"Finally, Scuttle Town."

A young man wearing a cloak looked over the town that still had its genie guardian. He heard many tales, saving the island even after getting fired a few times. He recalled his mother sending him a letter, telling him to travel here to meet "the one with answers". He never understood why his mother would do that. Still, he avoided Stuttle town for many years during his travels. But now, it was time to see what her mother meant. He enters the town, noticing the guards watching him. He didn't want to cause any trouble here. He walked around, checking out some stands, even buying a fruit to snack on. He soon heard some of the townspeople speaking and listened in.

"Did you hear? Mimic found another lost treasure! I heard it from the genies of the old!" A woman said.

"Really? I hope it can help the genie's daughter. She has it rough even when the town is attacked." Another woman said.

"And the mayor keeps firing and rehiring her. If this keeps up, she might never come back!" A man added.

The young man thinks to himself, admitting that this item could be useful. He might as well check it out.

"Excuse me," He said, making the group turn.

"I couldn't help to overhear, but where is this Mimic place?" He asked.

"Not too far, just short of the bridge that leads to the Lighthouse." The first Woman said.

"Thank you, I might see this event myself." He said, nodding.

The group nodded before going back to talking. The man walked away, humming to himself.

"Mimic, Mom mentioned that name before. Is it the same person?" He asked.

"Uncle Mimic!"

The said man looked up from his new item and saw his adopted niece run inside his workshop, no doubt to ask about his latest find.

"Hello, Shantae, here to ask me what I found?" He asked, smiling.

"Is it true? Could it once belong to my mother?" She asked, looking excited.

"I looked it over and I can say for sure that it did, however..." He said.

"However?" Shantae asked, worried.

"Your mother was wearing it when she left. I don't know how it came back but I think I need to make sure that the people here know that it's too dangerous." Mimic said.

"Well, I heard it could help me in some form," Shantae said.

"It could. Since it did belong to your mother, there is a chance that it would work for you. However, I think it is better if I hold on to it until I know more. Your mother's magic was pretty powerful during her stay." Mimic said, making Shantae nod.

"It's not another lamp, is it?" She asked, remembering the last time something that belonged to her mother was found.

"No, I know you want to avoid that again," Mimic said, making her sigh in relief.

"So, what is it?" She asked.

"Nice try, but you're going to wait like everyone else." He said, making her pout.

However, she quickly changed her tune when the people started to pile in. Mimic grabbed the item and started to walk on top of his stage. Shantae stood with the crowd, noting a cloaked man next to her.

"Here for the show?" She asked, making the man look at her.

"Yes, you too?" He asked.

"Yeah, Uncle Mimic told me that it belonged to my mother. I can't to see it." Shantae said.

"Your mother?" The man asked.

"Oh, right! My mom was a genie who protected this town before I was born. I'm following in her footsteps." She said.

The man looked at her and noticed the pointed ears. A claim that she was telling the truth of her origin.

"I see," He said, nodding.

"Oh, I'm Shantae, by the way." She said.

"Dante." The man said, nodding.

She nodded back before Mimic began.

"Everyone, thank you for coming. What I have to show you is something that once belonged to an old friend of mine. I am very unsure how it got here, but I wish to inform you that this item is very dangerous and I wish to study this until I know it's safe." He said.

Shantae quickly remembers the lamp that her uncle once found. She quickly ran up to the stage and stood ready.

"Shantae?" He asked, surprised.

"Uncle, remember what happened last time? I'm not going to be caught off guard this time!" She said, being on guard.

"Last time?"

"Yeah, if there's one thing I remember from when you showed the lamp, Risky Boots showed up and took it," Shantae said, making many people remember as well.

"Yes, I remember now," Mimic said, crossing his arms.

"Oh? So you remember what happened last time, huh?"

"Show yourself, Risky Boots!" Shantae shouted.

"Don't worry, the queen of the seven seas..."

A Tinker Bat swiped the item off the table as Risky Boot dropped from the ceiling.

"...is right here!" She laughs, taking the item.

"Give that back!" Shantae shouted.

"No can do, genie brat. This is my treasure now." Risky said, showing a necklace with a crystal in the middle.

"With this, I can grant any wish I want!" She laughs.

"No, you can't," Mimic said, calmly.

"What do you mean, Uncle?" Shantae asked.

"That necklace only works on genies, or someone that has genie DNA inside of them. To use humans, it's worthless." Mimic said, shocking everyone.

"WHAT?!" Risky shouted, surprised.

"But what about me?" Shantae asked.

"It should in theory, but since you're half-genie, I don't know if will work or do something that might hurt you," Mimic said.

"Then why don't we find out!"

Shantae could barely move when Risky jumped towards her, looking ready to place her mother's necklace on her. Suddenly, the necklace was snatched out of her hands by a claw, shocking everyone. It was pulled back into the waiting hands of the cloaked man Shantae was talking to earlier.

"That claw, could it be?" Mimic asked himself.

"Sorry about that. But you did just take something that didn't belong to you." He said, holding the necklace.

"And how do you think you are for stealing from the great Risky Boots?!" Risky shouted.

"Come now, Risky, you stole it first. I'm just taking it back." The man said, smirking.

"Who do you think you are?!" Risky shouted, pulling out her gun.

"Everyone DUCK!" Shantae shouted. looking ready to tackle Risky.

She fired but the man shot his claw upwards, making him fly towards the ceiling, losing his cloak. When Risky and Shantae looked up they were both shocked to see the person standing on a beam. He had purple hair with bangs hanging off and wore an open vest that showed his muscles and arbs that were forming. He wore pants similar to normal town people, same with shoes. He had a grappling claw on his right arm as a dragger hung from his back.

"He looks likes..." Shantae started, shocked.

"It is him," Mimic said, whispering.

"Another one! That's does it!" Risky said, running out the door.

The man looked surprised before dropping down.

"What was that about?" He asked.

"Dante?"

He turned and saw Mimic looking at him.

"You know me?" He asked, confused.

"Yes, does your mother know about that?" Mimic asked, pointing at the claw.

"Yeah. She sent me here." Dante nodded.

Shantae walked up, looking at him. Now that Dante was getting a better look at her, he was surprised to see she had the same face and hairstyle as him.

"Why do you look like me?" They asked at the same time.

Mimic sighs, he never thought this would happen. Before anyone could say anything, Sky and Bolo came rushing in.

"Shantae!" Sky shouted, making the genie girl look at her.

"Risky Boots is attacking!" She shouted, making Shantae sigh.

"I'm on it!" She said, jumping down.

Shantae ran off to stop Risky again, leaving Dante confused.

"Here, hold this." He said, tossing the necklace back to Mimic.

He drops down, running after Shantae.

"Who was that?" Bolo asked.

"He looked dreamy too," Sky added.

"To think he would show," Mimic said, confusing the two.

"What do you mean?" Bolo asked.

"That, children, was Dante. The world's greatest thief. And Shantae's half-brother." Mimic said, shocking everyone.

"WHAT?!"

And end! And I bring you a new Shantae story! This time, with a brand new idea. As you all read, my new character is known as Dante (not the one from Devil May Cry) and is Shantae's half-brother. Since it was said that girls are always born between a genie and a human, that means that Dante is a full human. I don't have is backstory, but I'm going to hold out on it until the next chapter. Dante is pretty much a male version of Shantae, having the same hair color and style, but he is a thief. However, he's more of a "Robin Hood" type character. This story will cover most of Shantae's and Dante's time together while trying to stop an evil from breaking free of its prison. Oh, and the necklace plays no part in the story. It was something I threw in to make Risky appear.

So, in the next chapter, Shantae and Dante work together to fight Risky Boots and learn the truth about each other. Then we learn a little bit about Dante's past.
