Capital City Stage
The bridge was packed with action as Mega Man X sped up and fired at the Mavericks and Wily Bots with his buster cannon.
Three Spider Tanks fired their Magma projectiles.
X saw the upcoming hazard and leapt in midair. At the same moment, he charged his buster cannon and fired at the Spider Bots.
One Spider Tank was destroyed, the other two reacted.
X landed on his feet and aimed his buster cannon at the other two, effectively avoiding the Magma projectiles while charging his weapons. He released his charged shot at the other Spider Tank.
The second Spider Tank was blown up, causing the last one to charge at the Maverick Hunter.
Mega Man X dashed forward and performed a sidekick dash under the Spider, then turned around and fired his charged shot at the last Spider.
The third Spider Tank was blown up.
Thereafter, X continued onward.
"Alia, how many are there?" X said as he fired his buster cannon at the approaching enemies while running.
Alia: A lot of em... Including that one Wily Bot Mad Grinder, which Marty has already taken out... it can be noted that Sigma can produce these old Wily Machines if there is an abandoned assembly facility and warehouses.
"Or it could be reconstructed via junkyard," Mega Man X said, firing his Buster Cannon at a NEO Jet Buton, which was destroyed after it took a hit.
Alia: That can be debatable, X. Anyway, stay sharp with these Wily Bots it's a little weird that Prince is sending most of them to attack the Capital while we aren't looking.
"Prince must have assumed that the Capital defense was weak," X said, leaping over the destroyed section of the bridge.
Alia: That must be why they are sending out those antiques to attack the city.
X landed on his feet as he looked up at the sky, "Alia any update on Zero's condition?"
Alia: He has powered down and is being taken care of by Lifesaver but other than that, he should be okay.
"Good," X ran forward, "After this, we should be able to finely help Zero find Iris."
Alia: Agreed.
Above Mega Man X there is a giant Winged Flying Mecha hovering over the city. The female Maverick sat in the cockpit, scanning the area and giving directions to these stupid old, Wily Bots. They were sppouse to hold on to the city and Case Mayhem as long as possible while her Brother was making his getaway from the Hunter's sights. However, the City's defense forces put up a stronger resistance than she had expected, and now she is ticked off at the fact that Mad Grinder was destroyed by that Mermaid tramp.
Natalia spotted X running down the bridge and said, "Perfect timing, Mega Jerk, I've been thinking about taking you out to the Junk Pile. Hey, Bro, are you seeing this?"
Prince: Ignore him for now, he is not a concern for us. Plus, he could destroy your creation.
Natalia blinked in surprise, "What..." she said flatly, "I came prepared for nothing?"
Prince:No, not nothing. Take a look at the monitor screen.
Natalia huffed, "There is nothing a vilie- Wait." She scanned the Military headquarters building, which was being raided by those Wily Bots, and contained lethal data chips.
Prince: Now, do you see?
"Yea, thanks for the heads-up, Bro... Now I can upgrade this Mecha," She smirked, "Hey, Fly Boys! Deal with Mega Creep and Mermaid Barbie for me, will ya?"
A loud screech could be heard from outside her cockpit.
Warning! Warning! Warning!
Mega Man X looked up and then jumped out of the way as a blast hit the bridge. A large Green Griffith-type mechanoloid swoops down and lands.
X can admittedly tell that this mechanoloid is a new type of Maverick from Sigma. It had the logo of the Mavericks on its forehead, had yellow, sharp talons, and was equipped with laser blasters and a long, tiger-like tail with a sharp electric volt tazer at the end.
The Griffith screeched as it pounced toward X, but he doggedly fired back. The Griffith quickly turned aournd to face X as it activated its deflector sheid and blocked the buster fire.
"What? Alia, any ideas?" X said as he dogged the laser fire from the Griffith.
Alia: Try getting around the Maverick; grab its tail. My readings say it's unguarded.
"Copy!" He said this as he charged at Griffith.
Marty was flown back and crashed into an office building and a room there. She gritted her teeth when her body broke the office deck in half, and a couple of white papers and a computer monitor were atop her.
She brushed the office equipment aside with her trident that she held on to and got back up. Her eyes widened when a white ball of energy came toward her position, and in response, she ran out the door and to the work area. The force of the blast started knocking her back down on her face again.
"Really?" Marty spat as she pushed herself back up again. She reached for her earpiece.
"Guys, how are you holding up?"
Maverick Hunter Grunt: Not good! Griffith's shield is too strong.
"Hang on, I'll be right down."
Maverick Hunter Grunt: Yes, ma'am.
Marty looked around and scanned the building, "Ha, gotcha bird brain." She dashed to the top.
13 minutes later
X fired one shot at the Griffith from the rear, which caused it to flip midair and crash on its back. He grabbed its tail and started twirling around until he finally let go, sending it flying at a high altitude.
He then finished it off with a charged blast and fired at the Maverick. It didn't see what was coming until it was too late and exploded from contact.
"This is X I have taken out the Maverick."
Alia: Good job, but we're not out of the woods... My readings indicate another Griffith in the location where Marty is. And X, I'm also reading that Natalia is at the UN Defense Military Building.
"What could she be doing- Wait she said she's building a mecha. She wants to steal something from the UN."
Alia: You might be right, but enough of that, go help Marty!
"Copy!"
Marty was finally on top of the building, "I am on top of the building, are you keeping it busy?"
Maverick Hunter Grunt: Please hurry, Boss! It's getting angry.
Marty grunted and looked down. It was the same spot where the tails made her fly before. It haven left, good.
Marty jumped down with her trident and pointed at the bird bot.
The Griffith's tail whipped the Hunters, causing them to fall backward. It screeched until it detected something and looked up.
"Let's see if your shield can wistane this, bird brain!" Her Trident plunged through the barrier and into the head of the Maverick with a powerful force.
*BOOM*
The Hunters grunted as they covered themselves from the choking debris. After the smoke was cleared, they stood in awe at the sight of Marty standing in triumph with her Trident, pieces of the Maverick scattered.
They clapped and cheered, "What a go, boss!"
Marty flipped her hair and said, "It was nothing."
X ran up to Marty's group and saw her men cheering for her. He looked up as he saw her standing proudly with a patch of sun beaming towards her.
"Um, well, at least she's okay," X remarked. He felt the need to scratch his helmet, but he doesn't have an ich and he's a Reploid.
He turned around and reached for his helmet, "Alia, any thoughts to report. What of Natalia?"
Alia: The good news is that the Mavericks and Wily Bots are retreating, thanks in part to Amber Beetle and his squad.
"What's the bad news?"
Alia: It's Natalia; she got away. Amber Beetle tried to stop her, but her mech is stronger than expected. He's badly damaged.
"Oh no. I hope he's okay."
Alia: He will be X. We are sending him for repairs.
"That's good," X signed in relief.
"Hey, look, it's X," A Hunter cheered. X turned around to meet the cheers and claps of his comrades.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Marty walked up to X, "So, any updates?"
Mega Man X shook his head and said, "No. The Mavericks, along with the Wily Bots, are retreating. What's more, Natalia was leading them."
The Blond Mermaid Reploid scoffed, "Prince's little sister... figures."
"Amber Beetle was hurt by the mecha that she was piloting on." This news has caused confusion among the Hunter group. The Idea that someone as brilliant, cunning, and kind could lose to someone like that Maverick?
"That could be a problem, without Zero to back us up, that is," Marty crossed her arms.
X looked down and sighed, "He is recovering, though we don't know how long he will be in power down."
Marty rolled her eyes and said, "Hopefully not too long. We've got a war to win."
X nodded in agreement, but he knows that Zero's heart and body are elsewhere. This is why it is crucial that helping Zero save Iris be at the top of the next agenda. It can't be anything else, Zero and Iris could be in danger.
Recovery Tent
"IRIS!" Zero bolted up from the recovery bed, his hand reaching out. He looked around, trying to scan the area, but he felt disoriented. He saw Lifesaver standing beside him.
"Good evening, Zero," Lifesaver smiled. Zero merely blinked before gaining his poster.
"Did we stop the Colony?" Zero asked as he sat up on the side of the bed.
"Yeah, we did, thanks to you," Lifesaver said.
"Good," Zero signed in relief.
"We should be ready and going soon... We have to wait before we find out our next course of action."
"I see," Zero's gaze has been lowered to the news, "How long will that be?"
"Not too long, I hope. Signas has to report back to the RRC about the recent attack on the Capital City and about our next plan."
Zero did not like the sound of that. He was unable to rely on the RRC to act in accordance with Iris's best interests, as they were likely to prolong the matter, and in the event of a resolution, he would be unable to save her. He cannot wait for a moment for them to decide.
No, he can't lose Iris. He can't and he won't.
A medic Reploid came in and said, "Lifesaver, do you have a minute?"
Lifesaver turned around to face his employee, "Okay, I'll be right out." He then faced Zero.
"I'll be right back," Lifesaver assured.
Zero nodded, "Take your time."
