Chapter 3: Always Better with Friends!
The Trio arrive at the Korea's Hunter HQ Residential Area
Ji-hu: Holy crap this place is huge.
Geni: I must agree. This building is quite large even by my home's standards.
Eui: Hehe yup! We got most of Korea's important Hunters living right here at HQ. Plus the office workers. They need us to be on standby in case anything huge goes down in Korea. Although nothing big has happened in a long time.
Ji-hu: There's so many hallways. Which way do we go?
Eui: That's why I'm here silly. I'm your guide, just follow me.
The group moves toward Hallway 4 passing by many doors until they make it to door 554
Eui: This will be your room Ji-hu. Number 555 will be yours Geni. And I will be in room 556 if you need me. Ji-hu you are free to roam the facility, but Geni I have to ask you to either be with me or Ji-hu if you leave your room. I hope you understand. Man with you guys here things will finally get a little exciting!
Ji-hu: Um Eui you do know why Geni is on Earth right?
Eui: Mhm. Of course the Abyss right? I wasn't briefed on the more complicated details, but basically she's here to find great warriors in hiding and to help defeat whatever the abyss has planned. And you're one of the "great warriors", right?
Ji-hu: Um yeah. I'm just a little surprised about how you're so nonchalant about this whole situation.
Eui: Eh I tend to get that a lot. I've been wanting a challenge recently so this'll be good practice. Although a lot of my co-workers are a bit on the stricter side.
Ji-hu: Deadpan. Fair enough I guess. Oh I was told I would get to see my friends soon. Is it alright if I go to the lobby and wait for them?
Eui: Hey kiddo like I said you're free to roam the facility. But is Geni ok with not having you near her? Isn't there like a whole prophecy thing?
Ji-hu: Oh right. Uh Geni is it alright if I leave to go see my friends?
Geni: Of course. I do not have any control over you young one. I shall be resting in my quarters. Whenever you want to start your training I will be available. Do not hesitate to knock.
Ji-hu: Thanks Geni! See you guys later!
Ji-hu runs off to the lobby while Eui and Geni enter their respective rooms
Ji-hu: Wait, I haven't been checking my phone at all. I really hope they aren't mad that I haven't responded...
Ji-hu: Oh that's a lot of missed calls ... and texts. It looks like they're already here. Man Commander Cho wasn't kidding about getting them here fast.
Ji-hu gets to the lobby and finds an angry Meihua and concerned Romy
Atlas just looks annoyed
Meihua: Ji-hu why haven't you been answering our messages. I was confused when I came home. Don't you think you could've added a little more to your message? You have a lot of nerve bringing all of us here because of some confidential information.
Romy: I'm just glad to see you aren't hurt Ji-hu. When Atlas and I were told to come to Korea's Hunter HQ because you were asking for us I started to get worried.
Atlas: Man Romy would not stop whining about how worried she was the whole ride here.
Romy: HEY! I was just anxious. Anyway, why are we all here in the first place?
Ji-hu: Uhhh Hey guys I know it must've been really confusing, but now that you're all here I can explain to you what's been going on. Before I do explain I have to ask that you keep everything I tell you confidential. Also we need to go meet a certain someone.
Meihua: This better not be one of your jokes Ji-hu. But yes, I promise to keep things locked up.
Romy: Got it. No telling.
Atlas: You know me man. Most trustworthy guy on Earth.
All three of them give him a funny look
Atlas: Alright alright I'll keep my mouth shut. There happy?
Ji-hu: Alright follow me guys.
The group head towards the residential building
Meihua: I didn't realize how large this part of the HQ was.
Romy: I feel like large is an understatement.
Atlas: Eh I've seen bigger.
They finally make it to room 555
Ji-hu: So before I open this door and show you who is inside. I need to ask that you do not freak out and attack her. She is very vital to everything that is going on right now.
Meihua: Of course, why would we attack anyone?
Romy: Yeah we wouldn't do that!
Atlas: I'm sure whatever's inside can't be that shocking.
Ji-hu knocks on the door then opens it to reveal Geni sitting on the bed
Atlas: I stand corrected.
Meihua: Ji-hu, is that an Abyssal Disaster?
Romy: Uh ok I did not expect that.
Geni: Why hello there. I'm sure you are all Ji-hu's friends?
Meihua: It talks...
Romy: It knows your name?
Atlas: Man this is getting weird way too fast.
Ji-hu: Guys, have a little respect. Where are your manners? Anyway Geni, this is Meihua, Romy, and Atlas. The few that I chose to trust with your information and this operation. Guys meet Geni. She's from outer space.
Meihua: Ok. You have a lot of explaining to do.
Romy: OUTERSPACE? Ji-hu tell me you're joking!
Atlas: I'm out. This is stupid man. I was playing video games when you made me come here.
Ji-hu: Ok first of all Atlas, I wouldn't have forced you three to come here just for a frickin prank. Second, Yes Romy she is from outer space. And third, yeah there's a lot to unpack here. Geni I hope it's not too much to ask, but can you inform my friends of what's going on. I need to bring Eui in here.
Geni: Of course. That would be my pleasure.
Romy: Wait Eui Raenem? Rank #19? The Cryokinetic Ice queen?
Eui: My my I didn't know I was considered an "ice queen", gotta say I thought I came off as pretty chill.
Collective scream from the group except Geni
Eui: Woah there. Just me guys.
Romy: I don't think I can get anymore surprised today.
Meihua: This is certainly interesting. I heard a lot about you from Commander Cho.
Atlas: Man so if you're here everything going on is really for real?
Eui: I can confirm Ji-hu did not lie. I am Geni's "bodyguard" and you are all here because he decided to trust you with very vital information. Once Geni is done explaining I want you all to come to the training facilities.
Meihua: Wait, why are we going to the facilities? Not that I mind, but isn't the equipment usually reserved for top rankers?
Romy: Ooooo. Do we get to use the training room here?
Atlas: Ugh we better not be training there.
Eui: All in due time youngsters. And Geni? Try not to blow up their minds too much. I need them to be able to handle the training facilities.
Geni: I will try Eui.
Eui: Alright then. See you guys in a few.
Romy: Ok seriously what in the Sacred Sanctions is going on right now. Who are you Ms. Geni?
Meihua: I would like to know as well. This is all very interesting and a little surprising.
Romy: I feel like "a little" is an understatement even for you Mei.
Atlas: Alright let our space fairing guest speak their mind. I'd like to move on you know.
Geni: Very well. This might take a while so I suggest you sit down.
After going through everything that has occurred and the prophecy foretold all 3 of them have very mixed reactions
Romy: Ok. I think I'm even more surprised than before.
Atlas: Man I feel a huge migraine coming.
Meihua: That was a lot of information. But nonetheless, this is really good Ji-hu, I'm guessing this means you'll get to improve your Dimensional abilities now. Softly smiles
Ji-hu: Yeah that's basically the gist of it. Ms. Geni here will be teaching me how to use my Dimensional Art better. Hopefully I will live up to the expectations. But as for you three. I brought you guys here because I trust you all. And... It would be nice to have my friends around for the ride.
Meihua: I will do anything to support you Ji-hu you know that already. And I would've eventually found out anyway. Since we're staying here we might as well get some training in. I could use some state of the art practice.
Romy: This is amazing we get to stay here and use the facilities? This'll be different huh big bro? Wait, I'll have to tell Ms. Yuxuan about this. Is that ok Ji-hu?
Ji-hu: Ms. Yuxuan probably already knows. Most of the Top rankers have been given information on Geni and the prophecy.
Atlas: Honestly. This could actually be good. I could have some fun here. As long as they let me bring my pc.
Romy gives him the stink eye
Atlas: And train a little too. Would be a waste not to haha. Nervous laughter
Ji-hu: Alright guys. Now that we got all that out of the way let's head to the training facility.
As Ji-hu walks out the door Geni coughs
Geni: I do believe you'll be needing this Ji-hu, as Ms. Eui has been our guide since arriving here.
The group turn to see Geni holding a digital tablet
Geni: This is a map that Ms. Eui gave to me. I'm sure you'll make more use of it right now.
Ji-hu: Oh right I kinda don't know where the training room is.
Romy: No worries Ms. Geni I know where the training room is. I've been here with Ms. Yuxuan before.
Ji-hu: Oh sweet. Lead the way Romy!
Atlas: Man do I really have to go. Isn't this training mainly going to be for you Ji-hu?
Geni: Actually in the prophecy 3 of the warriors mentioned fit all your descriptions.
Collective what!? from the group
Ji-hu: Whaaaaa? You didn't mention this to me before.
Meihua: Excuse me Miss. I can understand Atlas, Romy, and even Ji-hu being part of the great warriors, but why me? My Sacred Art is Divine Intervention. It is extremely common and logically speaking I can't be of great help to end the Abyss.
Romy: I'm one of the great warriors in the prophecy? I can't say I'm unhappy, but I can't even use my abilities properly. I suck at both of them.
Atlas: You've got to be kidding me. I gotta train now to prevent the end of the world? I take it back, this sucks.
Geni: Yes. I didn't mention this before because I didn't know what your friends would be like. But it seems once again the prophecy is proven correct. You all fit the descriptions of each of your depictions in the prophets story.
Points at Meihua
Geni: A destructive yet soft hearted girl that has a cold demeanor with the force to abolish the strongest of the Abyss.
Meihua: ... No comment.
Points at Romy
Geni: A young lady with a heart of gold too worried about their inability to improve thus undervaluing their efforts.
Romy: Um, I don't really think I have a heart of gold and I really am sort of bad at using my sacred arts. It's a little shameful to be honest.
Points at Atlas
Geni: Lastly, a lazy sloth with the potential to reach great strengths and one who would do anything to protect their family.
Atlas: Che. I hate prophecies.
Ji-hu: Wait, does Eui know about this already? Is that why she asked for all of us to come to the training facility?
Geni: Actually she does not. I'm sure this is what you would call a twist of fate. Or destiny if you will.
Atlas: Ughhhh. Can I at least bring my video games with me?
Romy: Brother could you please stop thinking about video games for 2 whole minutes?
Atlas: Ughhhh. Now I gotta deal with my sister's nagging too.
Sibling argument ensues
Meihua: Thank you for your information Ms. Geni. I don't know if I can hold true to your prophets' depictions of me, but I will try.
Geni: My it seems you are a splitting image of Ji-hu.
Ji-hu: HA!
Meihua: Sigh. Anyway I hope to see you later. I myself have a few questions to ask.
Geni: My door will always be open, just knock. I will see you four later. And Ji-hu, remember to ask me for help once you are ready.
Ji-hu: Yes thank you Geni, I will.
Ji-hu: Come on Atlas, let's go already.
Meihua: Romy leave your brother alone, let's leave Geni so that she can rest.
Atlas: Ugh your lucky Ji-hu always saves your ass.
Romy: Mehhh. Tongue sticking out
