Journal Entry 04

I was asked to sit this one out by the Elders.

Even though I wanted to help, the Elders told me no. Again.

This time it was about a man named Mark Chao.

Poor Mark.

He died on his birthday. Mark was only twenty-three.

There was an evil man named Tony Wong that wanted to change his life. He wanted to retire from being a criminal. Tony wanted to take over Mark's life. He shot and killed him. Then he burnt the body to make sure that he could take over Mark's life.

Mark needed help. He turned into a spirit and Da Hoi was opened: the gates of Hell opened. The gatekeeper Yama wanted souls, no matter good or evil. Mark desperately tried to contact every psychic in the city. Until he found Phoebe.

Phoebe was trying to pay for a present for Prue's birthday. She got a job as a lounge psychic at a hotel. Mark found Phoebe and Piper at the hotel. He was relieved. They both could see him. Mark followed Piper out of the hotel to convince her that he needed her help.

The sisters discussed what was going to happen to Mark when Phoebe's new job needed her help. The Elders decided to give her a premonition about a man that was going to be hurt in a car accident.

Meanwhile, I checked in on Piper. I wanted to step in and help, but I was told no. It was very frustrating. I could see Piper and Mark connecting. I was worried. He was dead. She was not. I stayed in the Heavens though.

I checked in on Phoebe. She was trying to tell the man named Mr. Correy that he was going to be hurt in the car accident, but he didn't believe her. He and his wife thought that she was stalking him. The Elders and I decided that Phoebe needed to figure this one out on her own. She needed to be able to help others with her powers.

Prue was not having the greatest day. She found out that Andy was previously married and he didn't tell her. I felt bad for her. Andy tried to apologize, but Prue was so upset. She was mainly upset with herself. She had a secret too, but she couldn't tell Andy. Not yet. Andy knew something was up. He knew she had a secret.

Mark took Piper to his home to speak to his mother. His mother had no idea where he was. She hadn't seen him since his birthday. Piper had gone to the police already, but the police hadn't notified her yet of Mark's death. Piper didn't have the heart to tell his mother that he was dead. It was difficult to tell her so Piper left. Mark tried to speak to his mother, but she had an amulet that protected the house.

Phoebe and Prue had a heart to heart. Phoebe let Prue know what she was doing and that she tried to warn an innocent. Phoebe thought that she was going to be in trouble, but Prue surprised her. Prue was happy that Phoebe got a chance to do something right. Then, Mark and Piper came home. There was a report about Mark's body, but it wasn't right. The report identified Mark's body as Tony Wong.

The Elders gave Phoebe a premonition to expose Tony. Piper had an idea to help Mark. She was going to expose Tony to the police by taking a photograph and sending it to the police. However, Tony followed Piper and obtained her license plate. I was worried for her. What if Tony found her? I was worried the entire day. I wanted to help her. I wanted to guide her, but the Elders told me that Piper and her sisters had to figure this out on their own.

Phoebe tried to warn Mr. Correy again.

He didn't believe her. Phoebe ended up saving his life. She felt good. Her powers helped her understand her purpose. I was happy for her.

Mark showed Piper his apartment in the city. He wanted to give back to Piper. He shared his family recipes with her. Piper and Mark connected even more. Mark and Piper went back to the house.

They went to kiss and my heart sank. Piper had no idea what she was getting into.

Tony's men burst into the house and took Piper from her home. Mark called for help and the sisters rushed to his aid. Piper had been kidnapped.

There was so much I wanted to do. I wanted to help. I wanted to be there for the girls, but the Elders told me that I had to stay put.

Then Andy found the information that Piper gave him. He went looking for Tony Wong. Phoebe, Prue, and Mark went to Tony's place in the city. Piper saved Prue's life. Prue saved Piper's life.

Tony rushed into the street, armed. Police were there. Andy was forced to shoot him. Tony instantly became a ghost and Yama came back. Mark gave Yama Tony's spirit. The girls protected Mark.

They were brave.

Yama left and Mark's body was buried. His father came to get him to take him away. To join the afterlife.

I felt Piper's sadness. It wounded me.

Mark gave his thanks and said goodbye.

Prue ended up forgiving Andy and celebrating her birthday, thanks to Mark. Mark told her not to miss her birthday. Birthdays were precious.

Author's Notes: Birthdays were precious was directly from the show in Season 1 episode 4 Dead Man Dating. This was a fun project. I plan to dive into Leo's feelings even more once he really starts showing up for the girls.
