Bianco Hills
[Episode: Mecha Petey Piranha]
After collecting the tenth and final Shine Spite of Bianco Hills, Mario chose to visit the place one more time to collect any remaining blue coins he might have missed. Mario could thank his luck that FLUDD was so versatile in cleaning up Bowser Junior's mess, especially on the air strip when he landed with Princess Peach, Toadsworth and the other toads. It also helped when the authorities arrived after he cleaned up the piranha-like goop mess that almost consumed the landing strip.
He did not know why, but Mario felt he was glad that Bowser Junior was at least taking the blame for his mess, rather than somehow in someway masquerading as him to ruin his image and make him clean up a mess that he did even do…huh, where did that stray thought come from?
Odd random thought aside, apparently the little tyke of Bowser's progeny had made it very evident to tell the citizens of Mario's various heroic feats in the mushroom kingdom, and for some reason made it abundantly clear that he was the hero to save them from Bowser Jr's chaotic reign across the lands of Isle Delfino. Thus, he was met with quite a bit of fanfare with the authorities and the people of the mainland once he arrived with the others.
Once he was able to clean the piranha goop monster that was covering its mess on the main plaza, out of nowhere came Bowser Junior in a little flying clown car on mini jets and started attacking him with goopy projectiles, rather than going for Princess Peach herself like how his father was known to do if she was ever in sight. In the end however, Mario was able to use his agile skills to be put to the test as he parkoured atop a few missiles and ground pounded into Junior's hovering vehicle.
It was only after the vehicle couldn't sustain any more damage, that Bowser Junior escaped into a warp star on the statue that had emerged after the plaza was cleaned up from the goop piranha plant. From there, Mario supposed he might as well help recover the shine sprites while looking for the Tyke to settle their little score that Junior had against him.
Mario shook his head as he walked through Bianco Hills, passing by a few trees and towards the WindMill; it was then that he began to hear the sound of helicopter blades in the air as something was flying in his general location from over the hills…no pun intended.
FLUDD turned her nozzle head and spoke with a troubled tone, "Mario, I sense something ominous coming our way." she said to him.
Mairo glanced over his shoulder to glance at her, and nod with a look of understanding as the sound of helicopter blades continued to grow louder; It wasn't long until, from the right side of the windmill from over the hills, came a flying mecha Petey Piranha. The Mecha had wings with propellers where Petey Piranha's leaf-like flaps were; the head was a mechanized contraption that occasionally spewed fire out, the top of the had was a dome where Bowser Junior could be seen piloting the mech of Petey Piranha. As the Mecha finally reached the stretch of land between the windmill and the land of trees he walked through before hovering in the air for a bit; the ground shook, causing Mario to stumble a bit as the nearby doorways leading into the area he was in closed, as well as the gates that allowed the water in the area to flow out closed as well.
Soon, the water level began to rise, with Mario hopping up onto a nearby tree to get to higher ground, and before long, the entire windmill area was submerged in water, with a metal arena now floating in the midst of it all. At the middle of the arena, Mecha Petey Piranha landed, with water splashing from the metal arena tipping back and forth a bit from the sudden landing of the mech; Mario, now standing atop one of the tree tops over the risen water level, watched as the dome on the headpiece of the mech opened up, and allowed Junior to stand and poke his head to give Mario an excited toothy grin.
"What'd I say Mario!? I told you I'd be back with a better mech!" Junior said with a triumphant tone of voice, and gestured for Mario to come over. "I might have said we'd face each other Mono a Mono atop the Volcano, But I couldn't wait any longer, I want to have fun while I wait!" He exclaimed, before sitting back down with the dome of the head of his Mecha Petey Piranha. The Dome then shut, closing Junior off from any outside attacks. "Now come! Let us battle, we shall up-heave the waters in our climatic fight within Bianco Hills. Fwa fwa fwa!" Junior spoke through the Mech's speakers to Mario, with an evil laugh at the end,
After a moment of odd silence from Mario and FLUDD, Bowser Junior spoke once again, "What? Can't a kid practice an evil laugh in the process?" He questioned Mario with an indignant tone.
Mario glanced over his shoulder once more to FLUDD, before looking back at the area where Bowser Junior was, and shrugged, before hopping and jumping his way over to the arena by treetops and large lily pads, and finally landed within the arena to face off against Bowser Junior in what Mario was sure to be one of many times he'd have to face the little tyke down in the various areas of Isle Delfino.
Mecha Petey Piranha
The Mecha aimed its head up, and expelled fire and orbs of goop that landed across the water and arena, prompting Mario to begin dodging the incoming fire and figure out a way to take down the mech that was driven by Bowser Junior.
Bowser Junior
Having made an effort to place various water rockets that were compliant editions for FLUDD to be able to use and fire back at his mech, Bowser Jr. was mildly amused as he used the fire from the mouth of his mecha Petey Piranha to just barely reach Mario to the edges of the arena; once the cool down initiated for his mecha's flame attack, Mario was granted ample time to run to the nearest rocket and aim it at his mech and fire.
With a jerk of the impact into his mecha bot, Junior watched from within his dome as Mario ran around his immobile mecha and aimed his FLUDD's nozzle into the exhaust port on the back of his mech, clearly left open and a weak spot for his adversary to defeat him. With a cling and clang of his mecha Petey Piranha mech going a bit haywire from water getting soaked into its system, Bowser Junior overrode the systems and got the Mech to cease its floundering and stand back up.
A small smile forms on his face, "Awesome!" Junior exclaimed in excitement as he piloted his mech to slowly turn and face Mario while he was already in the process of running and grabbing another rocket to fire at his mech. He would have built the mech to last longer and be equipped with more weapons, but they were in the first area of many on isle delfino; it wouldn't do for him to go all out on the first big battle against Mario.
Once Mario repeated the action two more times, and obligatory three or so attacks for any given boss in a stage, Junior watched as the systems within his cockpit of the mech began to go haywire, prompting him to lift the glass lid covering the emergency eject button and slammed his fist into it. With some sparks and flames fanfare, the mech's torso exploded while the domed head flew up with a propeller under it.
Mario
With a heave of a sigh of relief as he watched Junior escape the blast radius of the mech's torso, he watched with wariness as the headpiece flew around and hovered just above the arena with Bowser Junior standing up within the dome in the headpiece; it opened up, allowing Junior to lean out and give him an excited smile, "Not bad Mario! Not bad! But this isn't the end between us! We'll meet each other again, count on it!" With his piece said, Junior placed his fists on his sides and propped his foot on the edge of the opened dome cockpit, "Kyahahaha!" He laughed, before calming down and gave him an expectant look.
After several seconds passed between them, Junior blinked and slapped his face in embarrassment before sitting back down to allow the dome to close back up and fly away. "Gah! I was supposed to fly away while laughing evilly! How can I forget something so easily?!" Bowser Junior berated himself as he flew his headpiece of his mech away, while the water in the flooded area drained away, allowing the doors to open back up; the arena on the other hand split up into sections while Mario hopped his way off, the sections soon had propellers fold out, and carry the sections out of Bianco Hills.
FLUDD spoke up just as a Shine Sprite came flying from over the hills from where Junior flew off at, and landed just in front of Mario. "I don't think that child knew that he left his mic on." She remarked with an inquisitive tone. Mario shrugged back at FLUDD, and promptly picked up the Shine Sprite with a little twirl and fanfare on his part; Eleven down, many more sprites to go.
