Elijah was sitting on the couch sucking on his fourth blood bag. Freya and Bonnie Bennett had yet to return from Elena's mind, but he needed to be prepared for when they did. Freya had told him to feed as much as possible.

Klaus soon walked into the room. He took the scene in. His brother was drinking from the blood that he'd retrieved from the hospital. "Given that you've dipped into the stash our sister instructed me to get, I assume we're going with her contingency plan."

Elijah said nothing as he continued to drink.

"Well? Planning to share the plan?" Klaus asked.

Elijah sighed after finishing his blood bag. He supposed he might as well tell his brother. He would find out soon enough, and Elijah might need him if there was trouble from the others. "Provided Elena agrees, Freya will shift the linking spell from Bonnie to myself. Since I'm technically dead, Elena should awaken. In order to ensure her survival, we will have to make her a vampire again first. You will not interfere, Niklaus."

"What makes you think I was planning to?" Klaus asked.

"You want her human," Elijah reminded him.

Klaus rolled his eyes. "I was trying to get under your skin when I brought that up, brother. Elena has the cure in her blood. She's useless to me as a human. How do you plan to turn her again? I thought that wasn't possible."

"Freya knows of a spell. She believes it will take a lot out of me, which is why I am trying to strengthen myself," Elijah said before reaching for another bag.

"If it's that taxing, I doubt any of that will help until after the fact, but I suppose it can't hurt. I can also guess that it has to be you because no normal vampire would survive," Klaus said.

Elijah nodded and continued to drink.

Just then, Freya and Bonnie entered the room.

"Well? Can we proceed?" Elijah asked.

"Yes. Elena has been told what we need to do and the risks that go with it. She's given me the go ahead," Freya said. There was some irritation in her voice though. She was not at all happy with the way she got Elena's permission.

Elijah frowned at his sister. He could tell she was not thrilled. Something had happened during her conversation with Elena that had her less than pleased. "Why do you seem hesitant, sister?"

"I'm not hesitant. I just don't like the way this went down. I'll explain later. Right now, we need to deal with the others. Damon Salvatore needs to be taken out of commission. Even Elena agrees that he will interfere if he's not dealt with.

"Very well. I shall handle the situation," Elijah said with ease.

"No, not you. I need you to not exert yourself. You need to be at your strongest for the spells," Freya told Elijah before turning to Klaus. "Can you deal with Damon, brother?"

Klaus slowly began to grin as though it were Christmas morning. "It would be my pleasure, sister!"

Freya narrowed her eyes. "No killing or torture. Just break his neck." She could do it herself with her magic, but Elijah wasn't the only one that had to keep his strength up. She needed every ounce of her power to help Elena.

Klaus sighed dramatically. "Well, that will be significantly less fun, but I will still take pleasure in it.

Just then, they heard the door open and close. The others came into the room moments later, with Damon in the front. "Alright, what the hell is going on? I know you people are up to something."

Freya nodded to Klaus to give him the go ahead. She didn't even want to give Damon a chance to react.

Klaus smirked. "You're right. We are. Fortunately, you won't be privy to it." Without another word, Klaus was in front of Damon and had snapped his neck in the blink of an eye.

"Hey!" Stefan yelled as he looked back and forth between Klaus and his brother.

"Klaus, what the hell?" Caroline asked in disbelief.

"Sorry, Love. I was following instructions," Klaus said, not sounding at all apologetic.

"Alright, listen. We have a plan. I can't break the spell, but I can shift it from Bonnie to someone else. Someone who is technically already dead," Freya said.

"A vampire?" Caroline guessed.

Freya nodded. "To ensure Elena survives Kai's curse on the spell, I have to turn her back into a vampire. Unfortunately, it can't be done the normal way because she has the cure inside her. I have to use magic."

"No. Elena didn't want to be a vampire," Stefan said.

"I've spoken to Elena. She's willing to accept vampirism if it gets around Kai's spell," Freya said.

"Wait, you said that the cure complicates things. What exactly will you have to do to make Elena a vampire?" Caroline asked.

"There's a spell I was taught, though I have to admit that it's never been performed. I will need to flood Elena's body with quite a bit of vampire blood," Freya explained.

"Exactly how much, sister?" Klaus asked.

"Maybe a little less than half of Elijah's blood volume. I'll need to use close to the rest of it to link him to Elena. He will probably desiccate until his blood replenishes and I can get enough human blood into him," Freya said before turning to Elijah. "I would've told you all of this earlier, but you said you weren't interested in the details."

"I'm still not. Do what you need to do," Elijah said. He certainly didn't like the idea of being that vulnerable, but it didn't change his decision. If this was what it took to help Elena, so be it.

Freya turned back to the others. "Before one of you asks, yes, it has to be Elijah. The massive blood loss combined with the spells themselves would likely kill a normal vampire. It was him or Klaus, and I eliminated the latter for obvious reasons."

"Well, now I know why you broke Damon's neck. He never would've let this happen," Stefan said.

"And what about you, Stefan?" Klaus asked before taking a step forward, prepared to repeat what he'd done to Damon if necessary.

"I don't like it, but it's Elena's choice. The question is, is your sister being truthful that she agreed?" Stefan asked. He didn't know Freya enough to believe her, and he didn't trust the other originals.

"She is. I was there. Elena agreed to do this," Bonnie assured him.

Freya narrowed her eyes at Bonnie. "If I'd known you'd pull what you did, you wouldn't have been there."

"I said what I had to to get her to agree," Bonnie said unapologetically.

"Wait, what are you talking about, Bonnie?" Caroline asked.

"Someone explain," Elijah ordered.

"Elena was completely on board until I told her that Bonnie might still die from Kai's curse. Once she knew that, she refused. That is until Bonnie suggested that she might kill herself to wake Elena if she didn't agree," Freya said.

"Bonnie!" Caroline admonished in disbelief.

"It was the only way," Bonnie said.

Elijah stood up and gave Bonnie a stoney glare. "You manipulated her. The deal is off. I will not do this with coerced consent."

"No! You can't do that," Bonnie argued.

"Elijah, Elena knew what Bonnie was doing. That is the only reason I am still willing to go through with it. She knew that Bonnie was most likely bluffing. She agreed anyway," Freya told him.

"Of course, she did, because she is used to her 'friends' making choices for her or forcing her hand. Fine. Do you need Bonnie Bennett here to do this spell?" Elijah asked.

"Yes. I will need a small amount of her blood when I shift the spell from her to you," Freya told him.

"Or we could make the entire situation much simpler. Kill the Bennett witch and Elena wakes up," Klaus suggested.

Both Stefan and Caroline stepped in front of Bonnie protectively.

"Do not think I am not tempted, brother. However, I will not do that to Elena. Miss Bennett, I would suggest you be gone before I return to full strength," Elijah warned Bonnie.

"Alright, we should get started. Klaus, secure Damon someplace in case he wakes up. The rest of us will head upstairs," Freya said before leading the way up the stairs to Elena.
