Chapter 33 - Jared

I had to admit that I was slightly scared and that didn't happen often. As soon as we stepped into Old Quil's backyard, I was completely amazed. There were tiki torches set up as a perimeter in a big circle in the center of the yard. As we approached the circle, Old Quil turned around and stopped us. "Bella, you will stand in the center." Old Quil said. Bella let go of my hand and walked to the center of the circle. "The pack, will stand on this side." He said pointing to his left. "Imprints will stand on this side." He said pointing to his right. Everyone moved to their designated spot. "Sue is here just in case we need her." He said. He walked past us and stood in front of Bella. "Everyone will make a vow of protection, addressing Bella as sister or mate. Is that understood?" Old Quil asked.

"Yes." We all said.

Old Quil started chanting while reaching for bowls. As he chanted he marked Bella's face with different colored paint. When he was done, he took a couple steps back from Bella. "Alpha, you are first." Old Quil said.

I watched Sam approach Bella and kneel before her. "Sister, I make a vow of protection. To protect you during times of darkness." Sam said before he stood and went back to his spot.

"Beta." Old Quil said, looking at me.

I made my way over to Bella and kneeled in front of her. "Mate, I make a vow of protection. I vow to protect you from those who try to harm you." I said, before I stood up and made my way back to my spot.

"Paul…"

Paul walked from his spot and to where Bella stood and he kneeled before her. "Sister, I make a vow of protection. I vow to protect you from yourself and be your confidant." Paul said, before standing and walking back to his spot.

"Jacob…"

Jacob walked over to Bella and like the rest of us, he kneeled in front of Bella. "Sister, I make a vow of protection. I vow to protect you from those that wish to cause you ill will." He said, before he stood up and walked back to his spot.

"Embry…"

Embry walked over to Bella and knelt before her. "Sister, I make a vow of protection. I vow to protect not only you but your family as well, because I know that their important to you." Embry said before he stood and walked back to his spot.

"Quil…"

Quil walked over to Bella and knelt before her. "Sister, I make a vow of protection. I vow to protect you because you are not just my sister, you are my family by blood." Quil said before he stood and made his way back to his spot.

"Leah…"

Leah walked over to Bella and knelt before her. "Sister, I make a vow of protection. I vow to protect you, by helping you find your way if you ever become lost, as you have helped me find my way." Leah said as she stood and made her way back to her spot.

"Seth…"

Seth made his way over to Bella and knelt before her. "Sister, I make a vow of protection. I vow to protect you by offering you my courage when you find it tough to have your own." Seth said before he stood and returned to his spot.

"Brady…"

You could tell that Brady was nervous as he shook slightly, but not like he was gonna phase. He walked over to Bella and knelt in front of her. "Sister, I make a vow of protection. I vow to protect you by providing support when you need it the most." Brady said, as he stood up and walked back to his spot.

"Collin…"

Collin was just as nervous as Brady had been as he walked over to Bella and knelt before her. "Sister, I make a vow of protection. I vow to protect you by offering a strong wall of comfort in the times that you need it." Collin said before he stood up and made his way back to his spot.

"Now for the imprints. Instead of a vow of protection, you will offer something to your Omega." Old Quil said. "Emily…"

We all watched as Emily, the first imprint walked over to Bella and knelt before her. "Sister, my Omega, I offer you a seat at my table should you ever need it." Emily said before she stood up and made her way back over to stand next to Rachel.

"Rachel…"

Rachel walked over and knelt before Bella. "Sister, my Omega, I offered a bed under my roof should you ever need it." Rachel said before she stood up and made her way back over to stand in between Emily and Kim.

"Kim…"

I knew this one would be hard. Bella still wasn't sure that she could trust Kim. She'd decided to take it a day at a time. I watched as Kim nervously made her way over to Bella and knelt before her. "Sister, my Omega, I offer you my loyalty. I promise to stand by your side no matter what the outcome may be." Kim said as she stood and made her way over to stand beside Rachel. I looked over at Sam shocked. He just shrugged. It was something that we'd have to find out about later.

We turned back to look at Old Quil. "Now the next part of the ceremony, will consist of the Omega making her vows to four members of the pack. The Alpha; her mate; the Alpha Female; and the Alpha Imprint. Understood?" Old Quil said. We all nodded. "Omega, approach you Alpha." Old Quil said.

We watched as Bella approached Sam and knelt before him. "Alpha, I offer you my loyalty. I vow to help the pack in any way, shape or form that you allow." Bella said before she stood back up.

"Now approach your mate." Old Quil said.

I watched as Bella took a couple side steps and knelt in front of me. This I hated. She should never have to kneel in front of me. "Mate, I make a vow to you. To love and cherish only you. To be your rock and your confidant in times of need." Bella said, before she stood back up. I could feel tears building up in my eyes at the words that she'd said. I knew I was a goner for the day that we actually did get married.

"Approach your Alpha Female." Old Quil instructed her.

Bella walked over to where Leah was standing and she knelt in front of her. "Alpha Female, I offer to you a vow of sisterhood. To stand beside you not only when you feel that you have no one else, but every other time beside that." Bella said before she stood back up.

"Now approach your Alpha Imprint…" Old Quil said.

Bella turned around and walked to where Emily stood kneeling in front of her. "Alpha Imprint, I make you a vow. I vow to you the chance at motherhood." Bella said before standing back up.

Wait…what?!

"Approach my child." Old Quil said. Bella walked over to where Old Quil was standing. "Kneel my child." Bella knelt in front of him. He place his hand on top of her head. "You have been blessed by the spirits as the pack's Omega. Guide them in the best way that you see fit." Old Quil said. As soon as he'd finished the tiki torches flickered for a minute before their flame returned to normal. "And we're done." Old Quil said with a smile as he held his hand out for Bella to help her up. I was sure that her knees would be hurting by morning.

"Is that it?" Bella asked Old Quil.

He nodded before he hugged her. "I'm so proud of you." He said, as I approached them.

"Thank you Uncle Quil." Bella said before to turned to me.

"Her symptoms will go away now?" I asked Old Quil.

He nodded. "Yes. She might experience a bit of after effects from the exhaustion but they shouldn't last too long. Maybe a day or two." Old Quil said.

I nodded. I turned to Bella. "Ready to go home?" I asked her. She nodded.
