Teenage Mutant Ninja Girl
Danny managed to once again narrowly avoid missing his curfew. The only ghost he had to deal with on the way was the Box Ghost, but he managed to deal with him.
Melissa… He thought in amusement as he entered his room.
He liked her well enough. She's pretty, confident, and loyal to her friend. That friend, however, was a bit of a problem. He didn't have any issue with Milo, but his hereditary curse might make things hard. Considering how tired out he was from keeping them safe from mundane things, protecting them from ghosts worse than the one from today would be far more taxing.
He decided to score Melissa an 8, feeling that was a fair enough score for her.
Danny's phone started ringing. Figuring it was Tucker, he immediately chose to answer it.
"Hi Tuck." Danny greeted him.
"Hey man, I just got in. So, how did your blind date go? Who did you get?" Tucker asks.
"Her name is Melissa. She's the first younger girl I met. She's fun." Danny said.
"Really?" Tucker asks.
"Yup, I'm giving her an 8, just like Wendy. What about you? Who did you get and did you finally change your profile?" Danny couldn't help but ask.
"For the hundredth time, I told you that my profile is not the problem. I even managed to get a solid 7 tonight..." Tucker said in indignation.
"Really? Who did you get?" Danny asked, wanting to know who this girl is that Tucker managed to get paired up with.
"I got paired up with a girl named Gwen." Tucker said.
"Gwen… Tennyson?" Danny asks.
"No, she's… actually, I never got her last name. Anyway… she's a lot like Sam… kind of too much like her, really. But, she didn't leave me hanging, talk down to me, talk about the divide in our class or whatever… so… I awarded her a 7."
"Sounds like she's not your type, so why give her a 7?" Danny asked in confusion.
"With all the bad luck I have been having lately, I'm lucky those were her worst breaks..." Tucker muttered.
"I'm not even going to repeat myself since I know you will just ignore me..." Danny said, choosing to ignore frustration before Tucker told him the rest about his blind date.
After his phone call was over, he checked his next date.

Danny smiled. Whoever this April person is, she seemed interesting. Danny was particularly fascinated by the fact that she does martial arts and from her description, she seems like the smart, independent type. He read that their date is supposed to be tomorrow at five at a pizza place in New York
Another date that only I could do since I can fly. Weird… He thought before retiring to bed.
The Next Day, 5 PM
It was already five in the evening and Danny already landed in an alley, just outside of the Pizza place where he was to have his date. He was tired since it was a rather long flight. Still, he was glad that he made it on time. He changed forms and then stepped out of the alley, making sure his flowers for April were alright, along with his heart sticker and everything else.
"I made it." Danny said in relief as he glanced at his watch, still glad that he wasn't late.
After a few moments, he then saw a red haired girl with blue eyes appear, wearing a yellow shirt, jeans and a heart sticker as well.
Guess this is her. He thought.
"Hello there. Are you...April O?" Danny asked politely to the girl.
"Yes I am. April O'Neil. You must be D-Fenton…" The girl said, showing off a pretty smile.
"Just call me Danny…" He said as he checked her out.
April is really pretty, her long red hair is in a ponytail, she has big blue eyes, cute freckles and she is a little short.
Still pretty… He thought.
"These are for you?" Danny said as he handed her the small bouquet, causing her to smile.
'Wow...thanks Danny..." April said as she admired the flowers in her hands
Danny smiled, happy that they seem to be starting off with the right foot. He held the door for her to the pizza place, since it was the gentlemanly thing to do.
"After you.." 'Danny said.
"Manners...nice." April giggled as she walked in, with Danny soon following her.
"Ah, finally, a returning character. And another redhead… in a row of three." Deadpool went with a wink.
"Oh wow…" NeoMark said, groaning and shaking his head. "I so did not plan that…"
"Well, too bad it couldn't have been another girl, right?" Deadpool said.
"Yeah, I couldn't replace her with any other girl from this show. Karai is still a villain at this point, Shinigami hasn't been introduced yet, and Irma is… well, let's just say she doesn't have much relevance after season 2… so, April wins this. And we had to go with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as the 2012 series was a big deal for giving the Turtles another major exposure to mainstream audiences." NeoMark said.
"Not a big enough deal for a bunch of man-children developing a certain fighting game to get over their nostalgia." Deadpool said in anger.
"Well, this April is young enough to appear." NeoMark said.
"Plus, most Aprils at this point were adults. You technically only had two options." Deadpool said.
"Right. In fact, let me address something I'm sure some people are about to ask in the reviews right now. I'm sure some are probably wondering why I'm not using the April from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, since she too is a teenager and I do want to add more non-white characters here. I'm also a massive fan of that show, please give us one more season Nick! Well, the problem there is that Rise's first episode premiered in July… 5 months before the first chapter of the story. The first season hadn't even finished halfway at the point the story ended. I made it clear I want characters to have a lot of screen time as a deciding factor in using them. And before someone points out "But you know how the show ended and what happened with that April…" Yes, but we're going into this as if it were still December 2018-early 2019, so that's still unknown to us."
"He's right… give us season 3 and a proper crossover with the 2012 series!" Deadpool shouted.
Inside
They were soon seated and pulled out their menus. After they decided pepperoni pizza would work, they decided that now was the moment for small talk and getting to know each other.
"So April, tell me about yourself?" Danny asked the cute redhead.
"Well...I just turned sixteen, I go to Roosevelt High school...I like listening to music, animals and in my spare time I study martial arts." April said.
"Cool...what kind?" Danny asked with interest.
"You know...basic self defense type..." April said vaguely, as if wanting to hide the answer. "What about you, tell me about yourself Danny?"
"Well.." Danny was about to start, only to pause and then look outside.
He thought he saw something move, but it looked vaguely human.
"Is something wrong?" April asked him, getting his attention.
"Huh? It's nothing..." Danny said, dismissing it.
He couldn't help but get the feeling that he was being watched. He shrugged it off, thinking it was just the tension of being in an unfamiliar environment. He then proceeded to tell April about his own interests and chat about several topics, unaware that just several rooftops away, they were being spied on.
"Imma skippin'!" Deadpool said as he held out the remote.
"Just by a few lines." NeoMark said, getting his attention. 'You'll see…"
On the rooftop, with the Turtles
"Come on Donnie, we're supposed to be out looking for mutagen now. April will be fine, remember that she is a kunoichi and can take care of herself...she doesn't need you to be "watching over her"..." Leo said with air quotes on the last few words.
Donnie frowned at what he said.
He was about to say something in retaliation, only for sounds that were now familiar to them started to get louder.
"What's happening?" Mikey asked out loud.
Leo took Donnie's binoculars to look, seeing something on the rooftop above them, looking down at them.
"Kraang?" Raph asks.
"No… the Foot!" Leo said as he pulled out his swords. "Come on, guys!"
Back inside
Danny and April finally were eating their pizza and still getting to know each other's likes and interests.
"So you like sci-fi too?" Danny asked.
"Yes. What about ninja flicks?...'April asked.
"Love them... I've always been a sucker for a good fight scene...HI-YA..." Danny said as he playfully did a karate chop, making April laugh at his antics. However, this fun time would be cut short, when they suddenly heard noise, namely shouting. "What the...?" Danny stuttered as he turned around, still hearing the sounds of metal hitting and people shouting.
He looked alarmed while, unknown to him, April had a determined look on his face.
New York has reports of people in costumes fighting all the time. Is this one of those moments? He thought.
"What's going on?" Danny asked out loud.
"I don't know…" April said before getting up. "I'm gonna go see if I can call the cops or something... be back in five minutes…" April said as she ran out.
Danny blinked in surprise at this sudden, almost random departure from her, seeing it as an opportunity. Even if this isn't his hometown, he still has a duty as a hero to uphold. He is glad that she left, which gave him the opportunity to do this without having to make up an excuse. He quickly ran into a nearby restroom, entered a stall, changed forms and flew out to go follow that strange noise.
On the rooftop near the pizza place
Twin swords clashed with an Odachi.
Sais prevented blades from reaching their user.
Bo staff knocked weapons away.
Nunchaku hit heads.
Danny had found the source of the noises, only to see just what was causing it.
A group of four turtle-like creatures of differing body types, wearing matching masks of different colors, fighting ninjas that appeared to be robots given their glowing red eyes.
"Here comes another wave! GET THEM!" Leonardo shouted.
"BOOYAKASHA!" Mikey went.
As this fighting continued, Danny took notice of someone he recognized.
"April?" Danny whispered when he saw the girl he was supposed to be having a blind date with.
He saw April facing another girl, who looked to be around their age but was dressed up in a strange kind of armor atop a black jumpsuit.
"You just had to cause trouble tonight..." April said while frowning.
"You and your friends were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, O'Neil..." The mystery girl said, glaring at her.
The two girls began to fight, April's fan clashing with her sword as Danny watched with curiosity.
"Huh… who is that scary but kind of hot ninja chick?" He asks under his breath.
The fight continued for a while and Danny's attention was mostly on April. He knew she studied martial arts but when she said she just did the basic stuff, either she was lying to throw him off or she was just being really modest.
"Get lost, Karai!" April yelled as she used her fans in an attempt to strike, only for the dark haired girl she called Karai dodged the attack with ease.
"I guess you're out of practice. Now where is the mutagen?" She demanded.
"What's mutagen?" Danny wondered, getting more questions than answers.
"As if I'd tell you anything, Karai!" April snapped.
"April doesn't know!" Donnie shouted as he knocked a ninja off his feet. "She wasn't with us!"
"Is that what you guys were doing? Looking for mutagen?" April asks.
"... yes! That's what we were doing!" Donnie lied quickly to hide what he was going.
Leo, Raph and Mikey sent disapproving looks before shaking their heads, despite being in a fight with the Foot.
"You'll tell me where the mutagen is or I'll leave you in two!" Karai threatened.
"As if!" April said as she managed to land a kick of Karai, sending her a few feet away.
Danny saw this and looked impressed by her skills.
"Cool…" Danny commented, finding himself even more impressed by his blind date.
However, things were cut short when Danny he saw two of the ninjas about to attack her from behind.
Reacting fast, Danny sped in and roundhouse kicked one, sending it into the other.
This caught everyone in surprise.
"What?!" April questioned as she saw the figure in black and white appear for the first time.
"What?" Leo asked.
'What?" Raph asked.
"What?" Mikey asked.
"What?!" Donnie exclaimed, relieved that April was safe but wary of the stranger who was next to her.
Upon realizing all eyes were on him, Danny cleared his throat loudly.
"I...Uh...Hi...I'm Danny Phantom...I...was just passing by and saw the fight and I was wondering if you'd like some help…" Danny said awkwardly.
April looked confused before the sounds of Karai coming at her with her sword raised caught her attention.
"Any experience fighting?" 'April asked quickly as she managed to avoid the sword swinging downward.
"Tons…" Danny said as he swung his fist into one ninja's chest. To his surprise, the figure began moving as if having a seizure before breaking into pieces. "'Robots?"
"Ninja robots!" Mikey was heard correcting him.
"Good...that means I don't have to hold back..." Danny said with a smirk as he flew into one ninja, kicking him with enough force to tear him in half.
Impressed, Karai decided to ignore April and make her way to Danny. April herself was surrounded by two ninjas, keeping her busy.
"I know I've seen him before." Karai said as she scratched her chin.
Danny blasted one robot's head off before noticing Karai was staring at him.
"Hi, I'm Danny… Phantom." Danny said quickly, almost having given his real name away.
"Hmm...so you're the famous Danny Phantom I have heard about." Karai said, smiling with some interest as she examined him from feet to head.
"Uh...sorry but I don't date girls who pick on other people… miss… scary but kind of pretty ninja girl..." Danny said.
"I'm Karai, a member of the foot clan..." She said. Danny snickered at that, much to Karai's annoyance. "Why are you laughing?"
"Foot clan. " He snickered again, only to see she wasn't laughing. "Wait, you're serious?"
"Very..." Karai said, aiming her blade at him with intent to do harm.
She jumped into the air and readied her blade for an attack.
Thinking fast, Danny turned intangible before it could touch him. Karai, getting back on her feet, swung her weapon wildly before realizing she wasn't hurting him.
Danny regained tangibility to touch the tip of her weapon and freeze it in ice, a chunk big enough that it was too heavy for Karai to hold onto.
"Shouldn't be playing with sharp objects!" Danny said quickly as he flew to aid April and the Turtles.
Whoever or whatever those are, April is fighting with them so that means I help them. He thought.
Since they were robots, Danny saw no problem hitting them with full power in his rays. He blasted one's head off, and another lost their arms when they tried swinging their sword downward.
As that went on, Donatello noticed a nearby canister near the air conditioning unit of the building they're standing on.
"There's the mutagen!" Donnie shouted as he jumped over a Foot Ninja to get the canister.
Karai, seeing this happen, pulled her sword free of the ice chunk.
"Foot bots! Get that canister!" She ordered.
As the Foot Ninja obeyed her order, Danny pressed both hands together.
"Don't think so, pretty lady!" He shouted before releasing a wave of energy.
Once it made contact with its targets, the robots shorted out from the unfamiliar energy surging through them, causing them to fall apart.
Karai scowled at this.
"I'm making Stockman work overtime for this…" Karai said before having one last trick up her sleeve. "Catch!"
She threw a small bomb at April as her back was turned, causing Danny to fly in and grab it.
"Nice try, ninja girl!" Danny went victoriously.
"It's Karai, and it's not over yet." Karai said smugly as she gestured to what Danny caught.
Danny took a look at it before it released smoke that he accidentally breathed in.
"Knockout gas! Everyone get back!" Leo ordered as everyone else got away.
Danny, meanwhile, got on his knees and felt drowsy.
"What… what the heck?" He asks before yawning loudly and falling on his back.
"Stockman promised me there was enough to knock out an elephant, but at least I can see it works on whatever you are." Karai said before taking out a more typical smoke bomb. "Laters."
She uses it to cover her escape, disappearing before the smoke raises.
"She's gone." Leo said in disappointment.
"We need to go check on our friend..." April said as she ran to the mysterious hero who helped them tonight.
"Imma skippin'. Say when." Deadpool said as he fast forwarded.
"Now." NeoMark said.
"He did help us keep the mutagen away from the Foot..." Leo pointed out .
"He saved April from Karai..." Raph said.
"Proof... hero..." Mikey said, almost smugly while Donnie sent him a dirty look.
"Okay, now that's that settled, can you all promise not to tell anyone? I sort of have a secret identity and all of that..." Danny said, hopeful they'd listen.
"Don't worry Danny, you really helped us tonight, we won't say a thing...right boys?" April asked as she turned her attention to the Turtles .
"Right..." Leo said while he directed his attention to his brothers.
"Right. .."Mikey said almost happily.
Raph only shrugged indifferently before he nodded.
Donnie was silent for a moment before he slowly nodded his head .
"Awesome. So April...uh...if you don't mind my asking...exactly what was that and...uh...who or what are your friends?" Danny asked.
April sent a look at Leo, who thought about it. He sent another look to his brothers before he then turned to their unintentional ally.
"Okay...it's like this..." Leo started as he began to explain their story.
"So, you guys used to be regular pet shot turtles, but got mutated by some ooze that made to bigger and human like, got adopted by this mutant rat who used to be a ninja and raised you as his sons and taught you how to fight like ninjas and also training April to be a ninja too..." Danny repeated what he heard.
"Kunoichi, actually..." April corrected.
"Kunoichi...right...anyway, you guys are good guys and those guys you fought were ninjas led by your dad's old friend turned villain because, like my arch-enemy, they liked the same girl but she didn't like him?" Danny questioned.
"Just about." Leo responded.
Danny was silent for a moment, before he answered them.
"Cool. And don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Just remember to keep quiet about my little secret..." Danny said.
"Don't worry, we promised that we would..." Leo said .
"And this is the part where they go back to the restaurant." Deadpool said.
"You know, some people don't like these parts where we cut to us talking." NeoMark pointed out.
"Well, clearly unless something's different, no point in just re-reading the entire thing all over again, let's just worry about what's new." Deadpool said.
Danny and April were once again seated and were finally enjoying their pepperoni pizza as they continued to chat.
"I got to say April, it was so cool when you threw that fan thingy at that one guy..." Danny said in admiration.
"Thank you...your powers were really cool too. Thanks once again...you know, for saving me..." April said.
"Happy to help. So, you really studied martial arts with their teacher?" Danny asks in a low voice.
"Yep, full fledged kunoichi. I hope you aren't intimidated..." April said playfully.
"Intimidated? I think it's cool. Any girl who knows how to fight like you...well...wow..." Danny said, managing to make April blush at that.
"Thanks..." April said before taking another bite out of her pizza.
The two continued eating, chatting and joking around as they continued their date, now that the threats from evil ninjas were now behind them for the time being.
Later
Several hours have passed and Danny and April's date was an arguable success. After the pizza, April and him admired the better sights of New York at night, we're entertained by some street performers, listened to and danced to a jazz band playing in Central Park as they continued to get to know each other and found that they shared many of the same interests.
They both had a good time on this date, but like all good things, it had to come to an end as Danny was now walking April home.
"Are you sure you have to leave now?" April asked.
"Yeah, if I don't get flying now, I'll never make my curfew. My parents… don't exactly know I am in New York and I'd rather they don't find out..." Danny said sheepishly.
"Don't worry, I get it..." April said.
There was a moment of silence and smiling between the two teens until Danny broke it by speaking up.
"I had a great time with you tonight, April..."
"I did too. We should hang out again soon, if you're still interested when this whole thing is over, that is..." April said.
"Yes, I'd like that. See ya around April O and remember if you ever need my help again, give me each call..." Danny said to his blind date, causing her to giggle once again.
"I will...See ya... D-Fenton..." April said to the dark haired boy.
Danny smiled before he transformed into his ghostly alter ego and went in the air, before he left, he waved to April one more time, who waved back. He took to the skies, with Amity Park as his destination.
Back on the ground, April kept her eyes on him until he was out of sight. With a smile at who she's met, she headed to her home to
Meanwhile
Karai was on her way back to the Foot's lair when she looked back into the sky.
"Hmm… That Phantom guy wasn't exactly ugly. Maybe I should keep an eye on him if he ever comes back…" She said to herself with a small smile.
