Chapter Nineteen
While the last battle of Hogwarts was taking place, Pandora was being bombarded with vision's left and right, visions that didn't quite make since to her. She saw the Dark Lord dead at the hands of Rouge Death Eater, and Dumbledore dying before he could chose the new Minister of Magic. She knew she had to tell the others what she had seen and maybe with their help make sense of it. But that was for another day and time, right now they were celebrating the engagement of Mia and Murphy and to her that was more important than her visions.
Xeno heard about what happened from his contacts within the school, so he published a special Edition of the Quibbler:
Dark Lord defeated at the battle for Hogwarts!
Was the headline that was going make his profits skyrocket for the next few months, he quickly wrote up the article leaving nothing out. He talked about how a Rouge Death Eater took it upon himself to defeat the Dark Lord by using a Avada to the back, how he then disappeared in a puff of black smoke leaving the deteriorating body of the Dark Lord behind in a cloud of smoke. How the remaining Death Eaters were rounded up and placed in the deepest part of the dungeons to await trial once the Ministry is back in working order.
He wrote well into the next morning before publishing it and sending it off to his readers around the world.
By time morning came in America, people were reading about the Battle and how the English Dark Lord was now gone and how a Rouge Death Eater had a hand it. Remus was one of the few that subscribed to the Quibbler after placing that ad for James to find, he was in total disbelief about what he was reading. Had a Rouge Death Eater really killed the Dark Lord with one shot to the back, was it finally safe for them to return home. Not that he expected Mia and the other's to return, no they had lives outside the Wizarding World, and it needed to stay that way. Looking at the calendar he had just over three weeks until his next visit with James and the others.
For now, he would talk to Dora and her family to see what they wanted to do, stay or return was the big question that needed to be answered by all parties in the house not just him.
Pandora was having a hard time sleeping, she had nagging feeling she needed to go grab a copy of the Quibbler, but it was too early for it to be published. She quickly and quietly as not to wake Mia, snuck out of the flat and made her way to the Alley. Upon arriving she noticed a lot of people standing around newsstand talking about the Quibbler's special edition headline, she quickly scooped a copy up and went straight back the flat.
Once there she read what everyone had been talking about, now part of her visions made sense which meant Dumbledore would be dying sooner rather than later. By the time Mia woke up in time for morning Mass, Pandora had read and reread the entire paper five times; "Well good news from back home, it seems a Rouge Death Eater took out the Dark Lord with one sell placed Avada to the back. Which means the war is over and it's safe for some of us to return home, well once we are rid of Dumbledore than it will be completely safe. But according to my vision's that's not far off from now, he is dying from a cursed object that he handled like an idiot. I think I will return after Frank's wedding, I am needed here until then, after that the three of you don't need me anymore. Your future's don't include me in them anymore, I was never meant to go farther into the future with you guys, I was meant to be here as long as I was no more. My future lies with my perfect match, which is getting closer and closer with each day, you three will do fine without me.
"We will meet again someday in the future, I just can't when or where but just know I will always be your friend Mia." She said once Mia had a cup of coffee in her system.
What a bombshell to drop first thing in the morning, but Pandora was right the three of them were going to be just fine. They wouldn't need her anymore, they got on fine before her and they will get along even better after she was gone. Then it hit her, they were almost home free to be themselves again, to get back to being Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Frank Longbottom. Well, she just might keep the Mia part of her name since it was easier to pronounce, and she had gotten used to hearing Murphy say it.
God, she was engaged now to Murphy, and she couldn't be happier, he was everything she never knew she wanted in a fiancée.
"We need to talk to James and Frank, it looks like we are taking a trip to New York since he is busy with wedding plans and helping his parents recover. It was group decision to use the names we choose and now it needs to be a group decision if we go back to our original names." Mia said just she was getting in shower to start her day.
"About that Mia, I think we should go back to our original names or least James, Frank, and I; you should keep Mia, after all you look more like a Mia now than you do a Hermione. It's what Murphy knows you as anyways, we wouldn't to confuse an Irishman if we wanted that we could always confuse Seamus." Pandora said over the water.
Mia just hummed in agreement, confusing Seamus was always a fun thing to do especially when he was tying to turn water into wine and wind up blowing up his goblet instead. Hell, that boy could make the smallest things explode without real effort, she couldn't help but wonder if he made it out safely along with Dean Thomas. Shaking her head of such thoughts, she continued to get ready for the day with Murphy.
With the news of war in England over spreading like wildfire, a lot of people were coming out of hiding; mostly muggleborns who had hid for their safety. Bill and his family emerged from the Veela Community to join the world around them, in Romania the Dragon Keepers were celebrating the end of the war in their own way.
People around the world woke up to the news that the Dark Lord was gone and it was now safe to walk around public.
Rita Skeeter was mad, she wanted to be the one to break the news of the downfall of the Dark Lord from her own perspective, not through that rag the Quibbler. But somehow they had beaten her to the punch, and she wasn't happy about it. She saw this a way to get her job back at the Prophet, instead she was reading about it as if it was secondhand knowledge.
Molly, Ron, and Ginny were also mad but for totally different reasons, they were upset that the war was over before they could find Harry and get their grubby little hands on his money. They needed that money more than before, ever since the loss of Arthur they have been living on their savings in which they were quickly running out of it, and nobody seemed fit to find work.
Fred and George finally got approval to reopen their joke shop in Wizarding Boston and permission to attend Wizarding Yale to further careers as business owners, Katie Bell and Angelian Johnson were also going back to school so they can help the boys run the shop.
Frank jumped for joy when he read the paper that morning, he was free to be Neville Longbottom again, he was free to marry under his real name and not have to hide anymore. He had made the choice months ago to stay in Boston and continue to work at the Meat Packing plant, plus helping out in the bakery when he could. He didn't want to return to England, he might when his gran dies but not before then, he had everything he could ever want right here in America.
He knew that he was growing apart from the others and for once it didn't scare him to be alone, after all he had Queenie and her family with him now and soon his parents would be back to normal. Hopefully they would want to stay here in America with their only son rather than returning home to England, he could only bring up the idea once they were better.
When James found out he was shocked, shocked that a Rouge Death Eater was the one to kill the Dark Lord instead of him or Frank. He knew it was a matter of time before he had a choice of returning or staying wherever Mia was going to be. He had a feeling that with the next year Mia would be making the trek back across the Pond this time to Ireland for good, he didn't know why she was going to be leaving just that she was going to be leaving. So, he figured if he stayed with her, he would go with her to Ireland; after all her kids were going to want to have another fun uncle growing up.
He wasn't going to be at all like his Uncle Vernon and treat his niece's or nephews the way he was treated, nobody deserves that at all. He was going to spoil them and then send them back home hopped up sugar and other sweets. He just needed to get with Conor about who was going to spoil the future children first, he already knew that any child would be powerful for a half-blood. He would be there to teach them all about Quidditch and broom flying, how to prank and get away with it (as long as they didn't prank their mother).
He was already making plans and they just got engaged last night, he needed them time to be Mia and Murphy before hounding them for Nieces and nephews to spoil. He knew if Mia were to find out what he was planning, she would find a wand just to hex him into next week. Soon James Evans was going to be a thing of the past and Harry Potter would be making his grand return, not to the magical world oh no, they could go to hell in a handbasket for all he cared. No, he would be returning to Muggle world as Harry James Potter, the man who chose to live the way he wanted.
Dumbledore was also pissed, someone had spilled the beans of what went on during the Battle, he wanted to keep it a secret for just a little while more so he could find Harry and deliver him on a Silver Platter to his most loyal supporters the Weasley's. Once he was dosed with enough love potion to kill a hippogriff, he would sign over his inheritance to Ginny Weasley just to have a tragic accident before the wedding.
Of course, he knew his time was running out so needed to find Harry fast, before he died a painful death due to the cursed ring he put on before destroying. He didn't have a back up plan this time around, no scape goats that he could throw in Azkaban to rot away for crimes they didn't commit. He was on his own this time without the help of his Ministry Plants to help.
