AN: Hey everyone. So, there is something interesting I would like to tell you regarding this story. I originally got the idea to do it because one of my friends saw the idea of A Thousand Blank White Cards in a previous story, and wanted me to write a story about it. I said yes. I originally was going to wait to publish this story at a much later date.

But then, I got a story request from an old acquaintance of mine. The request was very similar to the idea that I already had. So, I decided to publish this story now. I hope you all enjoy it.

Chapter 1 A Letter to Peach

Rosalina stared into the velvety blank expanse known as space. The stars stared back at her, twinkling as if to communicate to her with Morse code. They provided the void a much needed light, the vacuum some much needed scenery. Rosalina let out a happy breath and reached into her pocket. In her hand she now held a teal colored cigar with a star-shaped tip. Using her wand, she lit it up. She puffed on it, sending star shaped smoke rings into the void.

Polari, Rosalina's confidant and very close friend, flew up to her as she sat on the grassy terrain of the terrace. The little black luma snickered upon seeing her with the cigar in her hand. Rosalina turned toward him with a raised eyebrow.

"What?"

"Nothing. I just thought that you had given up smoking after the disaster that happened in the Melty Monster Galaxy."

Rosalina let out a breath and shook her head. "It wasn't so bad."

Polari laughed. "Rose! You nearly blew up a planet!"

Rosalina felt her face grow warm. She pulled her knees up to her chest and hugged them as she put her head in her lap. "Like I said; it wasn't that bad."

Polari snickered and shook his head. "If you say so." He took a seat right alongside the Lady of the Shooting Stars. He stared into the void, the light of the stars reflected in his ice blue eyes. Rosalina stared into them, for they were sparkling like ice crystals. It reminded her of the snow of the Freezy Flake Galaxy, for that too shined in a very luminous way.

Rosalina smiled and took another puff of the cigar. "There are so many marvelous wonders within this cosmos."

"That there are. Remember when we saw that nebula?"

"Which one? We have seen countless nebulas in our travels."

"The one that looked like a hand?"

Rosalina beamed. "Ahh, yes. I do remember that." She thought back to when she had seen that nebula. It was sky blue in color, and it did indeed resemble a hand. It's long fingers covered the cosmos like it was trying to do a finger painting on the dark canvas of space. Like most things in space, it also shimmered with such a radiant beauty that it made a human like Rosalina completely entranced.

"Yeah," said Polari. "It was beautiful. Almost makes me wish that I had hands."

Rosalina snickered back a laugh. "You don't need hands. You have your little points."

Polari's eyelids drooped. "That's easy for you to say; you at least have opposable thumbs. I need to use both my 'points' as you call them in order to open up doors!"

Rosalina laughed, nearly dropping her cigar as she did so. Thankfully, she didn't, which meant that the grass of the Terrace didn't catch fire. "Well then, be thankful that none of the domes in the Comet Observatory have any doors."

Polari rolled his eyes. "My thankfulness knows no bounds."

Rosalina shook her head and rose to a standing position. She put the cigar out and made her way toward the front of the Observatory. Her little break was over. Now, she actually had something important to do.

Polari rose back up and followed her, curiosity present in his expression. "Are you okay, Rose?"

"Yes. I am fine. I just need to get something done."

"What do you need to get done?" asked Polari as he raised an eyebrow.

Rosalina let out a breath. "I need to write a letter to Peach."

"Oh," Polari said, his expression reverting back to normal. "Why do you need to do that?" He raised another eyebrow. "Also, which Peach exactly?"

That was actually a valid question. During her time up in the cosmos, Rosalina had discovered a way to exit the boundaries of time and space, therefore going to an area that was outside of it. While in this area, Rosalina had the ability to see and observe all sorts of different universes. Some of them were completely out there and different, while still some resembled the universe where she grew up on the Mushroom World.

"The Peach of this universe," Rosalina stated blankly. "I have not had some time to enjoy her company in a while, nor has she mine. I feel that it is long overdue."

Polari nodded. "That makes sense. Man, it is amazing how you are able to keep track of all the different universes, Rose."

"Thank you, Polari," Rosalina replied. She walked straight past the map of the domes and made her way toward the Library. Once there, she was greeted by warm lighting and the nostalgic smell of dusty books. There was no sound, not even a peep. Rosalina breathed in, fully embracing the library's calming atmosphere. Then, as if the objective of her mission had been restored to her memory, she suddenly made her way over to a table in the left hand corner. She waved her wand, producing a pile of paper and a pen out of thin air. With that, she sat down and began to write.

To my good friend, Princess Peach Honey Toadstool,

Greetings. It has been a while since I have been able to enjoy your company. I was wondering if, at all possible, I might join you down in the Mushroom Kingdom? I simply do wish to see you, for I have been travelling the cosmos nonstop. I am in need of a break, and I am sure you can empathize. So, I would appreciate it if you would consider my offer. I will eagerly await your response.

Sincerely, Rosalina.

Rosalina looked down at the letter, furrowing her brow as she did so. Wasn't this a little too….guilt trippy? She handed it to Polari, but he seemed to think that it was okay. So, pushing her doubts to the side, Rosalina waved her wand and teleported the letter down to Peach's Castle. She then turned toward Polari and smiled.

"What do you say we go make a star bit cake while we wait for her to respond?"

"Oh, yes. I am sure that the lumas would appreciate that." He licked his lips. "Not to mention, I think I would too."

Rosalina laughed. "Good. Very good." With that, she got up and exited the library. She flew up to the kitchen dome, not in the mood to climb her way up the staircase of tables. Right as she and Polari were about to enter the kitchen, her wand glowed with a pink light and let out a beep.

Rosalina smiled. "Ah! She responded already!" She waved her wand, and a letter materialized right in front of her. She plucked it out of the air, opened it up, and began to read.

Hi Rose! It is so nice to hear from you! My sisters, Daisy and Aqua, are coming to the Castle tomorrow, so why don't you come then?

Sincerely, Peach

Rosalina felt her heart soar. She showed the letter to Polari, who nodded with approval.

"Good." He laughed. "That means you still have plenty of time to make that cake!"

Rosalina snorted. "Yes. It would appear that I do." She turned around. "Let's start with making it. Then, I will gather any items necessary for my visit."
