As many of you are aware, I firmly believe in closed bedroom doors, meaning you will NOT find explicit details in my stories. That being said, use your vivid imagination and fill in the blanks if you feel there are some. Enjoy!*

The next morning

Lucas pulled himself away from his wife, making her protest.

"Where are you going?"

"Breakfast. I'll be right back."

"Coffee?"

"Yeah. Do you want an omelet?"

"Yes please."

He walked out of the room and she realized she missed him already. So, she put on her silky cream robe that Rosie got her and followed him into the kitchen.

She stood by the stairs and watched him for a moment. Tall, muscular, but thin. Her husband.

"I was going to bring breakfast to you," he told her, cracking eggs and then dicing veggies as the eggs set in the pan.

"You still can. I just missed you."

She walked up behind him, wrapping her arms around him, kissing the muscles in his upper back as he chopped and moved the eggs around.

"I'm glad we waited," she told him quietly.

"Me too," he agreed, turning slightly to kiss her.

"Do you want cheese?"

"Just a little. I'll make toast and coffee."

"How are you this morning?" he asked, adding cheese and folding the omelet.

"I'm perfect."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah. You're my husband. How could I not be?"

He put the omelet on the plate and turned the burner off as she grabbed the toast and buttered it.

"I mean, Beth, do I make you happy? I've never been a husband…it's a lot of responsibility. I just want to make sure that…"

"Sweetheart, you're rambling. And of course you make me happy. If last night was any indication of how great of a husband you'll be, you don't have to worry."

"What do you mean?" he asked quietly, pouring coffee into two mugs and grabbing the cream from the refrigerator.

"You were patient, loving, kind. You made sure I was comfortable. It meant so much to me."

She handed him a tray and kissed him twice. "Now I'm going upstairs so you can bring me breakfast in bed."

A few hours later, they decided to shower and get dressed and do some sight seeing.

As they drove away from the cabin Elizabeth looked up Alpine Meadows which she'd read was nearby. "We could go snowshoeing and then eat at the chalet. Oooo, honey, they have Bavarian food."

"You like German food?"

"Yes! Spaetzle is my favorite. Oooo it's a four course dinner!"

"Let's do it then. It sounds fun."

"Great. It's about 10 miles north of here."

"Only one problem, babe."

She looked over at him. "What?"

"We are not used to the cold and snow so…we don't have warm coats or boots or anything else that we need to snowshoe."

"We could buy what we need."

"That could be expensive." He didn't want to go broke on their vacation.

"Luke, it's our honeymoon. Its okay to splurge a little. Plus, Dad gave me money right before we left and then so did Grandpa Larry."

"Are you serious? Gran gave me some and Lynn pulled me aside and handed me an envelope."

They looked at each other and laughed.

"I guess we need to see how much money we do have," Elizabeth told him.

"A thousand?" Elizabeth squeaked after they parked at the chalet. "That's a lot."

"It should be enough for the whole ten days. I did reserve a helicopter tour of the waterfalls by the lake but that's already paid for."

"When are we doing that?"

"Let's see. Today's Sunday. It's tomorrow afternoon."

"And Tuesday we could plan to stay at the cabin the whole day. You know, to save money."

"That's the reason you want to stay at the cabin?" he teased.

She smacked his chest lightly and pulled him closer. "Maybe not the whole reason."

"I sure love you, Elizabeth Bouchard." He kissed her deeply, his hand reaching to unbuckle her seat belt.

She kissed him back and then pulled away. "Let's go snowshoeing."

"But, I was hoping…"

"Hoping what? That we'd stay in the car and make out?"

"Well…"

"Lucas, there are people all over here."

"Yeah. I guess maybe we'll find a quiet spot somewhere on our tour."

She kissed him quickly and got out of the car.

"I would have gotten your door," he told her.

"I know and I really appreciate it. I just got excited to experience this."

One of their firsts. Last night had obviously been the epitome of their firsts but now, being on vacation together, going snowshoeing which neither had ever done, eating a four course dinner at a German restaurant. It was so exciting.

The next day, a helicopter tour.

They headed into the resort and asked an employee where they could buy some winter clothes.

They were directed to a store in the resort but in Lucas' opinion, the clothes were much too expensive to purchase and only wear once or twice. They wouldn't need them in Charlotte.

So he looked it up online and found a department store. They headed over there and found exactly what they needed at half the price.

"Hm," Elizabeth said as they stood at the cash register.

"What?" he asked.

"Just learned that my husband knows how to bargain shop. That will definitely be useful in the next sixty years."

He smirked and kissed her. The cashier looked bored with the interaction but Elizabeth was not bored at all. She was proud.

….

Snowshoeing was harder than it looked.

"I'm definitely going to need to work out more often before doing this again," she told him, out of breath as they removed their equipment and put their shoes on again.

Lucas chuckled. He didn't work out much either to be honest.

"Maybe we can take a walk in the evenings," he suggested.

"Sure, that sounds fun. A walk in the moonlight," she said wistfully. "Sounds romantic."

"And I'm sure we can find other ways to work out," he said, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Luke," she whispered, turning red.

"What?" he asked, pulling her into his space. "I'm allowed to flirt with you, even in public."

She sunk into his embrace, letting herself relax as he kissed her until they were breathless.

She bit her bottom lip and grinned.

"Momma, they were kissing!" a little girl said, earning a loud shush from her mother.

"Yes, they were, bugs. Let's go eat our dinner."

"Hi," the little girl said, waving at them.

"Hi. We got married yesterday, that's why we were kissing."

"Did you wear a princess dress and a tiara?" she wondered, stars in her eyes.

"Yes to the dress but no to the tiara."

"Oh. Did you have cake?"

"Yep."

"What kind? Chocolate is my favorite."

"Alright, Layna. Leave these nice people alone. It's time to sit at our table. Congratulations to you," she told them.

"Thank you."

"Bye!" she said, waving as they walked away.

"Awww, she was cute," Elizabeth said, taking Lucas' hand. "Maybe we'll have a little girl like her some day."

"Chances are probably good," he nodded, leading her to the hostess podium. "Two for a table, please and if it can be private, that would be great."

"Name please."

"Bouchard."

"I'll see what I can do. Honeymoon?"

"Yes."

The chalet was very busy so private tables couldn't exactly happen, however they did only make them pay for half their meal. That was a sweet surprise.

"Lucas?" Elizabeth asked as they drove back to their cabin.

"Yeah, babe."

"Where did the food in our cabin come from?"

"I imagine the store."

"Very funny. I mean, we didn't shop for it so…"

"I asked the owner if they would stock it for us. I paid them extra."

"Oh." She threaded their fingers together and smiled. "That was very sweet of you."

"I just want you to enjoy our trip."

"Sweetheart, even if we didn't have the money to do anything extra, I'd enjoy it because we are together. That's what's important to me. You and me."

He kissed her knuckles and smiled. "I just thought of a 'first' that we can enjoy tonight."

"Share please."

"Can you look up where there's a liquor store or convenience store by the cabin please?"

She pulled out her phone and took her hand away for a moment. "Turn down Adrian Ave in about a mile," she told him.

"Alright."

As they wandered the aisles of the liquor store, Luke found rum and club soda. They paid and then he drove two streets over to where he knew there was a grocery store.

She watched him pick up mint, limes and lime juice.

"Are you making us mojitos?"

"Yep."

"But we've had them before."

"Yes, but we've never had them in a jacuzzi bath."

…..

An hour later,

"I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite thing," she mumbled as she sank back into his chest. She'd had a larger mojito than usual which made her tipsy and now sleepy when in combination with the hot bath water.

It was nice. He traced her jaw line with his feather light kisses, focusing then on the area behind her ear and then down to her shoulder. She shivered and giggled.

"Maybe that's my new labor…fabor…favorite thing," she slurred.

"Okay, smaller mojitos next time."

"Nah, I'm perfecto!" she told him, kissing his cheek loudly.

"Tipsy Beth is another first for me," he told her. "Its pretty entertaining so far."

"You ain't seen nothin yet…"

Within about three minutes, she was breathing deep and steady.

"Beth…" he whispered. "We should get out."

"Mmm. I'm cold," she said, turning to snuggle against him and splashing water over the sides of the tub.

"Oops," he muttered. "Less mojitos, less water in the tub."

After another five minutes, he was getting chilly too. "Babe? Let's get out."

"Hm?"

"Wake up. Let's go to bed."

She snorted and giggled. "Why are you….waking me up if we're just going to bed?"

He patted her cheek and pushed her gently forward so he could slide out from behind her. Then he let her slide back while he tied a towel around his waist and tried to wake her again.

"Elizabeth, please, babe. I can't lift you all wet. I'm afraid I'll drop you."

"Okay…yeah…I'm up." She opened her eyes and looked up at him. "You're so hot."

She giggled again, making him laugh. "You're not so bad yourself."

"Awww thanks, honeeeee," she drawled.

He helped her stand and wrapped another towel around her, then pulled the plug on the tub. Finally he wiped up the water from the floor and they walked into the bedroom.

He grabbed a t-shirt of his and a pair of shorts, handing them to her but she was already sleeping on the bed.

"Night, sleeping beauty. Today was wonderful." He kissed her soft lips and crawled into bed with her.

"Love you," she mumbled.

"I love you too."
