Episode 17: Drifting

"I brought a chart to illustrate."

"Tell me you didn't."

"Zach please. You were already late."

"I had to take Matt to the office."

"So!" Nina slapped her hand onto the board, "The current count on the Miraculous goes as thusly!"

"Cat Noir and Ladybug have their respected miraculous as does Rena Rogue,Oxdozer, Bunnyx, and Carapace," Nina pointed at her cartoon drawings of the heroes.

"Okay, and how do you know this?" Louis asked confused as he looked sleepily at the board.

"Mom, talks about work stuff when she thinks I'm asleep," Nina explained as she sipped her coffee then tapped the board again, "Anyway, Rena also let slip apparently that a guardian exists that has the monkey, horse, tiger, pig,"

She slapped the board dramatically, "The moth, peacock, dog, bee, sheep, mouse, and rooster are still in the hands of the villians. But we haven't seen any signs of the dragon since its taken. So i ask where is it?"

Zacharie shook his head at this as Louis stared absently at the board and Sophie sat looking out the window looking upset.

"Wait, where's Emma? I asked her to come too," Nina finally noted the absence of the eldest in their group, Zacharie was very annoyed to learn she was 6 months older than him.

Sophie looked upset at Nina, " She's outside with Iris."

"Huh?" The blonde boy asked confused as he looked out the window to see that indeed sitting in the courtyard talking with Iris was Emma.

Sophie looked very upset at the two in the courtyard, "Is Iris trying to get back together?"

Nina and Zach shared a look at the statement and a guilty look starting coming onto Louis's face.

"As far as I know Iris and Emma are still friends," the Couffaine boy explained, " They hang out some."

"Doesn't mean she gets to miss our meeting," Nina grumbled pulling down her chart from the classroom board.

Sophie continued to glare at the two girls through the window as she saw them talking quietly to each other.

Louis looked guilty at his ex-girlfriend then at his sister and her ex-girlfriend as they stood up and left the courtyard.

….

"You know this is your own fault though, Emma," Iris commented as they left the school.

The Agreste girl looked sadly at the ground, "I know. Jake is saying the same thing."

Iris rubbed her back a little as they continued to Emma's home. Her depression was flaring up and honestly the dark ring under her eyes was telling and Iris had talked her into going home early, "I know. I've talked to Jake, Rachel, and Zach. Still Emma, Louis is an ass. Both you and Sophie want to date, you shouldn't let him get in the way."

"He's my little brother," Emma tried to explain, "and he's trying to be better."

"No, Em, seriously you have just as many problems," the red head shot back, "You and Sophie are like Romeo and Juliet, star-crossed lovers."

"I actually prefer Antony and Cleopatra," Emma muttered at the comparison.

"They die either way," Iris rolled her eyes as she guided Emma away from a pole she was going to walk into, "If you don't get it together you're going to end up in some Midsummer's Night shit."

Plagg grumbled in the pocket of Emma's jacket unhear by the girls, "What's with all the Shakespeare references.

….

Iris sighed as she left the Dupain-Cheng's bakery. She figured that Emma should be fine now home. Iris had left her on her bed with her therapy cat and ice cream. Honestly, if she didn't know Emma she would think this was a terrible break up.

The red head turned down an alley debating whether to go home or back to school when she heard a voice, "Iris Bellamy."

She turned and her jaw dropped a little as she saw standing behind her smugly looking at her with bright green eyes Mayuri.

"Iris Bellamy, I sense you have a strong chi. One that can use the dragon miraculous," Mayuri studied her with an interested look as she held up the miraculous, "Come, help us with gathering the miraculous and you may use the dragon miraculous for anything you want."

The girl stared for less than a second before replying, "You're joking. You're the bad guys. I'm not helping you."

Iris turned and was about to run from the villain when she heard the peacock villain asked, "Not even for the wish? The wish you get from combining the ladybug and cat miraculous?"

Iris paused a fleeting thought crossed her mind. The thought of getting Emma to get over Sophie and to love her. But it was fleeting, and stupid. It wouldn't be real and to turn to villainy over something so childish?

Iris turned back to narrow brown eyes at the villain, "Go, try to someone else to fall for this. I'm not."

Mayuri looked annoyed but jumped into and pakoured onto the top of the buildings.

It was only later when she would think back on the event and what she could have done to try to stop Mayuri and maybe take the dragon miraculous give it to the heroes, or several others things did she start to realize that Mayuri green eyes looked very familiar to her.

Author's Note

Okay, so that's happening. Anyway, I'm thinking I might do a sidestory relating to think one where Sophie and Marinette switch bodies. Not sure yet when, but I'm kicking it around in my head.

Anyway review and thanks for reading.

Next Chapter: Sophie is the jealous type apparently and when Shepard and Mourning attack Sophie's school it looks like Cat has to race to the rescue.
