May 21st, 1821...Arendelle Castle...Evening

~Iduna's POV~

I stood in front of the fireplace, anxiously wringing my hands together as I waited for Agnarr to join me in our room. Today was his birthday, and what better gift to receive on such a special day than finding out that he was going to be a father for the first time.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, he came in, took me in his arms, spun me around and dipped me, placing a gentle kiss on my lips before bringing me back upright. I wrapped my arms around his neck and, gazing up into his mesmerizing green eyes, returned the kiss and smiled, a small laugh escaping my lips.

"Well, someone's in a good mood."

"And why shouldn't I be," he asked "when I get to celebrate another birthday with the woman I love more than life itself? Nothing could mean more to me than this, just the two us, right here, right now."

I couldn't help but smile as he spoke. This was it. I had to tell him. I just couldn't keep it to myself any longer. "Darling, how would you feel if, before this year was over, it wasn't just the two of us anymore?"

In that instant, I saw the biggest smile spread across his face, with what could only be described as tears of joys rolling down his cheeks.

"Iduna, are you...really? We're really having a baby?"

I nodded, unshed tears now welling up in my own eyes. "I really am. We really are. In 7 short months, we'll be holding our sweet little prince or princess in our arms." By now, I too had started visibly crying, as I took one of his hands in mine, and placed it on my belly. "Happy Birthday... Papa."

He smiled, cupping my face in his warm, strong hands; hands that would one day very soon be cradling our new son or daughter, our kingdom's new little prince or princess. I smiled back, both of us still blinking back tears, as he pulled me in for a kiss. As our lips parted, we leaned in, foreheads touching.

"I love you, my dearest Agnarr."

"And I you, my darling Iduna."

As we cuddled up in bed together later that night, he wrapped one of his arms tightly around my waist, laying a protective hand on my belly, on our child. I smiled, beginning to realize just how loved this little baby already was. We kissed each other once more before turning out the lights, and as sleep slowly overtook us, we began to dream of the new little prince or princess we would soon be welcoming into this world, into this kingdom, and into our hearts.

~Agnarr's POV~

I could tell Iduna had something to say as soon as I walked in the room, and that whatever it was, she was anxious to tell me.

"Darling, how would you feel if, before this year was over, it wasn't just the two of us anymore?"

There it was, out in the open, and I reacted to the news like I'm sure any expectant father would. A huge smile spread across my face, and tears of pure joy began streaming down my face. I couldn't believe this was actually happening; that I was going to be a father! I looked into Iduna's piercing blue eyes, and then, finally, I spoke.

"Iduna, are you...really? We're really have a baby?"

As she spoke, I could tell she was trying to fight off the tears threatening to fall.

"I really am...we really are. In 7 short months, we'll be holding our sweet little prince or princess in our arms."

We were both crying by now, as she took one of my hands in hers, and placed it gently on her belly. "Happy Birthday...Papa."

I couldn't help but smile as she called me that. I reached out, gently cupping her face in my hands; hands that very soon would be cradling our new son or daughter, our kingdom's new prince or princess. Iduna returned my smile, both of us blinking back tears, as I pulled her face close to mine, kissing her passionately. As our lips parted, we leaned in, our foreheads touching, her beautiful blue eyes meeting my green ones, both stained with the happiest of tears.

She spoke up first. "I love you, my dearest Agnarr."

"And I you, my darling Iduna." I replied.

As we cuddled up in bed later that night, our emotions now a little more under control, I wrapped an arm tightly around Iduna's waist, laying a protective hand on her belly, on our child. I wanted this child within her, this child formed out of our great love for one another, to know just how loved he or she already was, and always would be.
