An Incredible Girl
Danny groaned very loudly as he returned home.
Going through the door, he saw his parents.
"Skip this part!" Deadpool said as he used his remote to fast forward.
"Deadpool…" NeoMark said.
"Tell me Tucker at least went out with someone else?" Deadpool asks.
"He did."
"Okay." Deadpool said as he pressed play.
Danny answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Danny. How was your date?" Tucker asks.
"Terrible." Danny said.
"For reals?" Tucker asks.
"Yeah… her name was Cree. Get this, she beat up little kids. One of them was her little sister." Danny said.
"No fooling?" Tucker asks.
"No." Danny said.
"Oh, dang…" Tucker said.
"Yeah. Had to go ghost to stop her from getting too violent. She got arrested soon after."
"That bites… Still though…" Tucker went, his tone lifting.
"What?" Danny asks.
"You had a bad date, right?" Tucker asks, sounding almost pleased by that.
"Seriously?! You're taking pleasure that I went out with someone who hits kids?" Danny asks, feeling insulted.
"Oh… uh…" Tucker went, realizing his poor choice in words and tone.
"Yeah, so let's hear your date then. Was she the one or whatever?" Danny asks with an edge in his tone.
"She was… a girl named Trina Riffin. She was… emotional and had a nasty temper." Tucker admitted, realizing he had no room to talk.
"So… she wasn't great, was she?" Danny asks.
"N…No. She spent most of the time talking about hating her brother and snarling like a dog. Whenever I tried to talk, she talked over me. She even wrote in her diary while the wind started to pick up for some reason like a hurricane was about to start. She also smashed a table that my parents have to pay for, taking it out of my allowance." Tucker admitted.
"So… not interested in acting so smug now, huh?" Danny asks.
"No…" Tucker went in a depressed sigh.
"Okay then…" Danny said, arms crossed.
"I like this take more…" Deadpool said gleefully.
"Okay, let's see who we have here..." Danny mumbled as he read his date's profile.
User Name: SweetViolet
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Height: 5"6'
Weight: 90 lbs
Home Town: Metroville
Physical Description: I am a petite girl with long black hair and dark blue eyes.
Personality: I'm a bit of an introvert, I'm a little shy but nice and I just want a guy who can understand me...
Likes and Interests: Reading, listening to music, shopping and relaxing.
Type of person I wish to date: I just want a nice guy who can understand me...
Danny blinked, most of his dates talked about their best qualities but this SweetViolet wasn't afraid to admit her flaws. He figured she was shy but also honest. At the very least he doubts she'll be anywhere near as bad as Cree.
Their date will be at the movies tomorrow at 2.
With a yawn, Danny decided to call it a night.
The Next Day
Danny had managed to arrive to the movie theater, where he is to meet his blind date, SweetViolet.
"Okay… hair? Check. Flowers? Check. Shower and deodorant? Check." He said to himself.
Suddenly he saw a teenage girl approach him, one with long, shiny black hair and a heart sticker.
This had to be her. Thin but kind of cute… He thought.
"Hello there. You must be SweetViolet…" Danny said with a smile.
To his surprise, the girl was looking at the ground, as if to hide her face.
"Yes, but my real name is Violet. Violet Parr..." She said in a slightly shy voice and shoulders raised.
"It's nice to meet you Violet, I'm D-Fenton... Danny Fenton…" Danny said as he handed her the flowers.
"Thank you…" Violet said as she took them.
"Uh… well… let's get the tickets." He said.
"Sure…" Violet went, looking away.
As they went in line and he purchased the tickets, Danny can't help but notice this almost heartbroken look on her face.
She has pretty eyes… but she looks so… I don't know… upset. He thought.
Danny then opened the door for her.
"Thanks…" She mumbled as if she were afraid to raise her voice.
SweetViolet? More like Shrinking Violet. He thought, wondering what happened to make her like this.
"Ah, Violet Parr from the Incredibles. If I recall, you wanted to write about her but someone beat you to it." Deadpool said.
"Yes they did. See, Violet is a character I liked. While I have no problem with the sequel taking place like 10 seconds after the first, I'm more open to a future film doing a time skip. Speaking of, lemme address something quick. I'm sure someone's going to say Violet probably breaks the rule since two movies doesn't necessarily add up to the amount of, say, one season. She's also appeared in video games and comics. Granted, Incredibles 2 made those comics not canon, but those appearances don't necessarily contradict her powers or personality and are still official appearances owned and/or licensed by the parent company, so it counts." NeoMark said.
"Now you finally get to write about her going on a date with Danny!" Deadpool said.
"Yes I do. And ooh boy, am I glad we're finally here." NeoMark said.
"You are?" Deadpool asks.
"See… There's another reason I've been wanting to write about her. It's a little nitpick I've been waiting for 5 years to finally address!" NeoMark went like a raging madman.
"... really?" Deadpool asks.
"Yup… you'll know what it is when we get there." NeoMark said.
Inside
Once inside the theater, Danny and Violet bought some popcorn and snacks before they went to where they would view their movie, one that was ironically about superheroes. Violet had been quiet the whole time, not even asking what kind of snacks she wanted.
Guess it's up to me to break the ice… Danny thought.
"So Violet, tell me about yourself?" Danny asked in an attempt to get her attention.
She seemed to have perked up a bit as she slowly looked at him.
"Well... I live in Metroville with my parents and my two brothers. I go to Western View High and I turned 14 about 5 months ago..." Violet said meekly.
Danny blinked as he noticed how she was even more shy than his other dates.
Wow… everyone I've had so far was either confident, clumsy, or just generally a nice person. This girl's acting like she's afraid to even speak up. He thought as he decided to speak up.
"So, what are your hobbies?" Danny asked, wanting to get to know her better.
"Well...Usually I like reading a good book, listening to music, drawing when I am bored..." Violet said, getting his attention.
There's something. He thought.
"You draw? That's cool…" Danny said, hoping to help her loosen up.
Danny noticed the gloomy look on her face as she only stared at the soda in her hand, almost as if she were afraid to respond to his compliment.
Something had to have happened to her to get her like this… Danny thought, deciding he had to ask.
He must think I'm weird or creepy or something. I knew this was a mistake. This whole thing was a terrible idea. I just wanted to get my mind off what happened and none of my dates even seemed to care, just thinking I'm being hard to please… Danny will probably just act polite and stay quiet like the rest… Violet thought miserably.
"Violet?" Danny suddenly asked.
The introverted girl flinched, apparently getting her out of her thoughts.
"Huh? Oh yes, Danny?" Violet asked awkwardly.
"Are you alright?" Danny asked.
Violet was momentarily surprised.
He's… worried? About me? She thought.
However, someone caught sight of her.
"Violet?"
Violet saw him, the last person she wanted to see at the moment.
"Oh...Hi Tony… 'Violet said, looking away.
"Hi… I...uh...didn't expect to see you here..." Tony said awkwardly.
"Me neither…" Violet said, looking down and away from him.
'So...who is your friend?" Tony asked as he awkwardly gestured to Danny, who felt equally as awkward.
"I'm Danny Fenton.." 'Danny said.
He doesn't seem like a bad guy… but he's making Violet feel uncomfortable for some reason… Danny thought.
"I'm Tony Rydinger, nice to meet you.." Tony said as he politely shook his hand before he turned his attention to Violet. "So..." He then paused.
"So..." Violet paused as well, still avoiding eye contact.
"Uh...you two enjoy the movie...I'm gonna get to my seat...it was nice meeting you, Danny..." Tony said shyly as he retreated to the far back of the movie theater.
Danny turned his attention to Violet, who looked pretty frazzled right now.
"Violet, sorry if I'm coming off as nosy but who exactly is that guy?" Danny asked.
Violet looked away from him as if afraid to look him in the eye.
"Look, I'm sorry… the truth is… that guy that was just here? He's my ex-boyfriend… and he broke up with me a few weeks ago…" Violet confessed.
"Oh, I'm so sorry..." Danny said.
So that's why she's so afraid to speak up… her heart must still be hurting. And I thought Marinette dealing with unrequited love was hard. Danny thought.
"I'm sorry if things are awkward but I didn't expect him to be here…" Violet said while looking nervously away.
"Hey, it's okay...we all have ex issues...' Danny said, briefly recalling Valerie and what they almost had together. "You want to talk about it?"
"Let's just say...it didn't work out. We were just too different but it still has been kind of rough…" Violet said, feeling strange that she was confiding in a stranger.
However, Danny seemed like he wasn't judging her. She has been keeping this to herself for a while and she might as well tell him since he asked.
Danny saw her expression and felt sympathy for her. He could tell that she wouldn't be able to enjoy the movie due to her ex being here, even if he doesn't seem to want to cause them any trouble. He knew he had to do something. Blind date or not, Violet seems like a nice girl, if a bit shy. Aside from that, it's his responsibility here to make sure she has a good time.
"Hey Violet, if you're up for it...we could do something else if you're not in the mood for a movie anymore?" Danny suggested
This got Violet's attention. She was surprised that he would offer to do something else because he noticed she wasn't comfortable here.
"What? But you already bought the tickets..." Violet pointed out.
"There's still a while before the movie, maybe we can get a refund. ..if you want to…" Danny offered.
Violet blinked, surprised by this. After a moment, a smile appeared on her face, the first she had all day, and nodded.
Maybe he's not so bad… Violet thought as they walked out of the theater.
"So far, it looks like it's a total remake of the original." Deadpool commented.
"Wanna skip to Dash's stupidity?" NeoMark asks.
"Alrighty then." Deadpool said as he hit fast forward.
At the Nasty Burger
Danny smiled, feeling that they finally were getting more relaxed around each other. It seems they are finally starting on the right foot.
"Hey Fentonowski!" An obnoxious voice called.
"No..." Danny groaned when he turned around to see his regular bully Dash Baxter.
"Danny...who is that guy?" Violet asked.
"Trouble. Maybe if we ignore him, he'll go away..." Danny whispered.
That's when Danny was grabbed by the collar, lifted into the air.
"What was that?!" Dash asks.
"Sorry, I was conversing with someone worth my time." Danny said, not even bothering to make eye contact.
"Well… your babe bodyguards aren't around to save you. Looks like I can finally take my issues with our Summer vacation getting canceled out on you!" Dash said with a grin, readying his fist.
"Hey! Leave him alone!" Violet demanded, finally getting Dash's attention.
"Who the heck are you supposed to be?" Dash asked rudely, not seeing her before.
"My name is Violet Parr and I would like to ask that you put my date down, right now!" Violet shouted as if giving an order.
Dash blinked at first.
"Date? Ha, first the goth, then Valerie, the Kung Fu girl in the skirt, the chick with blue body paint, and now this skinny little dweeb?!" Dash scoffed rudely.
"Don't talk about her, Sakura, or Lapis like that!" Danny said, his natural chivalry over weighing the fact that he is at the mercy of his bully.
"And what are you going to do about it?" Dash asked smugly.
"He won't because I will...and I say, leave now or else." Violet said in an assertive voice.
Danny was surprised.
Earlier she was shy and reclusive, now she is standing up to Dash, who is way bigger than her, all for the sake of helping a guy she met only today. Despite it all, Danny found himself smiling.
I'll give her this much...she's pretty brave… Danny thought, actually impressed.
Dash however ignored her and was about to go take Danny for his usual acts of misplaced aggression. However, something different happened.
Dash suddenly found himself tripping forward and fell to the ground and ended up releasing Danny. Danny himself was surprised, seeing Dash on the floor facedown.
"Huh?" Danny exclaimed before Violet grabbed his collar.
"Come on, while he's down..." Violet insisted as she started to run for it.
He didn't argue, following her once she let go of his collar.
Danny and Violet quickly ran out of the Nasty Burger as soon as Dash, who was still on the floor, saw them leave
"Hey! Get back here! I ain't done with ya!" Dash shouted as he got up and ran after them.
However, Dash ran past an alley, unaware that Danny and Violet had hidden in it and had watched him from behind a dumpster until he was gone.
"I think he's gone..." Danny said, happy he managed to get lucky and elude Dash.
Weird… he's not usually that clumsy. I didn't see anything on the floor and I didn't sense a ghost… He thought.
"So I'm guessing...school bully?" Violet said.
"Yeah, that's Dash Baxter...he's the most popular guy at my school, the quarterback of the football team and the biggest jerk in town..." Danny said, noticing the surprised look on Violet's face.
"Dash?" Violet asked as if she needed to hear that.
"What?" Danny asked.
"It's funny, I have a ten year old by her named D- bleh. BROTHER! I have a ten year old brother named Dash. He's as annoying as he can be, I can tell he's way more mature than that creep..." Violet said.
"I think I can see that..." Danny chuckles, seeing Dash having less maturity than a little kid.
The scene paused.
Deadpool slowly turned his head to look at NeoMark.
"Was that it? A typo where she said "by her" and not brother?" Deadpool asks.
"Yes! You have no idea how oddly obsessed I was with that one typo!" NeoMark went.
"... and people think I have a few screws loose…" Deadpool said before pressing play.
"You do have screws loose." NeoMark said.
"Says the guy who obsessed over a typo for 5 years!" Deadpool went.
NeoMark rolled his eyes before motioning him to press play.
The scene continued
Danny then turned to Violet with an appreciative smile.
"Thanks for...you know. ..trying to stick up for me. Dash can be a little intimidating to some people..." Danny said.
Violet looked a little bashful, her cheeks turning a bit red.
"No problem...I mean...he was being really unreasonable...it's not your fault his trip got canceled. And besides, I don't like seeing somebody trying to hurt others. Besides, you were cool with what happened with Tony at the movies. I figured I could have returned the favor." Violet said with a smile on her face.
Danny smiled, seeing her lightening up.
"Well...thanks Violet, I'm just sorry Dash had to spoil this part of our date too..." Danny apologized.
"It doesn't have to be. Why don't we head back and get our burgers to go before Ape-Boy comes back and we can do something else?" Violet suggested.
Danny smiled, feeling there might be some hope left for this blind date.
The two headed back to the Nasty Burger.
One Hour Later
The two had finished lunch and were walking down the street.
They've talked about family, goals, friends and other interests. It's helped them become much more comfortable with each other.
"I think it's kind of cool that you want to be an astronaut Danny..." Violet said after Danny told her of his interest in space and NASA.
"Thanks...I'm already a junior certified astronaut and I'm always reading any news about it..." Danny said.
"I remember my folks telling me how they had watched recordings of the moon landing back in the day..." Violet said.
"Did the original say her parents witnessed it themselves?" Deadpool asks.
"True but the original story was in 2018… the moon landing was in 1969. They'd have to be in their 50's by then. Plus, she's from a series set in like before the moon landing." NeoMark said.
"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind..." Danny recited his favorite quote, making Violet giggle at his antics.
"You know...you're kind of funny..." Violet said.
"Thanks..." Danny said smiling.
"No, thank you. This has been... kind of a wonderful time." Violet said.
"Was it the food?" Danny asks.
"More like the company. You're the first guy who actually asked me about my problems... and you went out of your way to get me away from Tony too. Most would have suggested I stay to show I'm tough or something..." Violet said.
"Considering how brave you were with Dash, I'd say you are tough. I won't push you into doing something like that... but you should give yourself more credit. If Tony can't see how awesome you are, it's his loss." Danny said.
Violet blushed, looking away a bit with a small smile on her face. However, that smile dropped when she realized something.
"Well.. to be honest... it's kind of my fault we broke up." She admitted.
"How so?" Danny asks.
"Well... I kind of sort of... had to do something with my family. As much as I try not to, I kind of am getting into the family business..." Violet asks.
"Business? Like... baking?" Danny asks.
"No... I suck at that." Violet said, avoiding eye contact.
"Did you burn a cake?" Danny asks playfully.
"More like the house..." Violet admitted sheepishly.
"Oh... well, can't say that hasn't happened with my parents." Danny said, getting a look from her. "Long story...anyway, you were saying?"
"It's more like... uh... How do I say this? Uh..." Violet went, trying to find the right words.
That's when the ground started to shake.
At first, they ignored it, thinking a large truck of some kind was passing. However, it became more unstable as they almost lost their footing.
"An earthquake?" Danny asks.
However, the shaking stopped, almost as if moving. The rumbling sound continued, something they noticed as the sight of the shaking passed and caused cars' windshields to crack.
Violet stared as if recalling something before her eyes widened.
"Please no... not here..." She said under her breath.
Danny barely heard her words. He was about to ask before a giant drill was seen breaking out of the ground.
Soon, a large machine that the drill was attached to came out of the hole it created before appearing in front of the nearby bank.
Suddenly, the hatch on the topside opened. Out came what looked to be a construction worker and a mole in dirty work clothes, and a nasty expression on its face .
"I am... the Underminer!" He shouted with a deep, raspy sort of voice . "I AM ALWAYS BENEATH YOU, BUT NO ONE IS BENEATH ME! I HEREBY DECLARE YOUR UNDESERVED CURRENCY NOW BELONGS TO ME! AND NO ONE WILL STAND IN MY WAY!"
Danny made a face.
"The Underminer?" He asks.
He's obviously not a ghost... but that doesn't mean I'm gonna sit back and let him cause trouble.
First thing was first, he had to get Violet someplace where she can't see him morph.
"Violet...you go somewhere safe and hide. I'll...go try and call for help..." Danny said to his blind date.
"Sure...sure..." Violet said as the two parted.
Little did he know, Violet had her own plans.
Danny looked around, hid behind a nearby tree and changed into his heroic alter ego, Danny Phantom.
With the Underminer
The power in the bank was shut off, rendering the bank without power. That made breaking the safe open much easier.
Loading money into his machine, the Underminer grinned.
"This will more than suffice…" He said to himself.
Before he grabbed another bag of money, a blast shot near his head, getting his attention.
"I think that's a little too much for a withdrawal." Danny, hovering off the ground with his fist held out, said.
"Huh? Another Super? Here?" The Underminer said.
"A Super? Well… I guess you don't know why this was not the town to cause trouble in." Danny said.
Before the Underminer could do something, he walked into a wall of violet energy that appeared out of nowhere before disappearing.
"Huh?!" Danny went, looking around for what caused that.
The Underminer shook his head, realizing what happened.
"So, you're with the Incredibles! I should have guessed since you're dressed like them!" The Underminer went.
"The Incredibles?" Danny asks.
The Underminer then pulled out a pile of dirt and blew it around.
Coughing was heard as the shape of a girl appeared around him.
"Got you!" The Underminer said as he pulled out a pickaxe.
Whoever this was gasped before raising a shield for protection. The Underminer resumed trying to pick through the shield before he was tackled away from whoever this was. The pickaxe was tossed in the air before Danny caught it, breaking the metal part with his grip.
"You okay… uh… whoever you are?" Danny asks as he lets go of the broken metal.
That's when this person became visible.
"Uh… hi…" She said shyly, as if she was caught doing something she shouldn't.
Danny blinked as he saw a skinny girl with long black hair in a stylish red jumpsuit with black boots and gloves, along with a black mask.
"Huh… you look… kind of familiar…" Danny said. "Who are you?"
"I'm… uh… I don't really have a proper name yet. My brother called me Little Miss Disappear, so… I guess Miss Disappear?" She went with an unsure tone.
"Oh? Well, I gue-"
The scene paused.
Deadpool turned his head to NeoMark.
"What are you doing?" NeoMark asks.
"Isn't she called Invisigirl?" Deadpool asks.
"That's a fan name, not an official one. Neither Disney or Pixar have ever used it in official media, so I'm not using it." NeoMark said.
"Really? You're not using it because it's a fan term?" Deadpool asks.
"Yeah. You may have noticed over the years I've avoided using terms like "halfa" because those aren't official terms. The halfa was just something Poindexter called him, because he was "half a boy and half a ghost", meaning it was specific for Danny himself. Also, I avoid the whole concept of "ghost cores" because that's not what Frostbite actually told him in "Urban Jungle", it was essentially that his internal body temperature was freezing." NeoMark said.
"I see… well, back to this then." Deadpool said as he rewound slightly.
"Huh… you look… kind of familiar…" Danny said. "Who are you?"
"I'm… uh… I don't really have a proper name yet. My brother called me Little Miss Disappear, so… I guess Miss Disappear?" She went with an unsure tone.
"Oh? Well, I guess that works. So, Miss Disappear? Not to be rude, but, why are you here?" Danny asks.
Before she could say something, the Underminer's tank started up again.
"I have what I came for! Good thing you teenagers are easily distracted by finding each other attractive!" He shouted as he closed the hatch.
"HEY! I'M ON A DATE WITH SOMEONE ELSE!" The two went in unison before noticing what the other said.
"Wait, you too?" Danny asks.
As Miss Disappear looked away sheepishly, Danny's curiosity grew.
After Marinette, this is too much to be a coincidence. He thought.
"Here's a gift for you both!" The Underminer shouted before something was thrown out from the hatch as the tank began moving.
Once it landed near their feet, both superheroes realized what it was.
"Wait, is that a cartoon bomb?" Danny asks before hovering upward. "I gotta get rid of it." He said..
"I got this!" Miss Disappear said as she used her power to trap the bomb in a bubble while keeping it in the air.
"Wow… you can do that too?" Danny asks.
"I can turn invisible and make force fields. Now… the bad guy?" She asks.
"Right… Underfish." Danny said.
"Underminer." She corrected him.
"Does it matter?" Danny asks.
Before Miss Disappear could answer, the bomb went off. The explosion was more powerful than she expected as it knocked her back, sending her sliding towards the wall. Thinking fast, Danny fired a beam that created a 10 ft in diameter pile of snow to cushion the impact.
The impact into the snow with her face affected how the mask was placed.
Danny saw the tank of the Underminer start to leave as he was about to go, but not before going to his sudden ally.
"Miss Disappear?" He asks.
Slowly getting on all fours, she shook her head before standing up.
"You could give Frozone a run for his money…" She said before dusting herself off before turning around.
She turned around, looking towards the hole the Underminer went. She didn't see it yet, but Danny did.
Half of her domino mask was peeled off, exposing just enough of her face for him to recognize her.
"Violet?" Danny asks, raising an eyebrow.
She was caught off guard by him saying her name.
"Uh… what?" I mean… what did you call me?" She asks nervously as Danny pulls the part of the mask that was sticking out, exposing her face. With a gasp, she covered her face. "Dude! Superhero rules!" She said before turning invisible.
"Look, relax. Underarm damaged the electrical system here, so the cameras have no power to see us." Danny said.
"Not that! I can't be seen! I finally met a really great guy on this dating program I'm on! He's cute, fun, funny and nice to me… and didn't give me grief about my ex…" Violet went, sounding very defensive right now.
Danny was touched that she became so attached to him so quickly.
"Well… he thinks you're a pretty great person too." He said.
"How would you know?" Violet asks in a panicked voice.
"Because… I'm realizing that it was your power that tripped Dash." Danny said as he held the mask out.
Violet stopped panicking, slowly tuning visible as realization hit her.
"Wait… you knew my name… so…?"
Danny smiled with a shrug.
"I guess this is the family business, right?" Danny asks.
"Danny?" Violet asks with a small smile before curiosity gets to her. "Wait. How are you a superhero? And why am I learning this now?"
"Explanations later. We gotta stop Underbite." Danny said as Violet took her mask back.
"Underminer." She corrected with a smile before taking his hand.
The two flew after the drill tank.
The Underminer's tank burrowed through the dirt as he grinned at the money he now had.
"Those stupid laws in Metroville made things so easy, and that kid's the only Super I've seen in this town… this should be the best score yet." He said before something hit his leg, making him fall face first into the floor.
"Don't count on it." Violet said, appearing before him with her mask back on.
Underminer shook his head as he got up, seeing Violet before him.
"How'd you get in here?" He questioned angrily.
"Wouldn't you like to know. Now stop this thing!" Violet ordered.
"No chance!" Underminer shouted, taking a shovel he had on the side and used it as a weapon.
Violet turned invisible once more before the Underminer could reach her. He swung his weapon, hitting nothing. Looking around, he tried to locate her, only for him to fall as he was struck behind the knee. Angered, he tried to get back up, but Violet stepped on his hand, making his hiss in pain while swinging his hand to soothe it.
Upon getting up, he heard footsteps behind him, giving Violet away.
"Think you can outsmart the Underminer?!" He shouted as swung his shovel in her direction.
A force field appeared, protecting Violet from harm before the shovel made impact. However, the Underminer saw an opening and kicked her in the stomach to knock her down.
"Oof!" Violet went, hitting the floor.
"Ha!" The Underminer went, raising his weapon. "You thought you could stop me without your family?! You couldn't even do that with them!"
"I know I couldn't stop you…" Violet went.
The Underminer slightly lowered his weapon, surprised to her her agree with him.
"Why are you admitting that?" He asks.
"Because… I'm just the distraction." Violet said with a smile.
The Underminer questioned her words as he noticed something. His tank wasn't moving anymore.
"Wait… what?!" He shouted.
He made his way to the engine room, seeing the machinery completely frozen.
"Hope you don't mind my redecorating!" Danny Phantom said, appearing before him.
"YOU!" The Underminer shouted, raising his shovel to fight him.
Before he could attack, a barrier blocked him, hitting it face first.
"Sorry, can't let you do that!" Violet said, having made that shield herself.
Turning his head to see Violet, the Underminer growled loudly as he directed his attention to her and attempt to strike her.
However, a green barrier appeared, blocking him.
"That one's me." Danny said.
The Underminer tried to attack Danny upon turning around, only for another of Violet's barriers to block him, this time bouncing him away. Danny created another shield, which did the same.
The two teenagers glanced at each other before smiling, seeing an opportunity to have a little fun.
They repeated the process, bouncing him around like a ball numerous times. Both were unable to stifle their laughter.
After several more seconds, they stopped, seeing the Underminer facedown on the floor with his tongue sticking out.
Danny and Violet stood together, both pleased.
"That was fun." Danny said.
"Best part of the date so far." Violet admitted.
"Now, to get this thing upside." Danny said.
In minutes
To the shock of the people of Amity Park, a large tank with a drill on it appeared on the concrete in the middle of the road. Once it was tangible, it was let down by who managed to lift it up.
Danny managed to phase through the concrete and presented himself as Violet, still in her Miss Disappear outfit, opened the hatch and walked out calmly as people crowded around them.
"Impressed?" Danny asked, flexing his arm.
"I am... but not with that." Violet responded with a smile as the two waved to everyone.
"Everyone! Here's the money that was just robbed!" Danny said as the police arrived.
As the crowd applauded for the two, the Underminer peeked out. He saw them distracted, making this an important opportunity. He made a break for it.
"The Underminer will rise again!" He shouted.
"Hey, Underbelly's getting away!" Danny said.
"I got it." Violet said.
With a swing of her arm, Violet fired a crescent shaped barrier as a projectile, sending it towards the Underminer, making him fall on his face.
"YOU ROTTEN LITTLE BRATS!" He said with his face on the ground.
Danny was momentarily surprised by Violet's quick thinking and confident smile, causing him to start finding this side of her rather attractive.
"Pound it." Danny said, raising his fist to her.
Violet studied his fist a moment before smiling and returning the gesture.
The police then detained the Underminer.
"Let go of me, surface dwellers!" He shouted.
"It's over, Underachiever." Danny said.
"It's Underminer!" He barked angrily.
"I think Underachiever works better, don't you?" Danny asks Violet, who giggled at what he said.
"Sure does." She said to him.
With that, the two held hands and bowed to the cheering audience before Danny took her into the sky with him.
20 minutes later
Danny and Violet, still in their hero attire, sat atop a building, watching the city.
"So… you weren't born that way like I was?" Violet asks.
"Nope." Danny said.
"Huh… I actually never met another Super who didn't have the gene my dad said he and my mom had that gave them and me their powers." Violet said.
"Well, now you have." Danny said with a smile.
"Yeah…" Violet said with a smile as she looked away.
It took seconds before Danny noticed just how quiet she was.
"You okay?" Danny asks.
"Sorry, it's just… I don't know… I was kind of looking forward to meeting someone… no offense, normal. I can't help who I am… but I kind of wish I was with someone who isn't a super. Someone… normal." Violet admitted.
"None taken. My friend Sam… she'd say normal is overrated." Danny said.
"No offense to your friend, but if she's not like us, she doesn't get it." Violet said.
"None taken. I totally get it. I still wish I never stepped foot in that portal." Danny admitted.
"At least you weren't born with your powers…" Violet said.
"Maybe not…" Danny said before putting a hand on shoulder. "But I gotta admit… you're an incredible girl… and not because you're one of the Incredibles. I saw how brave you were and how cool it was when you knocked down Underminer… whose name I just got right."
"Really?" Violet asks, looking at him now.
"Yeah. I think you're fun, cute and great to talk to. But I won't lie… seeing how brave you were, I like this confident girl more and think she can stand to be this without the mask." Danny said with honesty.
"I kind of have to hide who I am a bit so people don't recognize me. After all, it worked for you." Violet pointed out.
"Huh… yeah… you put that thing in your hair, you wore less baggy clothes, you even acted braver a bit." Danny said.
Just like with Marinette… He thought before recalling something.
"By the way… where were you hiding that outfit?" Danny asks.
"I had the mask, gloves and boots in my bag. The rest of the suit was under my clothes." Violet admitted.
"Wait, really?" Danny asks, seeing her nod. "Wow… no wonder you looked uncomfortable."
"Yeah…" Violet admitted with a chuckle.
"Well… you don't have to hide everything. I say… keep your head up more and show how confident and snarky you can be, maybe not as much as you are as a superhero." Danny said.
"I'm not sure. My confidence took a blow when Tony and I broke up… I got it back… but I'm not sure if any other guy would appreciate learning who I am." Violet admitted.
"Well… even if you and I don't pick each other… I know I appreciate who you are. I don't have any problem being friends with you or more." Danny said happily.
Hearing that, Violet smiled at him.
"Thanks for that, Danny." She said.
"Anyt-"
Before Danny knew it, Violet kissed him on the cheek, something that caught him by surprise.
Violet, upon realizing what she did, she pulled away and turned red.
"Uh… s-sorry…" She said, looking away and feeling her face get warmer. "I wasn't aiming for your mouth or anything…" She said, looking like he'd panic.
Danny only smiled at her, deciding to hold her closer to make her calm down.
"It's cool…" He said.
Violet smiled again.
"So… now what?" Violet asks.
"Wanna spar or something?" Danny asks.
"Uh… no…" Violet said with an eyebrow raised.
"Thought so… I guess we can just sit up here and talk before it's time for you to go, Violet." Danny said, knowing from what he saw she isn't much for hand-to-hand.
"Thanks. Also… you can call me Vi." Violet said.
"Really?" Danny asks.
"Yeah… I let people I trust or care for call me that. Family, friends… potential boyfriends…" She admitted.
"Okay… but I got 20 dates left. You?" Danny asks.
"Same." Violet said.
"Well… even if we don't end up together… I wouldn't mind doing more team ups with you, or just hanging out." Danny said.
"Me too…" Violet said, the joy she felt clear on her face.
Feeling comfortable, Violet rested her head on Danny's shoulder. Danny held onto her as his free hand was open. Violet, feeling confident, reached out and held it. The two smiled, blushing. They knew if anyone saw them, they'd think Danny Phantom and Miss Disappear were a couple, but that didn't matter. They were both just comfortable to be alone together right now.
They didn't notice a small bug watching them.
One Hour Later
After spending more time together talking and sharing adventures, Danny agreed to take Violet to where her bus home was to arrive.
Danny waited for her outside the bathroom where she'd change, having already morphed. She came out, back to her civilian clothes.
"Thanks for taking me to the bus stop..." Violet said politely.
"No problem. I could've taken you home, though." Danny said.
"I know… but I'm not ready to introduce my dad to another boy… even one I'm sort of liking a lot right now…" She said the last part in a low voice.
"I can hear you, y'know." Danny said.
"R-Right…" Violet said, looking away with a blush.
"One last thing though." Danny said, getting her attention.
"Yeah?" Violet asks.
"You did kiss me out of nowhere, right?" Danny said.
"Y-Yeah?" Violet went.
"So…" Danny said as he inched closer.
Violet turned red as Danny's face got close to hers. She thought he was about to kiss her.
Oh my gosh...should I? Or is it too soon? I mean...he is a cool guy...and cute...but...should I let it happen? She thought nervously.
Then, to her shock, he quickly kissed her forehead innocently.
Violet's face was still red as Danny smirked at her.
"There. We're even…" He said.
Violet paused for a moment.
"I… I thought you were going to kiss me on the lips…not that I would have hated it or anything." Violet said, smiling a bit as her blush turned brighter.
This must be how I looked to Marinette and Lapis… He thought in amusement.
"Even so… that wasn't me trying to tempt you into picking me. I just wanted to let you know… I enjoyed our time together, and I'm glad I met you." Danny said.
Hearing that calmed Vi down a bit.
"Danny, I'm gonna be honest with you...I was sort of skeptical of this blind dating and despite some stuff, I had a nice time with you…" Violet said with a still bashful smile.
"I did too. Really Vi, you're a really cool girl..." Danny said
Hearing that made Violet's heart beat a bit.
I haven't felt like this since I first met Tony… She thought with a smile.
"I didn't think I'd meet a great person with this service, much less someone who helped me get over my heartbreak enough to not let it hold me down anymore." Violet admitted.
"Well, I succeeded." Danny said.
"Next bus to Metroville has arrived." They heard the intercom go.
"Guess that's my cue." Violet said.
Darn, was kind of hoping it took a while… She thought.
"Okay Vi. Well, I had a great time and it was really nice getting to meet you..." Danny said.
"Same here..." Vi said.
However, before going to her bus, Violet decided to let confidence take over as she suddenly hugged Danny. Danny paused a moment before he smiled and hugged her back.
Both of them were smiling as they held onto each other.
After a few seconds, Violet pulled back and nodded.
"See ya later Danny, we should do this again real soon... " Violet said with a smile.
"Go on a date or just hang out?" Danny asks.
"Mmm… either works." She said as she winked goodbye happily.
"See ya, Vi..." Danny waved as he watched her go.
"Later Danny." Violet said as she headed to her bus.
He waited until seeing her bus go. Danny and Violet briefly saw each other and waved as the bus made the turn and headed to Metroville.
Danny then left for home, happy that his date had at least ended on a high note.
"And there goes date #10. Well… I think it's time for a break." NeoMark said.
"Yup. So, how do you wanna spend it?" Deadpool asks.
"Not sure. Play some Smash?" NeoMark asks.
"We could… or we could also… have you face the music!" Deadpool said.
"... come again?" NeoMark asks.
That's when Deadpool grabbed NeoMark by the shoulder and, before the latter knew it, they were teleported onto a live stage where he was pushed onto a couch.
"You have wronged someone, big boy!" Deadpool went.
"What the heck, Deadpool?!" NeoMark shouted.
"He's talking about me."
NeoMark turned around and saw someone looking down at him with disappointment.
"Flower Princess11?" He then noticed others present. "Wait, the other authors?"
"This little tribute for the 5 year anniversary has exposed some… dark truths about you. Now, we're going to deal with it… here and now." Flower Princess11 said seriously before looking at Deadpool. "But first…"
She held her hand out in a "give me" manner.
"Huh?" Deadpool asks.
"Our bet when I agreed to this. You said he'd either have 5 redheads or only return the redheads. He did not. There were 4 and Violet, who is a returning girl, is not a redhead. Pay up!" Flower Princess11 said.
Deadpool groaned before pulling out his wallet and handing her a $50.
"Fine." He said as Flower Princess11 held her prize up with a smile.
New chapter with thanks to Flower Princess11.
Don't worry, I'm not in trouble with her... this is just a gag. Plus, taking a break from this story. Back to it in a few weeks.
