Gemma's House: Morning 7am
Upstairs in Gemma's room, her birds are squawking quietly in their cage while Nero is sound asleep and Gemma is already awake leaning against the door frame of her bathroom just staring at him after a few moments she walks over to her bed sighing dropping down to her knees closing her eyes clasping her hands together bowing her head a bit and silently begins praying.
Suddenly Nero stirs a bit slowly opening his eyes looking at her
"Good Morning" he says, sleepily
"Mm" she opens her eyes looking over at him stopping praying
Standing up she leans over to him giving him a kiss on his lips
"I'm so glad you're home" she says, smiling
"Me too" he says
"I'll make you some coffee" she says, standing back up walking out of the room
Minutes later Gemma returns to the room with a cup of coffee like Nero likes his and a cup of coffee how she likes hers and the newspaper handing first the coffee to him "careful, it's hot" she warned
"Thanks, Mama" he said, taking the newspaper from her
She puts her cup down on the side table for a moment getting back into the bed picking her cup again blowing on it then taking a sip putting it down
The paper rustles as Nero opens it up starting to read
"Hopefully we didn't make the front page today" Gemma commented, pulling the covers over herself
He looks inside commenting surely "Nope, doesn't look like it"
"Well I got my own headline you need to hear" she said, looking over at him "Didn't want to tell you last night, step on the homecoming"
"Front page stuff?" he questioned looking over at her
"What's going on?" he asked, curiously
"It's me and Tara...shit happened" she said, sighing starting to tell Nero everything that went down between her and Tara.
"Wow" he said, trying to take it all in
"That's some crazy-ass shit, Mama" he commented
"Yeah, I know" she said
"Can you prove any of it?" he asked, still looking at her
"Wendy was in on it with Tara, guilt got to her" she explained "I think she'll back me up"
"You're talking about a father trying to wrap his brain around some seriously heinous betrayal by the woman he loves, mother of his son" Nero told her
"I think you might need more than the word of a junkie" he said, truthfully
"Now I know you're trying, Mama" he said
"The struggle I'm having with that shit that's-that's not your burden" she said, truthfully
"Thanks for not doubting me" she smiles, continuing "Or at least not showing me that you do"
"You got some heavy secrets, Gem" he said, continuing "I see them, how they drain the joy from you"
"But your babies, I know you'd never spin the truth about that" he said insistently
"I love you" she smiled, giving him a quick kiss on his lips
"I love you too, Mama" he said, smiling back
"Let's stay in bed all day" she suggested
"Sounds good to me, but...first breakfast" he put the newspaper down on the table
"Okay" she says, smiling
"Do you want to cook it together?" she asked
"Yeah" he said, getting up going over to her side of the bed grabbing her hand and he helps her up
They walk into the kitchen together
"What do you want to eat?" she asked, looking up at him
"Anything as long as we are together" he replied, letting go of her hand
"That's not an answer, baby" she pointed out taking him into her arms
"Okay, pancakes and sausage, eggs and bacon" he said, her widen a bit
"Wow, are you going back to prison or something?" she joked
"Funny, Mama, no I'm just hungry that prison food is shit" he said
"Mm so true" she agreed smiling, letting him go
"Well why don't I make the pancakes and sausage while you make the bacon and eggs?" she asked
"Sure, Mama" he smiled
And without another word they start making breakfast together while stealing loving glances at each other and flirtatious smiles.
One Hour Later: 8am
Breakfast is done Gemma walks over to the cupboard grabbing two plates, Nero grabs two forks from the silverware drawer and two glass and the orange juice from the fridge opening the carton and pouring juice into their glasses placing the juice back into the fridge and closing the door.
Gemma hands Nero a plate and she starts filling her own plate with some bacon, eggs, pancakes and the sausage leaving the rest for him.
"There you go, Pimp daddy, all yours" she smiled, walking over to the table setting her plate down buttering her pancakes then putting syrup on them taking a seat in the empty chair she starts eating her breakfast.
Nero quickly fills up his plate with the rest of the left over food and sits down across from her buttering his pancakes and putting syrup on them and starting to eat himself.
"Mm, Mama, we made a great breakfast together" he commented, chewing some of his pancake swallowing it.
"Yeah" she nodded, as she picked up a piece of her bacon eating it

Another Hour Later: 9am
"Whew!" Gemma commented "I'm finished"
"Me too, Mama" he smiled, standing up grabbing their dishes from the table
"Mama, you go into the bedroom and I'll met you in there, I'll clean up" he said
"Are you sure?" she asked "You just got home" she pointed out
"I'm sure, go" he waves her away
"Okay" she stands up going over to him giving him another kiss on his lips before walking back upstairs
Ten minutes later Nero returns to the bedroom getting underneath the covers with Gemma whose already there.
"I'm back, Mama" he whispered into her ear
"I know" she whispered
They both laying down on the pillows moving closer to each other Nero wraps his arms around her and her wraps around his waist
"Mama..can you,,?" he asked, whispering
"You sure?" she asked, looking up at him flirtatiously
He nodded "Yeah"

"Here we'll need these it's probably hot as hell out there by now" she warned

They walk out of the kitchen and over to the front door opening it stepping outside instantly feeling the sticky heat on their bodies closing the door behind them.

"Yeah I don't know about it either, but lets just try and walk we need the exercise" she said

The two walk down the steps together and start walking slowly down the sidewalk
"I can barely breathe, baby" she says, wiping the sweat from her forehead

After awhile of walking they walk by the ice cream shop
"Babe" she looks through the window
"Lets go inside and get some ice cream, it's too hot to stay out here" he suggested
"Good idea" she agreed
The two go inside and up to the counter where there's a person ahead of them
After the person leaves the cashier looks at them
"Can I help you two?" she asked
"Yeah can I have..." Gemma looks up at the menu "A banana split"
"Okay" the girl puts the item into the register
"Baby, what do you want?" she asked, looking at him, smiling
Nero looks up at the menu "A hot fudge sundae"
"Okay is that all?" she asked, putting the sundae into the register
"Yeah" Gemma spoke up
"Is that for here or to go?" the girl asked
"Here" they answered in unison
"Okay then, we'll have your order ready in a few minutes" she smiles at them walking away to the back
Gemma and Nero move out of the way of the register waiting together on their orders patiently
Moments later the girl comes out with their order "Here you go, guys" she smiles setting everything down into the table Gemma and Nero move back over to the cash register
"Thanks" She says
Gemma starts getting out her wallet when Nero stops her
"I got this, Mama, my treat" he smiled, grabbing his wallet from out of his pocket
"How much?" he asked the girl
She rings everything up "Um 2.45 please"
Nero nodded opening his wallet taking out his money handing her 3.00 dollars
"Thank you" the girl said taking the money from him putting it into the register
"Here's your change, sir" she handed him the change "Thanks" he smiled at her putting the change into his pocket taking the ice cream over to a table far away from the few other people in the shop handing Gemma hers
"Thanks, baby" she smiles taking the banana split sitting down in the chair
Nero sets down into the chair
"We forgot spoons and napkins" he announced
She start getting up "I'll get them, Mama"
She smiles as he gets up going over to the counter
"Can I help you, sir?" the girl asked
"Yeah we need spoons and some napkins please" he said
"Of course, two right?" she asked
"Yeah" he replied
The girl walks back retrieving two plastic spoons and a few napkins "Here you go" he takes the spoons and napkins from her "Thanks"
"No problem" she smiles at him
He walks back to their table handing Gemma a spoon and a few napkins sitting down
They begin eating their ice cream while glancing flirtatiously at each other
"Mm, this is so good" Gemma announced
"Let me have some" he said
She scoops up some of the split onto her spoon bringing it over to his mouth
"Open up" she instructed, he does
She puts the spoon into his mouth feeding him the ice cream "Mm, that is good" he smiles
"Do you want some of mine?" he asked, smiling
"Yeah" she whispered
He scoops up a bit of his desert onto his spoon it over to her mouth
"Open" he says, she does, he places the spoon inside feeding her

"This time was long overdue, baby" she says
