SilverPsychic; YEEEEEEES! This is an exciting chapter! We got some French Drama/lore finally. Exciting.
Silver; Why are you excited for drama…in a different language?
SilverPsychic; Simple. I was originally gonna have you fight with our wonderful Frenchy like 7 chapters ago but it seemed too soon. So instead, just a small sprinkle of drama now that maaaay or may nooooot have to do with the main storyline. Anyways, Silver? Would you do the honors?
Silver; …I'm so worried…DISCLAIMER! PSY DOES NOT OWN EITHER FANDOM! THIS IS A FANFICTION IF YOU FORGOT SO…WELL…IT'S MADE BY A FAN. I feel weirder and weirder doing these disclaimers. We are 23 chapters in, should we stop?
SilverPsychic; Nah, sometimes readers come in and get introduced to the story in random chapters. Anyways my lovely Chaos Born Heroes…READ AND ENJOYYYY! (Also Smudgaze, YOUR TOO SWEET! 3333 Thank you!)
Chapter 23; Pediophobia…with some tea, please!
"See? It's not doing anything to you!"
Silver stared at the plush in his arms, Mina's hand on the object to make sure Silver kept holding it. The hedgehog boy knew he was gonna die, and mentally started planning his will and funeral. He wasn't even screaming or shaking or panicking anymore, he was just accepting his death as he now held it in his arms. When Ashido let go, Silver flinched but the doll didn't move. Somehow it was acting normal…some darn how. The hero in training was hesitant to accept that this doll wasn't gonna hurt him, and that was probably a good thing. Cause after a few minutes of everyone saying that it was fine and Silver was just being dramatic and now he could get over his fear and stupid stuff like that…the doll burst alive and began quickly spider-climbing up Silver's arm in an unnerving fashion.
Silver was quicker than anyone else to respond, due to his guard being up and not trusting the doll demon. The dressed-up ivory teen quickly threw the doll from his arm, his face serious before looking at his class. "SEE?! I TOLD YOU!" Silver shouted before his brain remembered he was supposed to be in fear because of the doll and Silver quickly scampered up the wall, defying all physics due to his fear.
The class went into chaos, everyone running and screaming with the doll causing it to get worse. The doll would start climbing up legs or bite arms and just teleport onto people in the most horrific fashion. Silver didn't know what to do, he was so scared of that doll but he couldn't let his class suffer. Worse is he would have grabbed the doll minutes ago but it kept disappearing into the mess of fear. Finally Silver spotted it, somehow hovering in front of him, and Silver just kinda turned off his brain for a moment. He jumped onto the doll and pinned it to the ground, unsure what to do next. Everyone was okay and calmed down a little seeing Silver catch it, but no one knew what to do with it.
Ashido panted with fear as she shook from adrenaline, "You're right, oh my gosh you're right. I'm never gonna doubt another psychic hedgehog-boy classmate of mine again." She jumped back when the doll suddenly jerked and Silver quickly pressed it down again.
"What do I do with it?!" Silver quickly shouted in panic, he didn't want to get bitten by this thing! He doubted it would do anything BUT DOLLS DON'T BITE!
"Kill it." Todoroki said with his hands on fire, "If it's dead it can't kill us." Kirishima voted in agreement along with Bakugo and Kaminari before Silver shook his head.
Still struggling to hold down the doll without being bitten by it, Silver huffed, "No, that will just let a livid ghost out, and then he could possess us! Better the doll than us!" The room went semi-quiet with the doll jolting around under Silver's weight, "Come on, what do I do now?!"
"I was gonna say burn it but that's just like killing it…" Momo muttered and pulled her lantern away from the doll. The demonic creature still wriggling in Silver's grasp.
Silver looked nervously at the doll and went back to his class. He couldn't kill it, he…well to be honest didn't know if the doll was possessed or not but he didn't want to risk it. He couldn't let it go cause it would cause panic again or it would disappear which seemed worse than it being with them. He couldn't contain it because he didn't want to summon more creepy things whilst Tails Doll was in their presence…
Silver sighed and tried to calm himself down, "To be honest, I don't know if it's possessed or not. It could just be…" The teen caught himself, crap he almost forgot he wasn't supposed to say he knew about the origins of the doll. Amber orbs looked at their hands that were pinning the doll down as Silver bit his lip.
"Could just be what…?" Bakugo asked in a skeptical tone, before drowning with a dawned realization, "You made this to scare us didn't you? Just so we could fricking leave quicker, huh?!" Bakugo stomped towards Silver with a scowl and the platinum teen quickly shook his head.
"No! No, of course not!" Silver quickly defended himself, but what he was originally gonna say he wasn't sure if Tails doll was possessed or programmed to act like this…to be fair it was an Eggman invention, "Why would I make something like this up?! You see it right here!" Silver frowned before thinking of something Bakugo could latch onto and use against him, "I'm also not using my quirk, no glow on the doll or my hands. Or even my eyes. So the doll is acting like this on its own!"
Everyone fell into a thoughtful silence, the wriggling from the doll being the only noise for a few minutes. The psychic teen couldn't tell if there was a tense feeling in the air or a confused and concerned one. After about five minutes Silver couldn't help but frown when Ayoyama spoke up. Since Silver had gotten his memory back and seen so much proof indicating he hadn't been confused, the Hedgie-boy found himself more spiteful when Ayoyama tried to put on a friendly face around Silver. They both knew about the other but didn't have a choice but to sit back and keep the other's secret safe. It's not that Aoymama liked Silver, he may have genuinely liked Silver when he had amnesia but when Silver remembered Aoymama just seemed to know…and both of the classmates tried to keep up the ruse but neither wanted to. Silver was more tense and spiteful around the Frenchy while Aoyama was more passive-aggressive. Silver wasn't the best at hiding emotions, while Aoyama seemed to be a pro at it. To everyone else, he'd seem fine but Silver could see the true meaning behind his facade…and it wasn't pretty.
But it still sometimes seemed Aoyama was genuinely trying to win Silver over, "So…when you said 'it could be'…" while other times, "…have you seen this doll before?" Other times Aoyama was a spy trickster trying to get Silver into trouble he couldn't get out of…but he never said it outright.
"Well," The Hedgie-boy glared at the Frenchy, "I don't remember, remember?" Both teens silently glare at one another, the rest of the class highly confused as to why the two seem to get into more fights with each other. Silver turned his attention to the doll before sighing a little, "It does seem familiar but I can't quite place it…" Guilt filled him as he lied, his tail wagging a little with nervousness, "I was going to say maybe it was programmed that way but it's a doll…I don't know why I'd act like it's a robot…" Silver bit his inner lip to refrain from showing guilt for his lies. (A\N; Recently learned that hedgehogs only wag their tails when nervous, scared, or threatened. Oops… ^^;)
Ayoyama glared at Silver skeptical but Silver simply ignored his sharp gaze, "Monamï(My Friend)," the Hedgie-boy's ears pinned to his head in annoyance hearing those words being uttered out of the French teen's mouth, "Please be honest with us." Silver glared at the doll with all his pent-up anger towards Ayoyama, wishing the doll would just burst into flames with his death glares, "Is zis…perhaps your plush?"
Stifling an abrupt laughter, the young psychic trainee glanced at Aoyama, "Oh, you can rest assured this isn't my doll." Silver looked back at the doll, trying to formulate a plan on what to do with it. Ayoyama must have hated him today because as Ayoyama opened his mouth to ask another jarring question, Silver simply picked up the haunted doll and threw it at Ayoyama's face, "I'm outta patience for stupid questions, try again when you have a valid one." Silver said in a sweet innocent voice, not looking at the French teen who now had one mad doll biting his face.
Ayoyama flipped out having the cursed two-tailed plush land directly onto his face, Silver aimed correctly without even looking. The blond trainee screamed and tried to rip the plush off his face but Tails Doll was like a leech and stuck to his face. Seeming to try and suck Ayoyama's soul out of his body. The rest of the classmates exploded into panic and tried to help Ayoyama, Izuku made a face of confused frustration with Silver before trying to help the struggling teen. Silver just stared at the wall, trying his best to hold back laughter and keep his calm innocent stature. Tails' doll decided he had enough when Bakugo threw him into a wall and the cursed doll teleported away, leaving the room tense. Ayoyama was shaking with nerves and panting with fear while Silver turned to Ayoyama.
"So!" Silver gave an innocent smile to Ayoyama with some hidden hate, "Any useful questions now? Or did the doll eat your brain?" His innocent smile turned more into a teasing smirk.
Ayoyama simply frowned, but didn't say anything and looked away from Silver, "Je ne veux pas te parler, tu es un méchant hérisson. (I don't want to talk to you, you're a mean hedgehog.)" Silver was thankful his psychokinesis could translate because now he could laugh at his friemenies response, a soft scoff of laughter escaped Silver and he rolled his eyes.
"Oh?" Silver couldn't help but respond, "Suis-je le méchant ? C'est drôle, tu n'aimes pas tes propres médicaments.(Am I the bad guy? It's funny, you don't like your own medicine.)" The look of shock that crossed through Ayoyama was brief, but his panic and astonishment were well seen which made Silver smirk further with amusement. I Guess Ayoyama hadn't thought that Silver could understand foreign languages. That in itself was funny, had he thought Mobuin's spoke Japanese?
Sadly Silver's amusement faded with Ayoyama's sharp response, "Au moins, je suis un vrai humain.(At least I'm a real human.)" Ayoyama's tone was normal as if they weren't in an argument, in-fact, he might as well have been acting like they were talking about plans to escape, Silver on the other hand, growled lightly at Aoyama with his fangs bared and eyes squinted, "En fait, mon ami, j'ai gagné ma place dans cette école. (In fact, my friend, I have earned my place at this school.)" Silver's hands clenched and Ayoyama gave a thoughtful and innocent face as if they were talking about something normal like pizza toppings, "Pendant que tu(While you)," The French teen paused for dramatic effect, "n'a pas. (did not.)" Silver hissed at the trainee in front of him wanting so badly to punch Ayoyama's face. (A\N; Warning, I don't expect some of that French to be accurate because I used Google Translate, lol I'm sorry for anyone who speaks French if it's confusing or speaks of something random.)
Izuku quickly stood in between the two, "Ok, no more speaking French!" He noticed this was a heated argument and didn't want his two friends to start fighting, sadly no one else in the class knew French and they were all lost on what had been spoken.
It was clear though Silver hadn't liked what was spoken, it seemed odd from an outside standpoint that Silver was mad while Ayoyama seemed calm. Silver clenched his teeth and continued to hiss at Aoyama, his hedgehog tail wagging as he felt threatened and his quill-like hair was slightly puffed. "Evil Antoine." Silver abruptly turned away from Ayoyama as he muttered in a Mobain language under his breath.
Izuku continued to try and de-scale the situation, thankfully after a few moments of silence both freshmen were calmer towards each other but still were not totally happy with one another. They glared at one another before acting as if their mini-argument didn't just happen. Silver turned away from Aoyama while the other riled-up trainee did the same. Izuku glanced between the two before finally getting to the point where his frustration couldn't be contained.
"Ok, what's going on between you two?!"
The room fell into a shocked silence when Deku shouted, the abnormality of All Might's prodigy yelling making everyone a little scared. The two teens in question only stared at Izuku before looking at each other in a glance, sharing the same thought before looking back at Midoriya.
"You guys have just been so…awkward around each other! I don't understand what happened! Silver you've been at Ayoyama's throat for weeks, what did he do?!" Izuku said, the confused and frustrated emerald orbs locking with Silver's shocked amber ones.
There was a pause before Silver swallowed and gave a nervous smile, "Nothing happened, it's fine. We are just uh…"
"Dumb fighting teen boys." Ayoyama filled in Silver's sentence with a similar expression, "We simply get into quarrels, our cultures are er-q-quite different moi nami(my friend). It's just a harmless tussle, a small bickering, a worthless joke of a conversation." Ayoyama proceeded to explain, going over the top again as he waved his cape with a dramatic expression.
Silver glared at Aoyama for a moment before sighing, "We're sorry Izuku, we didn't mean to make you mad." The psychic's head dipped with guilt and he stared at his shoes.
"Oui Oui(yes yes), we didn't intend to make you upset moi nami(my friend)." Ayoyama gave Silver an uncomfortable hug to try and prove they were 'getting along', "Our deepest apologies Midoriya."
Silver tense with the hug and swallowed hard, but forced a small smile and nodded. Izuku looked between them, obviously not buying the act but he sighed. "…Silver are you…jealous?" Deku said with a frown and Ayoyama paused confused, Silver got completely offended but couldn't say his response before Izuku spoke again, "You do understand I have other friends, right?"
"Of course I know that!" Silver sharply cut in before Deku said anything more, "I'm not jealous of you being friends with Ayoyama!" The Hedgie-boy's tone showed he was offended and his face only mirrored it. '...I'm worried…' Silver thought to himself with defeat. A heavy sigh escaped him and he turned away from both of his classmates, "…Sorry if I'm coming off as…jealous…" Just the word alone felt so wrong and gross to say, "… I'll stop fighting with him…" Silver softly muttered under his breath like a child who felt bad for being in trouble.
Aoyama only nodded, spewing some vocal garbage to satisfy what Izuku wanted to hear. Silver couldn't help but hear his friend's words in his mind. Jealous. Was…was he jealous that Izuku was getting closer to Aoyama…? No! Silver quickly shook that thought away, of course, he wasn't! He just wanted to protect Izuku from Aoyama! He wasn't jealous of his French classmate! Why would he be jealous of Aoyama? It was a foolish thought, Silver had no reason to be jealous of Aoyama.
A soft scoff escaped Silver as he tried to repress the thought but his doubt was like a plague and wouldn't leave him alone…it was deeply rooted in his mind, bouncing around uselessly in his head and wearing down his resistance to the negative idea. It slowly but surely ate away at him, replacing his confidence with guilt. Jealousy just sounded so wrong…and of Aoyama…for his friendship with Izuku…that sounded like such a selfish thought…but it was Aoyama…! Was he jealous? All this time when he thought he was protecting his best friend…was it just him being green with envy that Izuku was close to another…? But Silver never minded when Deku was close to anyone else…just Aoyama…
"Well…" Izuku's words once again brought Silver to the real world, the self-doubt still clearly lingering in the psychic's mind, "…Okay…please be nicer to each other at least? Maybe not fight…a lot? You don't have to be friends but…you are both my friends so please don't fight every time you talk to each other maybe?" The words were spoken to 'both' of Deku's friends but Silver knew it was aimed at him. The soft jade gaze finally looked away from Silver and the room was left once again silent.
Silver felt his blood go cold and everyone sat in the quiet and awkward room. Aoyama scooted away from Silver while the Hedgie-boy fought his new addition to the mental war. All these feelings were beginning to feel a little too much for the poor hedgehog like a Mentos put into a Coke bottle with the cap screwed on…the pressure began to build in him and he felt panic rise in him. Silver quickly closed his eyes and swallowed the newfound lump in his throat, quickly taking control of the pressure inside and stomping out his panic. Not here, not now. It wasn't the time or place to let anything get a hold of him…not in front of his whole class…they needed to get out which meant he needed a brave face. Not a broken one.
He still needed to let out a little pressure though…or else he might explode. Silver opened his eyes and allowed his power to trace the walls and halls, making a mental map of the place while releasing some of his pent-up stress. It was his go-to whenever he felt himself on the verge of…verge of breaking maybe? He wasn't sure on the verge of what, but it always felt awful like he was about to explode. So to prevent that he let out his inner pressure by using his powers. It was like letting the pressure out of a shaken-up bottle of soda, a small leak that always helped him.
So that's what he did, he didn't have anything to throw or to hold or to destroy so Silver let his mind wander. Literally. His psychokinesis traced the walls lightly like a radar, giving him a map of the room and some of the halls. He could vaguely tell the room had stirred some soft conversation again, most likely about the doll that Silver stupidly let go. But since Silver was so focused on mapping the area around him, they almost sounded miles away. The ivory psychic couldn't help but close his eyes and bend down to touch the ground in an attempt to better his focus. His mind stretched out of the room, tracing every object to give him a better mental image. It was like a 6th sense, like a bat's echolocation or a platypuses sensory perception.
His breath hitched though and he almost vomited his heart out of his chest when his mind traced a tall human figure in the hall. Silver's eyes flew open wide and he scrambled a little backward, the shock filling him as his mind tried to process what he just felt/saw. Hagakure jumped at Silver's sudden movement after he's been so quiet and still for so long.
"What's wrong?" Kirishima asked looking at Silver confused, "Were you just possessed or something?" Kirishima lightly laughed in a nervous manner but Silver didn't respond, only counting his classmates to make sure he didn't just feel/see one of his classmates.
"Did…" Silver said with his breath caught in his throat and he wheezed, "Anyone go into the hall…?" When everyone shook their heads confused, Silver nearly fainted and counted his class again.
Izuku seemed to get worried for Silver's well-being, "Why? What's wrong? Were you possessed by a ghost?!"
Silver didn't reply as again all 21 students -including himself- were there, "If everyone is here…" Silver turned pale and felt his world spin as he fell rooted to the floor, "…then who is out t-there…?" His voice was lower than a whisper and he could barely breathe, Silver was too terrified to check the details more clearly.
"The freaking doll you let run away?" Bakugo scoffed, not impressed by Silver's fear. He thought it was obvious, "And what do you mean? You never left the room." The bitter teen narrowed his eyes, "You can't fool us Pigtails."
Silver slowly shook his head, "Bakugo…it was human…" The room fell silent, and everyone felt a chill run down their spines, slowly closing together to feel safer, "I was mentally mapping the area…" Silver was near tears but could barely talk, his throat was so dry it hurt, "…something that w-was like a h-human…in the hall…"
"…What did it look like?" Mina didn't even further question what Silver meant by 'mental map' but she just trusted him, "W-Was it like any of us…" Her voice too was soft, and she clung to Kirishima as her life depended on it.
"I…I couldn't tell the details…it was tall and humanoid though…" Silver whimpered, too scared to do much, what if he turned around and it was right behind him…?!
Kirishima quickly whispered back, "Well check what he looked like! Where is it now?! Should we be running?!" Silver shook his head, he was too scared to check again! "Come on man! You need to! Your our ghost radar please man!" Kirishima's pleads were quiet as Silver felt utter panic fill his system.
Despite all his instincts yelling for him not to do that, Silver shakily took a breath and gently reached out his mind again. He poked around as softly as he could, mentally feeling the walls and floors, slowly and hesitantly peeking his mind into the hallway again. He paused, not feeling anything but also not wanting to go further. Silver inched his power along the floor and walls of the building as softly as he could, trying to be lighter with each inch. After a moment of slow moving and not finding anything, Silver inched a little further and then froze stiff.
He wasn't sure if it was a rock or a foot. After it didn't move and Silver assumed it was a person or ghost, it didn't notice his power, or at least not yet. So Silver inched further and indeed it went up, Silver traced the figure as lightly as he could. From what he could feel/see, it was facing away from them at the moment, but it was closer than before. Its mental energy was heavier and somehow also more free which made Silver almost puke with fear. He couldn't feel/see color or pattern but it had some sort of mask on to cover its face. A long robe or dress maybe with long slender hands. From all the signs he had and the extra 'free' energy Silver felt from it, it was 100% not a normal living being. And 99% probably a ghost.
What scared Silver more was he wasn't sure if ghosts knew when he traced them or not, but he didn't want to risk it. This ghost seemed so…weird. Why was it here? What connection did it have to this place? With his deep fear, Silver also felt a newfound curiosity. Maybe it was a nice ghost? It wasn't like he hadn't seen nice ghosts before. Sonic had found a really sweet princess ghost once. But…this ghost didn't seem friendly…the psychic focused a little more, it didn't have shoes and seemed to have some liquid on its mask. Were they tears? Or blood…? Or maybe this ghost went for a swim-? Was it wrong to be hopeful this was just a nice ghost that looked mean?
"Where is it…?!" Kaminari frantically whispered and Silver jumped a little at the sudden noise.
Silver kept his eyes closed and focused on the ghost a little more, it hadn't moved yet… "Uh…It's still in the hall…it's t-tall and has some sorta mask on. Maybe like a long shirt or a dress that has long fingers…I think its mask is wet too…"
"Yep, we need to run." Izuku said, his voice laced with a terrified tone, his voice still in a whisper, "Any windows to jump out of?"
The psychic frowns, "Maybe it's a good ghost…?" Bakugo hit Silver in the back of the head for his stupid thought, but that made Silver tense up physically and mentally. The light trancing Silver once had on the ghost not being so light anymore. And the ghost noticed that.
Silver didn't have any time to react or barely even process what happened when the ghost responded quite violently to Silver's harsher touch. It spun around, facing Silver straight on and quickly rushing towards the psychic. The Hedgie-boy didn't even have time to scream or feel fear surge through him as the ghost painfully tore at Silver's power and mind before using it to its benefit. Everything seemed to freeze, all his thoughts and feelings just froze and everything hurt so badly. It was like something was clawing behind his eyes and at his brain, but he didn't even have time to understand he was in pain before his consciousness cut out like lights being suddenly unplugged.
SilverPsychic; El pooky. 0.0 I had no idea what I was doing with this and was sooooo stressed with it for so long. I did decide to make a storyboard for this though so I have an idea on how it's gonna go now! Yay, less stress!
Silver; Nice! It's good to get into the good habits of storyboarding a bit so when you finally decide to post that other fanfi- *SilverPsychic smacks Silver's mouth shut* Mmph-?!
SilverPsychic; …Keep your mouth shut Silver. *Death glare* …Anyways since I'm not a good horror writer I decided to ask a wonderful writer I know for ideas or tips to make this scarier. She gave me some pretty good ones I intend to roll with and hopefully not mess up. But keep your hopes low because again…I do horrible with horror. So, if she is reading, then thank you soooo much because your ideas seriously helped!
Silver; *Pulls SilverPsychic's hand away from his mouth* Interesting for the readers, traumatizing for me…
SilverPsychic; Exactly! Next Time! Lol, I don't want to spoil much…but we are in some weird void I guess. And I think Silver hit his head a liiiiiittle too hard cause something is just…off. Join us for the next chapter _ - - ! …why is it being all w-weird li-ike t-that-?
