OCWaGH: Chapter 8

It was now close to evening time here in the little town of Peach Creek. We zoomed back in on the new apartments located five minutes away from the Cul-De-Sac, where we could see the Sailor Guardians sitting around Haruka and Michiru's new place alongside the Eds. All of them were reporting to each other about what happened earlier; the two encounters with not only the monsters they fought and defeated but also the two generals that were on the enemy's team. They had also tuned in on the local news to see what they had to say on the matter.

"Earlier today, two strange incidents happened in the downtown Peach Creek area, with the attacks happening in two different locations at the same time," the anchorwoman stated, "Chief Martin Everhart of the Peach Creek Police Department has made a statement about these two attacks."

The scene changed to a video of said person, standing in front of a podium with a lot of mics. Hotaru could also see the young detective from before standing alongside the chief.

"After gathering various eye whiteness statements and examining the two scenes, we've concluded that these were no ordinary attacks," the chief said to the press, "As to who or what is responsible for these attacks, we do not know yet. We will be looking into it further so that it does not happen again."

The chief turned to the young detective beside him, "My assistant did find something on one of the scenes that could be related to these attacks."

The young detective took out the purple medal he found before, the one with the symbol of Saturn on it, "The symbol on this strange medal could be related to a type of cult," the chief continued to say.

Everyone in the room widened their eyes at what the young detective had on him.

"If you have any information about both incidents, please contact us," the chief concluded, "Thank you very much."

Haruka made a loud sigh before turning off the TV, "Well, that's less than ideal," she said to everyone, "I'm sure that piece of evidence won't point directly to us, but it will make it a lot harder for us to fight the new enemy if the police think that the attacks were part of a cult."

Michiru nodded her head, "Yes, this could mean the town has very tight security from this point onward…"

The Eds were silent to what they said before Double D spoke up, "Wait a moment, the medal that was found on the scene looks like the ones we have, does it not?"

Everyone turned to Double D, "If the medal is the same as ours, it means that one of the officers who examined the scenes could be an ally to us!" he concluded.

"… I see the point you're making," Michiru stated, "If that's true, then teaming up with them means teaming up with the police. It could help us in the long run to cooperate with them, just so they do not try to make things worse for us."

"Wait, are you seriously considering telling them about the enemy?!" Haruka questioned with slight anger, "If we did that, they would probably never leave us alone by putting us under surveillance!"

"Now, now, calm down. I don't think we should tell the entire department," Ami stated, "I do agree that we need to find out which officer on the scene found the medal so that we can find out from there if we need to tell them about the enemy or not."

"… I'll go find them."

Everyone turned to Hotaru with surprise, "The medal had the symbol of Saturn on it, so I'm the one that has to figure this out."

"Y-You're not doing that alone!" Usagi gasped to her, "I'll come with you."

"Me too!" Ed stated with a fast nod of his head in determination.

Haruka stared at the three teens before making a sigh again, "Okay, fine. We will be waiting for you three to come back later. I'm sure traveling in a big group would cause suspicion, so just you three should go. Call or text us back with what you've learned."

'Oh dear, Ed is going to the police station without me or Eddy?' Double D thought with worry, 'I hope he doesn't do or say anything unfortunate…'

About thirty minutes later, we see Ed, Usagi, and Hotaru standing in front of the police station, debating to themselves if they truly want into the building. Haruka was also there, but standing further away, just in case something went wrong for them.

Hotaru made a sigh before turning to her friends, "Come on, we need to find the officer that found that medal."

Ed and Usagi nodded their heads as the three of them walked into the building in front of them. It was about twenty seconds later that two other people entered the building, hoping to talk to the officers about the medal as well.

Hotaru went up to the front desk while Ed and Usagi decided to stand back, just in case, "Umm, excuse me…" Hotaru started to say to the receptionist at the desk, "Is there a way to talk to someone about the incidents earlier today? I, umm, wanted to report something weird I saw about it that the officers might want to know."

The person at the desk looked at her before nodding her head, "Of course, hold on a moment."

The receptionist went to pick up the phone near her to dial a number as Ed and Usagi walked back over to Hotaru. It took a second for the other person to pick up, "Hello, Mr. Everhart? It seems a witness has come to talk to you about the incidents today," there was a small pause, "You're welcome," she replied before hanging up, "Detective Everhart will be here shortly."

"T-Thank you…" Hotaru replied before she and the other two teens stepped away a little from the desk.

It was as they walked to the side that they could see two teen boys both walking up to the desk like Hotaru did before. They could vaguely hear what the two boys were saying before the receptionist pointed to the three of them, "I believe these kids also want to talk to Mr. Everhart. You two should wait with them if you don't mind."

The three teens widened their eyes as the two teen boys walked over to them. The two boys were Erik and Scott, but this group did not know that.

"Huh, are you guys here about the weird incident too?" Scott asked.

"Y-Yeah!" Usagi replied nervously.

Erik looked at Ed for a second before realizing, "Hey, you're one of Eddward's friends, right? I ran into him earlier today."

"… Wait, I also ran into Eddy earlier," Scott commented, "He's also your friend, right?"

"Yep!" Ed replied with a big smile, "They're my best friends!"

It was a few seconds later that they could see someone approaching them. It was the same young detective from before; from the crime scene and the one at the press conference, "Are you the ones that contacted us about the incident?" Robin asked.

Hotaru slowly nodded her head, "Yes," she stated before slightly narrowing her eyes, "Is there a place to talk besides here?"

Robin looked at Hotaru for a second in confusion from the face she made, but shook it off, "Of course, follow me."

The group of teens soon went to a room with a glass window you could not see on the other side. Of course, this made the teens nervous, seeing that it was very possible they were being monitored by someone on the other side of the window.

"Now then," Robin started to say as he turned to the group, "You said you saw something about the incident, correct?"

"Well, Scott and I weren't there when the attacks happened," Erik started to say before he began to reach into his back pocket, "But when I saw that weird-colored medal you showed off on the news, I had to come here to show you this."

Both Erik and Scott pulled out two medals of their own; a green and orange medal with the symbols of Jupiter and Venus on them, "Are these related to what you found?" Scott asked.

Usagi and Hotaru grew pale at the sight of what they held in their hands, "Wh…"

Ed, on the other hand…

"Wow! You got one too? That's so neat!" Ed said with a big smile, "Now I have more new friends to hang out and kick butt with!"

The three other teen boys in the room stared at Ed, "… What?"

"Oh! Uh… D-Don't mind him!" Usagi said with a loud, nervous laugh, "Ed always says random things as a joke!"

Hotaru made a sigh, "Usagi, now I'm positive we can't hide this now. Don't try to cover it up," she then turned to the three teen boys, "We know what these medals are."

"Really?" they questioned as Robin took out the purple medal he was keeping as evidence, "What are they then?" Robin asked.

Hotaru was silent for a moment before saying, "Is there anyone behind the window there? Only you three need to know about this; no one else."

"No, I didn't ask for any officers to enter that room before coming here…" Robin stated before narrowing his eyes, "Please, tell us what's going on."

Meanwhile, back at the Soul Breakers Bar…

"You. Two. IDIOTS!"

Mira and Reed both flinched at Jonah and Clover's loud yells at them.

"Whatever happened to the plan to make these attacks discreet, like Lord Krishna wanted?!" Clover continued to say to the two, "Do you two NOT know what that means?! It means focusing on ONE TARGET at a time!"

"I-It honestly slipped our minds!" Reed yelped.

"Yeah, we're sorry! Really!" Mira replied, "Our attacks won't be like that again, promise!"

Both Jonah and Clover sighed in irritation, "Geez… I think I need another drink," Jonah muttered before walking away, "It's bad enough that the attacks were already reported on the news, but man…"

"Thankfully, I don't think the authorities will ever find us here," Clover stated, "Lord Krishna has put a type of barrier around this building which prevents people from seeing it normally, kind of like a veil."

"That's good to know, at least," Mira sighed with relief.

"… Hey Miiira! ~"

Mira looked at Reed with annoyance, "What?"

"I found a really hot chick in town to replace you with!" Reed stated with a cocky smile, "Now I don't need you around as baggage anymore once I find her again and ask her out."

"WH – How DARE you!" Mira growled, "I also found a cool guy too! I wanna see if I can ask him out if I see him again!"

"HA! I bet they're lame."

"YOURS is probably lame too, you ass!"

Jonah and Clover both sighed in irritation at their childish arguing.

"… And that's basically what we know so far."

The three teen boys all stood there as Ed, Usagi, and Hotaru explained the situation to them along with a little bit about the Sailor Guardians; all of them were very skeptical at what they heard.

"I know it's a lot to take in, but it's all true," Hotaru said to them, "The reason we approached and explained things to you is because you found that medal. It means you also have powers just like us."

"… You gotta be joking, right?" Scott asked in disbelief.

Erik put his hands to his head, "This doesn't feel real…"

Robin stayed silent to the story they told, "Honestly… when you started to explain these monsters, the crime scenes I saw finally started to make a lot more sense to me. We could tell there was something very weird and unnatural about the scenes, along with the victims being very lethargic when we talked to them; like they had no emotions like you described."

"Umm, well, there is something we need to say," Usagi stated, "We need to keep our identities a secret to everyone for safety reasons. But now, you have a medal of your own and can help us with this enemy. I don't want the police to get involved but having them know that we don't mean to cause any trouble when fighting this threat will be a good thing."

Usagi looked down to the floor, "When the monsters attacked earlier, my friends did our best to help everyone and, well… Not only are we here to defeat this new threat, but we also want to protect everyone here!"

Usagi could feel herself clenching her right hand into a fist, "I don't want any more deaths to happen to the people closest to me! It's too much…!"

She could feel herself being hugged from her right side, "Please don't be sad, Usagi!" Ed said to her, "You still have your friends!"

Three teens were silent to her words before Robin made a heavy sigh, "Alright, fine. I'll see what I can do to help you out."

"Huh?!" both Erik and Scott questioned.

"I can't promise any immediate results, but I'll try to explain to my dad what's going on," Robin continued to say, "It's like you said; having the police involved with something supernatural like this is not the best course of action. But having us being aware of it and knowing you'll help stop it is an entirely different matter."

"Really? You'll do that for us?!" Usagi asked as Ed let her out of his hug.

Robin nodded his head, "My dad is the chief officer for the department, so he has a lot of power in making decisions like this," he then gestured to the camera at the corner of the room, "This conversation is being recorded, by the way, but I'll make sure no one on the force sees the footage besides my dad."

Usagi and Hotaru made a sigh of relief while Ed looked at the camera to wave at it, "Hello!"

Erik and Scott looked at each other, "So, where does that leave us?" Erik asked.

"We should try to meet up at the apartments we're currently staying at tomorrow. We need to discuss more details, and you three need to meet everyone else," Hotaru stated, "The condo is a pretty big size for a meeting, surprisingly enough."

"Alright, we'll be there!" Scott replied with a smile, "Honestly, I wanna know more about this; sounds like something from a comic book."

The six teens began to exit the room, with four of them walking back to the front desk, "I'll talk to my dad about this later tonight," Robin stated to Hotaru, "I'll tell you how it went at the meeting tomorrow."

"Thank you, that would help us out a lot. Goodbye!" Hotaru replied before waving goodbye and walking away to the front desk alongside her friends.

Robin stood there for a moment before looking at the purple medal he had in his hand, "I remember hearing about Sailor Moon from a website about a year ago; the mysterious vigilante that's behind so many strange cases in Tokyo," he stated to himself, "I didn't think those kinds of rumors were true, let alone knowing there's more than just her doing the fighting."

He made a sigh to himself as he pocketed his medal, "I should go get the recording of our conversation now before someone else does. That would be awkward."
