Intermission
Static appeared on a screen before Deadpool appeared.
"Daytime with Deadpool. Today, NeoMark was celebrating the 5th anniversary of The Many Dates of Danny Fenton with a special clearly ripping off What If, and it wasn't even an original ripoff as YouTuber Thorgi did the same thing. But now, he's been exposed as revealing not liking many choices made in the original story. Now, Flower Princes11 and some of the other authors are confronting him over the choices he made. What secrets is he keeping? What other characters will NOT be appearing? Following that, Elektra from the 00's will be returning in Deadpool 3. Where has she been? What has she been up to? Does she still crave revenge on Bullseye? Will someone finally reach the top of the food chain at Marvel and give everyone who loved them before the MCU what they wan? Namely, Carol Danvers in her way more iconic black leotard while confessing she loves our ol' pal Spidey, who needs it thanks to the existence of Paul. And finally… is there really going to be a Marvel vs Capcom 4? We'll have all this and more on Daytime with Deadpool. Today at 3 on ABC!" Deadpool said happily before someone called out to him from offscreen. "Hmm?" He read the cue card. "Ahh… I have just been informed that Daytime with Deadpool is not an actual talk show affiliated with the Walt Disney Corporation… so there is no point in tuning it today at 3 on ABC… I'm sure someone will watch something at that time… but it's not us… So… I guess we just start the chapter now then…"
NeoMark huffed at being tied up on the couch as Deadpool walked onto stage.
"Hey folks! It's time for Daytime with Deadpool!" He said cheerfully with the microphone.
The audience cheered.
"This is the stupidest thing you've done…" NeoMark grumbled.
"It is…"
NeoMark looked to see who said that.
"FP11?"
"Sorry… this prank went a little… out of hand. I was just playing around… but Deadpool decided to take it far." FP11 said.
As NeoMark rolled his eyes, Deadpool once again presented himself to the audience.
"So… now let's introduce the rest of the people who take issue with what NeoMark has done! I've invited Luiz4200, BeConfuzzled Writer and 61394 to today's show!" Deadpool said.
That's when the other authors walked in.
"This isn't the dumbest thing he's done." 61394 commented. "No, the dumbest thing was probably you and the Warners guessing the names of Dani's perfect match in the worlds her brother picks Makoto, Gwen, April and Starfire." the chaotic author said.
"Why are you griping about that? We invited you to lunch afterwards, right?" Deadpool asked
"Then you left me with the bill." 61394 pointed out, seeming a little ticked.
The other authors winced at the financial blow of paying for Wakko Warner's lunch and it likely wasn't easy to imagine.
"Okay, yeah that was a low blow." Deadpool said. "Would it help if I said sorry?"
"Of course it'll help, it'll help even more if you toss in a Krabby Patty." 61394 said as Deadpool tossed him the delicious burger, letting him eat it. "All's forgiven."
"Granted, since you're practically restraining an author, this may be one of your more dangerous stunts." BCW commented, adjusting his glasses.
"Who is he even doing this for?" Luiz4200 asks.
"For himself...and ratings...and probably cause he's bored." BCW shrugged, not particularly interested in the merc's antics.
"So far, I've been having a good time while I don't know every girl Neos set Danny up with in this new part of the multiverse super well I can say he's at least having fun." 61394 commented "Though Lapis and Sakura seem more like it'd work better platonically then romantically."
It was then Deadpool put away his silly antics, looking at him menacingly. A button was pressed and a sign came from above, displaying the word "Gasp" in all caps.
"I WANTED LAPIS! AND SAKURA IS THE MOST POPULAR STREET FIGHTER CHARACTER! THAT'S NOT AN OPINION, CAPCOM MADE A POPULARITY POLL AND SHE CAME ON TOP! THEY WOULD BE IDEAL FOR ROMANCE!" Deadpool shouted.
"While in the end, romance is nothing more that the results of built chemistry between characters, there's still only so much one can do." BCW said, earning the merc's attention on him.
"You stay out of this, Fuzzy. You're the one with a Danny pairing including a hot one-shot character!" Deadpool poked the author's nose, not that it annoyed him.
The audience then booed at BCW as Deadpool snickered.
"Where did he get this many people?" FP11 asks, only to be met with shrugs from the other authors.
"So… let's get to the nitty gritty, folks! NeoMark!" Deadpool approached and put the mic to his face. "Why do you hate The Many Dates of Danny Fenton?!" He shoved the microphone into his face as NeoMark scowled at him.
The authors reacted in various forms of shock and surprise at the merc's question as NeoMark scowled at him. This was the last thought on anyone's mind. Actually, it never crossed anyone's mind.
"I don't… you, on the other hand, I do right now." NeoMark said.
"Don't be dumb… you clearly hate it. Why else would you be trying to replace it with your own version? … one that admittedly already has more girls I care about like Sakura and Marinette." Deadpool said before turning his head to FP11. "No offense…"
"Some taken…" FP11 said with an annoyed look on her face.
"Dude… just because I like it doesn't mean I can't criticize it. I like Danny Phantom but I can still criticize stuff about it, and not just season 3. I think Splitting Images was the first bad episode of the series, after all."
"Fair enough…" FP11 said.
"Ah… but what about the fact that you've taken out characters she likes in favor of characters you like? She admits she never knew about Sakura, much less that she predated like 90% of the characters she used, but you took out the winner in favor of Street Fighter's most popular character… which is not an opinion but from an actual poll in case someone missed it before." Deadpool said.
NeoMark shrugged.
"Well… I can't just reuse everyone. I had to make it a note to keep 10, but be nice and use 5 to replace characters from their same shows, and add 15 new shows entirely." NeoMark said.
"He has a point. Otherwise, how many would read what would basically be the same story, only from a different perspective?" BCW asked.
"It'd probably be less interesting if Danny had the exact same dates with just slightly different results." Luiz4200 said. "Even if it'd be interesting if Danny never learned about how Cree feels about little kids."
"It'd be pretty redundant if he'd just done rewrites of all the 30 original dates." 61394 said.
"Look… I won't lie… there are some things about the original I think could've been improved…" NeoMark said.
"Like spelling brother as "by her" apparently…" Deadpool said.
"It was just ONE typo! Can you stop obsessing over that stupid thing already?!" Flower Princess11 shouted.
"See! Even she agrees with me!" Deadpool said.
"... anyway…" NeoMark said. "This is the year the story turns 5… I just figured a look into what it could've been had someone else wrote the story would have been a fun way since it's not like we can do a story set after that isn't him choosing a girl as it would've felt like a waste of time."
"So… you DON'T hate the original?" Deadpool asks.
"I'm heading 5 stories about dates! Granted… I only finished one and people are asking me for more on that… but still, if I hated it, why would I do that?" NeoMark questioned.
"He's not wrong." FP11 said.
"I agree. That's why I took on four and co-writing with another." BCW said.
"True." Luiz4200 said.
"Because you like putting a lot of work on yourself." 61394 said.
"Oh… so… okay…" Deadpool said, turning his head and looking out to the audience. "Okay folks… looks like Daytime with Deadpool is ending its first segment early today… before our first commercial break too. Remember to come in tomorrow, where Batman and Wonder Woman debate on raising their daughter from the Dark Multiverse… which is a real thing, look it up."
"No thanks." 61394 said. "Doesn't sound interesting."
"Exactly… now if it was my daughter with her…" Deadpool said in a knowing manner.
The room lit up, revealing that the audience was, in fact, cardboard cutouts of various crudely drawn people holding different scenes.
"Wow… he went all out." FP11 said.
"What do those say?" NeoMark asks.
"Let's see…" 61394 said as he held his hand over his eyes to get a clearer look. "It says… Neo, update Starfire and April already… Some requests for more girls to have dates in the dating service … and that you're… not sure if I should say what it says out loud since there's a lady present. And I'm not breaking her no dirty language rule."
"Thank you for that…" FP11 said.
"I noticed one says to put Bloom and Raven in the story as a date, and one that says...actually, I don't recognize that last one." BCW said.
"That's Emma from Degrassi." Deadpool said.
"Isn't she a live-action character?" FP11 said.
"There's one over there, one that's insisting on a Doctor Who character… even though he made Doctor Who a show in this world so they wouldn't be able to make an appearance as a character. Along with a de-aged Cassie Cage from Mortal Kombat and one of the girls of Power Rangers." Deadpool said.
"Oh… here we go again…" NeoMark groaned.
"Well… while we're talking about adding characters…" Two of the guest authors said in unison.
"Lydia from the Beetlejuice series, Kylie from Extreme Ghostbusters, and Raven from Teen Titans." BCW said.
"How about Chrissy from Groove Squad, Courtney from American Dragon: Jake Long, or Kimberly from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers?" Luiz4200 asked.
Seeing the author of this story looking displeased, the original author spoke up.
''Neo, what's wrong?" FP11 asks.
NeoMark groaned loudly before deciding to answer.
"Okay, I've gotten a LOT of requests, which is appreciated… but a lot of them… well… I know some people don't like the rules I established, namely the whole being born from the world of animation or needs an English voice. I understand, but I do that to help narrow down characters."
"I noticed a lot of people kept requesting live-action characters, even though you already wrote the rules on that. Speaking of which, is there a reason you won't put a live-action character here?" FP11 asks.
"I really like crossovers. I especially loved when cartoons had crossovers or guest characters from other works in their medium or medium of origin. That said… I think crossing over cartoon characters with live-action characters is… stupid. Did anyone want Spider-Man to meet the cast of Jessie? No? Those are two different shows of two different mediums with completely different audiences? Exactly! And yes, I agree Scooby-Natural was fun… because the concept was live-action characters getting turned into cartoon characters. So, no… I'm not putting live-action characters in here."
"I see…" FP11 said.
"That said, even if I didn't add these rules… characters from certain works like Doctor Who or Spider-Verse films… yeah, they would more than likely not be here. But why, you might ask. "Why would you not use characters from these other works? It's fanfiction, after all, you can throw a million works into this." You no doubt wonder."
"You're not wrong… there are a lot of options and you can only have so many for the 30 dates..." FP11 said.
"Because I prefer to keep things a bit easier to keep track of." NeoMark explained.
"Fair enough." FP11 said.
"Makes sense." Luiz4200 says.
"Before someone says it, I'll say it now. Yes, I know about works like Earth's Alien History… and it's one of the reasons I made the rules. I feel that's way too many different works to tie together, even if it worked in the end. It's also because I don't want to make too many shows or franchises that are too different from each to be super dependent or connected because I have no idea how the hell I can make Saiyans, Lorwardians and Viltrumites or whatever co-exist in a world where Danny Phantom, Kim Possible and Ben 10 co-exist too." NeoMark said.
"I like to do the same with the merged multidimensional history in the crossovers. It really helps. No one can say otherwise." BCW said.
"Dragon Ball's earth is too different from Danny's earth to plausibly combine it." 61394 said. "I haven't seen Invincible but there's too much of a rating difference between Danny's TV Y7 world and the MA gore bath of Invincible to put together."
"But there's also another thing I think a lot of people seem to forget about the original Many Dates of Danny Fenton. Namely, it's not like most crossover fanfiction."
"What do you mean?" BCW asks.
"See, a lot of crossover fanfiction… or crossovers in general… are usually about huge things. Ultimate clashes of good and evil, heroes clashing or coming together, the best of multiple worlds… but not here." NeoMark said.
"Yeah… I don't recall Anti-Monitor, Galactus or Unicron around…" Deadpool said, slowly looking at FP11.
"Knock it off, DP." FP11 said.
"Hey number boy, didn't you also have the fate of the multiverse on the line when Apocalypse showed up?" DP continued
"Just for a little bit." 61394 conceded. "Danny and Kitty's mostly been a love story with superheroes."
"No, the premise of The Many Dates of Danny Fenton is… Hey! What if instead of Sam, who… let's be honest Sam fans… is the most divisive character of the series, Danny met girls from other works on a blind date to see who he's compatible with? That's it… No multiverse destroying entity or event, no villains teaming up, no threat of worlds being forcibly brought together, no powerful weapon or artifact attracting people who have never met before… No, just getting this kid to meet other girls he doesn't know." NeoMark said.
"I'll keep this short." 61394 said. "I've probably been the nicest Many Dates author when it comes to Sam going off everything that CANONICALLY happened in the show. Danny and Sam are more like a crush than a serious end-all romance."
"So, with that in mind, I picked girls who could theoretically exist in his world. However, I also wanted to make sure this story retains a mostly light hearted story of a boy finding love in places he never looked before. I also didn't want him to be exposed to or get involved with planet or dimension level dangers. He's not going against powerful entities or encountering literal forces of hell or whatever. The body count here will be zero. These are small looks into other works for Danny, along with just a pleasant time without the major events of respective shows, movies or whatever becoming a big deal. But I also wanted just what that girl can do and what her personality is in full display without anything that makes the story or the universe more complicated than it needs to be. Characters you can actually picture just living a life in a world Danny lives and nothing more complicated is needed."
"That… is understandable. I guess." FP11 said.
"That's a refreshing perspective. I like it." BCW said in an understanding way.
"I still can hope for Polly Pocket, it seems." Luiz4200 said.
"I get it." 61394 said.
"So, in other words… The Doctor is not going to be involved in this story because he suspects one of his granddaughter's dates is secretly a Dalek. Phantom Girl is not going to use the time traveling of the Legion of Super Heroes to get a boyfriend from someone she read about in history books. The Gwen Stacy who gained spider powers is not going to make the leap into this universe just to go on a date. And do I even need to explain why the Power Rangers or characters from the Persona series or Mortal Kombat wouldn't work here? Yeah, sorry to rip off the band-aid of characters you were hoping to see… but I need to make it clear that this is essentially a romantic comedy and nothing more."
"Darn… there goes my suggestion to have all of them band together to fight an alien invasion…" Deadpool said in disappointment.
"As seen with Sakura, I will split off slightly from the theme. Not every character is from a cartoon series, but every character is someone who did not originate from live-action media." NeoMark explained.
"Alright, Neo. This is your fic and you do get the final say on who will appear here." FP11 said.
"We're here to support." BCW said.
"It's up to you man." 61394 agreed. "Personally, 30 dates is too much work for me. You're doing a great job."
"Please, begin the chapter." Luiz4200 says quickly. "Who will he date now?"
"Not just yet! We need to know something… namely… who is coming back?" Deadpool insisted.
"I may as well tell you one character who will be returning. This was one of the first characters I picked." NeoMark said.
"Oh yeah." BCW went as all of them gathered around NeoMark.
"Who is it?" Luiz4200 asks.
"Starfire from Teen Titans." NeoMark said.
This was everyone's reaction to hearing that.
"Why am I not surprised?..."FP11 said with a giggle.
"Knew it! Another redhead with green eyes..." Deadpool said in his usual way.
''That's not surprising." 61394 said with a shrug. "Like it wouldn't be surprising if a reincarnated princess from Jupiter and a kunoichi from New York made an appearance either."
"In spite of having been suggested to have Daphne for the day Tucker meets Velma, Woo-Hoo, Starfire!" Luiz4200 exclaimed.
BCW shrugged nonchalantly, smiling as he said nothing.
"I know a lot of people wanted me to go with Raven. However, you'll notice I have two stories about Danny and Starfire. I remember Raven being the go to pairing for Danny for years before I started writing… so I decided to keep her for this." NeoMark explained.
"Well, since I have a soft spot for Starfire, I can't exactly blame you for keeping her." FP11 said.
"Would you include Batgirl?" Luiz4200 asks.
"What about Stargirl, Wondergirl or Zatanna?" FP11 asks.
"So… sorry to rip off the band-aid here, but I can't. And before someone else suggests another DC character… Well, bare in mind Teen Titans doesn't seem to coexist with any other DC animated series. That's not the Robin from The Batman, Legion of Super Heroes is set in the future so there's no way of confirming a connection, and despite Roy Harper's appearance in Justice League Unlimited, that's not the same character."
"Yeah, Teen Titans' Robin isn't the same as DCAU's Robin." 61394 said. "They're different versions of Dick Grayson."
"Didn't Legion of Super Heroes appear in the DCAU?" BCW scratched his chin with a finger.
"Yes, but they had their own show unconnected to it. And it being from the future makes that hard to fit in." Deadpool answered.
"Yeah, it's kind of hard fitting someone else in… so I'm going to bring this up now. To have a little more variety, and encourage more creative choices, I'm limiting myself to one DC character and one Marvel character."
"Just one? Why?" FP11 asks.
"He means so he can add more video game characters… which I am all for!" Deadpool said.
"Okay… but before we all go… can you at least tell us who isn't returning since you only told us one who is?" FP11 asks.
"Supergirl? Batgirl? Kitty?" Luiz4200 asks.
"I've got my guesses." 61394 said.
"Well.. I guess it can't hurt…" NeoMark said.
"It'll hurt the audience who learns their favorite character isn't returning." Deadpool said.
"That's true…" FP11 said, almost fearing for NeoMark's life right now.
"First off… Cleo Setori. This might be a big surprise to those who didn't read the rules, but I will make this clear. Cleo was the first character on the chopping block of characters I decided to not use. Why? It's pretty simple… she's not an animated character. I asked Flower Princess11 about using the animated version for something… but then she said it was the live-action version." NeoMark said.
"It's true… I know she has an animated counterpart, but I was more familiar with the live action version of the character at the time." Flower Princess11 explained.
"And this is my story, with my rules, so… she's not here at all. I know someone's gonna say "But there's an animated version! You just said so!" True… and had it been the animated version, I would have put more of an effort into keeping her. But it wasn't… so, she's not staying. And for the record, I did consider her animated adaptation, but the characters I chose to keep were more interesting choices in my mind." NeoMark said.
"I honestly never saw the series proper...that might be a good point." BCW said.
"Who's next?" 61394 asks.
"The next characters who were on that chopping block I'm going to bring up together as it's for the same reason. Kitty Pryde and Barbara Gordon."
"NNOOOOOO!" Luiz4200 and 61394 went in unison.
61394 blinked in confusion
"Why did I just do that?" He asked out loud.
"Because you're insane?" Deadpool suggested
"Probably." 61394 conceded
"Now, why would I remove these two? Is it because I hate them? No. Far from it… it's because… well… they're not specific versions of the characters from any animated media. That's not the Kitty from either X-Men: Evolution or Wolverine and the X-Men. That's not the Batgirl of the DCAU, The Batman, Batman: The Brave and Bold, Young Justice, the video game or anything. Heck, that's not even the version of Barbara Gordon from Beware the Batman. I made it clear, they had to be specific versions of them from animated media. Also, you may have noticed I replaced Kara Kent with Sakura Kasugano from Street Fighter, as video games are animated media. So, with that in mind, I may as well let you know they will be replaced by other video game characters. Video games were not at all represented in the original. But, as a gamer myself, I will rectify that with video game characters as dates. I'm also reminding you that, because I want to add more variety, I'm limiting myself to one DC character and one Marvel character."
"This is gonna hurt nerds everywhere more than I thought… let's go!" Deadpool said, taking out some popcorn and shoveling it into his mouth.
"Are you gonna share that?" 61394 asks.
"I gave you your Krabby Patty…" Deadpool said, still eating.
"Eating is a character trait of my author self." 61394 answered, pulling a box of Mike and Ikes from nowhere. "Fine, don't share."
"How do you do that?" Deadpool asked
"Pretty sure I explained it in a chapter of Many Kids of Danny Fenton." 61394 said.
"Now, onto the 7 who didn't have to be cut but were anyway." NeoMark said.
"I'm guessing Sabrina is one of them…" Luiz4200 said, wanting but not hoping to be wrong.
"Can't wait to see whose fans are gonna get angry." BCW said.
"We'll start with Debbie Thornberry. Yeah… she's getting cut. Why? Well, it's a perfectly simple reason… I find her kind of boring. I know the Wild Thornberrys have their fans, I was one of them. However, when it comes to that series… Let's be honest, the best character was Nigel."
"Yes, he was." Everyone else said.
"Compared to him and Eliza's whole talking to animals thing… Debbie wasn't nearly as interesting to watch. So, I know she has her fans but… sorry, I had to cut her out."
"Well, like I said, it's your final call on who gets chosen for the dates in this fic." FP11 said.
"For those same reasons, going off track here as I want to do them in order, I will not be using Daria Morgendorffer. I know Flower Princess11 really wanted to do her story and really wanted to use her… problem is I don't watch Daria. In fact, I only know of her personality from clips or memes posted on the internet. I also don't really see much to work with her. I know FP11 really wanted to write about her someday but… yeah, I can't get behind you here. Sorry, she's getting the cut."
"Well, I can't expect everyone to know all about each character I chose in the original." FP11 said.
"Next is Gwen from Total Drama. I will be using a different Total Drama character over her for two reasons. 1) She shared a name with a past date. I know Jen and Jenny are both short versions of Jennifer… but neither of them went by that name. Gwen Tennyson did go by Gwendolyn… at school, but is fine with Gwen in public. So, that was reason 1. 2) … she's too much like Sam. And no, this isn't a Sam rant… it's just that Total Drama had a whole bunch of teen stereotypes on display. Surfer girl, mean girl, nerdy girl… and that was just the original cast. So… why use someone who is super similar to someone he already knows? Isn't the point here to have him meet girls who are different from who he usually interacts with?" NeoMark questioned.
"I see your point. I just chose Gwen because, at the time, I liked her character during the first season of that show." FP11 said.
"I've got no opinions." 61394 said quickly.
"So, I know the TDI Gwen has her fans… but she's not making it. And speaking of fans… yeah, time to acknowledge the elephant in the room… Katie Ka-Boom. She's not gonna show up in here."
The ground suddenly shook.
"What was that?" BCW said.
"Earthquake?" FP11 asks.
"No… I sense a great disturbance in the internet, as if countless fans angrily unfavorited and unfollowed this story." 61394 said, somehow looking like Alec Guinness from A New Hope.
"Katie didn't like being excluded." Luiz4200 said.
"I can already hear what people are going to type. "WAIT! YOU CAN'T DO THAT! KATIE WAS THE BIG BREAKOUT CHARACTER OF THE ORIGINAL STORY! WHY WOULD YOU NOT INCLUDE HER?!" Well… it's simple."
"Oh… this oughta be good." BCW said.
"Yep." 61394, the author of her story, said.
"These days, Katie has a soft spot in people's hearts… thanks to Flower Princess11 using her in the original and in her own story, Goin' Kaboom. But back then? Those stories didn't exist, so she didn't have a fanbase. Also… let's be real here. How many people knew of her before the original? How many are fans of Animaniacs and not Danny Phantom who know of her? And how many of them actually liked her before that story? I'll give you a hint… not as many. Yeah, Katie is one of the least popular characters from Animaniacs. She appeared in like 2 or 3 shorts in the comics, cameos in Wakko's Wish… but had a handful of skits. Why was she not popular? She was created to be an allegory for girls going through periods, true story. And guess what? Most people… didn't find her funny. A girl who turned into a reality defying monster for the flimsiest of reasons and terrifies her parents, believe it or not, wasn't very funny for most people. So, unfortunately, since this is a parallel world where someone else wrote this story, Katie is still known only for being next to the hippos as the least loved Animanics' characters… so, she's not making it."
"Yeah. Honestly, I didn't know who Katie was before the original story." 61394, the author of Danny and Katie's love story, admitted
Deadpool pulled a remote out of nowhere that played a recording of a crowd gasping.
"How unbelievable!" Deadpool went.
"Oh, don't be so shocked. I already admitted that in LockandKey989s spinoff of Danny and Barbara." 61394 said, rolling his eyes at Deadpool's antics "But yeah, moving on from Deadpool being a ham… I didn't know about Katie before I read the actual chapter in the original story. The title made me worry the kaboom was literal and not a pun."
"Well, I will admit that at the time, I didn't expect her to become so popular. I originally chose her because I thought we needed a "funny" bad date for Danny to go through at the time." FP11 said.
"Well, I'm not very fond of Katie so it doesn't bother me that she won't appear." Luiz4200 said.
"Kinda makes sense…I think." BCW said.
"Ginger Foutley of As Told By Ginger… yeah she's not making it."
"Why did you cut her?" Luiz4200 asked.
"First reason? Want to break the mold that I favor redheads. Another reason? I don't really know her well enough. I am totally fine with doing research on characters… but Ginger isn't one I am really that interested in. Probably because I felt the designs were too… inhuman, I guess? But also because I don't think she works well with Danny Phantom."
"Well, as I said, it's your story and you give the okay." FP11 said.
"Spectra Vondergeist of Monster High. Okay, I will admit, I am thinking of a Monster High character since that franchise has been tied to Nickelodeon for years and I do want to use a toy-based series… but I know nothing about Monster High so please send me suggestions to use besides Spectra. Why am I not using her? … I'll be honest, I only know of two characters from that series, Draculaura, because she's the breakout character, and Frankie Stein, because she was voiced by Kate Higgins and Cassandra Lee, two of my favorite voice actresses. Spectra only stood out to me for one reason… her first name is a villain's last name… that's it. Sorry, but that's the only thing about her that stands out to me so I have to use another character."
"Well, like I said, it's your choice." FP11 said.
"I've got no strong opinions on Monster High so either way it's your call." 61394 said.
"Might I suggest Frankie, Draculaura, or Clawdeen to replace Spectra?" BCW asked.
"Here comes number 10." 61394 said.
"And finally… Black Cat from 2017's Spider-Man cartoon. So… you might have thought I'd keep her as she's a well known comic character."
"I would have thought that too." FP1 said.
"But… get this, she's actually the second character I cut from the original."
"Then why not say she was cut in that order?" BCW questioned.
"Why?" Luiz4200 asks.
"There are actually numerous reasons why, which is why I saved her for later."
"Here it comes…" Deadpool said, eager to see reactions.
"1) She's more than likely NOT a teenager. Given the way she was drawn, the way she acted and how Grey Delisle voiced her, I think she was more than likely an adult."
"Well...her age in the show was never outright stated. I had to guess her age, admittedly." FP11 said.
"Given she showed no romantic interest in Spider-Man, and there's no way Disney would have allowed a grown woman to hit on a teeanger, I think it's safe to say she's too old. 2) That series was too recent. By the time the story started, that show reached its second season. How many episodes did she appear in? 2. Meaning she never joined Horizon High, never had a thing with Spidey, and played no major roles. This is why I insisted on plenty of appearances, as to avoid guesses or assumptions on what was to happen to them. Literally, her final appearance was before the first story… at the start of season 2 of a 3 season series."
"Two. She showed up in two episodes." 61394 stated. "And in the second one she stole the money from a hotdog eating contest, not exactly a criminal mastermind."
"Too old?" BCW searched his mind. "Wasn't she as tall as Spider-Man? That would at least put her in the same age range, granted that's not a fact. However, I figured Disney was against her character, or the writers did not know what to do with her."
"Well, I will admit that while I used that incarnation of the character, I added some elements from her other incarnations too since I had little to work with at the time." FP11 answered.
"3) Most important… the 2017 Spider-Man cartoon… *ahem* … is the most underwhelming Spider-Man cartoon ever. I know you think "Neo! That's a bold statement. How could you POSSIBLY force your own opinion here?" I'm not… look around. How many people are swinging, pun not intended, praise onto this for story, character, art direction or anything?"
"Yeah… that series isn't hated… but it's not exactly held on a high pedestal." Deadpool said.
"Yeah...That's a given...I could barely rewatch it for facts while writing the side story." BCW added with a shake of his head.
"Really?" Luiz4200 asks.
"I rank it third of the Spider-Man series I've seen after the 90s Spider-Man and Spectacular." 61394 said. "I think it's fine but third isn't saying when the ones below it are Spider-Man and his Amazing friends and Ultimate Spider-Man, which I wasn't a big fan of even before I knew about Drake Bell."
"And before you say "yeah, but that's just looking at the show in hindsight now that it's over"... except most of this came when the show was airing. Heck, I even questioned using a character from that series as it was airing. I know I said I had to use Leni and Marinette because they were "the new hotness" around that time... but the 2017 Spider-Man was far from what I would call "hotness"... more like the new "lukewarmness" at the time."
"Heh…" Deadpool said.
"Fair." 61394 said.
"What do YOU think of it, Neo?" FP11 asks.
"My opinion overall though on its quality? Painfully average. The only reason it's not the worst Spider-Man cartoon, Disney or otherwise, is because none of the characters filled me with as much rage as Nova from Ultimate Spider-Man. And before someone suggests I use that series… No, we are not using characters from that one. And yes, that one IS my opinion at work. I try not to be opinionated on shows as much as possible here but… yeah… no thanks. I would not feature Ultimate Spider-Man even without the controversy surrounding Drake Bell, it was just not a great series in general with bad writing, humor and casting decisions… like the aforementioned lead role. The only way I would feature it is if I could kill off Nova in painful, gruesome and humiliating ways in every chapter like Kenny from South Park… if Kenny were as awful a person as Cartman.
"Yeah… you hate that series… ESPECIALLY Nova." Deadpool said.
"Yeah, Nova was annoying…" 61394 said.
"So… what about other characters from the 2017 cartoon? Gwen? Anya? Keemia?" FP11 asks.
"Who's Keemia?" 61394 asked.
"Sandman's awful, idiot daughter…" Deadpool answered.
"How about Ms. Marvel?" BCW said.
"So, will I use someone else from that series? No. Why? Simple… I just said it was painfully average, even at the time. Why would I use anyone from that series when there's literally hundreds of other characters that make more sense to use and are from much better works?"
"I see… but at least there's other Marvel characters to use, right?" FP11 asks.
"Also, I may as well bring this up now… I am all for the suggestions for characters you and the readers have all sent, love 'em… but I'm gonna have to ask you guys to stop sending Marvel characters."
"Huh? Why would you not want suggestions?" FP11 asks.
"Why? Not because I think they're bad ideas, far from it. It's just that, as I said, I'm limiting the cast to one DC character and one Marvel character. I've already said Starfire is our DC character, and I already have a Marvel character in mind, who is from a WAY better series than the 2017 Spider-Man, so, neither Black Cat nor anyone there is gonna make it."
"Ok." Luiz4200 said.
"I've got no idea what you're planning but I'm curious…" 61394 said quickly.
"Can't wait to see where this goes." BCW said.
"Well… slightly disappointed they're not appearing, but I am curious to see who you're using in their place." FP11 said.
"I may as well spoil a bit of what's to come… I'm also considering a character from Milo Murphy's Law, but I'm stuck between Sara or Melissa. Also, I know people asked for Kimiko from Xiaolin Showdown… but FP11 suggested that I use a villainous character… so I considered Katnappe. So, like with Monster High, I'm open to suggestions on which of them would work." NeoMark said.
"Are you asking us or the audience?" FP11 asks.
"Both."
After a moment, 61394 shrugged.
"I'm good. I'm more interested in watching what you'll do pal."
"As much of a RaiKim fan I am, I suggest Kimiko. Katnappe is merely another Black Cat and Tucker would be jealous of Danny for dating a girl whose father owns a game company. As for Monster High, I suggest Clawdeen." Luiz4200 said.
"Well… we'll think about it. For now… I think it's best we all go." FP11 said.
"Sure, this has been fun but I've got places to be people to see food to eat and chaos to cause." 61394 said. "To whatever audience is watching Wades most recent psychotic breakdown, so long, farewell,auf vedersein, adieu, byeeeeeeee." 61394 said with a wave before disappearing
"How'd he do that?" FP11 asks.
"Must've learned from Batman." Luiz4200 said before leaving.
"I bid you all a good day." BCW said, following him.
"Well… I guess I should go too… take care." FP11 said.
"Okay." NeoMark said.
However, FP11 then walked back to him.
"You sure you won't consider putting Daria or Katie in there? Or, maybe consider Courtney Whitmore? She's someone I didn't put in the original…" FP11 said.
"In order… no, no… maybe but my rules make her unlikely." NeoMark said flatly.
"Got it." FP11 said before leaving.
NeoMark groaned before walking back to his office.
"Finally…" He said as he took the remote Deadpool was using.
"Oh? Time to get back to work?" Deadpool asks, appearing before him.
NeoMark scowled at him before looking at the remote and shrugging.
"Actually… I could use a break from this. Anyone wanna play Smash Ultimate?"
Suddenly, the other authors appeared.
"I'm in!" FP11 said.
"Count me in!" BCW went.
"Dibs on Link!" 61394 appeared again with a controller.
"I wanna be Mario!" Luiz4200 said.
"AWESOME!" Deadpool said.
"Not you." NeoMark said with a scowl.
"Boo! [insert obscenities]!" Deadpool went before storming off.
"After this, we'll see who's next, right?" FP11 asked.
"Yeah, start the chapter after this, please." Luiz4200 said. "I'd love to know who Danny's next date is."
"As do I!" Deadpool said.
"Fine… here we go…" NeoMark said.
