With deliberate and surprisingly thoughtful care, Vader helped him get back to his feet, steadying him when he swayed and keeping a hand firmly around his bicep to prevent him from collapsing again. Or maybe from escaping… the nature of their relationship couldn't have changed that much, Luke thought faintly.
But perhaps that wasn't fair. It wasn't like he was going anywhere anytime soon – not without soaking in some bacta for at least twelve hours first and they both knew it. Vader didn't have a reason to feel paranoid right now. And… even if he should try escape at some point… some small, childish part of him that longed to know his father made Luke uncertain whether or not he even wanted to leave now. It was a thought for later though. He didn't have the energy to think too deeply about anything more than simply stay awake.
Vader waited until most of his nausea had faded and then he released his hold on him and bent down, catching Luke over his shoulder and straightening up with him carefully in place, one arm across the back of his knees to prevent him from falling or moving.
Luke grunted slightly, the position far from being comfortable but still a better option than trying to walk out of this damn place on his own, he conceded faintly. His vision consisted of his father's armourweave cape and the floor swaying back and forth with each step he took. Luke squeezed his eyes shut once again when it became too much to even look at, fighting the desire to pass out entirely.
Or be sick.
Family or not, he didn't think Vader would appreciate him throwing up down his back. And honestly, if that happened, Vader might as well leave him in this hellhole to die because that was an embarrassment Luke would never be able to recover from.
The grip across his knees tightened slightly. "Hold on, Luke." Came a quiet, soothing rumble. It was accompanied by a gentle sense of peace safe stay awake…. "Hold on just a little longer."
Luke nodded his head weakly - pointlessly, because it wasn't as if Vader could see it - and then sent a dull sort of acknowledgement along their bond instead to let his father know he'd been heard.
Just hurry. Luke whispered tiredly and it wasn't his imagination when he felt Vader speed up in response.
A/N Just some good 'ol fashioned hurt/comfort today. :)
Happy Sunday, everyone!
