New chapter. Please enjoy.

It was a beautiful day outside in the forest. The birds were singing as the sunlight gleamed through the forest. The flowers bloom as the sun's rays reinvigorate them to continue their life cycle and grow.

*Thoom! Thoom! Thoom!*

And on days like these, Godzilla was currently... Running for his life. The now barely 3ft tall Godzilla fled from the towering 95-foot-tall Skulldevil. Godzilla was in a dire situation, running for his life with the towering Skulldevil hot on his tail. The once-mighty creature was now barely 3 feet tall, making him an easy target for the 95-foot-tall monster chasing him down. As the Skulldevil smashed and crushed trees in her path, she relentlessly pursued the killer of her child. Despite his diminutive stature, Godzilla refused to give up without a fight. His breaths were ragged, and his legs were about to give out under him. He was dehydrated and exhausted from running, with no end in sight to his pursuit. Godzilla's only hope was to find a way to escape his pursuer.

"I swear when I'm back to normal! I'm hunting down every goddamn one of you bastards until your all extinct!" Godzilla roared as he ran away. The Skulldevil was being blocked by the large trees in her path. While they were easy for her to knock down and trample, they kept her from capturing Godzilla.

Godzilla's heart was pounding against his chest as he ran. His short legs were laboring to keep up with the pace, and he was panting heavily, gasping for air. The Skulldevil was towering over him, and her every step was causing the ground to shake. Godzilla was zigzagging through the dense forest, crashing into branches and bushes, trying to put as much distance as possible between him and his pursuer. The Skulldevil's deafening roars echoed through the woods, and Godzilla knew he couldn't outrun her for long.

Godzilla's breath was ragged as he ran. In the past, when he was still massive, he swam in the ocean, letting currents speed him up and taking shortcuts through Hollow Earth to get around. But now, due to his diminutive stature, all he could do was run away from the massive monster chasing him. And Godzilla wasn't a good sprinter. His stubby legs were about to give out under him. Godzilla was dehydrated and exhausted from running.

As he looked around frantically, his eyes fell on a metal doorway on the side of a rock wall. It appeared to be a hidden lab or bunker built by humans, and the door was slightly ajar. With a renewed resolve, Godzilla pushed his tired body to its limits and ran towards the door. He zigzagged through the dense forest, dodging trees and shrubs, with the Skulldevil still hot on his heels.

Her deafening roars echoed through the woods, causing the ground to shake with every step. Godzilla's heart raced faster as he approached the door, knowing his escape was within reach. With one final burst of energy, he performed a gravity-defying dropkick, propelling himself towards the door. His heart was pounding against his chest, and he could hear the Skulldevil's heavy footsteps behind him. But he didn't look back. He focused all his energy on reaching the door and making his escape.

Godzilla flew through the narrow gap in the doorway while the Skulldevil slammed into the rock wall. The impact was so powerful that the tiny King of the Monsters was tossed around like a ragdoll and collided with several boxes nearby. As the dust settled, it became clear that this hidden laboratory had been abandoned for years. Godzilla could see the cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and the dust covering every inch of the room.

Panting heavily, Godzilla muttered to himself, "Finally...I made it through the door just in time." He knew that he had narrowly escaped a certain death, but there was still a problem. The Skulldevil was still outside, unable to follow him but most likely not leaving. Godzilla was safe inside the hidden and abandoned lab. The Skulldevil wouldn't give up her search and would wait for him. So he needed to find an exit other than the door he came from. While this lab couldn't protect against a Kaiju, against a Titan like the Skulldevil outside, it would hold, at least for now. Long enough for him to get his bearings and revitalize himself.

Godzilla slowly sat up, his massive frame trembling slightly. He glanced around at his surroundings, taking in the destruction he had caused upon entering the abandoned lab. His gaze landed on a crate that had broken upon impact. The words 'Military Supplies: Water & M.R.E.s' were emblazoned on the side. Godzilla's stomach grumbled in hunger, and he reached for a pouch of water and a bag of dried food from the broken crate. As he ate, he couldn't help but recoil at the bland taste of the MRE. "How do humans eat these?" he muttered. "I miss Rodan's cooking. Too bad he's still dormant... What I told him to do that..."

Surprisingly, he found that he could even read the human words on the crate. "After I woke up in this small body, I could think like a human, talk like a human, and even read like one," he thought to himself. He's still trying to wrap his head around all this. Finishing his meal, he surveyed the lab, looking for clues or hints about what might be inside. Suddenly, he heard a loud banging noise coming from outside - it was the Skulldevil, still trying to get inside. "I need to find another way out of here," he said to himself, rising from the floor and beginning to explore the lab further.

As he cautiously trod forward, Godzilla couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that lingered within him. The sense of uncertainty and the unknown future ahead weighed heavily on his mind. He knew he needed to find some answers or a way out of this place, but the path ahead seemed hazy and shrouded in mystery. Standing in the middle of the room, he noticed boxes of MREs and water scattered everywhere, camping equipment, and preserving bags, all of which were covered in a thick layer of dust. The silence was deafening, and Godzilla could see no other major rooms or signs pointing to such. It looked like a storage bunker, but it was hard to tell.

His current diminished form made everything around him appear much larger, reminding him of his past glory when he was towering over everything. He missed his larger size and the power that came with it. 'I will get back to my normal size. Even if it kills me!' Godzilla thought, then the Skulldevil slammed into the rock wall again, causing the base to shake. 'But for now, I should focus on getting out of here!'

Taking a deep breath to steady himself, the small but mighty Godzilla hurried deeper into the crumbling base. As he went, dust and debris rained down from the ceiling, adding to the sense of urgency. Godzilla knew that danger was hot on his heels, so he searched for a way out. Roaming through the ruins of the once-great laboratory, he scanned the wreckage for any sign of escape. Finally, his keen eyes picked out an exit on the far side of the hall. With renewed determination, Godzilla sprinted towards it, his heart racing with the hope of freedom.

His sharp reptilian eyes scanned the area. It was then that something caught his attention - the skeletal remains of a scientist lying on the ground. In his lifeless grip was a file with the words "Kaiju Cloning Project" emblazoned across the front. As Godzilla examined the file, his curiosity was piqued even further by the label on the lab coat of the deceased scientist - Apex Cybernetics.

A surge of anger coursed through Godzilla's body as his dorsal fins began to glow brightly. This was the same company that had created Mechagodzilla, using the desecrated remains of King Ghidorah in a twisted attempt to control a robotic copy of Godzilla himself. But things had not gone as planned - when Hollow Earth energy was utilized to power the machine, Ghidorah's consciousness had somehow connected with it, and a part of the monster's mind had been revived.

Like any titan, Godzilla's body was designed to feed on radiation and energy, and the anger within him burned brightly as his dorsal plates glowed with fury. Even though his body was now shorter and weaker than it had been before, Godzilla was determined to get to the bottom of what had happened at the laboratory and to make those responsible pay for their crimes. Godzilla approached the skeleton, his glowing form causing spiders and roaches of unusual size to scatter in fear. His eyes narrowed as he realized the implications of what he was seeing. The remains of an Apex Cybernetics employee lay before him, and it was clear that they were behind the cloning experiments he had been investigating.

With a deep, guttural growl of anger, the diminutive behemoth known as Godzilla lowered his clawed hand toward the deceased body of a scientist. The man's skeletal limb had been torn off and was still clutching a crumpled file, which the monster snatched with a swift motion of his arm. The hand fell to the ground, lifeless and forgotten, as Godzilla turned his attention to the document.

The first page of the file was labeled "Cloning Experiment: Skullcrawlers," and it featured a large, green stamp declaring the word "Success!" in bold letters. However, upon closer inspection, most of the other text on the page was rendered unreadable, as the ink from the stamp had bled onto the surrounding words, obscuring them from view. Despite this, it was clear that the project had been one of great importance and had been conducted with a great deal of secrecy and urgency. The fact that the file had been found on the body of a dead scientist only added to the ominous and foreboding atmosphere surrounding the discovery.

Godzilla sneered as he read the page. "So they cloned Skullcrawlers," he muttered. "You could get the same result of those pests by leaving two of them in a hole. Made that mistake once." He flipped through the pages, reading about the cloning of many monsters and Kaiju on the island. It was clear that he had stumbled upon something far more sinister than he had ever imagined. Each one with a big green stamp on the front.

Godzilla, the king of the monsters, was extremely anxious as he nervously flipped through the documents. He feared that he might discover himself to be a mere clone of the real Godzilla, implanted with his memories. Suddenly, he stumbled upon a page that caught his attention, which read "Cloning Experiment: Anguirus". Overwhelmed with mixed emotions, Godzilla slammed the file shut, marking his spot with a claw, and tears welled up in his eyes.

He muttered Anguirus's name with wavering joy, the hope of finding his old friend alive on the island. As he was lost in his thoughts, a Skulldevil smashed into the rock wall, causing a support beam to come crashing down. Reacting quickly, Godzilla dodged the falling debris in time, which crushed the remains of the Apex Cybernetic Employee. Following his instincts, Godzilla grabbed a shred of the deceased skeleton's lab coat and used it as a bookmark to save the page about Anguirus. He then put the file inside a plastic bag and packed it along with all the basic camping gear in a backpack. He also included several pouches of water and MREs.

As the base started to crumble and fall apart, Godzilla quickly slung his backpack on his stomach like an apron and made a beeline towards the exit opposite to the one he had entered from. With each step, rocks and debris fell around him, creating a deafening noise.

Godzilla could feel the ground shaking beneath his feet. Despite the chaos, he focused solely on reaching the exit as fast as he could. Finally, he could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Without a second thought, he dived out the doorway just as the rocks collapsed and sealed the doorway shut, crushing all that was inside while Godzilla slid on the ground.

Hearing the Skulldevil give up on her chase as the base was no more. Godzilla stood up and dusted himself off from the dirt. "Alright, change of plans. First, find this Anguirus clone. See if it's anything like the original. Then figure out why Apex is doing this. And find a way to get back to normal size," Godzilla stated. Then the miniaturized Kaiju adjusted his backpack as he began walking.

To Be Continued...

I hope you enjoyed this chapter. A bit longer than the last but still on the short side.
