Harry was having a hard time perfecting the portkey enchantments, they were too slow to pick up on life threatening danger and for them to be as small as he needed he couldn't add the complex set of runes needed to fix the problem, one possibility was to alter the flow of time around the portkey slightly, give the already implemented runes more time to work. After the requested forms had arrived Harry spent several hours filling them out, for what he was requesting from Gringotts they had very stringent rules for, even as a head of department he could literally lose his head over this, but it was worth the risk.
The door chimed as he tied the bundle of parchments up and placed his thumb on the seal which took a drop of blood from him,
"Come in," Harry said as he shrunk the bundle and put it in a pocket,
"Hi Harry," Clark walked in,
"Hey Clark, problem?" he asked,
"Well no, but, um, well my mom has asked me to invite you for a family dinner, as a thankyou for making it possible she could have grandkids," he explained embarrassed,
Harry smiled, "I'd be delighted, i've wanted to meet your parents,"
looking surprised, "you have? why?"
"Well, I would like to offer them one of the benefits of the League now having magical medical help available, while we cannot offer this to the public as demand would easily outstrip supply, family of league members should be manageable, after all the average life expectancy of a witch or wizard is about 140 to 150 years, and that is due to our healers and potions, many of the problems old age presents we can cure, and i'd like to offer that to your parents first."
Jaw on the floor Superman asked, "Really? 140 years?"
Harry smiled at the hope on Clark's face, he knew that the one thing even Superman couldn't stop was old age, but magic could hold it back a bit.
Johnathan and Martha Kent were good, honest, and down to earth people, which was a little odd considering their son was an alien, but that was what Clark had needed and as good parents do, they provided.
Mrs Kent waited at the front door for her guests, Lois and Clark were bringing the Doctor, or was it Healer who had helped them and she wanted to express how grateful she was, Clark had never been happier (or more worn out) than he was at the moment.
Lois walked into Clark's apartment and smiled at him, she then noticed the young man he was talking to,
"Ah Lois, I'd like you to meet my new personal Healer, Harry Potter, also known as the hero Healer," Clark began only for Lois to walk past and plant a forceful kiss right on Harry who just stood there wide eyed, "LOIS!"
Leaving the practically comatose Harry there swaying on his feet she smiled at Clark, "Come on Smallville, it's because of him a three year dry spell ended with a monsoon,"
Clark looked at the vacant Harry, "I think you sucked out his soul,"
After arriving at the Kent farm Clark went to help his father finish the chores much to Harry's alarm, he was very intimidated by Lois who smiled and led the way to the main house.
Martha lit up as Lois approached with a young man with messy black hair and green eyes, he had worn simple jeans boots and a shirt perfect for a farm, he also had a look that she recognised and looked at Lois,
"what did you do?" she asked in a motherly tone,
smiling widely Lois answered, "I might have give him a little kiss to show my appreciation,"
Martha shook her head, "I think he might have prefered chocolate,"
Harry shook off his distraction and smiled, "H-Hello Mrs Kent it's nice to meet you,"
shaking his hand "I'm glad to have you here Dr. Potter, once my husband ad son have-" whoosh, Clark and Johnathan appear in a blur, "ok then let's have dinner, come on all of you inside, John, Clark, take off your boots!"
As it turned out Martha Kent was a phenomenal cook, she turned a normal roast beef dinner into something Harry was certain was a type of magic, with plenty of food came conversation, Harry asked about the first times Clark had used his powers, but oddly the only story they could remember was the first.
They has custody of Clark for about a year and he was about three to four years old, John was showing him around the farm and explaining what the various equipment was for, he then started to do a simple repair on the tractor's underside, tightening a bolt that had worked loose, as he worked the jack he had used to lift the vehicle broke and bent, for a terrifying moment Johnathan Kent saw the 7 ton vehicle fall towards him before it stopped and he felt a small hand gently grab his leg and pull him out, he turned and was greeted to the sight of this thin little boy holding up his tractor with one hand.
Then the conversation became strange as they couldn't seem to remember clearly how Clarks other abilities had manifested, even Clark repeated the phrase 'It was just like that one day', Harry caught Lois looking like she was about to say something and he spoke up,
"lois? how did you and Clark meet?" she glanced at his and saw the subtle warning on his face,
"Well, I met Clark in the offices of the Daily Planet, but I met superman in mid air falling to my doom,"
She went on to explain about a breaking story, a helicopter, and a cable breaking loose.
After the main course was eaten and before Dessert Lois pulled Harry aside and was about to talk before he held up a hand, Harry murmured a word and then explained,
"I just made it so no one can hear us, not even Clark, I take it you noticed what i did?"
Her eyebrows rose slightly, "If you mean how it is beyond strange that they cannot remember him using his powers for the first time except his strength, then yes I noticed," she stared at him waiting for an explanation,
Harry sighed, "Have you also noticed the photos?, how it looks like someone is missing from a few?" Lois Glanced around and spotted a few,
"Poor photography worries you? or?"
Harry took a breath, "My people know a magic that can erase memories permanently, but only a few know it, the more well known spell that most mistakenly think does this is Obliviate, it only appears to remove memories, what it actually does is seal them and any physical reference, so that the memory can be recovered later," Harry began, before pausing to organise his thoughts,
"It was made as a medical tool to help trauma victims, the trauma would be sealed away while they went about their lives, and unsealed when they would speak to a mind healer, that way they could carry on living and getting treated without having to suffer constantly,"
"So you can help Clark and his parents?"
"Eventually, if this had been done by a licenced healer there would be extensive notes on what has been locked away, the removal would be neat and orderly and could be reversed without knowing what was removed, but this was not done by a healer."
Lois looked troubled, "That makes it harder?"
"The mind is a highly complex and resilient thing, it is also at the same time simple and fragile. A Healer would have neatly and carefully removed only what was necessary doing only a small amount of damage, but a layperson using this spell... basically took an icepick to a mirror, they removed one specific event, person, or place causing the mirror to crack like a spiderweb, if I try to undo it chances are the mirror will shatter, I need to find out what was removed and restore that specific part, which will allow the mind to reorder itself, I cannot brute force this,"
Lois looked thoughtful, "Which means I have to keep this secret, if I let on something is wrong..."
"I have asked the Question to look into this and a few other things, if you find something let him know," he smirked at her expression, "you're a reporter, I would be shocked if you didn't look into this,"
Lois laughed, "Guilty,"
Over a heavenly Apple Pie with Ice cream made with ingredients produced on the Kent farm Harry discussed the benefits of him becoming their primary Healer or family Doctor, after what he had done for Clark they were more than happy to accept.
Harry took the Kents into another room and put up privacy charms, Mrs Kent went first and was quite healthy for a woman her age, she had a little muscle weakness and some bone degeneration but nothing else.
"Well Mrs Kent, I have to say i'm impressed, you are in excellent shape for a lady of your age," Harry said after telling her what he had found, he then handed her a few pills, "these should have you right as rain in no time,"
"Just a few pills?, how long will I have to take them for?" Martha asked,
"How long? um it's just those, you don't need anything else, just a check up in six months," Harry explained.
However Mr kent was another story, Harry kept his expression neutral and kept Johnathan calm as he had him lie down and gave him some pills to take care of the minor problems,
"Ok Johnathan, i'm sorry but I need you to drink a potion, unlike the pills they don't taste great... who am I kidding they taste like the bottom of a shoe, but this one cannot be given in pill form," and Harry handed him a disgusting looking green potion in a jar which had brown and yellow bits floating in it.
Martha was a little anxious waiting for her husband, he emerged and looked very green, he rushed past her and opened the liquor cabinet grabbed an open bottle of bourbon, headed to the sink and began to wash his mouth out with it before downing several mouthfuls,
"Jonathan Nathaniel Kent what do you think you're doing?" Martha asked scandalised,
Harry interrupted, "My fault Mrs Kent, I think your husband deserves a drink, he just drank an entire musculature restoration potion, and then I explained to him why,"
"John? what.."
John pulled her into a hug, "He saved my life love, I was in the early stages of a Heart Attack, if we hadn't invited him over..."
she paled "are you ok? do you need treatment?" she turned to Harry, "Can you help him? I don't want to lose him!" as she started to become hysterical Harry cast a cheering charm on her,
"Breath Martha, he's ok I fixed it, the potion was the only thing he needed and his heart is now completely healthy," he gently pushed her into the embrace of her husband before walking to Clark,
Clark was white as a ghost, "I I heard his heartbeat wasn't right but I never thought-"
Harry cut him off "And so you shouldn't, you are not a doctor, a nurse, a healer, or a god, even with the incredible things you can do, you do have limits, and that is what the rest of us are for," he handed him a calming draught, "here take this it'll settle your nerves,"
Martha and John hugged for a while, taking comfort in wake of the near miss, and noticing how much better they now felt, the little aches and pains that come with age had vanished and they felt much younger than they had in years, their introspection was interrupted when,
"Urgh! that is disgusting!" followed by Harry laughing, which they began to join in on.
