Pinna Park
Inside the cannon that Junior and Mario had retreated into, a pair of eyes blinked open in the inky darkness, before lights flickered on showing that the pair of eyes belonged to Mario; the plumber hero of Mushroom Kingdom glanced around before spotting Bowser Junior not that far off to the side working at what seemed to be the cannon's internal controls with various levers, buttons, and monitors to show the outside view. Junior turned around to smile up at Mario with his beady black eyes twinkling in mischief.
"So, what do you think? Sweet setup, huh!" Junior asked Mario with giddiness in his voice, and patted the console controls with a soft pat, "I even installed an interface for FLUDD to be able to combine her technology with my own!" he preened in excitement.
From behind Mario's back, FLUDD turned her nozzle to face sideways while speaking to the little tyke, "Since when did I ever agree to interface with your creation?" she queried with a miffed robotic tone.
"Oh!" Bowser Junior slapped his fist into his palm with an eager expression, "Once Mario finishes his heroism on this Island, I've considered taking you with me back home!" he gushed in excitement, "I've always wanted to work with a witty artificial intelligence!" Junior answered FLUDD's question with a broad smile.
Not sure how to take the fact that Junior was implying he'd take her from Mario once this whole mess was over, FLUDD decided to voice her opinion, "Mario, won't you need me after all this is over?" she questioned her user. "Are you gonna just let that child take me to do who knows what evil intentions?" FLUDD finished asking Mario.
Mario glanced between the two of them, and shrugged to himself, "Let's-a focus on that later, for now, we-a should focus on fighting Iggy." he told the two.
"I'm still gonna take you home by the end of this adventure." Bowser Junior said as he smiled a toothy grin, "I got so many ideas to work on with an AI companion!"
FLUDD swiveled her nozzle back towards Junior, "I don't know how to feel about that, my logic sensors can't compute any dangers in your words." she remarked in a confused robotic tone.
Up in the flying ship with Iggy, the Koopaling was pacing back and forth on the deck of his ship, waiting for Bowser Junior and Mario to launch themselves out of the cannon they took shelter into. "What's taking them so long…" He asked himself as he walked over to the side of his flying ship to peek over the railing and look down to the island below.
As if to answer his question, the cannon the duo took shelter into began to shake before the entire cannon launched itself from out of its holding and into the air from the assistance of several thrusters around its sides and one large thruster at the bottom of the spherical cannon. Iggy rushed to look over the banister of his ship and see what the loud boom was, as it was a bit louder than necessary.
Iggy's eyes widened before smiling sardonically as the entire cannon used its thrusters to propel itself through the air and towards his ship, "Oh…right, Junior's with Mario, I forgot the little tyke likes to go overboard with his machinations." he remarked as the repurposed cannon flew through the air and soared up towards his boat.
Turning around to get his koopas and goombas to get to their battlestations, Iggy was a moment too late as the flying cannon sphere flew over his boat and aimed its cannon down at his boat, Iggy looked up with an amused expression as he couldn't help but watch helplessly as the cannon's barrel charge up and spew out a condensed spray of torrential water into the deck of his ship.
Iggy and the rest of his crew stumbled and fell from the impact and force of the cannon's shot into the ship, and just as it finished its attack, the flying cannon jettisoned itself downward to crash into the deck of the ship; Iggy now found himself falling onto his shell as the cannon crashed through his ship and exited out the bottom before flying off to leave the ship to its fate as it began to sink out of the air and crash into the ocean below.
Letting out a cackle of amusement as he felt his ship fall out of the air, Iggy stood up and watched as the flying cannon sphere soared off to the mainland now that his boat was indisposed off.
Delfino Plaza
In the distance from the view of the eastern side of the plaza, a once flying ship could be seen having crashed onto the beach of the amusement park island, black smoke rose somewhat from the crashed ship and was visible from a distance. Laying awash the small island that was situated just off from the eastern docks of Delfino Plaza, was the mechanized cannon used in the short lived battle against Iggy's ship.
The Spherical cannon was smoking for its own reason, as Mario could be seen to have been ejected out from it and face planted into the sand of the small island; The hero of the Mushroom Kingdom soon came to and pushed himself up off the ground to stand up. "Mama mia." Mario groaned as he reached up and rubbed the back of his head.
"All you alright Mario?" FLUDD asked in response to Mario's state of being, earning a nod from the plumber.
Meanwhile Bowser Junior seemed to already be up and about as the little tyke had half of his body inside the side of the cannon through a service panel while leaning inside of it, electrical spark sounds and such echoed from within as Junior seemed to be in the process of configuring something.
Mario walked over to the little spawn of Bowser and figure out what went wrong with the landing, "Are you-a alright Junior?" he asked as he stood beside the tyke as Junior finally crawled out from the service panel and held within his grasp a few wires, all the while his face was covered with some burns and soot.
Bowser Junior frowned to himself as he showed the wires to Mario, "Yeah, I'm good, but I didn't properly connect the wires for the thrusters, and ended up with crossed wires that caused our crash landing." he commented as he reached up an scratch his head, "I could have sworn I didn't fudge that process up." Junior remarked.
In an effort to somewhat mollify the youngsters ambition of mechanized projects, FLUDD decided to let her voice her thoughts. "Cheer up Junior, going by my database, Professor had similar problems."
Junior smiled up at Mario and FLUDD, "Awe, shucks, I'm still young, I'm sure I will get to his level of brilliance eventually." replied.
Mario nodded, before frowning, wait, why was he trying to encourage the young tyke of his future ambitions?
"Anyways." Bowser Junior continued to say, "What's next? There's still a few more places left, which one do you wanna visit next?" he asked Mario.
