I was glad when I was finally able to be done the next day. It had been a quiet day with no surprises and I was grateful for that. I had stayed at Cruz's the night before and I wanted to get home. I had stayed out late with Santos, and while he was fun... I had Carlito. I turned around after locking the door to see Santos standing there.

"Hola." I said and he handed me some flowers. I smiled as I took them.

"I wanted to see if you wanted to get dinner." He said.

"I have plans." I lied.

"With Colon?" He asked me.

"With my boyfriend." I corrected him and he chuckled.

"You can do better." He said and I shook my head. People were always telling me what they thought I needed.

"I don't know what Cruz promised you in what deal if you spent time with me or dated or whatever... but I know the difference between being a person and a being a pawn." I said and he looked surprised. I had been in this position before and I didn't feel like dealing with it again.

"I had fun last night and whatever your brother promised me has nothing to do with this." He said and I pursed my lips. I had heard it all.

"I have been in this my entire life. I think you are nice, but I am with Lito. I am up for friends, but respect that." I finally said and handed him the flowers back.

"Keep them, they are from a friend." He said and walked off. I wasn't sure why I felt bad for having to tell him that. I got in my car and went home. I found Carlito waiting for me in the driveway. He helped me grab my things. I wasn't expecting him, but I wasn't mad he was here.

"You have an admirer?" He asked me with a hint of jealousy.

"I bought them for myself." I lied and he nodded.

"I can buy you flowers every day, carino." He said and I looked at him. He looked unsure of himself. I had known him a long time and that's the first time I had seen him look like that.

"I'm used to doing a lot myself. I didn't mean..." I was saying when he cut me off with a kiss. He pulled away and looked at me.

"I just realize how stupid I was for not asking you out a long time ago." He said when we pulled away.

"We all have stupid moment." I said and he chuckled as I put my stuff down.

"I wanted to know if you wanted to go to Melissa's for dinner?" He asked me and honestly... I didn't.

"Will you be mad if I say I want a night just for us?" I asked him and he gave a soft smile.

"No, I won't." He said and pulled me to him.

"We can get food delivered." He said and I nodded. I changed as he poured us some wine. He started the fire pit as I came back and got our wine glasses. I cuddled up to him on the lounger and I felt safe in his arms.

I woke up the next morning in my bed and looking over to see Carlito asleep next to me. It was 4am. I don't remember even going to bed. I was still in my clothes from the night before. I sat up and carefully got out of bed as not to wake him. I got ready for the day, left a note, a key to lock up, and told him to meet me for dinner tonight.

I couldn't believe I had fallen asleep on him. I got to my shop and got started for the day. I had just unlocked the door when the doorbell went off. I wasn't feeling it today, but I put on a smile and walked out. My smile instantly turned to shock when I saw who was standing in my cafe.

Cruz POV

I was sitting with Santos for lunch. We were meeting to finalize a partnership for a new location. He was going to be a backer for another club.

"So, you and Izzy seemed to hit it off." I said and he save a tense smile.

"Yeah, but she's in love with Colon." He said and I nodded. I had know Carlito and his family since we were younger. I knew that Dad liked the idea, but I didn't. I knew of Carlito's past... they didn't.

"Keep trying if you want that extra percentage." I said and he smirked.

"She knows you're pushing me." He said and I shrugged.

"Then you aren't trying hard enough to fake it." I said.

"I can't believe you are doing this to your own sister." He finally said and I smirked.

"You just don't understand our family. Dad would have sold her off years ago if he had made a promise to mom." I said before laying down some money.

Zelina POV

I walked into the cafe around closing to see if Izzy wanted to have a girls night. She came out, but something seemed off.

"You look like you need a girls night." I said and she shook her head.

"Plans." She simply stated and I looked at her. I could see small bruises from her arms.

"Izzy..." I said and she saw me looking at her arms.

"I'm clumsy... I have plans tonight so I'll catch you another night." She said and waved it off. I had known her for a long time. I knew something wasn't right.

"Iz..." I was saying when she cut me off.

"Z, there are things you still don't get." She said and shut me down. She usually wasn't like this. She told me everything. She was hiding something. I pulled her into a hug, grabbed a coffee, and left. I was going straight to my husband... someone had laid hands on her and upset her.
