Geum Jan Di, was caught up in a difficult situation arising from an intense argument she had with her classmate, Gu Jun Pyo. The debate was sparked by a class discussion about love, and it soon turned into a heated exchange of opposing views. While Jun Pyo saw love as a random event that occurs unexpectedly and without any pattern, Jan Di held a different perspective, stating that true love is a divine gift that brings joy and fulfillment to one's life. The debate was highly intense and emotionally charged, rendering both Jan Di and Jun Pyo feeling trapped and unable to move.
…
During a heated argument between Jan Di and Jun Pyo outside their classroom, a student accidentally collided with Jun Pyo from behind, resulting in him losing his balance and falling backward. At that moment, he felt a strange sensation and suddenly found himself teleported to a virtual reality garden with Jan Di by his side. However, the experience was short-lived as he watched Jan Di expertly dodge his attempt to kiss her and instead plant his lips on her locker.
…
Jan Di, a skilled immortal martial artist, was faced with a challenging situation when Gu Jun Pyo attempted to kiss her. However, her quick reflexes and keen senses allowed her to evade Jun Pyo's advance and safely land on the ground by using her exceptional agility and balance. In the process of escaping, Jan Di unintentionally collided with Ji Hoo, knocking him down with a thud.
As Jan Di landed on top of Ji Hoo, their faces were in close proximity, and they shared a sudden and unexpected kiss. The kiss was brief but intense, evoking a profound emotional response from Jan Di. She had never experienced such a powerful connection with anyone before. Meanwhile, Gu Jun Pyo, completely unaware of the unfolding romantic drama, banged his lips against the locker in an attempt to make contact with Jan Di.
One day earlier…
Jan Di was overwhelmed with excitement as she walked back into the beautiful apartment that her Grandpa Yoon had given her. However, she couldn't help but notice that the furniture and decor were not arranged in the most practical or aesthetically pleasing way. Being a skilled magician, Jan Di knew that she could use her powers to cast a spell and rearrange everything according to her vision.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath to focus her energy. As she chanted the spell, she could feel the room's energy shifting around her. When she opened her eyes, she was astonished to see that the furniture and decor had rearranged themselves in a way that was beyond her expectations.
The small living room, which was connected to both the kitchen and dining area, was now a cozy and functional space. The furniture had been repositioned, and the long couch and small, round, movable coffee glass table were now placed on a soft, fluffy white rug in the center of the room. The walls had been painted pink and adorned with various unicorn-themed artwork, making the room feel playful and joyful. Jan Di's immortal family members were now displayed on the wall, including her adopted grandfather Yoon, who had taken her in when she first arrived in the human realm.
As Jan Di looked into the transformed room, her eyes were immediately drawn to the television that hung on the wall opposite the couch. Its strategic placement allowed for easy viewing from any seat in the room. The walls were adorned with a few pieces of art, adding a touch of elegance to the space. However, what captured her attention the most was the bookshelf that stood tall on one side of the room, filled with reading books of all genres—her class books. This addition not only made the room aesthetically pleasing but also added a touch of education and entertainment to the space.
As she continued to observe the room, Jan Di noticed the large window that lets in plenty of natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The sunlight to illuminate the entire room, making it feel cozy and homely. She could picture herself sitting on the couch, sipping a cup of coffee, and reading her favorite book on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
But what excited her the most was the cozy beanbag chair that sits in the corner, providing a comfortable spot for me to relax and read her favorite books. Its soft texture and warm color make it an inviting spot to unwind and enjoy a good read.
The kitchen and dining area remained unchanged, but the room now felt more spacious and open, making it easy for her to move around.
Jan Di was filled with excitement as she decided to make some changes to her bedroom. She knew that if she cast the magic spell again, she could turn her vision into reality. She closed her eyes and imagined a serene space where she could escape and rejuvenate. She envisioned a room with soft pastel colors, plush bedding, and delicate curtains that would create a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. As she concentrated on her thoughts, she began to feel the energy of the spell working around her.
Upon opening her eyes, she was immediately amazed at how the room had transformed. The wall was repainted with a fresh coat of white paint for a simple yet elegant look that added brightness to the room. A soft headboard was installed, which was designed for maximum comfort and warmth, and the bed was positioned against the wall.
Jan Di's customized combination cabinet was placed at the end of the bed. It had a tall unit for books and a drawer for study materials. As she walked over to the pull-out cabinet below, she noticed that it contained her bow, her sword, and other magical items she needed in case of an emergency. Another bookshelf was linked to the desk and stocked with her other school supplies, creating a practical study area with a computer and an iPad.
One end of the room was transformed into a shower room with a silver door, providing a private space for personal hygiene. The glass door that ran from the ceiling to the floor still separated her bedroom from the living room, allowing enough light to pass through while maintaining privacy. Since she didn't know much about electricity, she left the chandeliers as they were, hanging from the high ceiling and providing a warm and cozy ambiance to the room. All in all, Jan Di was thrilled with the results of her magical spell.
After finally settling into her new apartment, Jan Di felt a sense of relief wash over her. She decided to call her Grandpa Yoon, who had been instrumental in helping her secure the place. Jan Di expressed her gratitude for his unwavering support and thanked him for everything he had done for her. However, she also couldn't help but worry about her grandfather's health now that he was back to living alone.
The old man scolded her affectionately for being the mother hen instead of the carefree young woman he knew. He also reminded her that she was a fire phoenix meant to spread her wings, fly high, and show off her beauty. He then assured her that he was perfectly capable of taking care of himself and reminded her of his stubborn independence. However, Jan Di couldn't shake off the lingering sense of concern for her beloved grandfather's well-being.
"I will go look around my new neighborhood; that way, I won't end up getting lost, and I can familiarize myself with the area," Jan Di suggested. "Besides, it might be a good opportunity for me to meet new people and make friends nearby." With a smile, her grandfather nodded in agreement, knowing that exploring the neighborhood would not only ease her worries but also help her adapt to her new surroundings.
As she walked out of her apartment, Jan Di took in the sights and sounds of the bustling city. She recalled seeing Ji Hoo in a traditional Korean-style mansion. Curiosity sparked within Jan Di as she wondered if Ji Hoo lived nearby. She hoped that exploring the neighborhood might lead her to his mansion and perhaps even a chance encounter with him. She was also excited about the prospect of discovering new places to eat, shop, and hang out. She felt a wave of optimism wash over her as she embarked on this new adventure.
As Jan Di walked through the rich neighborhood, she was amazed by the different kinds of houses, each grander than the last. The sun was shining, and the gentle breeze was blowing, making her hair sway in the wind lost in her thoughts when she suddenly felt a presence behind her. Startled, she turned around to find Ji Hoo standing there, looking as charming as ever. He was wearing a black leather jacket and a playful smile on his lips that made her heart race. He had his hands in his pockets, and his hair was tousled, making him look even more attractive.
"Are you following me?" he asked, with a hint of amusement in his voice as he leaned in slightly, his lips softly grazing the shell of her ear. His warm breath sent shivers down her spine, and she couldn't help but feel a little flustered by his sudden appearance.
Jan Di was taken aback by his question and his proximity. She could smell his cologne, which was a mix of musk and sandalwood, and it made her feel dizzy. "Why would I follow you?" she replied, trying to sound defensive. "It's not like as if you were some kind of gem for me to keep tabs on? Mr. Flirt."
Her voice was a little shaky, and she felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment. She didn't want to admit that she had been thinking about him all day and had coincidentally ended up on the same street as him.
Ji Hoo, a charming and handsome young man, let out a soft chuckle as his eyes sparkled with amusement. He couldn't help but find it amusing how fate had brought him and Jan Di together. "I suppose you're right," he replied to Jan Di's comment about fate, his smile widening. "But isn't it strange…?"
As he spoke, he slowly stepped closer to her, and Jan Di instinctively backed away, feeling a little intimidated by his proximity. She couldn't help but notice how tall and well-built he was, which made her feel even more nervous. "We met each other yesterday, and now today you moved into this neighborhood... Miss beautiful…" he said, his voice trailing off as he leaned closer to her until she hit the brick wall of a neighbor's gate. "Have you fallen in love with me?"
Jan Di's heart skipped a beat at his bold words, feeling her cheeks flush with a bright shade of red. She was surprised by his sudden confession and couldn't find the right words to respond. "No, it's not like that," she stammered, trying to regain her composure. "Fate just has a funny way of bringing people together, I guess."
Ji Hoo's playful expression softened as he reached out to gently brush a strand of hair behind her ear. His touch sent shivers down her spine, but it also made her feel safe and comfortable. "Well, whether it's fate or something else, I'm glad our paths crossed," he said softly, his voice filled with sincerity while leaning toward her ear. "I will be your tour guide," he added softly, making her heart skip a beat once again. She couldn't help but feel a deep connection to him, and she knew that this was only the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Jan Di's heart began to race as she listened to Ji Hoo speak. His hand was still in her hair, making her feel nervous yet excited at the same time. She tried to hide her growing anticipation and nervousness as she asked him, "Haven't you had enough of flirting with me? You've been doing it since this morning."
Ji Hoo chuckled softly, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I can't help myself," he replied. "Flirting with you is one of the highlights of my day." His voice was filled with warmth and affection, and Jan Di couldn't help but feel drawn to him. He reached out to gently touch her face, brushing his thumb against her skin. "I adore the way your cheeks turn rosy," he said, "and the way goosebumps rise on your arms when I whisper in your ear." His fingers trailed along her bare arms, making her shiver. "It's your reactions that make it all the more irresistible," he whispered, his voice filled with sincerity.
"But don't worry," Ji Hoo continued. "I won't just be a flirtatious tour guide. I'll show you everything this neighborhood has to offer, from the stunning nature to the bustling malls, convenient stores, and amazing restaurants. We even have a police station here, so you'll feel safe and secure." His eyes twinkled with excitement as he spoke, and Jan Di couldn't help but feel a flutter in her chest at the thought of exploring this new place with him by her side.
"Alright, Mr. Flirt, show me around," Jan Di said, pushing him away from her personal space and gaining her composure.
Ji Hoo let out a soft chuckle, taking a step back from Jan Di. "I promise to keep my flirtatious side in check," he said with a playful wink. "Let's start at your house, and then from there, I will show you everything. Come," he said, then gently took her hand and laced their fingers together.
Jan Di, surprised by the sudden gesture, protested. "Why are you holding my hand? I can walk by myself."
But Ji Hoo wouldn't budge. Instead, he tightened his grip. "If I don't hold you, it won't be fun. And now that I know where you stay, I will be coming here every morning to give you a ride to school," he said, his voice filled with warmth and sincerity.
He chuckled mischievously and continued, "Consider it my way of making sure you arrive safely and on time. Plus, it gives me an excuse to spend more time with you."
Jan Di couldn't help but feel a mix of curiosity and anticipation for their future rides together. She wondered what kind of conversations they would have during those rides. As they walked, Jan Di couldn't help but ask about Ga Eul, Ji Hoo's friend and the princess of the F4. "And what about your sweetheart, Ga Eul?"
Ji Hoo smiled and replied, "Ga Eul is like a sister to me, and besides, she has her boyfriend, Woo Bin. She has been out, princess, but that doesn't stop me from making friends outside the circle of the F4. I found a friend whom I can naturally and easily connect with, and that's you. There is something warm about you, Jan Di-ah."
Jan Di felt a mix of happiness and confusion at Ji Hoo's words. She couldn't help but wonder if their friendship could potentially blossom into something more.
Confusion evidence in her eyes at the mention of her name informally, he asked. "Oh, do you want me to keep calling you Ms. Beautiful or Ms. Long Hair?" Ji Hoo teased, flashing her a charming smile.
Jan Di blushed at the informality of the nickname he had given her. "Jan Di-ah?" she asked, curious about its meaning.
"It's a term of endearment I use for you. It's a way to show how comfortable and close I feel with you," Ji Hoo explained, still holding her hand.
Jan Di felt her heart race at the way he looked at her. She couldn't deny the attraction she felt towards him, but she also wasn't sure if she was ready to take that next step. For now, she was content to enjoy their rides to school together and see where their friendship would take them.
After touring the neighborhood, which also turned out to be an evening walk that went beyond their neighborhood, Ji Hoo decided to invite Jan Di to his favorite food stall near his house. "This is where I have dinner if me and my friends don't go out for dinner or parties," he informed her while pulling out a chair for her.
"You don't know how to cook?" she asked.
"No, I have had maids around me since I was five, and I ended up getting tired of them," he said sadly. "They only come to clean, especially when I am not around."
Jan Di felt a pang of sympathy for Ji Hoo, realizing that his privileged upbringing had its downsides.
"And you? Do you know how to cook?" he asked.
"Yes," she replied with excitement. "Although my parents are the leaders of the martial arts sects, all the girls in my clan are taught how to cook, bake, calligraph, embroider, play music instruments and even paint. We are not allowed in court, but I was allowed since I am the only daughter."
"I see," Ji Hoo replied, a mischievous idea dropping in his head. "So, if I come to your home, can you cook me a meal?"
"Yes, I can…!" Realizing her excitement, Jan Di's smile faded, immediately clearing her throat. "I meant no," she said, looking away. "Anyway, what are we going to eat?"
Ji Hoo chuckled at Jan Di's sudden change in demeanor. "It's coming." Rest assured Jan Di-ah, I will be coming to your house every morning and evening for a free meal.
As the evening set in, a middle-aged woman walked up to the table where Jan Di and Ji Hoo were seated. She carried a small pot on a small stove, and the aroma of lamb stew wafted through the air. With a warm smile, she greeted the duo, "Good evening, young master. I see you've brought someone here," she said, casting an inquisitive glance at Jan Di.
Jan Di greeted her politely, bowing in respect. "Hello Ma'am," she replied, with a gentle smile.
Ji Hoo then introduced Jan Di, "Halmeoni, she is Jan Di-ah, Geum Jan Di. Jan Di, this is Ms. Kim; she owns this food stall, and her food is the best."
Jan Di expressed her appreciation for the lamb stew, "An honor to taste a freshly cooked lamb stew, Ma'am Kim," she said, her voice laced with gratitude.
Ms. Kim's eyes brightened up as she looked at Jan Di. "Ji Hoo-ah, where did you get such a young and elegant-speaking girl like her?" she asked. "It has been ages since I saw a young girl grow such long traditional hair in a while. Young girls these days don't value ancient beauty. Soft, smooth skin that is maintained with only natural remedies, and this long hair is very thick and long, like a princess. It's refreshing to see someone embracing their heritage."
Jan Di felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment, but she was pleased to receive such a compliment. She thanked Ms. Kim for her kind words and said, "I believe that beauty comes from within, and it's important to appreciate and preserve our cultural roots."
Ji Hoo joined the conversation and added, "Jan Di is a friend from school, and I think everyone seems to envy her natural beauty and long, luscious hair. It's rare to see someone embrace their heritage in such a genuine way, especially in this modern age where trends and fads constantly change."
Ms. Kim nodded approvingly, her eyes twinkling with curiosity. "Well, it seems like you've found yourself a gem, Ji Hoo-ah. Take good care of her," she whispered in Ji Hoo's ear.
Ji Hoo smiled softly and replied, "Don't worry, it's on me."
…
On the third day of Jan Di's arrival at school, she was approached by a girl in the school cafeteria. The cafeteria was abuzz with students sighing and swooning over the F4, a group of four popular and wealthy boys. However, amidst all the chaos, Ga Eul and Ji Hoo were the first people to approach Jan Di on a friendly basis. Although both of them were playful, Jan Di found herself more comfortable with Ji Hoo because he had come with pure intentions.
During her break time, Ga Eul had approached Jan Di with a different motive, but she couldn't break it to her just yet. And now, while Jan Di was having lunch with Ga Eul, another girl approached their table. She was a doll-like girl with a sweet smile. "Hi, I am Oh Minji," she introduced herself to Jan Di and Ga Eul. Jan Di and Ga Eul exchanged surprised glances, not expecting another person to approach them. Oh Minji seemed genuinely friendly, and her warm demeanor instantly put them at ease.
Jan Di and Ga Eul were surprised when Oh Minji suddenly approached them with a friendly demeanor. Curiosity piqued, and they wondered what could have prompted her interest in getting to know them. To find out, Jan Di asked her, "What brings you here?" hoping to uncover the reason behind Oh Minji's sudden friendliness.
Oh Minji then asked if she could have a taste of Jan Di's egg roll, pointing to her lunch box. Jan Di hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to respond to Oh Minji's request. Sensing the awkwardness, Ga Eul quickly intervened and said, "Sure, you can have a bite!"
Reluctantly, Jan Di handed over her lunch box, still puzzled by Oh Minji's sudden interest in them. As Oh Minji took a small bite of the egg roll, her eyes lit up with delight, and she exclaimed, "Wow! This is delicious! I didn't expect it to taste this good!"
Jan Di smiled at Oh Minji's reaction, feeling pleased to see her enjoying the food. Ga Eul then chimed in, "Jan Di makes the best egg rolls. You should try some more next time!" With this, Oh Minji seemed to have found a reason to strike up a conversation with Jan Di and Ga Eul, and the three of them spent the rest of their lunch break chatting and getting to know each other better.
During a conversation, Minji suddenly brought up a topic and asked Jan Di, "By the way, I saw you with Ji Hoo Sunbae yesterday. How do you know each other?" Minji was curious about their relationship, even though she already knew Ga Eul as one of the members of the F4, and she was their princess, the luckiest girl in the entire Shinhwa School. Ga Eul, although she was from a rich family, her parents were never around, and her entire life she lived with her aunt, who sometimes mistreated her. Now she would either stay with Ji Hoo or Jun Pyo in their homes, depending on her own choice and preference for the day.
Jan Di hesitated for a moment before responding, "Yes, we do know each other. Ji Hoo Sunbae and I became kind of friends yesterday." Minji's eyes widened with curiosity as she leaned in closer, eager to hear more about their relationship.
She asked, "How did you two become friends so quickly?"
"I will answer you." Ga Eul chimed in, sensing Jan Di's hesitation and wanting to satisfy Minji's curiosity. "Ji Hoo stole a hairpin from Jan Di's hair on their first day of school," Ga Eul revealed, causing Minji to burst into laughter. "He bought her another type, but she didn't like it and returned it. They ended up having a playful argument about it, and that's how their friendship started."
Minji let out a soft giggle, finding the story both amusing and endearing. "It's funny how Ji Hoo has always been the cold and stoic one among F4, but I never expected him to have a playful side. I saw him yesterday with Jan Di, and he seemed genuinely happy stealing her food...and he was even flirting with her," she said, raising her eyebrows in surprise.
Ga Eul nodded in agreement and added, "It's as if Ji Hoo has completely changed ever since he met Jan Di. He's become more open and light-hearted." Minji's eyes widened as she listened to Ga Eul's observation. "I guess love really does have a way of transforming people," she mused, thinking about her own experiences with relationships.
As the conversation continued, Jan Di couldn't help but join in, her face turning a bright shade of red. "Love? He was just teasing me," she said, trying to brush off the idea that Ji Hoo might have feelings for her.
Ga Eul chuckled and replied, "Well, Jan Di, sometimes people use playful teasing as a way to express their feelings. Maybe Ji Hoo was just trying to hide his true emotions." Jan Di's blush deepened as she considered Ga Eul's words, realizing that there might be more to Ji Hoo's actions than she initially thought.
"How can someone develop love in just three days?" Jan Di wondered out loud, finding it hard to believe that such strong feelings could arise in such a short period of time. The group continued to discuss the idea of love and how it can change people in unexpected ways.
Min-Ji was ecstatic as she shared some exciting news with Jan Di, "Hey, guess what? Today I found out that we have the F4 and some senior students joining us in a debate. I'm so excited!"
However, Jan Di didn't seem interested and quizzed, "What's the topic about?"
Ga Eul interjected and explained, "It's about the feeling of true love. Since the F4 and senior students are known for their eloquence and diverse perspectives, this debate is expected to be quite engaging. I think it will be interesting to hear different opinions on such a complex and subjective topic."
Jan Di remembered that Ga Eul had previously shown interest in her hair products and decided to offer some help. "By the way, Ga Eul, I got some of the hair products I use. After our classes, I will teach you how to use them."
Ga Eul was grateful and replied, "Thank you so much, Jan Di! I've always admired how your hair looks so healthy and shiny. I am tired of these fake hair products that promise results but never deliver. I'm excited to try something that actually works and see if it makes a difference for my hair."
Jan Di smiled and reassured her, "Don't worry, Ga Eul! I understand the struggle to find the right products. Hopefully, these will help you achieve the look you've been wanting."
Min-Ji, who was also present, asked eagerly, "Can I try some as well?"
Jan Di smiled at her two friends and said, "I had only brought enough for Ga Eul, but don't worry, I will make some more, especially for you, Min-Ji."
Jan Di, Ga Eul, and Min-Ji were sitting in the classroom, chatting with each other, when suddenly, the F4 along with five senior students made their way into the classroom for a debate. The F4 looked exceptionally handsome in their suits, while Ji Hoo stood out among them, wearing a white coat, a tight black shirt, and white pants. The senior students carried black clipboards, while the F4 held their expressive-looking iPads provided by the school.
The F4 were not just senior students, but they were the most elite children in all of Asia, known for their outstanding abilities and talents. Gu Jun Pyo, for instance, was a talented basketball and rugby player, and he was also good at business management. Yoon Ji Hoo was a prodigy in classical music and had won numerous international piano and Violin competitions. He was also skilled in painting and fluent in various languages, particularly English. So Yi Jung, on the other hand, was renowned for his exceptional skills in pottery and sculpture. Song Woo Bin, too, was highly skilled in finance and entrepreneurship and was also a kung fu master.
These four friends together formed the "F4" group, ruling their prestigious school with their unparalleled talents and wealth. Their unique combination of abilities made them the talk of the town, admired, and envied by both students and adults alike. They were undoubtedly the most favored students in the school, but at the same time, they were also the most hated students, as their superiority complex often caused them to bully and mistreat others. Despite that, they had a massive following, and many students aspired to be like them.
…
As the class coordinator announced the arrival of the F4, the atmosphere in the classroom changed. The other students erupted in cheers and claps, eagerly anticipating their appearance. However, Jan Di, a strong-willed and independent girl, chose to remain seated, not wanting to participate in the idolization of these boys, who were no different from any other person.
Jan Di had heard a lot about the F4, a group of four wealthy and influential students who ruled the school with their power and money. Yi Jung, known as a cold-blooded Casanova, had a reputation for using his charm and good looks to manipulate and break the hearts of countless girls. He was notorious for his playboy behavior, leaving a trail of broken hearts in his wake.
Song Woo Bin, on the other hand, was known as the F4's Don Juan, with a reputation for being a smooth talker and ladies' man. He had a knack for effortlessly wooing women, and he was often seen surrounded by adoring female fans.
Ji Hoo, the third member of the F4, was known for his fourth-dimensional personality. He often seemed lost in his own world, deep in thought. Ji Hoo had a mysterious aura that drew people in but also made it difficult for others to truly understand him.
Finally, there was Gu Jun Pyo, the leader of the F4, who was the most detested of them all. Gu Jun Pyo was known for his arrogant and brash behavior, frequently flaunting his wealth and power. He had a tendency to belittle others and wasn't afraid to use his status to get what he wanted.
Jan Di sat in the classroom watching as the rest of her classmates excitedly clapped and welcomed the arrival of the F4, the group of senior students who were adored and admired by everyone in the school. However, Jan Di remained seated, not joining in the applause, for she only bowed down to the sovereign God, her master, and her parents. She believed that mere mortals like the F4 were nothing compared to her ranking in both their clan and the fact that she was the most favored disciple of His Majesty.
Jan Di was never taught to disrespect people around her but rather to respect and praise herself before she did for others. It wasn't because she was showing off not to respect them, but because the first impression of them and their antics had killed any sign of respect within her. She had witnessed the arrogance and entitlement of the F4 firsthand, which had left a bitter taste in her mouth. Their constant displays of wealth and power only reinforced her belief that they were undeserving of her respect.
Despite her reservations, Jan Di knew that she had to show respect to the senior students, so she stood up, her eyes fixed on Ji Hoo, the only member of the F4 who seemed different from the rest. He had a calm and gentle demeanor, and his mysterious aura drew her in. Although he had flirted with her whenever they met, yesterday she had gotten a chance to read his mind when he had invited her to dinner at a street food stall.
During their time together, he had opened up about his life and shared his likes and dislikes with her. He had not tried to impress her by taking her to an expensive restaurant, but instead, he gave her a tour of his life. As they talked, he became vulnerable, and that's when Jan Di offered her back to him and flew in the air. It was a rare moment for her when she used her powers to help someone else.
Jan Di had always been reserved and cautious with her powers, but something about this moment made her feel a connection to Ji Hoo that she couldn't ignore. As they soared through the sky together, she saw a beautiful smile appear on his face, a sign of freedom he had longed for. The wind whipped through their hair, carrying away any worries or doubts that had burdened them before. It was a moment of pure exhilaration and liberation as if they were both escaping the constraints of their everyday lives.
Jan Di couldn't help but feel a sense of joy and contentment, knowing that she had brought happiness to someone else's life with her abilities. It was a rare moment of vulnerability and connection between two people who were very different from each other.
The class was in the middle of a deep conversation about true love when the teacher asked a question that required introspection. "What does it feel like to experience true love?" the teacher asked, prompting the students to ponder over the question.
The student president was the first to raise his hand, and he spoke eloquently about his thoughts on true love. "I believe experiencing true love feels like finding a missing piece of yourself. It's a feeling of being complete and understood by another person. It's an emotional connection of unconditional acceptance and support, where you can be your truest self without any fear or judgment."
The students nodded in agreement, realizing that true love is more profound than just superficial attraction.
Gu Jun Pyo, however, had a different perspective on true love. He stood up from his seat, objecting to the student president's view. "True love is like a bolt of lightning. When it strikes, it doesn't strike twice in the same place. It's a rare and electrifying connection that ignites passion and transforms your entire world. It's an indescribable feeling that leaves you breathless and constantly craving more."
Jan Di, not one to hold back, rolled her eyes in response to Gu Jun Pyo's analogy. "Like lightning my foot," she mumbled softly to herself.
The teacher chuckled at Jan Di's remark and asked for her opinion. "Ms. Long Hair…what is your opinion about true love?"
With a deep sigh, she gathered her courage and responded, "Firstly, my name is Jan Di, and not Ms. Long Hair. Now, I'd like to know which true love we are discussing here. Are we referring to the love of God, which is known as Agape love? Or are we talking about love between siblings or romantic partners?"
The teacher was impressed by Jan Di's response and raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "That's an interesting point, Jan Di," he said, nodding his head in agreement.
Jan Di continued, "Before we go any further with this debate, let's make sure we all have the same understanding of love. Love can have different meanings and interpretations, depending on the context and individuals involved. So, may I ask all of you, what is love?"
The class was intrigued and eager to delve deeper into the topic. The teacher stood up and asked the first speaker to provide a general definition of love. After a moment of hesitation, the first speaker responded, "Love, in its simplest form, is a deep affection and care for someone or something. It involves selflessness, empathy, and a strong emotional connection."
The class nodded in agreement, and Jan Di took the opportunity to ask Gu Jun Pyo, another student in the class, about his perspective on lightning. "Mr. Gu, what is lightning?"
Gu Jun Pyo paused for a moment, gathering his thoughts before he replied, "Lightning is a natural phenomenon that occurs when there is a discharge of electricity in the atmosphere. It typically happens during thunderstorms and is often accompanied by a bright flash of light and a loud, rumbling sound."
The class was fascinated and listened intently, hoping to learn more about the topic. Jan Di couldn't resist the urge to tease Gu Jun Pyo and asked him, "So, is this the kind of love you wish to have? Like lightning, intense and electrifying?"
Gu Jun Pyo smiled and understood the metaphor. "Yes, commoner. I hope to experience love that is like lightning—passionate and powerful."
The class exchanged curious glances, intrigued by the connection between lightning and love. Jan Di, however, couldn't resist teasing Gu Jun Pyo further, "Which movie did you watch last night that gave you such a lousy idea about love?"
By now, the debate that was meant for the entire class had become Jan Di and Jun Pyo's debate. While Yi Jung and Woo Bin watched the new short girl challenge their tall friend Gu Jun Pyo with interest, Ji Hoo wasn't happy for some reason. He wanted to be the one to argue with her and explain what he had been experiencing for the last three days after their meeting.
He could tell Jan Di hated standing next to Jun Pyo but looking at his friend, he could see something different in his eyes. There was a glimmer of vulnerability and affection that Ji Hoo had never seen before. It made him question if there was a feeling of love he was experiencing.
"What do you mean which movie?" Jun Pyo shot back at her. "For me, it doesn't take long for me to know love and that love is like lightening.
"Love is not what we see in movies." Jan Di said. "Love starts from yourself and how you feel about yourself. It's about accepting and valuing who you are before being able to truly love someone else." Ji Hoo listened intently, realizing that perhaps his own journey of self-discovery was the key to understanding his feelings for Jan Di and finding true happiness.
"This is real life."
"Exactly," Jun Pyo continued to argue. "When love strikes you like a lightening—"
"Why do you keep on comparing love to lightning?" Jan Di interrupted him. "Because if that's the kind of love you want, then you are going to get hurt over and over again. Just take a look at all married couples who have stayed together for all their lives… They didn't experience love like a sudden strike of lightning. It was a gradual process of understanding, compromise, and commitment. True love is built on a foundation of trust, respect, and genuine care for each other's happiness. It's about weathering the storms together and choosing to love each other every day, even when it's not easy." Ji Hoo nodded in agreement, realizing that lasting love required more than just intense passion or fleeting infatuation. It required patience, understanding, and a willingness to grow together as individuals and as a couple."
"And most importantly, it doesn't require to die for each other because if you die, life will still go on and the love you had for each other will be lost. True love is about living for each other, supporting each other's dreams and goals, and creating a future together that is filled with happiness and fulfillment." Ji Hoo smiled as Jan Di turned to look at him understanding that true love was not about sacrificing oneself but rather about building a life together that was worth living. "True love requires some bit of flirting, teasing, and keeping the spark alive in the relationship. It's about constantly making each other feel loved and desired, even after years of being together. True love is also about compromise and understanding, finding a balance between individual needs and shared goals. It's about growing together as individuals while also growing as a couple, always striving to make each other better versions of themselves." Jan Di nodded as Ji Hoo added on her point."
The classroom was abuzz with excitement as the teacher clapped his hands in appreciation. "Wow!" he exclaimed. "This is exactly what we need to do more often to encourage open and meaningful discussions in the classroom. It's evident that when students feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and ideas, it leads to valuable insights and a deeper understanding of the subject matter."
Looking around the room, the teacher acknowledged each participant in turn. "Geum Jan Di, Gu Jun Pyo, Yoon Ji Hoo, and our first speaker, thank you for this discussion. Your insights and perspectives have been truly invaluable."
Jan Di couldn't stop smiling as she looked at Ji Hoo. "What a debate!" she exclaimed. "I never expected the discussion to be this intense."
But Jun Pyo was still frowning, clearly unhappy with the outcome of the debate. He had been convinced that love was like lightning, and he wasn't ready to give up on his argument just yet.
Meanwhile, Ji Hoo noticed Jan Di's smile and offered to get her a drink. "Are you thirsty?" he asked. "I can get you a drink if you'd like."
Jan Di couldn't resist laughing out loud as the debate had been truly entertaining. She had thoroughly enjoyed the discussion and had been equally amused by Gu Jun Pyo's arguments and counter-arguments. Despite the light-hearted atmosphere, Jan Di couldn't shake off an ominous feeling that had crept up on her. She realized that she could never allow herself to fall in love with Gu Jun Pyo, even though she appreciated his intelligence and wit. The thought of being loved by him made her shudder with fear, as she knew that his love would be like a bolt of lightning, capable of destroying everything in its path, including her.
…
Present…
Jan Di's eyes fluttered open, and she found herself in an awkward position. Her first kiss had just happened, but it wasn't with the person she had intended it to be. It had been an accident, and she was relieved that she had avoided Jun Pyo's lips, and her own had instead landed on Ji Hoo's. She felt a surge of different emotions; happiness, embarrassment, surprise, and even a slight bit of excitement. Ji Hoo was holding her up, and everyone in the hallway had noticed the unexpected scene that had just unfolded before them. Some of the bystanders were shocked, of the unexpected kiss between Ji Hoo and Jan Di while others couldn't help but giggle at the situation because of Jun Pyo who had slammed his lips on the locker.
Jan Di could feel her face turning red, and she quickly tried to untangle herself from Ji Hoo's grasp. Her heart was still racing as she tried to compose herself, but it was proving to be a difficult task. As she glanced around, she saw Jun Pyo, who had been pushed from behind by another student and had hit his lips hard on her locker. She couldn't help but feel a sense of amusement at the sight. She secretly smiled at the unexpected turn of events, knowing that this was a moment that she would never forget.
"Hey, are you good?" Ji Hoo asked, still holding her as she was still in the middle of his legs, but this time in the sitting position. "I'm sorry."
Jan Di had just experienced an awkward moment with Ji Hoo, which made her pull away and stand up quickly to regain her composure. She was flustered and embarrassed, and the last thing she wanted was to be caught in such a compromising position, especially with him. She tried to take a deep breath and brush off her clothes, hoping that no one had noticed her blush. As she looked around the hallway, she noticed Ga Eul, who had witnessed the whole scene. Ga Eul's face was a mix of emotions, ranging from surprise to amusement, and even a hint of hurt and confusion. Jan Di couldn't help but wonder what Ga Eul was thinking about the situation.
Jan Di extended her hand towards Ji Hoo, offering to help him get up from the floor. As he took her hand, a small smile formed on her lips, hinting at a certain familiarity and comfort between the two. However, as Ji Hoo rose to his feet, he stumbled ever so slightly, which caused Jan Di to lose her balance and hit the locker behind her. In the process, she accidentally pulled Ji Hoo closer to her, resulting in another unexpected kiss.
As they separated, Ji Hoo couldn't help but tease Jan Di, asking her if she was intentionally planting kisses on him. His playful tone was laced with a hint of flirtation, and it was clear that he was enjoying the moment. Jan Di, on the other hand, blushed at the comment, but her smile revealed that she too was enjoying the unexpected intimacy as if the whole world revolved around them.
"It was unexpected."
And that's it...
At Seo Hyun's party, Jan Di couldn't resist showing off her magical skills by conjuring up beautiful fireworks that lit up the sky. She covered her face in excitement and danced to the rhythm of the music, making the crowd go wild with cheers and applause.
As the night wore on, the lively party began to wind down. Amidst the dwindling crowds and fading music, Ji Hoo and Jan Di sought out a secluded corner of the room where they could steal a few quiet moments together. As they gazed into each other's eyes, a whirlwind of emotions swept over them, and before they knew it, they were swaying in each other's arms to the slow, romantic melody that was playing in the background. Gu Jun Pyo, who had been watching them from afar, couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as he imagined himself in Ji Hoo's position, basking in the sweetness and tenderness of Jan Di's embrace.
The following message is about a sneak peek of a story that is planned for two months later. I intend to develop the characters Ji Hoo, Jan Di, and Gu Jun Pyo in more depth before Seo Hyun's return. I want to explore the relationship between Ji Hoo and Jan Di and make it more meaningful, while Jan Di keeps pushing Gu Jun Pyo into the friend zone.
In the story, Jan Di also bonds with Woo Bin and Yi Jung alongside Ga Eul, who struggles to understand her emotions. Ga Eul feels a twinge of jealousy upon seeing Ji Hoo with Jan Di, even though she is in love with Woo Bin.
I welcome comments on this plot development, whether they are positive or negative. This feedback will help me to improve the story and make it more engaging for readers since I am used to writing scripts
