Emma really wished she hadn't invited Sophie to dinner. It wasn't totally Sophie's fault but still…
The eldest teenager in the room watched in disdain as her girlfriend and brother began another food war as Sabine and Tom left the room to get dessert.
This had been going on all night.
"Sophie!" Emma hissed at Sophie trying to get her to stop, "Stop it."
The blonde girl gave her a look, "Your brother started this."
Hugo ignored everything and continued eating his potatoes.
Louis glared at Sophie, "I started it? You guys got together and didn't tell me."
"You said you were okay with it," Emma replied.
"Yeah well…" Louis grumbled, "you never actually said you were going to do it. You could have warned me!"
Sophie looked to be about ready to scream but Emma stopped her with a hand to her arm and a glare. The blonde sighed and looked at Louis, "Louis, I'm sorry we weren't more clear but were dating now."
Louis looked guilty, "Well, I hope you are happy together."
There was a beat of awkward silence between the three as suddenly Sabine and Tom come back in with cake and ice cream and pause looking at the mess.
"Who made this mess?!" Sabine asked.
The teens looked and each other before in unison pointed at Hugo.
The blonde boy looked up in shock, "Wait, what?!"
….
"Baseball?"
"Yes, Emma, baseball. Paris is planning a charity baseball tournament to help those affected by the villain attacks," Nathalie explained over facetime as her granddaughter took her pills and gave her a look, "our brand is sponsoring a team. The teams are suppose to be teenagers between 13-18."
Emma made a face, "I haven't played baseball or softball since I was 12. Not to mention I don't want to."
"Honestly, I didn't think I would have to ask you," Nathalie admitted rubbing her eyes, "But none of the interns and employees' children don't want to be on the team sponsored by the ex-villain."
Oh. Right. Emma kept forgetting that Nathalie was still waiting for her trial for her crimes as Mayuri and was dealing with the media backlash from it. Like Emma knew most kids at school were smart enough to not approach the Agreste kids but she also heard Louis had to stop at least one or two kids from picking on Hugo about it.
"So, you're hoping at least me and my friends will help?" the girl replied, tired already.
"Well, I asked Louis first but apparently one of his photo club friends already recruited him to team Ladybug."
The latter part of that piqued Emma's interest as she raised her eyebrow at her phone, "Team Ladybug?"
"Oh, the teams are based on the old heroes," Natahlie smiled at her granddaughter,
That movie studio that made the old Ladybug movie is funding the Ladybug team, the newspaper is sponsoring the Rena Rogue team, the Le Grand Paris is funding the Queen Bee team, etc."
"And what team are you sponsoring?" Emma asked suspiciously.
With a sly smile Nathalie replied, "Team Cat Noir."
Emma tilted her head to the side in defeat, "I'll see if I can't round up 9 friends or so. With the dates you gave me, Jake and Rachel might have to be 2 of them."
Nathalie looked so relieved, "Thanks. I really didn't want the sponsorship to go to waste."
There was a knock on the window and Ladybug slide in with a smile, "Hey, honey I-"
Ladybug and Emma froze awkwardly as they looked from each other to Nathalie's unimpressed face.
"Um, Mrs. Agreste this isn't-"
"Sophie, I've known since December. I'm not even going to act surprised okay. Cat Noir is my granddaughter and her girlfriend is Ladybug."
"I'm not sure if were bad at hiding our identities or Grandmere is just smart," Emma muttered as Ladybug looked flustered.
"I just refuse to fall for the same tricks twice. I dealt with your parents. I won't deal with it with you, Emma."
….
Louis sat next to Emilie, or Bridgette as she corrected him, on a building top. He had been meeting with her one a week or so. For training and also so he could try to talk her into meeting with the rest of the family.
He understood to a degree she had been adopted by the Rossi family and felt obligated to stay with them, she explained she intialtional had had amnesia after being found after the accident. Bridgette had explained she didn't want to stress anyone out, that once they got the miraculous the wish would fix everything. Louis didn't think it was that easy or simple but it was a slow process getting his older sister to open up to him so he let it go for now.
Speaking of older sisters, that is why he actually came out to see Bridgette tonight though.
"I just...I understand feelings and all that but they could have at least cleared up they were going to try dating first you know?" Louis explained to his sister, "Like tell me first."
Bridgette blinked, "But...Emma and Sophie are both girls…"
That wasn't what he was expecting, "Well, yeah...Emma is a lesbian and Sophie, I actually didn't ask Sophie but I'm pretty sure she's bisexual, she dated me. But I don't care about sexualities. People are people you know, they have to explore who they are."
Bridgette simple stared off for a second before muttering almost too softly for Louis, to hear, "Another thing that Emma got to explore that was closed off to me."
"Wait, what?" Louis asked confused as Bridgette stood up and called for Dusuu.
"Listen, I think you're probably better off without Sophie and it won't matter once we get the miraculous and the wish."
Louis sighed scratching his head and Longg came out looked at him, "I'm starting to think Bridgette might need more therapy than you, Louis."
"Shush."
….
Dusuu glanced over at Bridgette as they settled on her bed in the small bedroom, "Maybe, you should tell Louis the whole truth."
"I'm not, it's too risky," the girl muttered as she held her pillow to her chest.
The kwami sighed, " Then maybe tell him about the whole Emma?"
"I don't think I can tell him that. How can I tell him I hate Emma?"
