A Girl From Gravity Falls
Danny eventually made it home, managing to get to his bed and lay down.
"Well, that date was a bust..." Danny muttered, the memory of how chaotic his experience with Star Butterfly was replaying in his head.
As pretty as she was, as well as showing no malice whatsoever, Star's irresponsible and chaotic use of magic was a bit of a turn down for him.
However, it wasn't enough to sour his mood as Cree had, as he hoped this next date would redeem his decision to stay on the program.
"I wonder if Tucker is back from his date yet..." Danny said as he checked his phone and saw no new messages .
That's when he decided to call.
"Hello?" Tucker was heard asking on the other end.
"Hi Tuck..." Danny said.
"Hey Danny, how was your blind date tonight?" Tucker asked.
"Eh… a 5 at best." Danny grumbled.
"Really? Who'd you get? What happened?" Tucker asked, wanting details.
"Well, Star wasn't a bad girl, but sh-"
"Wait, Star?! Paulina's satellite?! You went out with her?! So jealous!" Tucker went.
"I wish… wrong Star, dude. Right hair color, wrong eye color… and personality. Her name is Star Butterfly." Danny said.
"Oh." Tucker went.
"She's… fine… just kind of… reckless and irresponsible." Danny said.
"Sounds rough… but at least she's not like the last bad date you had." Tucker said.
"True. She's not the worst… but hardly someone I want a second date with." Danny said.
"Well, my date is probably getting a 5 too." Tucker explained. "Her name is Janna and… she's kind of trouble."
"How so?" Danny asks.
"I'd rather not say… but just to let you know, I may change this number." Tucker explained in a hush tone.
"Uhh…" Danny went, unsure how to respond.
"Which reminds me… I gotta hang up now. I kind of… need to do something." Tucker said in a strange way before hanging up.
Danny raised an eyebrow.
What did this girl put him through to make him like this? He wondered before logging on to his computer.
"Let's see..." He muttered as he began to read the contents of his date's profile.
User Name: Wild Wendy
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Height: 5"6'
Weight: 118 lbs
Home Town: Gravity Falls
Physical Description: Slender redhead with fair skin, freckles and green eyes.
Personality: I am a cool, laid back, fun loving individual...a bit of a tomboy but that doesn't mean I don't want a nice guy and some romance here and there.
Likes and Interests: Hanging out, reading magazines, flannel, relaxing and just having fun.
Type of person I wish to date: I am just looking for a nice guy who is honest with me and I can have a good time with.
Danny re-read the contents of the profile. He hoped whoever this was would be less chaotic than Star.
He saw that their date is going to be at some place called Greasy's Diner for lunch tomorrow.
'Weird…" Danny muttered as he read the directions to said place with a shrug. In a minute, he yawned and soon went to sleep, still wondering what tomorrow will bring.
A knock at the door alerted NeoMark and Deadpool.
"It's open." NeoMark said.
Inside came an author. Specifically, the author of Danny and Wendy, and he did not look happy.
"Hey folks, it's BatGuy01! The guy who pestered me into making Doctor Who be a thing in his story because he's an obsessive nerd just like the rest of these children in adult bodies!" Deadpool went cheerily.
BatGuy01 glared at him for that crack.
"You're somehow more annoying when NeoMark writes you…" BatGuy01 said.
"Yup. So, what's with the scowl when you entered?" Deadpool went.
"Oh, I just came to see why someone wrote "Snyderverse fans are awesome" on my car with a key, then I saw you… and I connected the two…" BatGuy01 said, trying to stay calm.
"He did what?" NeoMark asks before glaring at Deadpool. "You were supposed to invite him!"
"What better way to get a guy's attention than to cause visible damage to a vehicle that'll cost a lot of money to fix?" Deadpool asks cheerfully.
"A lot of ways…" Both authors said in unison.
"Anyway, I've decided to come to your... um... viewing of this remake of my very first chapter in a sense because I needed to remind myself that I'm the writer of "Danny and Wendy" and probably need to write for it again." BatGuy then sighed bitterly. "Writing and reading for Infinity Crisis can be fun and addicting. Besides, I thought I kind of owed NeoMark a favor for drawing me those two commissions. First of Danny and Wendy with the Tenth Doctor and the second one being Infinity Crisis related to the Eighth Doctor and his companions in that story, Captain Carter and her Steve Rogers. But now let's have some fun. Pass me the Dibs please."
"Dibs? You mean popcorn?" NeoMark asks.
"No, I meant Dibs. You know, those ice cream cube things. Whenever I go to movies, I prefer those over popcorn."
"Oh those. Sure…" Deadpool said as BatGuy took a seat.
The Next Day
At Greasy's Diner, 12:00pm.
Danny had arrived at a town known as Gravity Falls after an hour of non stop flying. He quickly landed behind the restaurant after seeing that no one was there. He changed back, went to the front entrance, and made sure his heart sticker was on and that his hair and clothes were decent enough.
"I made it…" Danny said as he glanced at his watch.
It was already 12:02pm and his date still isn't here yet. He figured she was just running late.
Suddenly he saw a teenage girl appear and Danny noticed her heart sticker. He also noticed her appearance. Just like her profile said, she is a slender teenage girl with freckles, long red hair and green eyes. He also noticed that she dressed rather casually for their date, not unlike him since this is supposed to be a diner.
"Hey…" The girl said upon meeting him in a relaxed tone of voice.
"Hello...You must be Wild Wendy..." Danny said upon greeting her.
"You can just call me Wendy. So, I am guessing that you are D-Fenton." Wendy said.
"Please, just call me Danny. These are for you…" Danny said as he handed her the flowers.
"Thanks…" Wendy said simply.
Danny was about to offer to open the door for her, but Wendy already opened it herself and turned to him, with a cool, laid back look on her face.
"Come on, I know a good table where we can sit…" Wendy said as she went inside.
Danny blinked but smiled despite himself as he soon followed her inside to start their blind date.
However, he was unaware that somebody had been spying on them from a distance as they entered the Greasy Diner.
"Let's see who this guy is…"
"So?" NeoMark asks.
"So… what?" Batguy asks.
"Sorry, this is usually the part of the chapter where the guest author asks why a character is returning or replaced." NeoMark said.
"Okay then, why?"
"Oh… well… to answer anyone who is about to ask. I kept Wendy because A) She's a character I also wanted to write for, and B) Gravity Falls was a big deal not just for Disney and for animation in general. So, we had to have her make a return." NeoMark said.
"That's true, Gravity Falls is one of the shows that helped the early 2010's with better quality in animated programs." Deadpool said.
"Plus, it does a good job at balancing story arcs and one episode plot." BatGuy said before eating a jelly bean that caused him to gag and spit it out. "UGH! That tasted like mucus!"
NeoMark raised an eyebrow before he took one and tasted it, spitting it out.
"Aluminum?" He asks before looking at the cup of treats. "Wait a minute… these are those every flavored beans from the Harry Potter series!" NeoMark said in anger.
Both Neo and BatGuy glared at Deadpool, who shrugged with a joyful look on his face.
"You might be wondering how I got those. I can't tell names… but it does rhyme with "fake-o ball toy". Because I found his dirty secret. Let's just say he doesn't hate Hermione as much as he wants to admit…" Deadpool said cheerily.
Both authors shared the same unamused look.
"Any chance you can have the Tardis land on him in your story?" Neo asks.
"Consider it done. And to make things easier for your writing, I'll let use a Modern Who Doctor, like say 10 or 11." BatGuy said.
"Thanks." Neo said.
"Really, good to know you're a sort of Harry Potter fan. In fact, the fic that inspired me to become a writer was a Harry Potter fic. Well, a mega crossover that was mainly Harry Potter and Marvel titled "Child of the Storm"."
"I heard of that one… I'll check it out… at some point." Neo said.
Inside
Danny and Wendy were soon seated and the waitress, Lazy Susan, quickly came to take their orders.
Wow… what happened to her eye? He thought, choosing not to voice that.
"Hey, Wendy. What will it be?" She asked as she held her notepad.
"The usual, Lazy Susan…" Wendy said.
"And what will you be having, mister?" Lazy Susan asked.
"Um..." Danny glanced at the menu and shrugged, deciding to just go with the first one on it. "I'll have a burger."
"Alright-y..." Lazy Susan said with a hearty laugh as she wrote it down before something got her attention.
Danny saw that a woodpecker was pecking at the door.
Why is she looking at that bird? He that as he noticed Lazy Susan didn't look pleased.
"You! I told you to stay out!" Lazy Susan said as she ran after to get rid of the bird.
Danny saw this and shrugged, figuring that he has seen weirder stuff in his days. He then turned his attention to Wendy.
"So Wendy, why don't you tell me all about yourself?" Danny asked.
"Well...not much to know about...I'm 15, I go to Gravity Falls High School, I work part time at a place called the Mystery Shack. I live with my dad and my three brothers and I basically just like chilling..." Wendy answered in a cool voice.
"What are your hobbies and interests?" Danny asked.
"Eh, I mostly just like reading a good magazine, taking a good nap but at times I hang out with my friends. Music and stuff like that…" She said in a pretty lazy way.
"What about you?" Wendy asked.
"Well, I'm 14. I live in Amity Park and go to Casper High. I don't have a job per say." Danny said.
Seeing as I don't get paid for fighting ghosts… but I could always use them for deliveries. He thought.
"Lucky...I wish that I didn't have to have my job...' Wendy said, making Danny chuckle at what she just said.
"Funny. Anyway, I mostly just like playing video games, bowling and I have an interest in Astronomy and NASA…" Danny said.
"Cool." Wendy said with a calm tone.
Danny smiled in relief.
Unlike some of his dates he has been on so far, Wendy seems really relaxed and laid back.
Wow… after the chaos with Star, this is actually nice and calm. Plus, she's kind of pretty, even with the lumberjack look. He thought.
Soon, Lazy Susan came back with their orders. Danny took his hamburger but he noticed a large platter filled with various kinds of foods on it for Wendy.
'Thanks Susan…" Wendy said as she smirked at her large meal, only to notice the expression on Danny's face. "What?"
"Um...nothing…" Danny said.
"What, you surprised that a girl eats this much? "Wendy asked sarcastically, knowing what it was about.
"Well, not really… but you are really thin..." Danny said.
"Thanks for the compliment but I think I should clear something up here before we go any further..." Wendy said.
"Uh, sure...'Danny questioned, wondering where this is going.
"I know we are on a blind date and the object of this is for us to get to know each other, to see if we can be compatible or not, right?" Wendy asked, waiting until Danny nodded before continuing. "Well, you're getting to know me. I'll tell you right now that I'm not some kind of diet obsessed, boy band worshiping little doll that wears makeup like a suit of armor. I'm just Wendy and if I want to eat, I'll eat…" Wendy said with a shrug as she ate her own meal.
Danny blinked in surprise and despite himself, he found himself smiling at how she wasn't afraid to be honest about who she is.
"I can respect that..."Danny said.
"Good, because that earned you a little bit of my own respect…" Wendy said as Danny chuckled.
The two teens then began to eat their lunches.
"So far so good?" Neo asks.
"Yeah it is." BatGuy said.
"Still waiting on the changes." Deadpool said.
"Be thankful we don't throw you out after that little stunt." Neo said with a scowl.
"Eww, I think those jelly beans are still stuck to my teeth." BatGuy said in agreement with Neo.
"Shh shh… it's not paused." Deadpool went, ignoring their scowls.
"That's cool. It must be interesting living in the big city and not a weird little small town like Gravity Falls…"Wendy quipped, which made Danny chuckle.
She does have a way with words… Danny thought, feeling quite relaxed.
Wendy is actually pretty cool and with a life as stressful as his own, hanging out with someone like her is a nice breath of fresh air. He didn't feel any pressure from her and she seems honest, and he can always respect a girl like that.
"You seem really cool Wendy and I am wondering... Why you signed up for this service?" Danny asked.
"I saw the flier and I figured, why not...I'm currently not attached and I thought it would be fun. What about you?" She asked.
"Well, my best friend wanted to try it and he talked me into doing it too.." Danny said, making Wendy smile in amusement.
The two teens continued to eat but Danny couldn't help but get the strangest feeling about something.
Okay… my ghost sense didn't go off, so it's not a ghost… but I still feel like someone's watching me.
He then saw a movement outside, but it went away.
"Huh?" 'Danny muttered.
'What's wrong?" 'Wendy asked after munching on her fourth piece of chicken.
"I...It's silly but I thought I felt somebody watching us…" Danny muttered.
"Hey...loosen up a little Danny...we're just two teenagers eating cheap food at a lame diner in the middle of nowhere...who'd want to watch us?" Wendy said sarcastically, making Danny laugh in relief.
"You're right…" Danny said.
Unknown to Danny, just about a few tables away, two pairs of eyes were on him and Wendy. One filled with distrust and the other with disinterest. Those being Dipper and Mabel Pines.
"Let's skip a bit now." Neo said.
"Really? The part where Danny confronts Dipper. In fact, things seem to be still the same as when FP11 wrote it 5 years ago." BatGuy said.
"It's actually sooner in that. Go to her asking about places to visit." Neo said.
"What's new in this version?" Deadpool asks.
"As I've said numerous times… wait and see." Neo said as Deadpool fast-forwarded the scene.
"Okay, so if you could win a trip to any place in the world, where would you go?" Wendy asked after taking a sip of her soda.
"Well, that's easy: the Kennedy Space center. .." Danny said without a moment's hesitation.
"You really into this Space stuff, huh?" Wendy commented.
"It's been my dream for as long as I can remember. I tell you, one of these days I'm going to go up there..." Danny said with a hopeful look on his face.
"Well, I wish you luck...Captain Fenton." Wendy said with a smirk.
She's the second pretty girl to act like I'm joining Starfleet. He thought in amusement.
"What about you?" Danny asked, finding that he enjoys conversing with her.
"Well...at the risk of sounding cliché and unoriginal, I'd say Hawaii..." Wendy quipped, making Danny laugh.
"I'm sorry but I say you're an original all by itself..." Danny commented.
"Thanks..." Wendy said, showing off a cute smile.
Danny smiled before taking some fries to eat. However, an old man appeared, a barefoot man with a bucket that was full of pancakes.
"Old man McGucket...eating from a bucket!" The old man laughed before shoving all those pancakes in his mouth while laughing loudly and dancing around the diner.
"Um..." Danny sent a questioning look to Wendy.
"Oh, don't worry. That's just Old Man McGucket. He might be a little off but he's harmless..." Wendy said as the old man danced a jig before ordering more pancakes.
Danny blinked before he shrugged, deciding to take her word for it.
"Eh. I've seen weirder..." Danny admitted.
As he said this, he didn't notice another strange figure entering, one wearing a trench coat and glancing at Wendy.
"That's her…" This figure said in a whisper.
"Huh… this is new." Deadpool said.
"David Tennant? But with an American accent?" BatGuy asked.
Neo was about to answer, but Deadpool raised a finger.
"Let me guess… wait and see?" He asks.
Neo rolled his eyes before nodding.
Back With Dipper and Mabel
"Dipper, it's been over half an hour. I don't think he's anything dangerous... and I'm bored!" Mabel whined.
"Mabel, please..." Dipper hushed her as he discreetly used the binoculars to spy on his target.
"At least let me have a turn and look..." Mabel said, demanding the binoculars.
With a sigh, Dipper handed them to his sister. Mabel looked through them.
"Well?" Dipper asks.
"He looks like a normal guy Dipper. A cute, normal guy too..." Mabel said.
"He's not that cute..." Dipper said, muttering in jealousy.
Suddenly Mabel gasped loudly, getting his attention.
"Oh my gosh!" Mabel said.
"What is it? Is Wendy's date some kind of paranormal creature that she needs me to save her from?" Dipper asked in a hopeful tone.
"No, a momma duck is outside, with 7 of her cute little ducklings..." Mabel said in excitement as she ran outside, forgetting the mission all together.
"Mabel!" Dipper shouted as he ran after her since she still had the binoculars.
However, the little brunette boy ended up tripping right in front of the table where Wendy and her blind date were at, getting their attention.
"Dipper?" Wendy said.
Dipper looked flustered as he stood up with a nervous look on his young face.
"Oh...Hi Wendy...uh...what are you doing here?" Dipper asked, trying to save himself.
"I'm on my blind date..." Wendy said. "Dipper, this is Danny Fenton. Danny, this is Dipper Pines, his great uncle runs the Mystery Shack where I work at..." Wendy said, introducing the two males.
"Hi Dipper, it's nice to meet you..." Danny said in a friendly way as he held out his hand.
Dipper glared at him and reluctantly took his hand, only because Wendy was watching..
"Good afternoon..." Dipper muttered.
Danny blinked in confusion, wondering about the lack of friendly reception from the kid he just met.
"Danny's from Amity Park. You know, the place is rumored to be haunted." Wendy said.
"I see..." Dipper said, still glaring at Danny.
What is with this kid? Danny thought.
Wendy reached for her soda, only to accidentally spill it over her shirt.
"Oh man..." Wendy said in frustration.
"Here Wendy..." Danny said as he handed her some napkins, but they did little to help.
"I'll be back in a minute...I got to get this stain off...watch my food for me..." Wendy said as she left for the ladies room.
Leaving Danny alone with Dipper.
"So...you and Wendy are friends..." Danny questioned.
"Yeah...and I care about her very much..." Dipper said as he continued to glare, something Danny noticed.
"Uh, is there something I can help you with?" Danny asked sarcastically.
"Actually yes...I was wondering if you would answer some questions for me..." Dipper said in a serious tone.
"Uh...sure..." Danny said after blinking.
"Are you really from Amity Park?" Dipper asked.
"Yes, I am..." Danny said, wondering what this is about.
"That's a pretty long commute...how exactly did you manage to get here?" Dipper asked suspiciously.
"I took the bus..." Danny lied.
"Really?" Dipper asked in a blatantly suspicious tone of voice.
"Really..." Danny said, keeping his best poker face on.
Before Dipper could continue with his interrogation, Wendy came back to the table, with the stain finally removed from her shirt.
"Finally. So, what I'd miss?" She asked.
Before Dipper could lie, the figure in the trench coat approached Wendy.
"Excuse me. Are you… Candy?" The figure asks.
"Uh… it's Wendy." She answered, not liking his presence.
"Oh… Wendy… neat." The figure went.
Dipper soon found his attention on this figure, making a face of recognition.
"Wait a minute… you sound… awfully familiar." He went, inching closer with a suspicious look.
"Uh… uhh…" The figure went before groaning. "Oh forget this… Grab her!"
That's when the figure grabbed Wendy and carried her out of the diner.
"Hey! Let me go!" Wendy demanded.
Danny was shocked, though noticed people were not paying attention.
"Uh… a girl just got kidnapped and they're sitting still?" He asks.
"Welcome to Gravity Falls! Stay here! It's safer!" Dipper went as he ran after Wendy and her kidnapper.
Mabel slowly followed.
"Hi, I'm Mabel, his sister." She said to Danny before walking off.
Danny blinked before shaking his head.
"Stay here? Yeah right…"
He headed to the bathroom, deciding to go ghost. Once he was gone Lazy Susan noticed the table was empty.
"Dine and dash again, eh? Those scamps…" She said with a hearty smile.
With Wendy
The figure carried her to the woods, a specific location she was familiar with. She was let down.
"Finally! Now who's the creep in that thing? Is it you, Robbie?" She questioned, pulling the coat off.
To her shock, it wasn't her ex, but something else.
"Uh… hi. I'm Jeff." The figure at the top said.
It was 10 gnomes.
"I'm being kidnapped by elves?" Wendy asks.
"Gnomes, actually… don't compare us to them, we're legit bigoted towards them." Jeff explained.
"Shmebulock!" One gnome who serves as the left food said.
"He's not wrong, that's your thing, not ours." Another gnome said.
"Shut it!" Jeff snapped before redirecting his attention to Wendy. "So… you may be wondering… what's a bunch of gnomes doing here? Well, I thought perhaps that for our new queen, we go with you since you're easier to be around than the Northwest girl. After our last choice was a miss, well, that we needed a taller, more mature, and, heck, a woman more familiar with the forest. So… what do you say?" Jeff asks as he holds out a ring. "Would you join me… in holy matri-gnomey? Matrimony! Bleh! I did it again!"
Wendy stared for a moment with an incredulous look on her face.
"No." She said flatly.
Suddenly, and very quickly, Dipper and Mabel caught up, both blocking Wendy from Jeff and his gnomes.
"Forget it, Jeff! You're not taking Wendy!" Dipper stated.
"Yeah! Find some nice lady gnomes!" Mabel went.
"You have no idea how hard it is to meet lady gnomes in this day and age…" Jeff grumbled. "Still… we're not leaving unti-"
That's when a black and white figure flew in, tackling the gnomes in their human-shaped stance and flying deeper into the woods.
This left the Pines twins and Wendy staring in confusion.
"Uh… what just happened?" Mabel asks.
"One of those supers? Man, we don't have any of those out here." Wendy questioned and commented.
Dipper took a moment to realize he recognized what he saw.
Elsewhere
Most of the gnomes were unconscious on the ground, others ran away, but one in particular was held by the beard by Danny Phantom.
"Okay… I have no idea how your species works, but you're not marrying any minors." Danny warned.
Jeff's legs were kicking in the air, trying to swing out of Danny's grasp but to no avail.
"Okay! Okay!" He went.
With that, Danny let go of Jeff's beard, letting him fall on his rear.
"Now get out of here!" Danny said, pointing away.
With that, the gnomes ran for it on all fours. One of them hissed at Danny before resuming his escape.
"Shmebulock!" Shmebulock was heard calling out.
As soon as they disappeared from sight, Danny shook his head in disapproval before realizing he didn't seem remotely surprised by the presence of gnomes.
"I'm getting numb to situations like this…" He said to himself before deciding to go back to check on Wendy.
He saw her with the kids from a bird's eye view.
"I better head back to the diner." Wendy said.
"Why?" Dipper asked quickly, eyes on him. He cleared his throat. "I mean… you should go home, getting kidnapped might have been stressful and all."
"Danny's still there. He's probably paying for the meal all on his own. Might be a date, but I can't let him pay for so much of my food." Wendy said.
"Yeah, you got one heck of a tab." Mabel said.
"But… Wendy? He… didn't come to help you." Dipper stated in an attempt to get her to end the date.
As if on cue, Danny Fenton came running towards them, having found a spot to morph.
"Wendy?!" He shouted, pretending to be in the dark. "What happened? Where's the guy who took you?" He asks.
"Good question…" Wendy said, looking back to where the gnomes went.
"Uh… what happened with the diner?" Dipper questioned.
"Oh… uh…" Danny went, realizing he's just left without paying. "I debated whether to pay first before… not…"
After a moment, Wendy laughed it off.
"Dine and dash to play the hero, huh? Well, don't worry, I'm not sure what happened, but those cre- that creep is gone." Wendy said.
"That's a relief…" Danny said with a fake sigh.
"We should probably go back in case she thinks I dined and dashed again." Wendy said.
"Again?" Danny asks in surprise.
Later
Once their meal was finished.
"So, opinion on this place?" Wendy asked.
"The food is alright...even if the waitresses chase woodpeckers around the place." Danny said, making Wendy chuckle.
"Believe it or not, this is one of the quiet days..." Wendy said, making Danny chuckle.
Wendy sure is pleasant. She's pretty, funny and is easy to talk to. He thought.
He was about to say something else, only to notice something from out the window. It was Dipper, hiding behind a tree, watching them with binoculars.
Okay, this is getting out of hand… Danny thought, knowing he needed to talk to him.
"What are you looking at?" Wendy questioned, looking in his direction.
"Um...don't look now, but I think your little friend is spying on us..." Danny said.
"Oh...look, Dipper doesn't mean any harm, I'm sure. It's just that sometimes he can get a little carried away with his investigating." Wendy said, already knowing.
"Investigating?" Danny thought
"I'll go talk to him..." Wendy offered.
"If you don't mind...I'd like to have a word with him, just to see what's up?" Danny asked. and Wendy nodded.
"Ah, this par-" Deadpool went before being shushed, much to his annoyance.
"How on Earth did you know I was here?" Dipper questioned.
"The tree is like 5 yards from the diner, I could see you. You ever tried to sneak a peek?" Danny questioned flatly, making the boy groan in exasperation. "Look Dipper, what is this all about?"
"You may have Wendy fooled, but I'm on to you!" Dipper said, shocking Danny to his core.
"What are you talking about?" Danny asked, trying to keep a poker face.
"You might look human, but I know you're not..." Dipper shouted.
Stay calm Fenton...don't admit to anything... Danny thought, trying to see just what Dipper thought he knew.
"And what exactly am I?" Danny asked, trying to sound as sarcastic as possible to cover what he is really feeling inside.
"Some paranormal creature..." Dipper said, though his tone made it clear he didn't know just what it was exactly.
Hearing that calmed Danny down slightly.
"Look kid, I think you've been watching too many monster flicks. Search me if you want but I can safely say that I am human…" Danny said, lifting his arms as if to invite him to try.
"Don't patronize me. Earlier, I saw something black speed through the sky and land behind the diner...just about the same time you showed up. That same thing saved Wendy from her kidnappers." Dipper said.
Stupid...Stupid.... Danny thought on the inside, while he tried hard to keep his cool.
"And what exactly did you see?" Danny asked.
"You, I'm sure of that..." Dipper said.
"Sorry but last time I checked, normal people can't fly..." Danny said, knowing how ironic his statement was. "Did you think that maybe you just saw a bird or something?" He said, trying to deflect his suspicions before this kid figured something out.
"Mabel said the same thing but I know I am right." Dipper said.
"I'm human..." Danny insisted.
"Well, then you won't mind if I do some tests on you..." Dipper challenged.
Wow… a Guy in White in the making here… Danny thought.
"Sure...fine... but after that, you promise to stop spying on us?" Danny asked.
Dipper nodded before he pulled out a necklace made with some garlic and a mirror. Danny raised an eyebrow.
"Would you care to put it on?" Dipper ordered.
"I'm not a vampire, but okay… "Danny shrugged and put the garlic necklace around his neck.
Dipper took a picture and waited a moment for it to come out but the garlic wasn't doing anything to him, and he appeared in the picture. Dipper used the mirror and still saw his reflection.
"Next test..." Dipper ordered as he started poking Danny and circling around him, much to the older boy's irritation.
"What exactly are you looking for?" Danny asked.
"No battery compartment...no metal parts..."Dipper grumbled.
"I'm not a robot. Try looking for a gem." Danny jokingly suggested, recalling Lapis.
"Gem?" Dipper asks.
"Never mind…" Danny said with a flat tone.
This continued for a while, Dipper tried to test and see if Danny could be any flying paranormal creature in his journal but he proved not to be any of them. Danny was getting tired of him checking to see if he was some kind of creature, even ones he has never even heard of, but he proved himself each time.
All leading up to the final test.
"Ghouls are out...fairies too...the only other flying creature there would be ghosts." Dipper said, though he sounded doubtful.
Danny almost panicked until he got an idea in order to both disprove this and get Dipper to back off.
"Oh a ghost huh? Here, let me save you the trouble." Danny said sarcastically as he grabbed Dipper by the hand and placed his hand on his wrist.
"Hey...what are you doing?" Dipper questioned.
"Proving to you that I have a pulse..." Danny said.
Dipper looked confused until he realized his point there..
"That's right...ghosts...don't have pulses...which means...you can't be a ghost..." Dipper said with a whisper.
"Thank you..." Danny said with an eye roll, while on the inside, he was cheering.
All that ghost info and practice with my parents paid off. He thought.
"You...you are human..." Dipper said, though he didn't look happy. If anything, he sounded disappointed.
'Is something wrong?" Danny asked. Dipper looked away and said nothing. "Seriously, what's wrong?"
"Nothing..." Dipper muttered.
"Yeah, and I'm a blonde. Seriously Dipper, what's up? Aren't you happy that I'm a normal guy? That I'm not gonna eat Wendy or whatever it is you thought I would do?" He asked.
"Oh yeah...real happy that now you are normal and are going to go back to your date with Wendy." Dipper muttered sarcastically.
"Wendy?" Danny questioned until it hit him. The way Dipper said that, he sounded like he was jealous that he was on a date with Wendy. Which could only mean. He had feelings for Wendy. "Oh… I see.." 'Danny said sympathetically now that he understood his motives.
Dipper looked away from him with his arms crossed. Danny sighed quietly.
Maybe I should say something to this kid since, even though he tried to discover my secret and all, he didn't cause any real harm and I know what liking a girl can lead to. He thought.
"Look Dipper...I get it if you like Wendy but you need to understand that I'm not a bad guy here...We're just on a blind date and I'm not even sure that she'll pick me. Look, growing up is hard...believe me, it's still hard even at my age. But despite what you just put me through, you seem like a nice kid with a good head on your shoulders. So I am asking you as a person to believe me when I say that all I want to do is get to know Wendy, even if she doesn't pick me as her match, I at least want to be friends with her…" Danny said honestly.
Dipper looked to the ground, not happy but he sighed and nodded.
"Fine...I guess I was wrong...Maybe I really did see Mr. Crowbert..." Dipper sighed.
"Mr. Crowbert?" Danny asked.
"Look, I'm sorry for accusing you of being a dangerous creature...and I know that the chances with me and Wendy are slim at best but I still care about her..." Dipper muttered in frustration. Danny smiled in an understanding kind of way.
"And that's alright. Don't worry, believe me… If a guy like me, who is considered one of the geeks and the least fit guy at school can find a girl, you won't have it that hard…" Danny said in an encouraging way. Dipper, despite himself, cracked a smile at that. "So are we cool?" Danny asked, relieved when Dipper nodded. "Awesome...well, I'm glad we had this chat. Bye..." Danny said as he went back inside the diner to get back to Wendy.
As Danny left, Dipper sighed and still looked frustrated to no end.
Darn it...I really wanted to hate that guy... He thought before he rejoined his sister, who was being distracted by the same cute baby ducks from earlier.
Back Inside
Danny rejoined Wendy, who looked surprised.
"Where's Dipper? How is he?" She asked in concern.
"He's fine... he and his sister are outside right now." Danny said, pointing out.
Wendy saw this and smiled.
"You weren't too hard on him, were you?" Wendy asked.
"No, we just had a nice long talk but everything is clear now…" Danny said to.
"I'm sorry that he spied on us, but he and his sister really are good kids..." Wendy said.
"Don't worry, I'm not mad..." Danny said.
"I'm glad. I just hope Dipper will get over his crush soon." Wendy said.
"So you know?" Danny asked in surprise.
"Yeah, it's obvious and he's a sweet kid but it would never work out between us..." Wendy said.
"Age or personality?" Danny asks.
"A little of both, why?" Wendy asks.
"One of my past dates… was… uh… older than you." Danny went.
"17?" Wendy asks.
"... yes." Danny said quickly.
17 plus a few thousand… Danny thought, thinking of Lapis.
"I think he gets it..." Danny said, feeling sorry for Dipper more than anything.
Later
Wendy had just finished giving Danny a quick tour of the town.
"Man, and I thought my home town was full of superstitious and paranormal paranoia..." Danny quipped, making Wendy laugh.
"It's not paranoia if it's true...I've seen some ghosts and all sorts of things around here." Wendy said, getting Danny's attention.
"Ghosts?" Danny asked nervously.
"Yeah...Gravity Fall , what it lacks in fun places and decent establishments, it makes up for in weird and creepy mysteries. Like this one time, me, my friends and my ex Robbie spent the night at an old convenience store that was being haunted by its old owners that hate teenagers. We would have been toast until Dipper managed to get them to spare us. He fancies himself as a junior paranormal investigator and he figured out how to beat them..." Wendy said.
Note to self, be extra careful around that Dipper kid for now on… Danny thought to himself while he and Wendy kept talking.
"And this… is where I work. The Mystery Shack." Wendy explained, presenting the location in question.
"Looks like a typical tourist trap…" Danny said with a slightly annoyed scowl.
"It is." Wendy said flatly.
Stepping out of it was her boss, Stan Pines.
"Wendy! What's the point of agreeing to give you a day off if you aren't gonna help out when you're around?! And you! If you're coming in, buy something or get lost!" Stan shouted.
"Knock it off, Stan!" Wendy said, impressing Danny.
"I wish I could talk back to my boss like that…" Danny said.
As Stan stormed back in, a rather chubby Latino was taking his break with a soda.
"Sup, Wendy." He went.
"Soos!" Wendy went.
"Seuss? Like the fake doctor?" Danny asks.
"Heh, not really. Come on, let me introduce you." Wendy said.
"What about your boss?" Danny asks.
"I can handle him." Wendy said as she offered for Danny to follow.
Two hours later
Danny had now gotten to know more about Gravity Falls, from hunt for the Gobblewonker to the story of the Summerween Trickster.
"My parents probably wish they raised us here, this place screams ghost hunter paradise." Danny said.
"It sure is." Wendy said.
Before either of them knew it, it was nearing sundown and Danny knew he had to get back home.
"Speaking of my parents, I should probably go now." Danny said.
"Already?" Wendy questioned.
"Yeah, Wendy, I gotta get going now before I'm late for curfew..." Danny said.
"Don't worry, I get it. Let me at least walk you to the bus station..." Wendy said.
Danny would have flown home, but after the incident with Dipper, it would be wise to go home the normal way. They soon arrived at the bus station and waited for the next bus, heading for Amity Park.
I'll just go ghost as soon as I get to the next bus stop.
"Here we are..." Wendy said upon arrival.
"Thanks Wendy. Anyway, thanks for showing me a good time today..." Danny said in an appreciative way.
"Any time..." Wendy said simply.
"No, I mean it...thanks for being cool with me all day, after the bizarre date from yesterday, I needed to hang out with somebody." Danny paused, trying to think of the right word.
"Laid back?" She suggested.
"I was gonna say cool, but okay..." Danny said, making her laugh.
"No problem, Danny. And thanks for showing me a good time today..." Wendy said.
"It was my pleasure." Danny said.
"Also, thanks for being cool with Dipper. My ex Robbie was a real jerk to him..." Wendy said.
"No offense, but your ex sounds like a jerk..." Danny said.
"No offense taken since he was." Wendy said.
"Well, it wasn't hard. Dipper kind of reminds me a bit of me at his age." Danny said, making Wendy smile.
"Well thanks..." Wendy said as the bus finally arrived.
"Here I am." Danny said, gesturing to the bus.
Wendy learned in and gave him a small peck on the cheek that wasn't all that big, but she also placed a small note in his hand.
"See ya around Danny..." Wendy waved goodbye.
"See ya..." A blushing Danny said as he waved back, only to come back to reality when the bus driver honked to get his attention.
Danny got on the bus and after taking his seat, looked at the piece of paper she left in his hands. He opened it and was surprised to see a phone number there along with this message: call me. Danny smiled and placed a note in his pocket. He looked out of the window and soon saw himself leaving Gravity Falls on his way back home.
With one more blind date now behind him.
"And that's it." Neo said.
"Wow, that was good. Plus, a lot more action compared to the original." BatGuy said. "Well, thanks for having me. I gotta go, got to continue writing my Infinity Crisis fics, plus "Danny and Wendy" once I get that spark. That and I need a lot of mouthwash and find someone who can paint over the scratches on my car." BatGuy then added, glaring at Deadpool.
"Heheheh… you should see what I put on Hank Hill's truck." He said.
It was then, a loud and piercing "BWAAAHH!" was heard from outside.
"What was that?" Neo asks.
"He found my "propane sucks" scratched into his truck, in almost every corner." Deadpool said.
"Him too? I'll be honest, I haven't seen a single episode of "King of the Hill". So, I'll take your word for it." BatGuy says to them before realizing something. "Wait a minute… this isn't Texas. How are we hearing him this far out?"
"You'd be surprised how powerful his misery can be… Fun too." Deadpool said.
Both of them looked disapproving at him before resuming their talk.
"Well, hoping to see who is next. Any hint who?" BatGuy asks.
"Oh, it's a Disney character… after this Disney character… making them the third Disney character so fa- wow, I so did not realize that until now." Neo said.
"Fascinating. You like my Spock impression?" Batguy asks.
"It's neat." Neo admits.
"Anyway, take care." BatGuy said before leaving.
Special thanks to Flower princess11 and Batguy01 for this chapter.
And so, next time is a new character. And I may as well say, it's going to a character from Milo Murphy's Law.
Stay tuned...
Also, had to get this done before midnight where I live.
guardian1989: A little weirdness to cleanse the palette of mostly down to Earth girls.
Luiz4200: Pony Head is terrible.
RonaldM40196867: Like humor, hate obsession with ships. I was rooting for Steven to be honest. I guess? I like but has its flaws. Probably not. If I can't use Anne Boonchuy, why would I use characters from the same show that breaks a big rule? Yes. 10.
Jebest4781: No Vicky in this version.
The Disquieting One: Yeah, I figure one where they part on mostly good terms was a better option.
BeConFuzzled Writer and cg037: Thank you.
Kane Barton, Ideaman, djinn, and IrishKatana: Thanks for the suggestions.
Nite0wl18: I think its first two seasons and at least first half of 3 are worth watching.
cybirddude: 1. Yes. 2. To be honest, I am not really sure what "ecchi" actually means, but as long as Danny's not exposed to anyone naked, that'd be fine. 3. Not too sure? 4. I would stick to the anime adaptation. 5. Not sure if we're going with choice based games. 6. I'm not too sure. 7. Well, I did say these characters needed English voices, so I guess dub?
pokemon fan 1991: Wendy it is.
Guest: Sorry, but Shantae is too old. An intern said she was 16 without speaking to the creators, who said that while her age is meant to be ambiguous, she's of adult age.
amit . avrashmi: No spoilers.
Warrior of the Forbidden Flame: True.
guilhermefinamori: Heh... Panty and Stocking may be a wee bit too much. Sorry, gonna have to say no to anyone from there.
tomahawkESP: Happening to everyone, it seems.
Leonardo: It is Wendy. Also, was expecting a certain girl cloned from Danny's DNA to play a role.
LockAndKey989: I still haven't decided who from Monster High I will use.
61394: Yup, thank a fan for making me decide to use her. Sometimes, drawing it out is worse than leaving it ambiguous. Maybe? Who knows... she DID wipe out a potentially big chunk of the multiverse and only was concerned with losing Marco.
Wingd knight: Sorry, but as said, no live-action characters. I know Addams Family had cartoons, but you're suggesting a live-action take on a character, so that's a no.
