Freya was going over everything she knew about the Gemini coven. Over the centuries, when she met another witch, she wrote down everything she knew about them. This was especially true about witches she classified as dangerous. She wanted to be prepared in case she encountered them again. Freya didn't know much about the Gemini coven, but she did know that they were very powerful and very dangerous. However, Freya was powerful too. If there was a way to undo what they did, she would find it.
Just then, Freya heard the front door open and close. She looked up seconds later to see Klaus enter the living room. He was holding a large cooler. "I trust you have what I asked for?"
"Copious amounts of blood, and hospital supplies, yes. I'm not sure why you need it, especially the blood, since the refrigerator is half full with it," Klaus said.
"It's for contingency plan I'm considering," Freya said. She'd spent half the morning trying to come up with tentative solutions to help Elena.
"I thought you needed to see Elena Gilbert and the Bennett Witch before you could come up with solutions," Klaus said, before putting the cooler down by the coffee table.
"I do. I need to examine the magic before anything can be decided. I need to know exactly what the Gemini witch did before I can attempt to undo it. However, I can consider tentative plans in the meantime," she said.
"And what's the plan for the massive amount of blood?" Klaus wondered.
"it's not important right now. I'm hoping it won't even be necessary. It's a last resort type of thing and I'm not even sure it can be done yet. I just wanted the blood readily available, just in case," she told him.
"Where's Elijah?" Klaus asked.
"I asked him to go pick up some standard herbs," Freya said. No matter what she ended up doing, she knew she would need herbs. Plus, she wanted to get Elijah out of the house for a while. She could see that the waiting was making him agitated.
"Freya, you need to help Elena," Klaus said seriously.
Freya glared at her brother. "You getting a hold of this girl's blood is not on my list of priorities."
"That's not what I meant. Sure, I'd love the opportunity to use a line's blood to make more hybrids, but I was speaking of Elijah. If anything happens to Elena, I worry that something in our brother will die too," Klaus said.
Freya frowned a little in confusion. She knew Elijah cared for this girl, but Klaus seemed to be under the impression that it went further than that. "You seem to be implying that our brother has deep feelings for this girl. I thought he was in love with Hayley,"
Klaus laughed. "Hayley is merely an infatuation compared to Elena. Elijah has always had a soft spot for Petrova women, but none of them compared to Elena." Elijah had never told him any of that, of course, but Klaus knew his brother. He knew Elijah better than anyone in the entire world. He knew what it looked like when Elijah was taken with someone.
"Great. That certainly lessens the pressure," Freya said sarcastically. This made the position she was in even worse. If she failed to save Elena, she was breaking her brother's heart. It also made her more determined, though. If Elena mattered to Elijah that much, she would do whatever was necessary to save her life and to wake her from her coma.
"You should also know not to trust any of the people that come here today. They have a history of doing incredibly stupid things," Klaus said.
Elijah walked into the room seconds later. "Yes, Niklaus and I are in agreement for once. These people need to be watched carefully, especially the Salvatore's. I have your herbs, sister."
Freya took the paper bag that Elijah held out in front of her. "Thank you, brother."
"No, sister, it is I who owe you for this. I cannot thank you enough for agreeing to help Elena," Elijah said before his eyes met the cooler by the coffee table. He could smell the blood from a mile away. "What do you need a cooler of blood for?"
"I don't know that I will. I just wanted it available in case we do need it," Freya said.
Elijah nodded. "Is there anything else you need, sister?"
"No. I've been trying to come up with possible solutions, but there's really nothing we can do until I see Elena and see what kind of magic has been used," Freya told him.
"Do you believe you can find a solution?" Elijah asked.
"I can't be sure, but there are very few spells with no loopholes," Freya answered.
"Freya, I want you to wake Elena up, but I don't want you to risk her life in the process," Elijah told her. Right now, Elena was safe. Her situation was not ideal, but she would survive. He wanted her to wake up, but he was willing to let the spell play out if necessary."
"I don't intend to take any unnecessary risks, brother," Freya assured him.
Elijah nodded and left the room.

It wasn't until later that night that everyone arrived from Mystic Falls. There was a knock on the door around eight and Elijah went to answer it. Damon was the first one he saw, and he had Elena in his arms. Elijah couldn't help but look at her for a minute. She looked peaceful, like she was just in a regular sleep.
Elijah finally turned back to the others. "Welcome, Everyone. Please come in.
All of them walked inside, Damon glaring at Elijah.
Elijah showed them to the living room, where Freya and Klaus were waiting. "Everyone, this is my sister Freya. Freya, meet Damon and Stefan Salvatore, Bonnie Bennett and Caroline Forbes."
"It's wonderful to meet you all," Freya told them.
"Well, it's certainly wonderful to see the lovely Caroline," Klaus said with a flirtatious smile.
Caroline rolled her eyes, but smiled back.
"You're the witch that's gonna help us, right?" Bonnie asked Freya. Elijah told her that it was his sister that was going to help them.
"Wait, you didn't tell me it was one of them that was supposed to help," Damon said to Bonnie.
"That's because I didn't think you'd come if I did. I know how you feel about the originals, but we need their help. If anyone can help Elena, it's the daughter of the original witch," Bonnie told him.
"She's right. We can't be picky," Stefan said.
Freya was a little taken aback by their attitude. She knew there was bad blood between them and her brothers, but if she was the one asking for help, she'd be a little less rude about it. That being said, she wasn't doing this for gratitude. She was doing it in part to help this young woman and in part for Elijah.
"Fine," Damon said grudgingly. He didn't like it, but if they could help Elena, he'd deal with it.
"Let us show you upstairs. Then we can get started," Freya said kindly.
Elijah led the way upstairs and towards his bedroom. That's where they were going to place Elena for now. Once inside, he gestured for Damon to lay her down.
Reluctantly, Damon put Elena down on the bed. Then he glared at Freya. "Let's get something straight. You're not doing a thing until you can guarantee me it won't endanger Elena's life."
Before Freya could respond, Elijah stepped towards Damon. He smiled, but anyone who knew him knew it wasn't a kind smile. "There is something we should get straight, Damon. It is as follows. You will not be making demands here. Freya will do what she thinks is necessary to help Elena. She is doing this for me. I am doing this for Elena. No one other than Elena. Whatever happens, I will ensure that Elaine's well-being is met. You will not interfere. Do you understand?"
Damon glared at him for a moment before going to pick up Elena. "We're leaving. I knew this was a mistake."
Before Damon could touch Elena, Elijah had him by the throat and shoved him up against the wall. "I said you will not interfere. I am perfectly willing to be cordial with you, but I am also willing to break your neck and chain you up in the dungeon until we're done. And let me be clear on something. The only reason I would snap your neck instead of removing your heart is because, for some reason unfathomable to me, Elena cares about you. I ask again. Do you understand me?"
Stefan walked over and gently took Elijah by the arm. "He understands. He just wants to help Elena. He won't interfere." He didn't like the idea of the originals taking over, but there was nothing they could do about it now. Elijah was much more powerful than them. Besides, if nothing else, Stefan knew that Elijah was a man of his word. He said all he wanted was what was best for Elena. He meant that.
"I certainly hope so," Elijah said before releasing the volatile vampire.
Freya looked at Klaus. "I thought you were the loose cannon."
Klaus smirked. "Doesn't he make you appreciate me that much more, sister?"
Freya ignored him and turned to the others. "Look, I don't intend to take any unnecessary risks. All I want is to help your friend."
"Why? If you don't mind me asking," Caroline asked. She appreciated what Freya was doing, but she was a Mikaelson, and that made Caroline automatically look for an ulterior motive.
"In part because of Elijah, but also because I've been in a similar position. I've spent most of the last thousand years asleep. It's a long story, but suffice it to say it wasn't a time I enjoyed," Freya explained.
"Do you think you can help her?" Bonnie asked.
"I'm not sure. The first thing I need to do is familiarize myself with the magic that was involved. For that I need to examine both of you," Freya told Bonnie.
"I don't think anything was really done to me. Kai drained me of my blood, but that's all he really did to me. I don't think he performed any magic on me," Bonnie told her.
"I still have to be sure, and in any event, it'll help me determine how strong this spell is between the two of you," Freya said.
Bonnie nodded that she understood. It made sense. Even if Kai didn't use magic on her, he still used magic to link her to Elena. It would make sense that there was some residue on them both.
Freya held out her hand to Bonnie. "Come take my hand."
Bonnie immediately walked over and took her hand.
"Elijah, light the candles please," Freya asked her brother before using her free hand to take Elena's. There were candles around the room. She knew. She knew candles for anything she had to do.
Elijah nodded before doing as she asked and lighting all the candles.
Freya closed her eyes and began chanting. It took several minutes, but soon she was able to connect with the magic. And it was strong magic. This witch, Kai was a very powerful witch, which made sense given that he was the head of the Gemini Coven. It was very dark magic too. It was the kind of magic Freya's aunt would use.
Frank let go of Bonnie and Elena's hands after a moment. "There are two very powerful spells on her. The first is obviously the sleeping spell. The other is the spell to stop anyone from screwing with the sleeping spell."
"So, he wasn't lying about us both dying if someone tries to screw with the spell," Bonnie asked. She was really hoping that would end up being a lie. If it was a lie, they could try to break the spell easily. Well, at least easier than it was going to be now.
"Is there a way to get around it?" Caroline asked.
"We're not trying. We're done now," Damon said firmly.
"Damon," Stefan admonished slightly. The last thing they needed was for him to piss off Elijah again. Besides, they should at least wait to hear what Freya said.
"I don't know. This is something I'm going to have to think about. At the moment I'm not even sure I could break the sleeping spell. But I'm not giving up. I just need time to try to come up with a solution," Freya said. She wasn't being entirely truthful, though. She did have an idea of how she could help Elena. Her last resort idea. It was actually the only idea she had so far that she was certain wouldn't result in Elena's death if she tried it. But it was drastic and had potential for a lot of repercussions.
"How long?" Caroline asked.
"At least a day. I need to go over all the spells I know and try to figure out if there's a way I could use them to help Elena. Then I need to figure out how to do it without triggering the curse on her spell," Freya said.
Elijah frowned at his sister for a moment. He could tell that she was lying, or at least not being entirely truthful. There was something on her mind, something she was reluctant to say around the others. However, he was certainly not going to call her out on it in front of everyone. "Very well, sister. Take whatever time you need."
Freya nodded and headed for the door. She motioned with her eyes for Elijah to follow her.
