Chapter 20: Break Part 1
In the street, an elderly lady walked down with her dog, about cross the sidewalk when a fast car almost hit them. "Hooligans!"
The driver and passenger happen to be two cats, The Cat Bandits. "Faster...drive faster, if he catches us we are done for!"
"Don't worry, Linkage has fought a villain in the park, he never knows-" The driver said interrupted by a noise.
*Knock...Knock*
They turned to see Linkage flying while smiling. "Say my name, I will appear."
"But...But..." The driver said in confusion.
"Fast speed guys, so pull over." Linkage respond sees the car drive fast, and sighs. "They always do that."
Linkage blasted the back of the car, simply throwing it in the car making both cat men scream in terror, Linkage fly under and holds the car by the top. The Cat Bandits fall down on the roof, Linkage flew to the police car and sees two policemen having a donut break, Linkage flips the car upside up and opened the door thus The Cat Bandits quickly go to the police officers.
"Take us in!" The passenger begged
"Get us away from him!" The driver shouts as they go on their knees.
The police officers smiled as waved to Linkage. "Thanks, Linkage!"
"No problem guys, the money is in the car, be sure safe, and have a good night. Gotta jet!" Linkage responds as takes flight.
Linkage simply flies in the sky, seeing the Royal Woods' lights all over shines, how peaceful is it, with the Atoms, Clyde, and Ronnie-Anne's help...it's finally less crime in their town. 'Finally peace and quiet around here.'
Linkage finally he made back home, transforming back into Lincoln, goes to the door, opened only see a ball going towards him. He held up his hand, and once made contact with the palm, Lincoln accidentally make a small energy shield, making the ball pop.
"Hey, you destroy my ball Stinkcoln!" Lynn shouts angrily
He sees his sisters doing lately routine in the house until Lynn shouts causing them to stop to see what's happening.
"Hey, you the one who kicks at me," Lincoln states with a bored look.
"Should dodge it, not destroy it you jerk!" Lynn roars and glares at him.
Lincoln rolls his eyes, he walked past her. "I don't have time for this, you have a load of sports balls...use another one."
Lynn gets angry, she really wanna punch Lincoln right in the...Lynn thought interrupted by Lori placing her hand shoulder.
"That was uncalled for Lincoln, where have you been anyway?" Luna asked with a glare.
Lincoln walked to the stairs, looking back and staring at his sister. "I'm with Clyde and Ronnie-Anne, just hang out all day."
"So you literally miss out on our family routines little hang out?" Lori asked
"I just wanna day off, all day just going to your girls' activities...simple one day, no big deal," Lincoln answered
"It is a big deal Lincoln, this family supports each other," Lori said
Thus Rita and Lynn Sr came out of the master bedroom, after hearing the shouts. "What's going on?"
"Lincoln keeps missing our events because he's hanging out with his friends," Lola answered
Rita and Lynn Sr look up as they told Lincoln "Lincoln, you have to go to the events," Rita said.
"Yeah, this family gonna need all the support they need no matter what!" Lynn Sr states while holding a foam finger.
"It's a day, besides...I gotta do little training." Lincoln said looking at his parents.
"Can you just wait, tomorrow is very important!" Rita replied with a glare.
"But, do guys what three days are?" Lincoln asked looking at them with a worried look.
"It's not important as your family, you better be ready for tomorrow...or you're grounded!" Lynn Sr shouts angrily
Lincoln only glares, he walked to his door, and slams it when he enters his room, he lay on his bed and looks to the ceiling. 'My dad...graduation.'
The clocks rang, and as the Loud Sisters getting beginning to line up in the bathroom, Lola looks at Lincoln's door waiting until it opened.
"Good, your here...not going nowhere I hope," Lola said with a suspicious glare.
"Relax, I going with you," Lincoln said annoyed.
"Good cause we got a whole lot of things to do Linky!" Leni replied with a smile.
Lincoln sighs, unaware to them he smiled.
In the forest, where the sun rises as fast plus fast blurs collide, shaking the trees, the blur stops, and seems to be Gar and Linkage both exchanging glares.
"Argh-Yah!"
Linkage does a roundhouse kick toward his normal self. Who blocked his attack is Gar both wearing their workout uniforms. Both of them exchange punches and kicks until both of them stop for a breather.
"Man, this is intense." Linkage state change back to Lincoln.
"Lincoln, I'm so proud of you...three months of training, jogging, and healthy food style, you got the physical body now.." Gar replied as he pull out his phone. "Look at this."
Lincoln sees a photo of himself on his very first day of training, all sweaty and ready to pass out as Garfield spoke. "It's you three months ago, look at you now!"
Lincoln looks at himself, while looking skinny he does have a fine muscle tone body even for a kid his age.
"Wow, I look...great," Lincoln said checking himself out.
"Of course, you'll be popular with girls once you get into middle school." Gar comments.
"Will you stop saying that, I'm just a kid be part of the crowd?" Lincoln replied
"Trusted me, girls like Ronnie Anne will check you out," Gar said pat Lincoln's back.
Lincoln blushed. "Okay, let's go."
"Are you sure, I cause I heard Sarah about the problems of your family?" Gar said with a glare.
Lincoln turns to Gar, and he gave him an assured look. "I know what it sounds, but it'll pass through their minds soon. They have these crazy antics all the time but things blow over eventually."
"If you say so, just concerned about you." Gar states.
"I been through worst than this, sometimes it hurts but knows what they did and over again. It's going to be okay-"
"Lincoln..." Gar said placing his hand on his shoulder and knee down to Lincoln's level. "Your family is a lot of things, but repeating the same mistake just got things worst. I know you're Linkage, a great superhero, but still...you're an 11-years old kid who has already been treated like an adult by your parents who wanted you to take care of your siblings as being your only brother. Remember, you got friends and everyone cares about you that can help you through times...okay?"
Lincoln looks down and looks up. "Okay, same time tomorrow...and you coming to my elementary school graduation?"
Gar smiled. "Wouldn't miss it, heck even Sarah and Scan come to congrats you."
"Sure, but before we go...can you teach me one more thing..." Lincoln said making Gar look confused.
The next day, Linkage is currently fighting against a new villain, who currently has Sarah as a hostage. He's just a minor villain.
"Stand back or I, the Juicer, shall turn this girl into a smoothie!" he spoke, he's just a long-nosed man wearing sunglasses, a smoothie-shaped helmet, and is dressed in a pink and red outfit with an apron. He has Sarah tied up in a rope hanging from a hook while she's over a giant blender in a warehouse.
"Oh for crying out loud," Linkage said in deadpan, as he uses his speed to go save Sarah from the blender while blasting the inside of the blender to stop working.
"My blender!" Juicer shouts as he gets sucker punched by Linkage while holding Sarah on his back.
"I don't know if it's a victory or just a waste of time." Linkage said as Sarah finish his call to the police.
"Thanks for the saved, that guy used to be Ciao Andrea, a smoothie-making guy. But now since his wife left, he made smoothie bots and mixers to win her back. Used me since my father is one of the top scientists, the police will arrive soon." Sarah replied as put the phone back.
"Hang on, I taking you home." Linkage responds as he does a low-level speed run to Sarah's house.
"So Link, how's your week? I heard this is your final days of elementary school, as summer vacation is about to start." Sarah said
Linkage only gave a serious look which worries Sarah. "It's been a crazy week."
"Crazy week? What do you mean?" Sarah asked.
"Well, I was forced into going to sisters' events for support rather than have time for myself. My parents were angry that if I miss one event, they grounded me." Linkage told her while running through the street.
"Ground you? That's a bit dumb, more of harsh." Sarah states.
"My family, not a chance. Once they say it, no going back...I know what they needed me, but sometimes for once just get away from it all..one to relax, after a long day of being Linkage, it's just...I wish they understand." Linkage said
Sarah likely worries about her friend right about now. "Lincoln maybe you should talk to them."
"I'll try. We are at your place now." Linkage replied stop by the front yard, Sarah step off Linkage.
"Thank you for helping me get back home, Link," Sarah told him, patting his head.
"No problem, Sarah." Linkage responds "Well, gotta jet." he said as he flew up high.
'Hope you'll be alright Lincoln.' Sarah thought as she went back inside her home.
John stood in a room for what appeared to be a holographic room of his most desires. He wears an attire of a Victorian-era suit, holding a glass of Champaign. Standing in front of him is who appears to be Sarah but she wears a fur coat, small bra, and thong panties with gogo boots.
"My dreams of world conquest, Sarah Atoms as my mistress, while my enemies are dead." John spoke while caressing "Sarah's" face down to her chest, but his fingers ran past through the hologram projection. "But soon this will become a reality."
"You really wanted her," spoke Sula.
"She has a wonderful body, a great figure that I wanted to spend time with. But that certain hero, ruined it...make my plans ruined it, I'm giving him a chance to join me and give it all he wanted of his desire," John said in low venom, so angry he breaks the wine glass. "...but he decided to play hero and keep her away from me and that old fool living."
"So what's the other phase?" Sula asked
John turns to her. " I wanted you...to destroy their lovable bond."
Second the day, the main trios walked out of school with their elementary school yearbook, they checked their pics this past year in the school.
"Ha! remember this one...we panicked due to cold weathered," Clyde said
"Yeah, when I finally know who you are." Ronnie-Anne states
"Yeah, change m-...no, all our lives," Lincoln said seeing a poster makes his glare. "Vote for Teherby of mayor."
"Don't worry Lame-O, he's going up against a good mayor this time...she really good of ideas making the city great for people and Metax." Ronnie-Anne states
"I hope so, John does everything to get power especially get Sarah and drive me to put down," Lincoln said seeing a fire coming from nearby. "Duty calls,"
Clyde and Ronnie-Anne see Lincoln going behind a tree and transforming into Linkage, taking off to the sky as Clyde spoke. "Good luck."
"Maybe he needs help, let's just make sure he needs backup." Ronnie Anne said with a smirk beginning to charge in danger.
Clyde places the three years books in his bag. "Wait, Ronnie-Anne."
Linkage flew down on the bank, and he saw just a bunch of thugs with...tech weapons? 'How on earth do they-' He sees them wearing metal masks. 'John...dame it...'
One of them looks at the hero. "Linkage here!"
"Blast 'em!" Another shout
All of them begin to shoot at Linkage with dark laser beams, which make Linkage create an energy shield, he looks around seeing the people hiding. 'I can't use blasted people here...think man.'
Ronnie Anne and Clyde see the bank, sneak to it, and only see Linkage in trouble, they try to find a way to help until spotting a fire alarm...in a quick moment, Ronnie Anne hits the alarm to make the fire alarm ring.
"Who-" The leader spots the intruders. "YOU!"
"Way to go you two!"
Linkage knows that voice, he turned to see his grandfather. "Pop-Pop?!"
In anger of their plan is ruined, he turns to one courage them. "Shut it, you old man!"
Pop-Pop was quick to duck out of the way and hide behind a table. The leader then redirected his laser to the roof above Pop-Pop and caused rubble to fall onto him and knock him unconscious.
"POP-POP!" Ronnie Anne and Clyde shouted in unison.
"NOOOOOO!" Linkage gained a pissed expression as the thugs continued to laser at him. The thugs then see Linkage fly toward them at top speed but punches them hard to the ground. "I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOU GUYS RIGHT NOW!" Linkage reared gripped weapons and burns the guns into ashes and destroyed them. Linkage turned his head and delivered a death glare to the leader as he kneeled down on the ground of surrounding.
When Linkage flew towards Pop-Pop and picked the rubble off of him.
"He needs to get her to a hospital...now!" Ronnie Anne said.
"Here I'll call 911." Clyde then pulled out his phone and started dialing but stopped as Linkage pick him up, creating two clones for Ronnie Anne and Pop-Pop.
"No time. The hospital where Mrs. Santiago works are just down the street." Linkage then started to speed away and headed towards the hospital.
"Your grandfather has suffered a severe concussion. He'll be out for several more hours. He also has several saturations and a broken leg." Mrs. Santiago explained this to Lincoln, Clyde, and Ronnie-Anne.
"He's gonna be ok right?" Lincoln asked looking at his grandfather who he's asleep.
"Don't worry Lincoln I promise he'll be fine, all he needs is some rest and get back up and be better in no time. So what happened?"
"Well these criminals showed up at the bank and started to rob the place, then Linkage showed up and beat them all up but...Pop-Pop ended up getting caught in the crossfire." Clyde explained.
"Woah is this all true?" Mr. Santiago asked as the trio nodded their heads, well except Lincoln who keep staring at his grandfather. "Well like I said earlier he'll be perfectly fine, should be out of here by tomorrow night."
Suddenly rumbling could be heard from the hallway. The four poked their heads and saw the rest of the family running down the hallway toward the hospital room. When the family reached the entrance they all stormed in and started to ask a barrage of questions to Mrs. Santiago a little frightened.
"Ok, ok calm down everyone be quiet one at a time." Mrs. Santiago said as the family calm down.
"Is my father ok?!" Rita asked face to face with Mrs. Santiago.
"Yes, he just needs a little rest and he should be out of here by tomorrow night and she should only have the cast on for a few days at the most."
"What happened to him?" The twins asked in unison.
"There was…an incident at the bank," Lincoln answered Ronnie Anne pats his back.
"Is there anything we can do?" Lucy asked.
"I could get some of my equipment and perform some tests on him," Lisa suggested.
"NO!" Everyone shouts at Lisa and shrinks.
"That won't be necessary sweetie all he needs is rest and he'll be good as new in no time." Mrs. Santiago said.
But we-" Lynn Jr was saying but was interrupted.
"Girls I know you all wanna help Pop-Pop but Mrs. Santiago is right Pop-Pop just needs some rest and he'll be in tip-top shape in no time." Lynn Sr told his kids.
"Your father's right girls now why don't we go normal routine and back a 'Get well' card for Pop-Pop," Rita told her girls.
"Yeah, that sounds nice...today is my golf tournament," Lori agreed, the family leaves but Lincoln stays. "Come on Lincoln, it's time to go."
"No...I want to stay here." Lincoln said looking at his grandfather.
"But Lincoln I need the support-" Lori replied with a glare.
"I say...NO!" Lincoln shouts gripping his hands, and red sparks of energy appear.
Lynn Sr begins to glare. "Lin-"
Mrs. Santiago stops and smiled. "Of course, you can stay Lincoln...you can stay until visiting hours are over."
The Loud family begins to leave the place, as Mrs, Santiago look at them, Lincoln. "It's gonna be okay Lincoln."
Lincoln only replied with a face down. "I hoped."
It's nighttime, and Lincoln only one in his grandfather's hospital bedroom, until sees the clock nine. "See you tomorrow Pop-Pop."
Lincoln transform into Linkage and flew out of the window, he was about to fly home until sees an explosion. "What now?"
Linkage flew down and sees the mayor's household is on fire, he flew down, going inside a broken window, seeing everything on fire. "Is everyone in here?"
"AHHHHH!" The scream comes from a woman.
"Where are you?" Linkage asked to look around.
Linkage goes out of the room, and into the hallway, he turned to see a person covered in a blanket he goes to the person. "Come on sir, let's-" He uncovers the blanket, which happens to be Metaxist.
"AHHHHHH!" Metaxist screams as he kicks Linkage who sends him through a wall, and breaks through it. Taking off the blanket while speaking. "Always go out being a hero, such a shame of you wasting energy helping those beneath you."
Linkage gets up and glares. "Shame you don't have no one helping you."
Metaxtist glares deeply as charges grabbed Linkage by the throat, lifting him in the air. "I make sure everyone will turn against you."
Metaxist punches Linkage in the face, making the boy knock out.
Linkage begins to open his eyes, seeing the mayor's household is burnt down, and looks down and horrified at the old Thereby...dead right in front of him. 'What the-?'
*SNAP...SNAP...SNAP*
Linkage sees loads of pictures and people surrounding him, everyone is loads of emotions on their faces but right now...in fear.
"No...No...you got it all wronged." Linkage said tried to find a reason.
Loads of policemen surrounded him. "Linkage puts your hands in the air!"
Linkage closes his eyes and only takes flight at top speed, leaving the dust behind.
Linkage landed on the ground in front of his home, he looks tired, and walked to the door, he opened seeing his parents and sisters in there spotting him gives him a deep glare.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN YOUNG MAN?!" Rita screams as stands up.
Lincoln sees thirty minutes from ten. "Oh, sorry I kinda walked home."
"Walk, you should call one of us! We should pick you up!" Lynn Sr shouts angrily
"Sorry, I just need-" Lincoln said seeing his mom glare.
"Excuses, it always excuses with you, you keep avoiding your own family just to keep alone time for yourself," Rita said
Lincoln glared, he places his hands in his pockets, rolled his eyes, and spoke. "I wonder who I got that from?"
Everyone gasps, thus making Rita frown, it's true...Rita was a little tired of having family problems so her best option is breaking the law and earning herself community service. Going totally overboard, Linkage stops her and warns her if she keeps doing what been doing...she going to jail.
"It seems this boy has been spoiled, you gonna let him talk to you like that...he might grow up to be a delinquent." Spoke in a demonic voice, thus Rita's eyes glow red.
"Way harsh dude." Luna winched after what Lincoln said.
"You listen here boy-" Lynn Sr said stopping by Rita's hand. "Honey?"
"Your attitude has gone long enough...your grounded!" Rita shouts making Lincoln look at her. "No Tv, no comics, video games, action figures, and no going out...the only place you go out is school!"
"You can't do this to me...tomorrow is my big day!" Lincoln shouts angrily
"It is a month if don't go to your room!" Rita shouts pointing upstairs.
Lincoln glared, he simply walked past her, his father cross his arms, and his sister half of sorry for him and others just thought he deserve it as Lynn spoke with a smirk.
"Finally you learn your lesson," Lynn said looking into the air.
That, only makes Lincoln lift his fist in the air and hit Lynn Jr, right in her nose, causing her to hit the wall. The sisters check on her, while Rita now angry shouts at Lincoln who walked to the right. "That's two months!"
Lincoln slammed his door, and landed on the bed, he screamed under the pillow, until look at the ceiling. "Please let them remember."
In a dark place. John simply smiled at the progress. "All according to plan."
"So what next?" Spoke Grass Viper
The main leader looks at his gang. "Send them my present."
