The inevitable had finally come, Grime and Yunan were going to return to Amphibia. They stood in front of the crowd of people they have met on their journey so they could each say their goodbyes.
Yunan gave Lilith a hug. "Take care Lily."
Lilith smiled sadly. "I hope you find a new hobby that doesn't include writing stories."
"Oh no, I can't do fiction." Yunan said. "Instead I shall tell the tales of when I was General Yunan!" Yunan began posing. "Scourge of the Sand Wars! Defeater-"
Lilith pressed her hand against Yunan's mouth. "Hey, don't do that."
Yunan then went to Eda. "Take care of yourself Eda."
Eda wiped a tear from her eyes. "You too Yunan. You know, if you ever see this lady you've been on about, tell her I said 'You can do better.'"
Yunan knew Eda was joking and laughed. She pulled her into a hug and began whispering Eda's ear. "Get a hook for a hand. Show your enemies The Owl Lady still can't be trifled with."
She pulled out of the hug and moved on to Pacifica. "Come here!" Pacifica was about to hug Yunan until she punched her in the gut. "That's for being an annoying cellmate!"
Pacifica held on to her gut and groaned. "Feeling's mutual."
Yunan then pulled her up and hugged her. "And that's for being the best annoying cellmate."
Pacifica was about to argue over the gut punch but then returned the hug to the newt. "I'll miss you too you violent bitch."
Yunan grinned sinisterly. "I'll take that as a compliment."
She then walked towards King and ruffled his head. "See you around, kiddo. Make sure you grow up to be a strong and powerful god. Just like me."
King laughed. "You're not a god."
"Well, how come no god has ever tried to kill me?" Yunan laughed.
The newt then approached Marcy so she could hold the tearful teen by the shoulders. "Master Marcy, I wish we spent more time together."
"Yeah." Marcy wiped away a tear. "When you see Yunan again, I hope you two get together so you can get married and have little Yunan's and Olivia's."
"A prissy sister and a fight happy brother would be perfect." Yunan said.
Grime then began to say his goodbyes to everyone. First he started off with Anne. "Boonchuy, we got off on the wrong foot at the beginning, but…I salute you!" Grime gave Anne a salute that she returned. "You're a great solder and ally."
Anne pulled Grime in for a hug. "Goodbye Captain."
Then Grime moved towards Gus, whom was already crying, not ready to say goodbye to his father figure. Grime got down on his knees and pulled Gus in for a hug.
"Goodbye Grime, I won't forget you." Gus said.
"Neither will I." Grime said as he hugged him tighter. "You were like the son I never had."
"And you were like my second Dad." Gus said. "I hope you do great things in your home."
"I hope you do great things in your world." Grime said. "And if you could, make sure you bring good relations between your world and this world. You are the ambassador after all."
"Wait, what?" Pacifica asked.
"Quenten Trembley." Dipper explained.
"Oh."
Grime then turned to Sasha who had her back turned against him. "Sasha? Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry Grime." Sasha said.
"Are you sure?" The toad captain asked.
It took a few moments before Sasha turned around to reveal that she was crying her eyes out. "IM GOING TO MISS YOU SO MUCH!"
Grime's own lips began to quiver with sadness. "I'm going to miss you equally as much! Maybe more!"
Sasha held on to Grime. "You better take care of Amphibia when I'm gone!"
"And you better take care of yourself!" Grime sobbed even harder. The two held on to each other for a bit as tears fell from their eyes.
Everyone else in attendance had their own tears falling from their own eyes. Luz was sobbing wildly while Dipper did his best to hide his tears but they were very evident.
Alador then held on to the box and gave a cough to grab everyone's attention. "I hope you're ready. It's time." He turned the key of the box, causing it to open and to project the portal to Amphibia.
Grime and Yunan walked towards the portal, not really prepared for the world they were about to encounter on the other side. Especially since they had just gotten used to the worlds they had lived in. But they knew Amphibia was their home and there were people there who missed them.
"Are you prepared to see the other side?" Yunan asked.
"How different do you think things will be?" Grime asked. "What if it's not the same world we once knew?"
Yunan gave Grime a smile. "Then we'll survive. Like we did."
The amphibians turned around to face the others for one last time and noted their tears and their waves. They both gave sad tearful smiles before walking through the portal back home.
The portal closed and everyone stood taking in the silence. Until the box shook and then disintegrated into dust.
They watched as the wind blew away the ash into the sky as the link between the Demon Realm and Amphibia was cut forever.
"So now what?" Amity asked.
"Now we find a way home." Camila replied. "Because no offence, I still have a job and Vee has been covering for me for a couple of days now."
"Oh yeah she is." Marcy said.
"Also, wasn't our flight today?" Anne asked.
"Shit!" Dipper exclaimed. "The flight! I haven't got your passport Paz."
"It's okay." Pacifica assured him. "You can just make a fake one."
Alador then pondered something. "Hmmm, actually….There could another way."
"What is it, Mr Blight?" Willow asked.
"I still have a fraction of The Core inside my mind." Alador's response made everyone shiver.
"The chip." Marcy said with worry before everyone just began backing away.
"No! The Core may have been smart, but it chose the right person." Alador assured them. "I've assimilated them into my mind as soon as I was free."
"How long did that take?" Amity asked, genuinely impressed.
"Psychologically, 9 hours but to you, it was twenty second." Alador replied.
Marcy exhaled with jealousy. "I wish I was that smart."
"So, before I have that expansive surgery to remove that chip from my brain I know how to mix the Titan's blood to Earth but to certain locations." Alador explained.
"What about other worlds?" Sasha asked, hoping to see Grime again.
"Like Amphibia." Anne said.
Alador gave a sad sigh. "I'm sorry. But Earth is all I know."
The girls gave each other some sad looks as the hope to go to Amphibia for a visit was now gone. "Okay, how long will that take."
"Something like that would take three months." Alador replied.
"WHAT?!" Pacifica exclaimed.
"But, I can get it down to a couple of days." Alador said.
"Maybe less." Dipper said as he walked up. "How about a day?"
"Or an hour?" Marcy asked.
"Or a second?!" The Collector exclaimed.
"A second?!" Alador asked. "How could you do it in a second?"
The Collector smiled. "Observe." They snapped their fingers and summoned some wood from midair. He looked to the door of the Owl House and blew it, causing it to shatter.
"MY HOME!" Hooty screamed in horror.
The Collector snapped their fingers and summoned a pink and white door with a yellow shooting star. Then, he began to build three doors out of the separate piles of wood.
The Collector placed the three other doors on the ground. One of them was a blue Pine Tree, the other was a of the three coloured gemstones and the other was of an ocean.
Everyone looked at the doors with impressed looks. "Nice job." Luz said.
"What are these doors?" Gus asked.
"These are the doors that will take you to the Human Realm." The Collector replied. "I might not travel to Amphibia and other places, but I can make portals to the Human Realm."
"How?" King asked. "You'd need some Titan's blood."
"Oh, I absorbed some of your blood without looking." The Collector's response made King shocked.
"Weh?!"
"Sorry. Probably should have asked." The Collector said.
"But how do you make the blood go to different locations?" Dipper asked.
"Simple, you just have to mix it specific ways for a specific amount of time to get to that location." Alador explained.
"Exactly!" The Collector responded while pointing their fingers. "The original Titans taught me that method before my brothers slaughtered them."
"But, are these home?" Pacifica asked. "How do you know if you got us to the right location?"
Suddenly, the blue pine tree door opened and Stan poked his head in looking confused. "What the heck?! What happened to my outhouse?!" He then noticed Eda. "Marilyn is that you?!"
Eda quickly slammed the door shut with desperation. "Nope! Consider me stealing your car as a divorce!"
Dipper froze with horror. "Wait, you're Marilyn?"
Anne opened the door that had the three coloured gemstones and saw that it lead to Sasha's backyard where Mr Waybright was about to put a shovel away. "Hi Mr Waybright!"
Mr Waybright gave Anne an awkward wave before the future deity closed it. "My backyard? Then that means, the shed has been converted into a door? How the hell is Dad supposed to get the lawnmower?"
"We'll figure that out." Marcy replied.
Luz opened the pink door and saw that it opened to Gravesfield right where the abandoned shack was. "Home, here we come!"
"Hang on, what's the fourth door for?" Hunter asked.
"That leads to this Oceanside." The Collector replied. "I don't know what this Chinese is, but I wanna try it. Do they have pizza bagels?"
Everyone laughed at The Collector's naivety, since they did not have pizza bagels.
A while later at Snackie Chan's restaurant down at Oceanside, the entire Guardians were eating by a ginormous table with about 16 chairs for them not even caring about the people who are witnessing them.
Everyone was just very exhausted from the intense couple of days that they had that they didn't even care that The Collector was with them enjoying everything from the menu, Hooty was just devouring the chow mien like it was nothing, Anne with her robotic arm and the witches having their ears out.
The only time they spoke was to the waitress who asked what they wanted so they ordered practically everything from the menu even though it would cost almost everyone 900 dollars.
Some of the people in attendance, included 11 year old Hailey and her best friend Scott, looking on with their eyebrows raised.
"This is so weird." Hailey remarked.
"Yeah. I've never seen anything like that blonde lady with abs." Scott remarked.
Hailey looked baffled. "That's what's bothering you?"
"Yeah. I've never seen anyone flaunt them so confidently." Scott ate his noddles from his fork as opposed his chopstick.
Lilith was pondering a spring roll, trying to dictate if it even tasted good. But she shrugged her shoulders and just ate it.
Luz and her mother ate some peking duck together until Camila realised something. "Dipper, did you remind the staff of mine and my daughter's lactose intolerance?"
"I did yes." Dipper replied.
"Okay." Camila said. "So, when you said you saw my husband…"
"Yeah, I really did. And it wasn't Heaven or Hell." Dipper replied.
"I see."
Amity looked at her fortune cookie and instead of opening it, she just plopped it in her mouth. Then she began gagging and opened her mouth to pull out the small piece of paper.
"Waitress!" Alador called out to the waitress, who walked over in a matter of seconds.
"What's the problem?" Asked the waitress whose name tag read 'June.'
"My daughter took a bite of this cookie and there was a piece of paper in it!"
Then, Gideon and his girlfriend Sue, an African-American woman in her mid twenties, entered the restaurant.
"So, this is the best restaurant in California?" Sue asked.
"That's what the internet said." Gideon replied.
"Uh Gideon, isn't that your author friend?" Sue asked as she pointed to the people sitting together by the table.
Gideon froze in fear at the sight as he saw Dipper, the witches, that weird house tube thing and Pacifica.
Marcy gave him a wave as she slurped her soup. "Hi Gideon!"
Gideon saw Pacifica and then exhaled. "Really Dipper?! You snitch on me for using paranormal stuff but here you are, girlfriend alive and well! You absolute hypocrite!"
"Dear, calm down." Sue said. "How about we go for Italian instead?"
Gideon inhaled before exhaling. "Seriously Dipper, just get out!" Him and his girlfriend left the restaurant to go eat someplace else.
Pacifica ate her deep fried rice and began to ask Dipper something. "So Dipper, did you have a funeral for me?"
"Oh we did." Dipper said. "Except I missed it. They're also planning one for Hunter since they don't know that he's alive. But Soos and Melody named their son after him."
Pacifica slammed her drink on the table. "And I'm just learning this now?! Soos and Melody have had a kid?!"
"Yeah, sorry about that." Dipper said.
"So, do you think Darryl will be attracted to you even with that arm?" Sasha asked.
"I hope he instead learns to keep the hell away from me." Anne replied. "Like seriously, I don't know if people with false arms are his thing."
"He has a friend with a false arm." Sasha said. "He might be attracted to you more."
"Damn!" Anne exclaimed.
Eda ate her chicken until she noticed something. "Hey, that bald human and his pals have been watching us for a good while."
Turns out Mr X, Jenny and Agent Powers were watching them but not like they were studying them, more like they were just surprised to see them.
"Hi X!" King exclaimed while giving a wave. "Don't worry Collector. They might seem like scary high strung government guys, but they're cool."
Powers turned to X with an annoyed look. "X, when you said I didn't want any weirdness on our week off, we swear we weren't-"
"Powers." X interjected. "Don't. Just don't. We'll wipe their minds when this is over."
In Amphibia, Grime and Yunan had been travelling for around a week to get to Wartwood and they were almost close. They noticed how much the ravaged land had grown. There were trees growing, flowers blooming even though it was autumn time and fresh water.
When they had returned home, they were at what remained of Newtopia which had now become more like a lost city due to how decrepit it looked. And replacing it was New Newtopia which appeared to be a bit of a work
And right away, they began they instantly began their long journey to Wartwood. They dodged the shifty Stony Gulch, wined and dined at Ribbitville without paying a cheque because Wally paid for them, braved the tricky terrain of Quarreler's Pass, ran from a bunch of bank robbers, fought their way through a truck stop, ate in a dark forest, carefully treaded through Bittysburg and admired the luscious green filed that lead to Wartwood.
They walked through the forest that was leading to Wartwood where they spoke. "Remind me why we're starting at Wartwood?" Yunan asked.
"You suggested it!" Grime argued.
"I did?" Yunan tried to think back to when she suggested it but couldn't come up anything. "Remind me why I did."
Grime facepalmed himself. "To quote you, 'To see if they know about my darling Olivia'."
Yunan smiled. "Oh yeah! I am! Going to Wartwood, to see a beautiful girl and…What the frog do I say?!"
Grime placed his hand on Yunan's shoulder. "I think you should do the first thing that comes to mind."
"You mean pick her up and kiss her on the lips?" Yunan asked.
Grime would have argued that it wasn't consensual but he knew that this newt missed the love of her life and just shrugged his shoulders.
In the distance, they saw a giant who appeared to be gardening. It had a great white beard, one arm, a dark purple robe, leaves in that big white beard and light blue skin. It looked to be a giant newt. It was gardening with a giant rake while there were shackles around his ankles.
"We are close to Wartwood right?" Yunan asked.
"I don't know, let's ask that giant hermit." Grime and Yunan approached the giant. "Pardon me sir, do you know if we are close to Wartwood?"
The giant hermit smiled. "Last I checked before I lost my vision, you are very close."
"Okay, thanks." Yunan and Grime continued to walk toward Wartwood.
"Was it just me, or did that hermit look familiar?" Grime asked the newt.
The newt hermit listened to the conversation with a smile, and went back to raking the leaves. "Good to know that they're back."
When Yunan and Grime arrived to Wartwood the first thing they noticed about the entrance. The town motto was replaced with a new slogan. 'Home of Anne Boonchuy. Hero of Amphibia.'
Yunan and Grime were surprised with the change. But then again, Slow to accept, even slower to respect was not a tourist friendly sign.
"Wow!" Yunan remarked. "They change that crappy, judgmental slogan? They trying to get tourists?"
Then, from the gates came a girl wearing overalls, ginger hair, purple skin and a bow on her head. She gasped at the sight of the toad and newt.
"Grime! Yunan!" The girl exclaimed with glee.
"Do we know you?" Grime asked.
"You dumb toad. Last you saw me, I just gained my legs." The girl replied.
It didn't take long for Grime and Yunan to figure out that this was Polly, now having grown into a little frog.
"Polly?!" Yunan exclaimed. "My goodness you have grown!"
"Yup! Lost a tail and grew hair." Polly said. "And wearing clothes! You should have seen what went on when I refused to wear these overalls. I ran off with a nudist colony. Anyway, did you finally beat Belos? That took you long."
"Yeah, progress on that was slow." Yunan said. "I'll tell you when I find Olivia. Is she okay? Where is she?"
"She's just having tea with Hop Pop." Polly replied. "I'll take you to…Where did she go?"
Grime looked confused as he realised that the newt was no longer standing beside him. "I have no idea! She just vanished!"
"I didn't even take my eyes off of her!" Polly said. "By the way, what happened to your arm?"
"It's a long story." Grime replied.
Meanwhile, Yunan was running through the town of Wartwood to try and find the Plantar's farm. As she ran through the town, she ran past Maddie who had her stand, Sprig and Ivy doing some cartography together, a statue of Anne put on display in the centre of town, a mural dedicated to the Fellowship of the Box and even Joe Sparrow and Bessie taking care of a family of snirds. Snail/birds.
On the porch of the family farm, Olivia and Hop Pop were sharing some avocado tea with each other.
"So, how are things with governing a new era?" Hop Pop asked the newt.
"Oh it's difficult doing it on your own." Olivia replied. "I can barely get any sleep from the paperwork and uneasy squabbles between frogs, toads and newts. Wish I had a couple of helping hands."
"Well, maybe when Grime and Yunan come back, maybe you could get them to help you out." Hop Pop said.
"When?" Olivia sighed. "Mr Plantar, I had this awful thought. What if Belos won? What if Grime and Yunan are dead? What if there will not be any chance for me to tell Yunan how I feel?"
"You can't think thoughts like that." Hop Pop said. "You should still hope that everything will turn out okay."
"How will I know things turn out okay?" Olivia asked. "I can't ask her if she's okay! I can't ask her if she's dead! I can't ask her if she's won! How am I supposed to know? How is she supposed to know that I want us to try and be together?" She hung her head down sadly while Hop Pop gave her a sad sympathetic look.
That was until he noticed something in the distance that gave the old frog a smile. "Well, why don't you ask her yourself?"
Olivia shot her head back up and stared at Hop Pop with what looked to be insulted and confused. She looked to where Hop Pop was looking and saw Yunan by the entrance.
The former general had a smile on her face and tears falling from her face. "My lady."
Olivia stood up, in disbelief over Yunan being there right in front of her. "General?"
Hop Pop smiled at the two newts before departing inside. "I shall leave you ladies to it."
Olivia and Yunan took a few steps forward, wondering if they were seeing each other. Olivia had given up on hope of Yunan being alive and felt that the universe was playing a trick on her. While Yunan thought that this moment was just a dream and wanted to be prepared for disappointment.
But instead of thinking this through, they just ran towards each other and did the first thing that came to their heads. They wrapped their arms around each other and shared a deep passionate kiss with one another.
Yunan was slow and gentle like Olivia, like she wanted to savour every moment with her. While Olivia was rough and intense like Yunan, as if she was letting out every feeling she had right out.
After a while, they stopped kissing and began to discuss the bright future they wanted together.
