Chapter 23: Aftermath

Scan seems to yawn as he walked to the kitchen, to get his morning coffee. He sees the coffee maker is full of coffee, the dishes are clean, and breakfast is made; eggs and bacon.

"Lincoln." Scan said with a smile.

It has been a week since the 'Leave' thing, Scan let Lincoln be in his house now then. Lincoln seems to help Scan by cleaning and cooking, and even doing errands. Everyday Lincoln does Gar's training lesson every day to get his mind off things.

Scan goes outside to see Lincoln put on his running shoes. "I see you about to go on a jog."

"Yeah, helps by doing some cardio." Lincoln states as he stands up. "Well, I'll see you later, Scan!"

"Take care." Scan replied as he sees Lincoln runoff. 'I hope he gets better.'

Sarah is in the mall, wearing a blue collar shirt, a black skirt reaching her thighs, and white shoes. She listens to music in a shop.

Sarah nodded her head as followed the beat and sang. "All the women, who are independent ...Throw your hands up at me-"

"Sarah?"

Sarah turns to see Luna, who looks just as shocked in meeting her here.

"Luna..." Sarah said while she turns her head down, looking at the CDs, "Didn't know you would be here." She said bitterly.

"I...I came here to get things cool off since, you know. I didn't know you can sing?" Luna questions admiring the voice.

"Well I do it sometimes okay, is best I will be leaving now," Sarah replied as begin to walk out of the place.

Luna catches up to Sarah. "I know I did was wrong, I'm truly sorry about what I did to Lil bro. How's is he anyway-"

"He doing fine, he's healing now after you and the girls have done it!" Sarah said angrily as turn to Luna with a glare. "How could you do that to him?!"

"I didn't think straight, I was just so full of mad at his attitude." Luna answer

Sarah only hissed. "THAT'S IT?! Luna, of all time, gets angry but simple things like that aren't right just leave him."

"Okay." Luna told her, "If I can see him, I'll-"

"He doesn't want to see you or any of your sisters right now." Sarah told her "Your actions have consequences, you can't just apologize unless you've truly learned how much damage you've put him through. And it's not just that stunt you'll do,"

"W-what do you mean?" Luna asked her.

"You girls have been pushing your brother to his breaking point. The time you're father almost grounded him for clogging the toilet. The Sister Fight Procolo, making Lincoln feel like nothing. All of you have fun while he works all the time. Lori makes the decision about Lincoln's love life, and which way to control her. Never get a little privacy in the house due of you needed his help! All of you don't know control your actions, making feel not be a sibling!" Sarah shouts in full anger.

Luna felt the guilt running down her. She never realized how much she treated Lincoln like he was not one of the siblings. She feels like crying right now.

"I...I could've realized..." Luna said tearing up.

"Just think about how your actions can affect him. You and your sisters need to think really hard about it." Sarah said as she turns around to walk out, leaving Luna alone.

Unknown to Sarah, she is being watched by an invisible force eyeing her.

Lincoln keeps jogging all way to the park, surprised he is not tired yet. The boy's mind really lets him focus on his workout until a voice snaps out of his conversation.

"Lincoln? Is that really you?"

Lincoln turns around to see someone calling for him, it's a girl. This girl happens to be Lori's age, she has white skin, long blond hair with a purple headband, and blue eyes. Wearing a purple collar shirt, black skirt, brown shoes with black socks. "Oh hey, Carol."

"The rumors are true, you are exercising and getting muscular," Carol said as she goes to him.

"Uh yeah, thanks," Lincoln replied to the older teen.

Soon the two sit on a bench as they talk, Carol was worried about Lincoln after hearing about his situation with the family.

"So you know what happened?" Lincoln asked her.

"Everyone in town knows, it was on the news." Carol states with a sigh "I never knew Lori and them would do something like that."

"My family is a little crazy if you lived with them," Lincoln said as slumped on the bench.

"Well, glad you find something to live, can't believe you lived in the Atoms," Carol replied

"Well they help me sometimes, and I help them. So they bring me in for comfort." Lincoln said

Carol smiled at him. "Well I hoped you get healed up well, if you need help...you have friends even me to help."

Lincoln smiled at him. "Thanks, Carol-"

"Carol Pingrey!"

Both of them see a white blur coming to them as grabbed Carol.

Lincoln sees Carol screaming as goes to the sky. "Carol!"

Before Lincoln was about to transform, the area begins to be explosive in light. "Argh...stunt grenade."

The light calms down as Lincoln sees Carol from nowhere. "Carol."

Gar walked to the pizza place and talked to someone who was interested in him as so does he. He little angry at her for what she did but she to Lincoln, but she is too innocent to stay angry with.

'Maybe Lincoln is right, she is so pure...' Gar thought until he hears her voice.

"H-Hi Gar."

Gar seems he is at a pizza place as sees Leni dressed fully in a brown coat, a blue scarf covering her hair, and a black shade on as he spoke. "Hi Leni, guess you being covered."

"Yes, I can't get out without this since people keep glaring at me," Leni said with a frown face.

'Well, it's to be expected after what your family did.' Gar thought as he stays chill, "So Len-"

"Please, don't say my real name out here. Just call me Lenny. It's my disguise name." Leni told him.

'She must mean Lenny with 'ny' instead of 'i'; guess she's not as bright. Though still fine.' Gar thought as he cross his arms, she and Gar sat down. "Okay, 'Lenny', what do you want to talk to me about?"

Leni looks down at the table as she answered "I've been thinking really hard about what you said that day. I shouldn't have gone along with anyone for messing with Lincoln. At first, I thought it was fine, but then I realized...we were selfish and weren't fair to him. You were right, I've been nothing but a follower. What should I do, Gar?"

"Well, Lenny, for one thing, all I can tell you is this. You don't need your folks to tell you everything to do or let them walk all over you. You're 16 and you need to think about your own choices rather than go along with someone else's plan. It's something your conscience has been telling you about if you feel this guilty." Garfield told her.

"My conscience?" Leni asks him.

"You know that fairy tale with the puppet and his cricket? The cricket is the puppet boy's conscience, which gives him the advice to do and don't do in order to lead him a better life. You need to listen to your conscience in order to know if something seems wrong, you have to speak about it. Like say, if you have the last bagel, but someone else needs that bagel more than you would, what would your conscience tell you?" Garfield asks her.

"Easy, I let the bagel to the person. Sure I wanted it but I give it to the person 'cause it's the right thing to do." Leni said

"Exactly, Lenny, you are a good girl and have a good heart. You can have a good decision in life, don't let anyone tell you what is wrong and right. It's your choice to pick your destiny." Gar replied

"Pick my own destiny, my own decisions," Leni said to herself until she looks at Garfield. "Thank you, Gar for advancing...I think I needed to be punished...Gar maybe can help me."

Gar confused. "Wha?"

"Gar, what I've done to Lincoln is unforgivable. He has the right to hate me and you have the right to not like me for what I've done. I've let my own sisters dictate my choices, and I'm practically an adult. So please..." Leni looks teary-eyed as she lowers her head, rises up, and looks all teary "Please punish me for my sins!"

"Okay, okay, not in a public place. Just calm down." Garfield told her trying to calm her crying. 'What am I gonna do?' he thought as he looks at Leni's legs and feet with her sandals, thinking up an idea.

"Carol's been kidnapped by some...ghost?" Sarah asked, having to meet up with Lincoln who tells her about Carol's kidnapping.

"Yeah, I don't know why but all I know is that Sarah is in trouble." Lincoln said, "He kind of resembles some kind of jester with a skeletal face."

"Wait, you mean jester with a skeletal face?" Sarah asked as Lincoln nodded, she begin to type on her phone. "Just a few seconds...and find the place-"

"Sarah Atoms!"

A flashlight appear as both covered their eyes, as a scream appear. The light dies down as Lincoln sees no Sarah means it's the same jester who kidnapped Carol.

"No, what I suppose to do?!" Lincoln questioned himself after seeing the mail picture. "Heh."

Lincoln grabbed the picture and see a picture, of a factory that looks abandon with a sign says 'Funny Maker'. "That factory is shut down a long time ago, I hope that is the place that keeps them."

Lincoln runs to somewhere in hiding and transforms into Linkage as took flight.

At the forest, complex dome house, Gar has taken the disguised Leni in. Leni is surprised at how decorative the place is, almost like he got style.

"Wow, nice place you have here," Leni comments as she closes the door.

"Thanks." Gar replied, "You sure you want to do this? Wouldn't your family be worried?"

"Actually, I'm not on speaking terms with them," Leni told him, surprising Garfield. "I think it's time I step away from my family for a while. That and I sorta snuck in with the outfit I'm wearing that hopefully, you'll like," she said as she takes off her disguise coat.

"What are you- whoa!" Gar said in shock, seeing Leni's outfit.

It's a bit revealing, as Leni wears a black leather tube top showing her midriff and cleavage line, she wears a black short skirt, showing off her legs as the skirt goes up to her thighs.

"What do you think?" Leni asks him, striking a pose.

"Wow, you look...good," Gar replied, as his hands were on the pilot mode by grabbing Leni's hips and swinging her over his shoulder, her butt next to his face. 'What did I just do!?'

"Oh!" Leni gasped, feeling Gar picking her up and walking her somewhere, "Where are you taking me, my caveman?"

"You want to be punished, right? Well, you're getting it." He told her while his hands wraps her legs, taking her place on a chair.

"Comfy chair." Leni states as Gar grabs her ankles to take off her sandals, "What are you doing?" she asks.

"OHOHOHOH GAHAHAHAHAR!" Leni laughed popping her head.

"AHAHAHAHAHA OHOHOOHOH!" Leni laughs as she shakes her head, as he feels Gar moving up to her armpits, tickling them and making her chest jiggle.

"Such clear skin, you must have sensitive skin to be this ticklish," Gar comments as he tickles all over until he stops. Leni takes a breather as he tells her, "Gonna give you a break, so in the meantime. There will be more of that and something else." he said.

'Something else?' Leni asks with a blush.

"Argh...my head...".

Sarah seems to be sitting on the chair tied up, even seeing the whole place of clowns' costumes, tools, and joke stuff.

"Oh good, you awake Mrs. Atoms."

Sarah turns to Carol next to her. "Carol, where are we?"

"I don't know ma'am, I was talking to Lincoln and suddenly a ghost jester take me here!" Carol answered

"Ghost jester?" Sarah asked as they hear crackling laughter. "What was that?"

"That will be me, ladies."

Sarah and Carol turn to see the described ghost jester appearing in front of them suddenly. He is glowing white like a ghost, as he has a skull mask with a white jester mask. He is dressed in a jester collar, a black and white checkered clown costume with black claws and shoes.

"Greetings, for I, Moon Specter, has shown himself to your doom!" Moon Specter shouts.

"Why did you kidnap us?!" Carol demands.

'I got a bad feeling about this.' Sarah thought in deadpan.

"I am Moon Spectrum, I kidnapped you Carol Pingrey your family ruined my business by telling me my factory is dangerous, and Sarah Atoms will...uh destroy cause...my love! Fear me!" Moon Specter shouts and makes a scared face.

Both girls look deadpan as they look behind them, and smiled, noticed by Moon Specter. "What are you two at?"

"That be me."

Moon Specter turns around and sees Linkage crossing his arms and looking deadpan. "Linkage! You dare to come here in Moon Specter's lair?"

"Yeah, a lair of old clown stuff...really scary." Linkage said annoyed.

Moon Specter pull out a light grenade as spoke. "Linkage, you will feel the wrath of Moon-"

Linkage simply blasted the light grenade away making Moon Specter shocked. "Uh oh...that last one." He sees Linkage coming to him, so the jester quickly grabs both girls under his arms while running from Linkage. "You never catch Moon Specter!"

Linkage wore his goggles this time as he saw Moon Specter flies up while turning invisible. 'What that idiot doesn't know is that these goggles can track down heat signatures,' Linkage thought as he saw Sarah and Carol's heat signatures while Specter jumps around from being sited. 'Because of his invisibility, he's an invisible Metax?'

Moon Specter runs around while invisible, as he shouts "Quit squirming, you two!" he told them, as Carol and Sarah's behinds shake around while their legs kick around.

"Let us go now!" Sarah shouts as she feels her skirt lifting up giving her a wedgie.

"This is uncomfortable," Carol said.

"Quiet! Or I'll spank you two!" Moon Specter shouts but they keep struggling.

"How, you're carrying us with both arms." Sarah states.

"I think that later-OW MY BACK!" Moon Specter shouts accidentally dropping the girls. "Uh oh."

The girls screamed until Linkage saved them at full speed, letting them to the entrance. "You girls alright?"

"Yeah,/Thank you Linkage." Sarah/Carol said

Moon Specter goes to them. "Give it back to Sarah and Carol you-"

Linkage hits Moon Specter with a gray big hammer on his head, the invisible Metax falls down on the ground with a dizzy look.

"I calling the police!" Carol shout as pull out her phone.

"You are a really sad villain I face, you a Metax invisibility...but how you fly and make those light grenades?" Linkage's question rubbed his chin.

Sarah fixes her skirt while going to Moon Specter, and pulls out the jester clothes reveal to have metal armor beneath the costume. "Levitate suit, can help control the body weight either light or heavy, he can move ghost if he wanted to."

"And who is this guy?" Linkage asked as he pulls out the mask, though he, Sarah, and Carol gave unrecognizable looks. "Does any of you know who he is?"

"Nope/Nuh-uh." Sarah and Carol said.

"Does anyone care who he is?" Linkage asks in deadpan.

"Nope/Not the slightest." Sarah and Carol both said.

"Then let's just lock this guy up until the police arrive." Linkage said as Moon Specter groaned. "For someone who has a good mind, he's not the brightest villain I've ever faced."

"Ah! Oh, more~!" Leni cries out, as she has her hands behind her back, Gar has Leni under his arm where her butt is in front of him, he is currently spanking her behind.

"You wanted this huh Leni?" Gar question give it another spank.

"Would I be seeing you around?" she asks him hopefully.

"I don't know, I am a busy guy and I have to go back somewhere soon." Garfield states "We'll probably see each other in a month or so."

"Oh that's sad I can see you sooner, I really like to spend time with you Gar," Leni said in sadness.

Garfield hugged her. "Hey, don't worry, I always come back here 'cause I got people to look after...including you."

Leni turns to Garfield in surprise. "You mean-"

Garfield holds her hands. "Yes, I forgive you...If you prove that you wanted a change...follow your conscious, it's the only way Lincoln forgives you."

Leni smiled at him. "Thank you, Gar."

Both teens look at each other and a kiss makes both close their eyes.

Luna was at home, in her bunk thinking about what Sarah said. She was in deep thought and to that point, she conclude...Sarah's right. She and the family's actions toward Lincoln are unforgivable, especially the way they treat him.

"What should we do?" Luna asks herself as she thought up something. 'Maybe what we need is therapy and some help. If the family agrees to this that is.'

After the arrest of Moon Specter, Carol is seen with Sarah holding onto Lincoln who holds Sarah in his arms. He flew down to the park to place them down.

"Thank you for saving us, Linkage," Sarah told him.

"Yeah, what a weird day," Carol replied.

"Welcome to my world, well you girls later." Linkage said as he runs out of place.

"What a nice hero," Carol commented with a smile.

"Yeah," Sarah said as turn in another direction. "Our little friend is here."

"Girls there you are!" Lincoln shout as take a breather. "I'm called Linkage, did the villain do something to you two?"

"Welcome to my world, well you girls later." Linkage said as he runs out of place.

"What a nice hero," Carol commented with a smile.

"Yeah," Sarah said as turn in another direction. "Our little friend is here."

"Girls there you are!" Lincoln shout as take a breather. "I've called Linkage, did that villain do something to you two?"

"We're okay, Lincoln," Sarah told him.

"Yeah, all that guy is just some nobody that Linkage can easily handle," Carol adds.

"That's good, I'm just glad that you two are safe," Lincoln said with a sigh.

"Thanks, Lincoln, but worried about you," Carol replied placing a hand on Lincoln's shoulder.

"What do you mean?" Lincoln question

"It's about Child Service," Carol answered making both Lincoln and Sarah's eyes widen. "Look, I know you have Atoms to good care of you. Your parents may be out, but still...will ask questions about them."

Sarah looks surprised at this, as she turns to Lincoln "Should there be any concern?"

Lincoln looks uncertain, should he be glad that his parents are facing Child Service about what they did? A part of him felt glad but another told him it was not right to feel good about it.

"I...I don't know how to feel about that." Lincoln said uncertainly, as he shakes his head, "But it's their problem, I'm not a Loud anymore."

"Lincoln..." Sarah replied and sees Lincoln stretching his arms.

"I'm sorry Sarah, but what they did is cross the line before this thing happened. I officially do not gonna near them or talked to them, especially living with them. I'm gonna start jogging now, it's to see you Carol...see you girls later." Lincoln said as he begin to jog.

Sarah and Carol look sad for Lincoln, as Carol looks at her "Ms. Atom, what do you think will happen now?"

Sarah sighed as she answered, "I don't know, but Lincoln will need a lot of healing for a long while."

This is it, it seems our hero won't forgive his family yet, it takes more than an apology earns back love and trust...
