Justice Across Space and Time: Year 2

Chapter 17

So for those reading, Justice is going to be dealing with some….. less than happy people when it comes to him being back. And none of them are villains. At the same time, I'll try to keep some focus on Izuku and his partners. While also setting up a few more plot lines for this "year" for the UA kids. On with the show.

(No POV)

"So yeah. I thought it was time to come back to Japan." John said after finishing his tale. Mouths were all agape and some were shaking their heads at what he'd said. There were some though who were less impressed but chose to wait on the matter. "I understand that, but I'm curious as to why the number one hero of the USA would come here with you." Nezu said after recovering from the surprise.

Kate smiled while stretching her back out a bit before leaning on John's head. "Eh I kinda wanted to tag along. Thought he could not only use a little help with whoever's been selling that stolen energy, but I could also legitimize where he's been the last few months." John looked to the side before muttering, "that and you wanted to meet All Might again and spar with a few of the top heroes here."

"Well yeah. There's that too. Plus, I'd love the chance to meet a few of the true metas you've got over here. Like that Hibiki Ten guy." Star said while imagining the chance to try and catch him at his full speed. Toshinori coughed in his hand before saying he could try to set something up.

The other teens meanwhile were interested in any other stories John had about his time at DC academy and in America. But there were a few who were less impressed. "So that's it? That's the only reason you came back?" Itsuka said while her hands tightened into fists as her ki built up within them.

The large teen was about to respond, but he could feel not just the ki but some of her anger from where he was sitting. He couldn't see her face any more but he knew where some of the anger lay. And she wasn't the only one.

He could feel the magic rising from Sahiraah as well and look she was giving him (even though technically unseen) told him how much trouble he was in. But the girls weren't the only ones. Izuku's energy was rising in his body as well and he looked ready to leap at Justice and send him flying with the best Texas Smash he could unleash.

Shoto was less angry, but he was equally annoyed with the strange young man who had become his friend as well. Though he didn't want to freeze or burn him, he was still inclined to give him more of a cold shoulder. And not just the left one.

Melissa and Ochaco were in a similar state of mind but for different reasons. Namely that if he had been with the class during the Nabu incident, they and the others might not have been hurt as badly. 'Though…. We probably wouldn't have learned more about Izuku if he was there. Heck he could have beaten Nine by himself most likely.' Ochaco thinks somewhat bitterly.

John gulps but doesn't try to negate or reject what Itsuka said. And he didn't block when she blasted him with her Storm Fist attack before running off. "Did that even hurt?" Mineta asked while looking down at John with a few of the others. He'd been hit hard enough that the sofa he'd been sitting on was knocked over too.

"No. But I kind of deserved some of it," the hero said while sitting up. Nezu and a few of the other teachers shook their heads before saying they should call it a day. "Miss Star and Stripe. Please respect our laws while you are here. And I'll try to set up some matters of you teaming up with other heroes. As for Svoboda-kun….. well I'd like a report and details on what you've been studying tomorrow." Nezu said with a clap of his paws.

Thus, the story session and reacquainting John back to his class was halted. But some of his troubles wouldn't stop there. First being the fact that everyone was exhausted and his tale had taken up most of the evening. So he couldn't get a chance to talk to everyone about more of what he left for and why.

Which led to a very awkward problem when he went to get some rest. Namely when he tried to go back to the special space he and Sahiraah had made. 'Okay this just feels like a silly drama now. She changed the portal codes. And I can't get there as I am,' he thought before sitting on his dorm bed to rest and readjust to the time zone.

Or he would have if he wasn't still in California time. So, he stepped out and tried cooking to distract himself for a couple of hours again. "Can't sleep, eh?" John heard from girls side. He looked up to see Mina in some…. Rather enticing sleep wear. Or at least that's what the hero of another world assumed it was from the sounds.

"Uh yeah. Still on west coast US time. What about you? You didn't change time zones." Svoboda said with a shrug while making some ham on a skillet. Mina looked at him a bit funny before looking down and sighing. She sat at the counter for the kitchen, her breasts almost on display for anyone to see. "I've got other problems. One's you might understand given you know more of what I am now."

She raised an eyebrow at the one who showed her more of the demon side she now had. "Or rather, thanks to you I'm painfully aware that I'm a succubus. And it comes with all kinds of problems." John winced slightly before nodding and suspecting what she was talking about. "Empathy reading right? That can't be easy to deal with," he said while waiting for the ham to finish cooking.

Mina eyed John up again while biting her lip. 'You got a taste before why don't yo-' Mina heard in her head before pinching her hand. "You okay? Is there anything else that's been happening?" John asked before offering to make her something of a snack too.

The pink demon coughed before saying just some toast would be fine. "But if I'm being honest…. I feel like the demon is getting stronger. Or maybe that it's trying to take over. I'm…. sort of okay letting it happen with villains, despite the awkwardness later, but I'm worried I'll-"

"Attack someone like you did to me?" the larger teen said with a raised eyebrow. Mina had a sheepish look and acknowledged the accuracy of the statement. Noting that she'd been having a few dreams about turning into mist and assaulting Izuku, Ochaco, Kirishima and a few others. "It's scary. You know? Oh, who am I kidding. You know it from a different perspective."

"True. But at least mine has a "luxury" that I don't see those I could hurt. With the cost that it hurts far more." John said with a sad and angry expression on his face. The pair looked down before sharing a laugh at their "pity party" for their strange situations. Mina stopped laughing a little sooner and snacked on the toast she asked for. "Do you understand why some of them are mad at you?"

Mina's pointed question surprised John and he wasn't sure on the best way to respond. "Uh…. To be honest, I'm not sure if it's because I just popped back in or treated it like I hadn't really been gone for a while. I wanted to talk to them, but everyone left really quickly," the big hero said while taking the cooked meat off of the skillet and making it into a sandwich.

The half demon sighed because she knew that was likely the case. And she had seen the various reasons each of the others were mad at him. But instead of telling him, she chose to just ask what he really wanted to do.

John looked down before saying, "I know we can't exactly get back to things were when I left. But I'd like to think Sahiraah and I have gotten past some of these issues. Hell we've been together for a few centuries now."

"That is still really weird to think about." Mina said with a shake of her head. The larger hero raised an eyebrow before reminding her that she was in the same boat. "You may have been turned into one, but demons have really long lifespans. And you'll have to deal with that eventually." Mina's face went flat before saying, "gee thanks! Like I don't have enough things to worry about!"

She then glared at him before they both started breaking down into a few laughs at their odd situations. They spend a few hours just talking and comparing what they've been doing the last few months. With Justice saying he was looking forward to seeing what plenty of them could do. "Seeing isn't quite right though?" Mina commented with a smirk directed the larger teen's way.

Before John could retort, he finally felt a bit sleepy and called it a night. "Thanks for talking Mina. And I hope you'll have something impressive to show tomorrow," he said with a reassuring hand on her shoulder. The demon girl was about to reach up and take his hand but chose to forgo that and just said she would show him.

Though the newly returned hero couldn't get right back into things thanks to still being out of sync with Japan. It was almost noon when he woke up for the next day of classes and tried to catch up with the others. "It seems you need a bit more time to adjust Sir Svoboda. And I'd still like that report." Nezu said upon seeing him hurrying to the classroom. And then dragging him off to speak with the young man about the classes at DC Academy.

And with his class, they were each practicing and preparing for more challenges in their second year at UA. Namely with a battle challenge proposed by Toshinori. "Now then. This exercise will probably seem similar to what most of you would expect. Namely, that you'll be engaging robot villains and trying to rack up points. Just like you did for your entrance exams."

A number of students nodded and wondered what the former number one was thinking. "You'll see. Now then….. Sato. Shoji. Asui. Uraraka. And Koda. You five are up first." Toshinori said while pulling some names out of a box.

Ida hummed and remembered that this was similar to their original partnering a year ago. "But this time…. Ah ha. I see," the engine teen says while scratching his chin. Izuku was confused at first but quickly caught on as they went to different entrances of the battleground.

"This is about improvised team ups. Ones built, not on a predetermined plan, but truly thrown together because of necessity. This could be interesting." Ida agreed with the class president before his fellow vice brought up a different matter. "There also comes a problem of clashing egos or conflicting plans. And heroes have to put that aside to save people." Momo surmised as the exercise began.

Sato ran in first and used something new to activate his quirk. Namely, special honey candies he made that would dissolve slowly and let him keep his strength boosts longer. Using that to leap and punch through a number of the villain robots. However, he didn't notice something else.

Something Shoji caught on to after breaking a three point robot. He created a tentacle with his ear attached and heard screaming. "Are you kidding me?! After what happened in the Massive Joint Training Operation! He'd actually… never mind, it's a mannequin." Shoji said while digging out a semi collapsed building. And finding a rescue dummy where he removed the debris.

He then pulled out the rescue goal before spotting Sato running his way. And causing more damage by tossing robots around. "Crap! Octonet!" Shoji called out before rapidly duplicating his limbs to create a boundary to catch the Sugar Rush user. "Huh!? Shoji? Why you stop me?"

"Because you're putting "people" at risk man. Guess All Might decided to throw us a curve ball this way." The Dupli Arms teen held up the faux victim to the wide eyes of Sato. He coughed before asking to be set down. "Okay. So, what we… I mean, what do we do?" Sato asked trying to adjust back to sort of normal.

Shoji hummed before using his quirk to listen to the entire area and see if there was anyone else who needed help. While also noting how many other robots they needed to deal with. "This way. Let's meet up with the others and do what we can along the way."

Sugarman nodded and followed Shoji's directions on where and how to attack. Ochaco and Tsuyu meanwhile were covering Koda and a few of his animals. "Man this is crazy! Kind of wish I had the boost from Izuku's powers. It would make dealing with these robots easier!" Ochaco commented while using Skill Release to drop a number of robots on top of themselves.

Though only after Tsuyu had kicked a number of them around to crash into each other and then be dropped on their foes. "Wait! Stop dropping everything!" Koda shouted before talking with a pigeon nearby. His eyes widened before saying, "there are…. Well not people but civilians trapped in those buildings!"

Ochaco and Tsuyu's eyes widen and they followed Anima's lead into a building. Using Uravity's quirk to remove debris, and Froppy's mucus to stick some of it in place. Then gently removed the mannequins. "Guess that shows more of how this is different from the entrance exam." Tsuyu noted with a sigh.

Her allies agreed before Ochaco brought up that they should find Shoji and Sato. Only for both of them to crash in rather unceremoniously. Thanks to Sato getting punched away by a two point robot. While Shoji was trying to cover and protect the handful of dummies they had found along the way.

"Oh hey guys! Uh oh!" Sato said before dodging from another attack. Ochaco moved quickly and removed the gravity from various pieces of debris. "Time for Zero Satellites!" she calls out before using the improvised flails to damage the robots.

Shoji's eyes widened before calling out to Ochaco. "Get me as high as you can. I'll try to listen for anymore people in trouble," he explained while setting the dummy victims down. "Got it. Hold on. Time to Spacewalk!" Ochaco said after removing her and Tentacole's gravity.

Tsuyu hummed before advising Koda to summon whatever animals he could to check for others. And also helped to reign in Sato as he was coming off of his sugar boost. "Okay…. Need a little something…. Else," he said before feeling around his pouches. And finally finding a special bit of chocolate he'd made.

After eating it, the side effects of his quirk were relatively mitigated. "Whoo. Man, it still sucks coming off of my rushes." Sato said while shaking his head a bit. Tsuyu chuckled before asking if he could handle another boost soon. "Give me about a minute and I'll tell you."

"We might not have that. I just heard some trouble a few blocks in two directions." Shoji said as he and Ochaco were returning to the ground. Koda confirmed a similar situation reported by the birds he had summoned. And some rats could point out where some people were trapped.

Tsuyu hums before suggesting that they needed to divide and conquer. "Sugarman, it might be best if you went with me and Koda. I can pull you out if you lose control and he can help find those in trouble."

"Meanwhile, Uraraka and I can better fight off villains and do some rescuing if needed. Let's move!" Shoji said before each called out in agreement. The rest of the battle and rescues went smoothly enough. With Sato again using his sugar boosts to rapidly deal with the robots while Koda and Tsuyu rescued where they could. Calling him in when the coast was clear.

Ochaco and Shoji had a bit more trouble given there were only two of them and they couldn't split up as often. But they made quite an impressive splash with a new move they came up with on the spot. To send a three point robot flying after dodging it's attack, both jumped back before grappling to points behind the machine.

"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Ochaco said with a big smile while tightening her right fist as the grapple started to pull. One Shoji (likely) returned as he tightened his left fist and rapidly retracted his duplicated right arms. They flew at the machine and basically clotheslined it with both of their arms outstretched.

Back at the observation area Toshinori was laughing a bit but still applauding the last attack Uravity and Tentacole had unleashed. And many of the other teens agreed and clapped in respect for the last blow shown. As well as the rescues the others had completed during that time.

John himself was clapping a bit while walking in with Nezu. "Definitely impressive. Seems she's learned a few things from you Izuku," the larger teen said with a smirk. One Izuku returned for a moment before refocusing. However there was a different thought on John's mind as the others were returning.

'If they've all improved during my time away, what about our enemies? I know Izuku and the rest dealt with that whole incident on Nabu. But what else could the LOV or The Forgotten be planning?'

As he was thinking this, other villains around the country were acting. While being escorted home, Mr. Shimano suddenly attacked a few of the police escorting him. And killed them with burning red energy blasts. Before breaking out the members of Revenant's crew.

In Okinawa a trio of villains were thinking about the next moves they could make in the region. With one liking the area because it was similar to his own nature. The back alleys of Honnei City had a man observing with a number of goons and thugs chuckling at the thought of all the damage they could do.

Deep in his secluded mountain lair, Garaki was considering what it meant now that AFO was dead and Shigaraki was going a different path. "And Nine was a failure. Not to mention his allies are gone now." Speaking of, a bald Hasaki Kiruka was remembering what happened to her on Nabu Island. Pleasuring herself at the memory and appearance of the one who inflicted it.

And in Kyoto, a man was fiddling with an energy cell that he had gotten from an acquaintance. Namely, Wu and Jin had sold off one of the cells they couldn't begin to understand. But this man had some ideas. "Well now. This could be quite fun later," he said as he watched an odd sight. A pen and pencil that had been exposed to the energy were dancing on the desk.

This one is supposed to be a buffer chapter if you will. Getting immediately back into bigger arcs would be a bit ridiculous and would be rushing. So, I'm going to go a bit slower the next few chapters. Have Jotaro adjusting back to Japan and his friends, while also building up a few of the others we don't get to see much of in canon.

Nothing major, just maybe giving the others more fights or a bigger role within the arcs I'm setting up. And no, I'm not going to have Mina be like another full love interest or anything. She's…. well in a weird place given her demon status. And the fact it kind of makes her attracted to everyone at some level. Yes even Mineta (a succubus doesn't really care). Please review!
