A/N: I'm new to this site so bare with me while I figure this out. Also I didn't realize I put the title as "His posion" when it was supposed to be, "His poison" I fixed it now but still my apologies. Most of this is filler for the plot to actually progress, so next chapter expect an incoming time skip. Anyway enjoy, it might be rushed but I did go over it like ten times without getting burnt out so that must mean something? (It's less words than the first chapter so fuck me.)

Chapter 2

A gym, A secret, and awards.

Yeah, he was fucked.

Completely fucked if it was his father or mother, less fucked if it was Itachi. Please let it be Itachi.

He could deal with his brother, but Fugaku and Mikoto?

He'd much rather die, thanks.

Sasuke turned ever so slightly to come face to face with Itachi's brooding face, one leg on top of the other as he sat on a chair with all the lights turned on as if he caught a thief in the act.

Just to be clear, it wasn't like Sasuke was intentionally trying to sneak in as if he did something bad—he just didn't want to deal with anyone at the moment, his sleep was very much needed right now.

He didn't realize before but the walk back was surprisingly exhausting and he wondered just how far the walking distance from that place had been.

Still, out of the family members he didn't want to encounter, Itachi was the lesser of two evils so he'd take it.

"So?" He took that back instantly when Itachi urged him to answer.

His brother definitely was not the lesser of two evils—he was fucking unbearable.

No, Sasuke didn't hate him but he also didn't exactly shake in excitement whenever he was around.

Back when they were kids they were close despite their age gap and Itachi always annoyed the crap out of him by flicking his head, they'd play video games for hours on end or binge watch an animated cartoon, they were practically inseparable.

That however changed when Itachi grew up and joined the company, he didn't have enough time to hang around and spend time with him anymore and slowly but progressively work began being Itachi's main focus.

He didn't have time for their usual workout sessions, or for video gaming, not for family dinner, not for anything really.

It was always followed up by an apology and a promise to make up for it, but it never happened.

He tried to have sympathy and acknowledge his brother was an adult now and he wouldn't be able to be at his beck and call whenever he wanted to spend quality time, he had priorities.

Then Sasuke grew up, and the wedge between them grew bigger.

A one-sided rivalry also began to brew with time as Fugaku never failed to mention how amazing Itachi was and how much Sasuke lacked in comparison.

In the end, Sasuke stopped caring.

He stopped caring about his father's petty comments whenever he did something wrong and Itachi did something right.

He stopped caring about Itachi making time for him now.

He knew it wasn't Itachi's fault—from a young age he was molded into being perfect for the family business so it all fell into place, despite that he couldn't find it in himself to spend time with Itachi like his younger self so desperately had wanted to.

"What?" Okay, he'll admit, he was being a dick.

Itachi was probably just worried as to why he turned up so late and wanted to make sure everything was okay, but Sasuke just couldn't take his obnoxious mothering right now.

It was obvious Itachi was tired as he sighed and stood up, hand in hair before looking at Sasuke with what he deemed the most insufferable expression ever.

"Just tell me where you were and I'll leave you alone," His eyes were practically pleading with exhaustion and a semblance of hurt, what he felt hurt for? Sasuke had no idea but it didn't stop the pang in his chest watching his brother make that expression.

Okay, maybe he wasn't completely done caring about his brother.

"I was watching a match." He decided to simply sit on the stairs and stop looking like an idiot standing there frozen.

"A match? Of what?" Itachi's interest had been piqued, it wasn't everyday his little brother actually shared whatever he was up to. Yeah, Sasuke wasn't going to get any sleep tonight.

"Boxing." Itachi raised a curious eyebrow at his response and zoned out of nowhere as if that was the most shocking answer ever.

Woah, boxing? Yeah, that was too cool. Sasuke mimicked Itachi's thought process in his head as each minute passed, clearly getting more irritated.

"It was two guys fighting, it was good."

Good was an understatement, but Sasuke just wanted to end whatever this was and pass out on his bed. Itachi was probably waiting for him to add on because of the way he stood in complete silence as if inquiring him to go on but relented once he realized Sasuke wanted to end it at that.

"Do you like it?" Now Sasuke was the one at a loss.

"Boxing, I mean. Do you like it?" Itachi was prying, but he also seemed…interested?

Yeah, what the fuck.

Since when was Itachi interested in Sasuke's hobbies and why did he have such an earnest smile on his dumb face?

This was getting weird.

Sasuke didn't answer and instead looked at him as if he had three heads, clearly confused.

"Tomorrow, 4pm sharp, you and me."

And then Itachi left.

Practically ascended up the stairs with a smile on his face as he left the raven completely and utterly baffled.

He had no idea what Itachi was even implying but he was too tired to think about it now—he finally got an opportunity to go to bed and he wasn't going to let it go to waste, Itachi and his weird 'proposition' could wait until tomorrow.

The morning after he surprisingly got up fairly early, courtesy of his father practically banging on his door and rushing him to get to work.

Mikoto made breakfast for the four of them but Fugaku didn't even let Sasuke or Itachi step foot in the kitchen, ushering them out of the house as soon as Sasuke was dressed despite Mikoto's complaints about them not even grabbing a bite.

Usually, his father would listen and let them eat but he dismissed her with a, "we'll eat on the way."

His mother seemed satisfied with that and let them go.

They didn't eat on the way.

Now, Sasuke sat in his work cubicle completely bored out of his mind and starving. The stack of papers on his desk kept piling up as he spun on the desk chair, clicking away on his pen as his coworkers obviously got annoyed but none of them dared to say anything.

He had thought about going to the lunch room and grabbing something to eat from there, but he knew it would be packed and he'd rather not deal with a crowded environment.

Had it been any other day, Sasuke would have ignored his stomach and gotten directly to work and finished the stack of papers in less than ten minutes, without causing any disturbances such as obnoxiously clicking away on his pen.

But he was really bored. And more importantly, really fucking hungry.

He sighed as he stopped spinning on the chair, it was barely two o'clock and the only thing he could think of was what Itachi proposed last night and what they could possibly eat on the way.

He didn't know when he actually agreed to go but it was clear Itachi didn't leave him with much of a choice.

Still, despite himself Sasuke was genuinely interested to know what Itachi was planning and there was a new place that had opened up recently so they could grab a bite after whatever ridiculous plan he had made.

Sasuke didn't have a big appetite or anything but he hadn't eaten anything since yesterday so it was obviously getting to him, hopefully Itachi was hungry too.

Sasuke started getting to work on the pile as if getting it done would help time move quicker and he audibly heard his coworkers sigh thankfully as he stopped clicking his pen and instead started directing his attention to his work.

As the stack minimized, time gradually passed and before he knew it, Itachi was at his workplace waiting ever so patiently for the raven to finish up the last pieces of paper.

He was fine with it until he started pointing out how he wrote this word or that word and Sasuke got annoyed. His brother really knew how to test his patience and he swore he almost ripped the last piece of paper by the way he aggressively wrote on it.

"Don't know why that even took you so long,"

A petty comment.

Why the fuck did he agree on this again?

It wasn't too late to turn back and leave his brother stranded but as soon as the idea came it quickly left when they reached their destination. Itachi was the one driving despite Sasuke's complaints about how he clearly was the better driver out of the two which Itachi quickly shut off with bringing up how he was the eldest.

During the whole drive they were bickering like little kids, it reminded Sasuke back to when they were actual kids and he felt himself still at the realization.

After that, he stopped talking completely and rolled down the car window, feeling the cold wind hit his face.

He heard Itachi sigh as a frown replaced his earlier smile and he felt horrible for reacting as he did.

They were finally bonding and Sasuke completely fucked it up. Now they were exiting the car and the atmosphere felt heavy and he'd much rather die than be present at the moment, however he wasn't so lucky.

When they neared the one story building, Itachi started rummaging through his coat pockets. The doors were locked so it was possible he was searching for some sort of key, regardless Sasuke wasn't paying much attention.

The building was basic, red brick wall with clear yet tinted large windows and a sign above it that spelled out 'Konoha' but the a was slanted, almost falling. All in all the building looked rusty and worn out, it wouldn't be a surprise if it collapsed onto itself.

He had no idea what they were doing here and he'd much rather be eating or doing something more productive instead of standing there while Itachi finally found his keys and opened the doors, revealing the inside.

Itachi practically ushered him in and when they finally came to a stop Sasuke got a chance to look around.

The inside was completely different from the outside, that was obvious.

The walls were plain white and there were a multitude of shelves stacked with trophies, medals, and a bunch of awards.

As he looked around at them what really caught his eye was that all of them shared one name.

Itachi Uchiha.

Sasuke narrowed his eyes ever so slightly as his brother looked around, obviously prideful seeing all of the accomplishments with only his name on them.

What was this supposed to be? What was it even supposed to mean?

Before Sasuke could even ask any questions, Itachi once again dragged him off elsewhere. They went through two double doors and Sasuke was met face to face with a training room, there were punching bags, jumping ropes, gloves, and in the center a big boxing ring with a bunch of other stuff.

This had to be a joke.

"I liked it too." Itachi's voice cut through the eerie silence, bringing Sasuke out of his thoughts.

"Excuse me?" His voice rang out cold, obviously pissed off by whatever was going on.

"The sport, the boxing, the people, everything." His brother's expression was soft now, as if thinking back to older times. Was he implying…no.

Absolutely not. When would he even have had time for that?

"It was years ago, dad didn't like it. Mom supported me as long as I was happy, and me? Well, I loved it."

Sasuke stared at him completely lost now, Itachi…used to box?

Not only that, but he clearly was good—scratch that, probably amazing if all those trophies were any indication of those times.

"I had to quit though. Dad wasn't willing to let me go through with it, he dislikes the sport. Too aggressive for his liking or something, mom and him argued about it constantly. She insisted that I should be able to do what I liked, but dad saw it differently."

Okay what the fuck.

Sasuke was having a hard time processing all of this, not once was boxing ever mentioned in the Uchiha household and it was probable that this was the reason.

Itachi was a fucking prodigy at it.

He really didn't know what to make of this information except that his family—mostly Fugaku, sucked.

Sasuke didn't have an issue with the way his family handled things but this, this was completely different. If Itachi was good, why not let him pursue a career in boxing?

"To him, this was more or so a waste of time. No matter how many trophies or awards I won, his view didn't change. I had no choice but to join the company afterwards," Itachi reminisced, his tone above a whisper. His expression was distant, as if he was in a completely different dimension reliving everything.

It was clear he missed it, even if the company helped fill the void this was what he truly wanted.

Sasuke could tell.

"But, you don't have to do what I did. So grab some gloves and get your ass in the ring."

And just like that, Itachi began training him. What once had been a sullen and rather gloomy mood grew more into a focused and exciting training session, now this, this was bonding.

Itachi Uchiha was now added into the list of people not to disappoint, Sasuke would make sure of it.

He would do what Itachi wasn't able to.
