuddle as much as you want. I'll be here to take care of you and make you happy. Heh, if you want me to, I'll carry you to the bathroom where you can change and run a nice hot bath all for yourself. And if I do have to work tomorrow, you can cuddle the teddy. It can warm up all by itself! Probably won't be as nice as me, but I'll do my best to be here to look after you . . . my special girl . . . my little baby . . ."
You were shaking with how much you were trying to conceal your chuckles. He was being such a dork. But deep down inside, you loved it all the same. You bit happily into another bit of chocolate which you were amazed hadn't melted with all this warmth. Thoma must have felt your insides trembling with inner laughter because you sensed his sunny smile beaming behind you.
"You're so cute . . . I love you so much," He planted another kiss on the back of your head and snuggled up more behind you. "Little maki roll."
Okay, you had to admit, the maki roll nickname was sticking- it was pretty cute. You sighed and pressed his hand holding the hot water bottle on your stomach. His hand was nearly warmer than the bottle.
"Can I read my book while we're here?"
"Of course!" Thoma smiled. "You can do whatever you want. Just know that I'm gonna be here all the way."
You scoffed playfully as you reached out for your romance novel.
"Want me to read it to you?"
You turned around to face him for the first time so you could give him a goofy "really?" face. As always, he just laughed it off. You tutted a small "fine" and playfully smacked the book in his face.
"Ow!" he chuckled, though you both knew you hadn't hit him that hard. "Okay, you wanna sit up? Don't worry, we don't run the roll."
You took up the hamper as you both sat up together on the bed and dropped some snacks on your lap. Thoma wrapped his soft warm arm around you and allowed you to snuggle up to his chest. It was even softer and warmer than the pillows.
"Are you sitting comfortably, m'love?"
You nodded happily, munching away at your snacks, holding the hot water bottle over your stomach.
"Great." Thoma pecked you on the forehead and raised the open book. "You're on this chapter? Okay." He cleared his throat and began to read.
"He took me in his arms and swung me around. Oh my hero . . . how handsome he was! Hmm . . . reminds me of someone," he said, giving you a teasing smile. You responded by sticking your chocolate covered tongue out at him.
"Okay."
As Thoma continued to read the story, you sighed contently, sinking into his chest, warm and very comfortable. Oh Thoma . . . You gazed dreamily up at him. He had such a way of taking your worst periods and making them a little more tolerable.
Archons, did you love him for that.
Well I hope you enjoyed that! Hope this was especially good for any readers who might also be on their period right now! Hope you all have someone to look after you or at least a way to make it more bearable! Periods suck and we really need to talk more openly about them.
If you enjoyed this story, please Follow and Fav! And let me know if you have any ideas where I can write more of Thoma being so blessed and wholesome. He deserves the entire world (and more people writing about him).
