Gelato Beach
Hosing down the beach to find another hidden blue coin, Mario smiled as he found a painted shine sprite under the sand and fully washed with with FLUDD, eventually a blue coin popped out of the sand where he sprayed at, allowing him to walk over and pick up the coin and save for later to buy a shine sprite from the boat house; as Mario lifted his arm to wipe his forehead from the intense heat of the beach beating down on him, he took his red hat off to fan himself off a bit before placing it back on.
"Mario." FLUDD spoke from behind him on his back as she spoke from her nozzle to him, "Might I suggest taking a dip in the ocean to cool off? It'll allow me to suck up more water to refill my reserves, while you lower your internal temperature." she suggested to him, prompting Mario to check his water gauge, and nodded in agreement.
Jogging a bit to the calm waves that wash along the beach, Mario began to walk within the water until it was up to his knees, before taking his cap off once more, and dipped it into the ocean, then placed his wet cap back onto his head; Letting out a refreshed sigh, Mario enjoyed the short moment of cold water washing down his face, if only he could enjoy his vacation with Peach like they had planned to.
As Mario began refilling FLUDD's tanks back up, the atmosphere began to become oddly strange as the ocean water that was up to his knees, began to dip down to below his shoes; with a confused expression on his face, Mario looked around to see that indeed the ocean had retreated away from the beach.
"Mario." FLUDD spoke up as Mario spun on his heels to turn and watch as the ocean continued to retreat from the beach, "I detected an abnormality beneath the ocean currents." she said as Mario watched a whirlpool begin to form a good distance out from the beach and in the ocean waters. The whirlpool began to widen while the ground beneath Mario shook.
The ocean around the whirlpool began to become choppy and chaotic as from out of the center of it, a mechanized Wiggler that was twice as large as the one Mario fought the first time, emerged from the whirlpool. Mario had to crane his head up as the mechanized Wiggler continued to emerge out of the whirlpool, its long body continued to be upright, until finally a third of its body plunged down towards the beach.
"Mario!" FLUDD said as Mario began to make a dash for it to further inland, "Make for higher ground, the ocean will no doubt come rushing back as a small tsunami." She warned, which Mario didn't need to be told twice as the other inhabitants, Nokis and Piantas alike, screamed in fear as a rush of ocean water came rushing back inland while the Mecha Wiggler finally fell its entire body to now lie flat on its segmented body.
While the locals were able to make it to higher dry land, Mario was stuck with leaping onto a nearby palm tree, and climb up it to stand atop the palms; as he successfully hopped onto the top of the palm tree he climbed onto, the moderately small tsunami rushed came rushing in, managing to bend the tree Mario was on a bit, prompting him to bend his knees to stabilize himself. Once it all eventually calmed down, and the ocean water began to steadily retreat from the beach, Mario looked outwards towards the mechanized Wiggler as it let out steam from its many retractable pipes along its segmented body.
Finally, steam exited out of the metal nostrils of the mechanized Wiggler, before a hatch atop the head part popped open; from out of the hatch, Bowser Junior could be seen climbing out as if he was using a ladder, before hopping out to stand atop the head of his Mecha Wiggler. From out of his shell, Junior pulled out a large Paint Brush, and began to twirl it around until he finished with a flourish and slammed the butt end of it beside him while placing his fist on his hip as he eyed Mario from afar.
"Mario." FLUDD began to talk to Mario while she turned her nozzle to speak, "I do not think he fully expects you to fight that mechanized Wiggler." she observes, while in the distance, Bowser Junior can be seen beckoning Mario to confront him with an excited smirk. "I stand corrected." FLUDD continued to speak from behind Mario, "I believe he is challenging you to a duel atop the mechanized Wiggler." she noted.
With his many experiences against the Koopalings, Mario expected a familiar fight against the little tyke as he hopped down from the tree, landed softly on the sand, before jogging his way to the Mecha Wiggler."
As he began making his way towards the mechanized Wiggler, the mech while still within the deep end of the ocean, began to gently swim along the shore. Mario began to look around to see if there were any turbo nozzle boxes nearby, no way would he be able to get on the contraption with it moving. It was then a loud boom echoed from the mechanized Wiggler, and before Mario could react in time, a red and blue nozzle box landed in front of him.
FLUDD turned her nozzle to the side as she spoke to Mario, "Mario, I believe that child sent you an experimental Turbo Nozzle." She began to say, "Open it up and see what upgrade it has to the Turbo Nozzle." FLUDD urged Mario..
Mario gave a nod in agreement as he rushed over and hopped onto the box to break it open, and out popped a turbo nozzle with an additional set of twin nozzles that'll shoot over Mario's shoulders once he equipped it; Mario would essentially be able to dual shoot while being jettisoned along the ocean waves from the Turbo nozzle part of the new FLUDD upgrade part.
Without another moment to lose, Mario grabbed the upgrade part, and like many times before when he touched a FLUDD upgrade, the entire backpack of FLUDD and her nozzle changed instantly; Before Mario could react though, a set of water skis exited out the bottom of FLUDD's pack and clasped onto the underside of his feet, followed by twin sets of control sticks to stick out beside his hips for him to grab on and control the entire set up.
"Mario!" FLUDD spoke from the left nozzle, her tone was of surprise and awe. "I don't know how, but it seems that child has improved my creator's additions and added them all into one upgrade!" she remarked, as a set of small twin water jets lowered down from the bottom of the FLUDD pack upgrade, making it look like Mario now had an entire engine on his back that ran on and utilized water to its fullest extent.
Mario began checking the controls of the entire FLUDD upgrade, he nodded before clasping the control sticks and softly thumbing the buttons on top of the control joysticks that utilized the dual nozzles above his shoulders. "Let's-a goooo-" He yelled as his voice trailed off as he went sailing along the water, while the turbojets expelled large quantities of water out the back, allowing Mario to water ski up along the moving mechanized Wiggler.
