In today's episode, we find our heroes (sans Sarah and her entire family and the rest of their friends as they haven't joined up with them yet) in Honolulu where a large circus tent was put up. A Pokémon Circus had come to the Alola Region and upon hearing that it was going to be held in three days for three shows in Honolulu before moving on to the next city, everybody jumped at the opportunity, eager to see what a Pokémon Circus is like compared to all other circuses including the Greatest Show on Earth: the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
"Wow!" Ash and the Pokémon School Gang gasped in awe and wonder, seeing the tent that was set up.
"That tent is where they're holding the Pokémon Circus Jane mentioned, Professor?" Mallow asked Professor Kukui, awestruck.
"That's it, this is where they're going to be performing for the next three shows here in Honolulu and it's thanks to her that we're right on time to check out the rehearsals before the first show this Saturday," Kukui smiled proudly.
"Yeah, the first show won't be until tomorrow afternoon and this is the last day for rehearsals until then," Kiawe grinned, checking out the schedule of the circus team in a program book Jane had given to the group.
"Hey, has anybody seen Sarah and the others?" Lana quizzed before the princess and her family finally joined them along with the Mane 5, Discord, the Mane 6, Celestia, Luna, Cadence, the Eight Queens, Marena, the Vikings and their dragons, Qibli, Smolder, Cyrus, and Blaze.
"Hey, guys, sorry we're late," Sarah called.
"What kept you guys?" Sophocles asked.
"Oh, Mom and Dad wanted me to look my best for the upcoming show tomorrow which is why they had to pamper me back at the hotel before we finally left to join you for the last rehearsals," Asha replied.
"Great! Now that we're all here, this is going to be so much fun!" Lillie smiled brightly, eager to see what the Pokémon Circus before them is all about.
"Princess, Professor, is this what you youngsters call a Pokémon Circus? This giant tent put up in the main square of Honolulu?" Tsukumaro puzzled, eying the tent as he took in the sight of it.
"That's it," Sarah confirmed to her godfather.
"Yep, amongst many other things Jane informed us about yesterday. And, that's on top of the Hisui Festival being held at Canalize City in the Sinnoh Region she got us hooked about," Kukui smirked knowingly, recalling Jane approaching the group and setting up the trip she had planned for them involving the Pokémon Circus and the Hisui Festival.
[Flashback]
"Morning, Kukui, Burnet! Hope you and your students are ready 'cause I got a surprise for you!" Jane called as she approached the group while they were having breakfast, beaming from ear to ear as she had something special planned for all of them.
"Alola, Jane. You're looking cheerful today."
"What's gotten you feeling perky all of a sudden?" the professors in question inquired curiously.
"I've just came across something that'll provide your students with a once-in-a-lifetime fun and educational experience while I was going through the mail and program pamphlets as well as the internet, check it out!" Jane replied, handing Kukui a poster paper that she found on the internet and printed for him to see.
Kukui took the poster and read what it said as the others gathered around and listened in, "Hisui Festival in Canalize City, featuring Hisui Region historical culture and exhibit! Come and learn about the ancient past of Sinnoh and the Pokémon believed to be have resided at this mythical time."
"Hisui Festival?" his students echoed.
"A Pokémon cultural festival and exhibit inspired by Sinnoh's ancient past held in Canalize City?" Burnet added in surprise.
But, the ones most surprised to hear of the festival and what it represented are Sho and Arrietty as the former breathed in shock, "...O-O-O-Our, our old h-home...?"
"Are you serious?" Arrietty begged.
"It says so on the poster," Kukui confirmed.
"Awesome, the Sinnoh Region in the past, it's gotta be full of Pokemon we've never seen before!" Ash cheered excitedly.
"Let me see!" Arrietty demanded, allowing Kukui to hand her the poster and have her take a look at it before she gasped and saw her old homeland as shown on the paper, causing her to eventually sniff.
"...Mom?" Sho asked before he gasped, seeing tears welling up in her eyes before she slowly smiled and turned away to hide her face.
"...So, i-it, it's true. T-T-T-They, they haven't f-f-forgotten..." she wept with joy.
"YAAAAAAAY! Told ya so, Ms. Arrietty! I keep telling you when I first started hearing about this Hisui party thing happening people today haven't forgotten! Ya see, ya see? You and Big Brother Sho should listen to me more often!" Mai cheered, feeling happy for the Hisuian Zoroark and Zorua.
Kukui had to smile, knowing how sentimental Arrietty and her son are about their former fatherland years ago despite the shady reputation their species had, "I suppose we have another reason to go to Canalize City for the festival, then. Any objections after hearing that?"
"I won't mind, it does sound like a valuable learning curve of history," Marena replied.
"I've never heard about Sinnoh's ancient past before in any books so I'm most curious to see what this Hisui Festival is about," Lillie put in eagerly.
"I want in on it!"
"Me, too!"
"Count me in."
"Yeah, I can't wait!"
"Awesome, Sinnoh is such a great region and it'll be cool to see what it was like back then through that festival!" Mallow, Lana, Kiawe, Sophocles, and Ash cried ecstatically.
"Imagine all of the stuff I can learn about the Pokemon living in the Hisui Region! There must be a ton of Pokemon living there at the time that I knew nothing about, maybe some with stuff I've never seen before! When does the festival start?" Rotom-Dex buzzed enthusiastically.
"This upcoming Monday, I figured your school would touch upon the subject of Sinnoh someday so I thought you would go there for a special educational field trip. All expenses paid by me and the others, free of charge," answered Jane.
"Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Jane, you've done it again, the Hisui Festival should be a Whirlpool of a blast for us to enjoy!" laughed Kukui wholeheartedly.
"Always glad to help and give you something for school, Kukui," Jane chuckled.
"I guess we're going to have another activity for school on this staycation but thankfully, you won't have to worry about writing a report right now. Anybody up for a trip to Sinnoh and the remnants of its ancient past?" Burnet smiled.
"Awesome!"
"I'm in!"
"Yeah!"
"Let's do it!"
"Sweet!"
"Oh, I can't wait to go to Sinnoh!" Ash and the others cheered excitedly.
"If it's alright with Sho and Arrietty and it gives them comfort after feeling homesick for so long, I'm game," Sarah finished, eager to go to Sinnoh as well.
"Wicked! We knew Rakfon had an ancient history but we've never known any ancient history from this planet let alone this Sinnoh region! What do you say, Zayto, should we do it?" Aiyon asked his best friend, the most eager out of the equally-excited Dino Fury Rangers with Willow giving Zayto the puppy-dog eyes as she gave a cute pout with Flint trying to do the same with a curious blink despite being blind.
"Aww, how can you say 'no' to those faces?"
"They're really taking the cutness factor a little too personal for my liking."
"Come on, Zayto, what do you say?"
"Yeah, it'll be great!" Izzy (holding and showing Zayto Willow's puppy dog face), Ollie, Amelia, and Javi remarked.
"Oh, go on, Zayto. Why, I'm more or less curious to know what Sinnoh was like when it was first called Hisui and what the Pokemon we'll be learning about from that time are," agreed Solon, feeling just as eager.
Zayto had to smile as he shared everyone's sentiments, "...Alright, we'll go to Sinnoh this Monday."
"Yeah, I'm going, too! No way am I gonna miss out on this!" Qibli added, just as eager.
"Me, too!" Smolder concurred.
"Wherever the princess goes, we're going as well," Cyrus nodded, Blaze giving a knowing nod as Ash and the Pokemon School Gang along with their Pokemon cheered.
"And, that's just the start of it, there's another surprise I want to tip you guys on about," Jane added, handing Kukui another poster she had printed out from the internet that showed two acrobats with a Flareon and Jolteon in circus attire, coated in fire and electricity respectfully. "There's a Pokemon Circus being held in Honolulu tomorrow so you can think of this as a precursor to the Hisui Festival on Monday."
"A Pokemon Circus!"
"That sounds like fun!"
"Yeah, it'll be just like the Pokemon Music & Dance Festival held last year in Hau'Oli City!" Mallow, Lillie, and Ash gasped excitedly.
Asha blinked in surprise before she admitted, "I've never heard of that before."
"You've never been to a circus before?" Sarah asked her big sister-in-law in surprise.
"No. I've been living with Rajhu at Dragonstone for seventeen years after he brought me back and never returned until now. Besides, before now, we've never went to one before," Asha replied, shaking her head.
"A human circus, with Pokemon as an added bonus? Sweet! That's gotta be a blast, right, Zayto?" Aiyon smiled brightly, nudging his best friend.
"Javi did mention something about the circus one time with all the animals, the acrobats, the stuntpeople... I'm really curious to see what it's like," Zayto nodded, smiling as well.
"Oh, you boys will love the circus. We've had a circus before in our time but instead of humans and Pokemon nowadays, there were only mythical creatures. It should be interesting to see one with only Pokemon in this age," Delilah said.
"It would do us good to learn more about another part of today's modern human culture, especially with our baby performing," Doug smiled, ruffling Sarah's hair.
"She's a natural performer and you two will love to see her when she's in the rings," Ash stated with an eager smile.
"Thanks a lot, Ash," muttered Sarah, blushing as she started to feel a little pressured over her parents watching her perform again.
"A Pokemon Circus? Oh, I'd love to see all those performers and their Pokemon performing all sorts of stunts and tricks that made it such a fabulous place, especially with all the clowns and that kind of stuff!" Solon finished, now enticed into wanting to go to the circus as well.
"Right, okay, everybody! Tomorrow, we'll make like a Boltund and Volt Tackle our way to the Greatest Show in Alola 'cause it's time for a Pokemon Circus!" Kukui decided with everyone cheering in agreement.

Trials of Sarah VOL 3 - Warrior Princess
(End Theme Song)
As our heroes finished observing the circus from the surface, they entered the tent to see the preparations being made for the first show which is the debut show for its stay in Honolulu. They had been recommended by Jane and her fellow Cast Members to the ringmaster and his entire circus troupe to be guest performers for the crowd in the city for the show and they're ecstatic.
A Pokemon Circus has come to town and our heroes are stopping by before attending the Hisui Festival in Sinnoh. At this circus, Pokemon and their partners give dynamic, crowd-pleasing performances based on their skills. As a treat to them, courtesy of Jane and her fellow Cast Members, Sarah, her family, and all their friends are invited as guest performers for the first show.
"Wow/Whoa/Cool!" cried a majority of the Pokemon and dragons as they entered and saw the interior of the Big Top, taking note of the performers and their Pokemon working out their routines and figuring out what should be kept, completely changed, or tweaked for the performance as they carried out their rehearsals for their Honolulu shows.
"Neat!"
"Look at all this stuff!"
"Check out all the performers and their Pokemon!"
"Look over there!"
"There's a Gardevoir and a Gallade!"
"There's a trapeze, too!"
"Those humans and their Pokemon are amazing!" Feathers, Mai, Tou-Tou, Pikachu, Primarina, Blitz, and Turtonator remarked as they looked around and saw everything that's been set up and the performers and their Pokemon continuing their rehearsals.
"He-he-he-he, hey, look!" laughed Appletun as he pointed at a Dewott, a Pignite, and a Servine rehearsing an act where they are clowns and perform some slapstick in a comedy skit.
"Oh, my Arceus! Daddy, over there, there's a Quaquavel!"
"A Skeledirge!"
"And, a Meowscarada!"
"So cool!" Helioseon, Thundereon, Feezeon, and Seleneon cooed, watching the fully-evolved forms of Sprigatito, Quaxly, and Fuecoco rehearsing a magical dance number for their own circus act while performing acrobatic stunts and Spanish-inspired dances to the beat of the music they're performing to.
"So, this is what the humans call a 'circus'," Suicune muttered in surprised awe.
"And, they said this is the place where you get to see daredevil stunts and comedy acts with those things they call 'clowns'," Raikou mused with intrigue.
"There's gotta be over fifty Pokemon in here!"
"Heavens, no, darling! I'm betting over a hundred with those talented humans putting on a show like this!" Mallow's Shaymin and Tsareena said, feeling as ecstatic as everyone else while looking at the Pokemon rehearsing with their human partners.
Then, the group took notice of a trio of motorcycle-inspired reptilian Pokemon called Cyclizar laughing and having fun with their human partners as they rehearsed a daredevil act that included riding inside a giant grated ball with the addition and help of a female Hatterene to which Delosky cried in awestruck excitement as she asked Sarah, "WHOA! What is that thing?"
"Uh, you mean that ball those performers and their Partner Pokemon are using for a motorcycle stunt act?" Sarah replied, having no idea what to call the circus act that Delosky saw.
"We don't have anything like that back in our old world before we ended up fighting Guzzlord let alone an actual circus," admitted Entei.
"This looks kinda cool."
"Those humans and their Pokemon really look like they're having fun."
"Oh, yes. But, they also look like they're working really hard on their routines for the show tonight," Magearna put in along with Kion and Kiara.
"Normally, I'm not one for pulling off crazy tricks such as those but I gotta hand it to the Pokemon here and their humans, they really know how to entertain a crowd if they've been doing this stuff for years when it hit the ground running," Terrakion remarked, giving an impressed whistle.
"Mama, Daddy, look! There's a pride of Pyroar like Uncle Kion and Auntie Kiara!" Olee cried excitedly, seeing a pair of Pyroar (male and female, respectively) and their trainers working out a circus animal routine involving lions.
"Good eye there, hun," smiled Kamikaze as she nuzzled her cub while Umbra chuckled.
"Cool...! So, this is one of these circuses you humans are prattling on about, I like the colors and the music," Reader quipped.
An awestruck Swirls cooed as she looked around and saw all the lights and sounds the circus had to offer, getting chuckles and smiles out of her parents as Ivory warned his daughter, "Stay close to us, Swirl. And, mind your back as you go along!"
"Wow, this place is amazing!" Fishlegs remarked in excitement.
"Meow-Wow! This circus is even bigger than the one Ryder and the PAW Patrol took part in!"
"I can't believe we're going to perform in a circus again!"
"But, this time, we're gonna fly alongside some Pokemon for this one!" Wild, Chase, and Skye added, feeling very giddy.
"Do you think all of Honolulu would be coming here?"
"I'd say all of Alola given what we're going to be helping with," Hiccup and Astrid bantered, both of them and their fellow Vikings and their dragons amazed over what they were all seeing before their eyes.
"Hey, guys, look at that!" Tuffnut gasped in surprise, pointing everybody towards a trapeze act where they saw a female acrobat and her normal-colored female Eevee (denoted by a flower worn from her left ear) rehearsing for the first show.
"Whoa!" blinked an equally-surprised Ruffnut.
"Hey! Look, Eevee! There's an Eevee similar to you up there!" Sarah called to her Evolution Pokemon.
"Another me?! Where, where, where?!" Sarah's Shiny Eevee chirped as she quickly jumped onto her owner's head and saw her normal-colored counterpart.
"Awesome!"
"Wicked!"
"Would you look at that," Ash, Pikachu, and Kiawe commented as they saw the female acrobat begin the rehearsal as she swung from her position while upside down with her arms open (hanging from her legs) and called, "Start, now!"
The normal-colored Eevee chirped in reply as she jumped onto the trapeze swing on her end, swung over to her partner, and jumped before the acrobat managed to grab her paws as they swung over to her side.
"Wowie-zowie!"
"Oh, I can't look!" Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy squeaked, the former excited and the latter terrified as she covered her eyes.
But, Fluttershy had no cause to worry as the acrobat and her Eevee, safely in her hands, jumped back onto her platform and smiled brightly, "Excellent jump! Thanks, Bernice!"
"Yeah!" Bernice chirped gleefully, feeling happy with the success of their jumps.
"Whoa! Did you see that, guys? What a jump, should we try that out for ourselves?" cried Steel in awe and fascination as everyone else gasped in wonder and shock.
"Uh, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Maybe someday when you're finally human," Ravi warned, chuckling warily while trying to contain his own excitement.
"Phenomenal! That Eevee and her partner made a perfect trapeze jump!" Nate beamed in amazement.
"I can't do that even with my Jackrabbit DNA!" remarked an awestruck Zoey (Yellow Ranger).
"Those two got some moves. And, check out those two going up next," Devon added, impressed as he then pointed towards a man on the trapeze with a male Eevee (who was wearing a small top hat instead of a flower from his right ear) from a level above Bernice and her partner.
"Here I come!" the male acrobat called, holding onto the trapeze with his left hand as he jumped and swung towards his Eevee as he jumped onto another trapeze from his side while the male normal-colored Evolution Pokemon signaled, "Ready!"
"Let's go!" the male acrobat called, allowing his partner to jump towards him as he grabbed him by his left paw, maintaining balance as they swung back and forth before they landed on the male acrobat's platform.
"My goodness!"
"It's remarkable!" Donna (former queen) and David gasped in awestruck wonder.
"Indeed, they're incredible," Queen Sequoia added, impressed.
"What a phenomenal pair of acrobats and Eevees," Queen Jewel praised.
"They're fantastic! Those two and their Eevees are the perfect definition of what the humans of this world call in a circus, the 'Men and Women of the Flying Trapeze'! The majesty, the style, the power, the grace!" Sol commented, fascinated by what he just saw.
"NO WAY!"
"What an act!"
"Those two and their humans got it!"
"I can't believe it!"
"Did you guys see those guys flying through the air like that?! Awesome!" Pikachu, Tsareena, Turtonator, Snowy, and Togedemaru screamed in shock and amazement at the Eevees and their humans' act.
"Aren't those two and their human partners wonderful, Sandy?" Primarina shrieked in excitement to her younger Normal Type brother.
"GROOVY COOL, SIS! I wanna play, I wanna play!" Sandy gushed, unable to control himself as his excitement grew from watching his fellow Eevee rehearse while Sarah's Shiny Eevee looked jaw-dropped as she stared in awe at her counterparts with widened eyes that had a twinkle in them.
Then, the entire group heard a drumroll before the showman/ringmaster appeared and declared, "The circus means...Adventure! Welcome to a world of dreams and adventure! I assume you are Princess Sarah and everyone else here are the Alolan Royal Family of Alola and your friends."
"That's us. At your service, Mister," Sarah nodded, shaking the ringmaster's hand.
"A pleasure it is to meet you at last, Your Highness. I happen to run the circus here, just call me 'The Showman'!" the Showman smiled. "Our rehearsal, your thoughts?"
"I thought it was awesome!"
"It was so cool!"
"Simply gorgeous!"
"I can't get enough of it when we saw all those acts!"
"You and all your performers and Pokemon are simply wonderful!" Ash, Mallow, Lana, Sophocles, and Lillie replied, still feeling as excited as ever.
"My heart was racing, like it's in full turbo under the full power and might of a never-ending Inferno Overdrive!" Kiawe declared passionately, getting a knowing nod and smirk from The Showman.
"Mm-hmm, a circus that can cause the heart to race, that's called: 'Adventure'!"
"Mr. Showman, we saw from the poster we were given before coming here that you'll be having a Flareon and Jolteon performing for your circus. Is that true?" Asha inquired.
The Showman laughed heartily at Asha's question as he confirmed while watching the two acrobats from before and their Eevee regroup following their earlier rehearsal, "Perfect timing, young lady. The truth is those Eevee that you just saw for the trapeze act are going to evolve soon."
"Really?!" Ash cried as the kids gasped in awe and excitement.
"Well, now, a double circus Eevee evolution," Race commented, impressed as he crossed his arms and gave a smile and a nod. "That'll be something to see later on."
"A Double Evolution and at a circus of all places, no less! If that's gonna happen soon, I've gotta record this! This could be a real first in the history of circuses since the days of the Ringling Bros & Barnum and Bailey Circus!" Rotom-Dex buzzed with joy as he took pictures of the entire circus along with the acrobats and their Eevees just as the Pokemon and performers in question came over to meet their circus' guest performers.
"Allow me to introduce to you all two of our star human performers: Harmony and Billy. They and their Eevees, Bernice and Toril, are scheduled to perform for the finale of our opening show this Saturday on the Flying Trapeze," the Showman introduced.
"Nice to meet you all, I'm Harmony, and I simply adore Fire Types! And, this here is my dear partner and Eevee, Bernice," the female acrobat, Harmony, smiled in greeting.
"Hi there!" Bernice greeted warmly.
"And, I'm Billy, I love Electric Types above all else. And, this right here is my partner, Toril," Billy, the male acrobat, greeted the heroes with a bow.
"Hello there," Toril called with a cool smile as he turned to the heroes while facing his human partner.
"Performing with Fire Types sets my heart ablaze, we're talking hot!"
"Ha! Fire Types are so yesterday, Electric Types will continue to shock the world!" the acrobats bantered before they growled and glared at each other, a comedic lightning bolt brewing between them hinting at a rivalry between Billy and Harmony.
Toril and Bernice sweatdropped with worry as they watched their partners' rivalry spark like wild, both of them not knowing what to do to get Harmony and Billy to stop competing as the Showman assured the heroes, "Mark my words, they're both vying to be a star. We'll see who comes out ahead when the finale takes shape."
This got Casey, Theo, and Lily worried as they commented, "Does that mean the two of them are rivals?"
"Yeah, but not in a good way by the looks of it. They're even worse than we are when it comes to Jarrod when Dai Shi still had control over him."
"Circuses have a lot of drama behind the curtain. Those two must really be at it, that's why it's gotten so tense around here."
"More like shallow with how much they're at each other's throats over which Pokemon Type they prefer is the best between them," frowned Applejack, seeing how competitive Harmony and Billy are as she recalled bad memories over how competitive she and Rainbow Dash once were and saw poor Bernice and Toril stuck in the middle as they don't know how to react.
The Showman then turned to Billy and Harmony as he addressed them, "You two, will you both allow our guest to witness the evolution of your Eevee, please?"
"Of course, no problem at all. That's the reason why I even got an Evolution Stone such as this Thunder Stone in the first place," Billy nodded, taking out his Thunder Stone for Toril. "I'm going to use it to evolve Toril into a Jolteon and create a crackling good performance!"
"And, I just happened to receive this Fire Stone as a gift from a friend of mine when she heard that Bernice and I are going to be performing as a Fire Type for our circus! I'll use the Fire Stone and once Bernice becomes a Flareon, we'll ignite a fiery hot performance for the crowd!" Harmony added, showing the heroes her Fire Stone.
But, it wasn't long before Harmony and Billy's rivalry sparked again as they began to banter angrily once more, "Hold on! I'm up first so don't you even dare try cutting in line!"
"You better stay out of my way, Harmony, because I'm up first to show Toril's evolution!"
"No, I'm first!"
"No, I am!"
"What's your problem?!"
"What's yours?!"
All the while, the heroes and the Showman could only watch while Harmony and Billy continue to bicker over who was going to show either Bernice or Toril's evolution first between them, the heroes watching with deadpanned and awkward looks on their faces. Umbreon, Guardeon, and the rest of the Eeveelutions in Sarah's family frowned at the pair while Sarah's Shiny Eevee could only watch with great concern for Toril and Bernice, the two Eevees still deeply worried for their partners as they continued to be stuck in the middle of their rivalry until Harmony and Billy turned to their partners with their respective stones at hand.
"Bernice, come here."
"Let's do this, Toril."
Then, there was trouble; before they can commence Toril and Bernice's evolutions, Harmony and Billy accidentally dropped their Evolutions Stones as they slipped out of their hands while they prepared to butt heads over who gets to go first again. This slip-up of theirs caused the Fire and Thunder Stones to fly onto Bernice and Toril's heads and hit them but the Fire Stone ended up going to Toril while the Thunder Stone went to Bernice. The heroes and Harmony and Billy watched in total shock and bewilderment as both normal-colored Eevees soon evolved into the exact opposite Pokemon that the rival acrobats were hoping for.
Needless to say, even Toril and Bernice were surprised by the accidental yet unexpected turn of events but they retained their old personalities as Bernice nuzzled her human partner happily in remembrance while Toril eyed his partner in confusion over everything that happened while Rotom-Dex scanned the pair to sort out his own confusion.
"Hmm, let's see, I hope I still have the files... Boy, are we in for a conundrum... Ah, here we go, first up: Jolteon, the Lightning Pokemon. An Electric Type, Jolteon puts out an electric charge equivalent to 10,000 volts. Quite high-strung, it's not an easy Pokemon to befriend," he began, first looking at Bernice's new evolution before turning his attention to Toril's. "Next: Flareon, the Flame Pokemon. A Fire Type, Flareon stores some of the air it breathes in an internal flame pouch where it heats the air to 3,000 degrees."
"Holy Mew-cakes!" gasped Sarah's Flareon in shocked surprise, seeing Toril as her species now with a blush.
"This is not happening...!" groaned Sarah's Jolteon as she turned away and covered her eyes in embarrassment after seeing Bernice now as her species before she blinked and then snarled at Rotom-Dex, feeling insulted as she garnered a tick mark on her face, "Wait... I'm not high-strung, you robotic muppet!"
"B-B-Bernice... Y-You evolved into a J-Jolteon, an Electric Type? I can't believe it!"
"Toril, no way...! Y-You, you're now a...a-a-a, a Flareon, a Fire Type!" Harmony and Billy gawked at their partners, Toril still looking confused at his partner while Bernice continued to happily nuzzle her human partner's leg.
None of the heroes and the Showman knew what to say next as panic soon settled into the two acrobats, making them scream and go back to bickering as their rivalry resumed, "It can't be/How am I going to deal with this?!"
"This is all your fault, Billy! If you haven't gotten in the way, we wouldn't be in this mess we're in!"
"You're responsible for this! Don't try and blame me for how Toril and Bernice ended up, Harmony!"
"Okay, do-over, I'm glad I brought one more for this."
"Yeah, do-over, Just one more time, I think I got it!"
"...Um, are they serious...?"
"Mother, should we stop this?" Ziracon and Proud asked Asha awkwardly as they watched the two acrobats fight.
"Forget it, you two. Once people and Pokemon like them start, they can go on for hours," Asha replied, not wanting to butt in and get dragged into Harmony and Billy's rivalry as they tried and failed to commence Toril and Bernice's evolutions (both of them not realizing until too late that their partners' accidental evolutions are permanent).
"You think they know by now that Pokemon evolutions, when they happen, are permanent as we were told?"
"I think they're brain-dead since they didn't know anything about that for Toril and Bernice."
"Maybe they need a redo of a school class on the basics of Pokemon Evolutions including Eevee Evolutions," Andres, Whisker, and Glaciel remarked awkwardly with a sweatdrop as they continued to watch Harmony and Billy ramble about, trying to undo Toril and Bernice's evolutions.
"Wait a minute/Okay, STOP!" Sarah's Flareon and Jolteon barked, finally having enough as they got between Harmony and Billy and their evolved partners to stop their flailing about.
"Huh?!" the rival acrobats blinked in bewilderment while Toril and Bernice blinked in surprise at their fellow Eeveelutions.
"I guess you must've forgotten; I hate to break it to you two but whenever an Eevee like Toril and Bernice evolves into one of the eight known Eeveelutions or any other form like the ones you see with me, that change is permanent," Sarah informed as she stepped forward and frowned at Harmony and Billy while crossing her arms.
"She's right, you know. So, whatever plans you two have with your Eevee prior, you can kiss them goodbye because they're not happening," confirmed Keldeo.
"Sorry, you two. Now, that Toril and Bernice are both a Flareon and a Jolteon respectively, you're stuck with them. That's it, game over, they're both like that for the rest of their days," Asha agreed, mirroring Sarah's posture.
This was not what Billy and Harmony wanted to hear and they panicked even harder before the Showman bellowed, "WILL YOU GET IT TOGETHER?!"
"But, how are we supposed to do a flaming trapeze performance with Bernice like this? Tell me!"
"And, I've put together an entirely electrical performance with Toril and he won't be able to do it as a Flareon! What should I do?!" they retorted to the flustered Showman.
The Showman knew that Billy and Harmony were right; they were both used to practicing their trapeze performances with their intended Pokemon Types in mind for Toril and Bernice and they both planned to do them with Bernice as a Flareon and Toril as a Jolteon as they hoped for. Now, because of their slip-up and with Bernice being a Jolteon and Toril being a Flareon, all of their plans for their intended trapeze performances for the finale of the circus' first show were thrown out the window and the rival acrobats are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Worse still, there wasn't much time for them and their partners to go through their routines and change them up to meet with this unexpected development which is a worst-case scenario for both of them so they need a solution for their little predicament and fast.
"Hmm... You're right; without both of your intended performances for the finale, this looks bad... Hey, I know! Since there's not much time left until the first show, why don't you both exchange Pokemon for the performance?" he suggested, leaving Billy to sigh and cross his arms doubtfully while Harmony gasped in shock as they and their evolved partners considered the idea and what it meant for them in the performance.
Even the heroes were baffled by the idea and weren't sure how Billy, Harmony, Toril, and Bernice would take it, "You mean switching partners between them even if it's just for this Saturday's show?" Kiawe quizzed doubtfully.
"It's not that simple!" noted Lana, greatly concerned.
"Think of the Pokemon, their feelings!" Ash added, causing Billy and Harmony to lower their heads in thought over what they were told until they eventually realized that they had no choice.
"Well, I guess I can accept it this one time. It's as they always say, 'The show must go on'. After all, that's what professionals do, right?" Harmony agreed, albeit reluctantly.
"Well, for the sake of the performance this Saturday and the shows that follow... I guess it won't hurt for us to give it a try," Billy relented.
This left Toril and Bernice to give a confused "What?" over the arrangements before they were switched over by their partners with Toril partnered with Harmony and Bernice being in Billy's hands for the performance. Both acrobats, while they were in agreement to do what they must to keep the circus going, were not happy as they walked away in a huff, not paying any mind to each other while everyone else was left to wonder and worry about what could happen or worse, what could go wrong.
"Man, that got ugly real quick..."
"Yeah..."
"I don't like this, you guys. There's too much riding on the hope that those two could work out what to do for the performance this Saturday at the rate they're going."
"What do you think is gonna happen to them should this little compromise go belly-up and if they can't learn to adapt to this mix-up?"
"My money's on them face-planting on the finale, they sure don't look too happy about all this following Toril and Bernice's unintended evolutions and I don't think that's gonna change unless we or they themselves do something about it."
"I have to agree; Toril and Bernice's Freaky Friday evolutions have already gotten Harmony and Billy waking up on the wrong side of the circus bed and at the worst possible time, too."
"Poor Toril and Bernice..."
"They couldn't help evolving as they did according to our species," Toothless, Zenna, Braviary, Falcon, Aurequine, Thunder, Stormfly, and Sarah's Eevee sighed.
"But, how are we gonna help those little rascals as long as they're stuck in the middle of their humans' stupid rivalry?" Tyson inquired with a raised eyebrow.
"I guess we'll have to wait and see. But, at the moment, I have a feeling this might not work out between them," Jarrod guessed, worried.
"Do you think they'll be okay?" Ash pondered, now feeling unsure as they watched Harmony and Billy leave with their temporary partners in tow.
"Maybe."
"Yeah..." Mallow and Kiawe sighed sadly, sharing Jarrod and Ash's worries for Billy, Harmony, Toril, and Bernice.
"Sorry about the preshow confusion, everybody. I'm sure things will all work out sooner or later for them, Toril, and Bernice. Now, why don't we all start rehearsing your parts for the show?" the Showman apologized as everybody else turned to him (many of them agreeing to start rehearsing for the show and deal with the matter involving Billy and Harmony before then in their own time) while Sarah looked on with great concern for the quartet that left, knowing what was wrong with Billy and Harmony but unsure of how to help them and their partners.
Evening came and soon, everyone was assigned a specific part of the show to go along with the main acts as they all practiced hard, knowing that tonight and the day after would be their last and only chance to go through the routines they were given before long.
For Ash and Pikachu, they were working with a Chinese yoyo called a diabolo which they would have to do a little juggling while adding an electrical charge to the axle that would allow them to give an electrifying performance of their own.
"Pikachu!" Ash called as he sprung the axle up and the Kanto Mouse Pokemon knocked it into the air with his tail for the next part of their act. "Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"
Everything seemed to be going well at first as the pair ran through their part with Pikachu charging the axle with his Thunderbolt attack but while Ash carefully watched it falling to him, it missed his sticks and it hit his face, causing him to be shocked and leaving Pikachu in stunned horror to see their intended plan for their part backfire on them.
Their failure garnered a lot of laughter at their expense from Snotlout and the twins along with Hookfang, Barf, and Belch as they pointed at them and rolled on their backs, chortling loudly.
As for the others, they were doing pretty well with themselves despite some hiccups they had to overcome: Kiawe and Pyroar decided to do a flaming hoop trick and carefully worked out how they were going to accomplish it, Lana, Mallow, and Lillie decided to do a dance routine with Sandy, Snowy, and the Grass Type student's Shaymin, and Sophocles and Togedemaru were planning to do a stick juggling routine.
On the Electric Type student's end, he was carefully preparing to juggle a long blue stick using two smaller yellow sticks while Togedemaru was on stand-by as she bounced happily, ready to do her part for their routine as her trainer launched the blue stick into the air.
"Togedemaru, use Zing Zap!" he called, allowing his Roly-Poly Pokemon to hit the stick and coated it with yellow energy.
They were going well with the routine, too well, as Sophocles eyed the stick and readied to juggle should he catch it but he ended up being slow on the draw as it slammed into his chin and knocked him over.
"Oh, my!"
"Oh, dear..."
"This circus thing is much harder than it looks," Henna, Donna (former queen), and Gobber admitted as the former two winced and the latter smiled sheepishly.
"Well, we gotta keep going before the show this Saturday for Toril, Bernice, Harmony, and Billy's sake, guys, Granny," Sarah replied sheepishly, rubbing the back of her head.
"It's easier if you got a ball," Rubble remarked as he rolled around while standing on a ball along with Zuma and Rocky while Skye danced with a ribbon on her, Marshall was on a board while trying to maintain his balance on a roller, and Chase was on a balancing beam for their routine.
"What about you, Sarah, what are you and your family going to do for your routine?" Lana asked Sarah as she and Sandy came up to the princess.
"Mind if I give you girls a hand with the music?" called a familiar voice, only to find a familiar gentleman and group of Unova Pokemon smiling at them while in circus clothing. "I think the arrangement I've come up with is a good one for you."
"Richard!"
"And, the Unova Movers!" the two girls cried in surprise as they joined their old friends, getting the attention of the others who knew and causing them to join the musical ensemble.
"Hi, Richard!"
"Hello!"
"Great to see you!"
"It's been a while!"
"It's wonderful to see you, what are you doing here?" Ash, Mallow, Sophocles, Kiawe, and Lillie smiled.
"Oh, my friends and I are regular guest performers for the Showman's Pokemon Circus whenever they would come to Alola. The Showman and I are also good friends so when he rang me up and told us about your little predicament involving Harmony, Billy, and their Eeveelution mix-ups and mentioned that you all are going to be performing for the first show, he asked if we can come and help. So we did," Richard smiled.
He then turned to Sarah as he playfully inquired, "I hope Snivy and her brothers haven't been giving you too much grief ever since I gave them to you, Princess."
"Not at all, Richard. They're still as peppy and happy as ever," Sarah replied, just as Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott came over and saw their old dance troupe and band and happily greeted their evolved forms and the Oricorio quartet before they began to catch up with each other on what's been going on between them.
"That's good, I have no reason to worry, then. So, I heard that you and your family will need a routine of your own for the opening night on Saturday, correct?"
"That's right, we're guest performers and we're all working on our own routines for the big night but not without a few hiccups as I'm sure you know," Sarah nodded just as the Power Rangers, the Beast Bots, and Solon came over to meet Richard and the Unova Movers, much to the surprise of Javi as he gasped and pointed at him.
"Hey, wait a minute! I remember you, you and your Pokemon are the Unova Movers, the very same band I was going to perform with this Saturday!" he cried in awestruck surprise.
"You're kidding!"
"Richard and the Unova Movers?! I've heard so much about them!"
"Wow! Are you really Richard, the leader of the Unova Movers?! I grew up listening to your songs and watching your videos but I never knew you'd be here in this circus and to perform with my bro!" Ollie, Amelia, and Izzy barked in amazement with widened eyes and bright smiles.
"That's us, at your service. It's good to know there are still some good people out there who have such wonderful taste in music," Richard chuckled, shaking Javi and Izzy's hands.
"So, this is the same Richard and Unova Movers you helped to save their dance studio, and who gave you all of the Unova Starters in return for your help, Sis?" inquired Asha to her younger sister.
"Yeah, entered a contest to earn some prize money for their dance studio two weeks ago when their old manager was putting them through the gutter two years ago. Won first prize for our musical number involving the Alolan Hula," Sarah replied with a nod before she turned to Richard. "How's everything in the Alola Entertainment Committee for you guys, Richard?"
"An absolute dream come true, indeed! I don't know what we would've done had you and your family not come along when you did that day. We've been keeping ourselves afloat thanks to the prize money we've won and many people from around the world and across Alola are packing it in for music and dance classes galore! Our new position the committee offered to us has done us wonders and speaking of the committee, they've arranged for us to perform with Javi here for the opening night of the Showman's circus. I wanted to phone you kids and ask if you'd like to come and watch us perform but I'm guessing somebody pulled a few strings for you already, I wasn't expecting you all to be performing this Saturday, as well."
"No, no! Once more, from the top!" shouted a familiar voice, the little princess and her Eeveelutions and Eevees all hearing Harmony as she and Toril worked on their trapeze act although he was looking rather down as he stared sadly at something to his right. "Now, you'll jump with a 3, 2, and 1!"
They quietly made their way to the pair as they watched anxiously, seeing how upset and glum the evolved Flareon is as if his mind was no longer on the show and the final rehearsals for tonight and the day after, his lack of attention starting to grate on the Fire Type acrobat as she demanded in annoyance, "Toril, are you even listening to me? Don't you want to put on the best performance yet for Saturday's show? I need you to concentrate!"
But, Toril still wasn't listening as he continued to look to his right, still feeling glum and miserable for some reason, something Sarah and her Eevee Crew could tell just by looking at how sad he was and the look of longing on his face.
"Poor Toril, he looks so sad in his current condition..."
"Yeah, his heart's not into performing as it used to. I think he's staring at something as if he wanted something bad to make him feel better."
"Like what?" Espeon, Vaporeon, and Sarah's shiny-colored Eevee said before they all followed his gaze and saw Bernice feeling the same way as she couldn't concentrate on rehearsing her part with Billy, much to the Electric Type acrobat's own annoyance.
"Bernice, how many times do I have to tell you? When I give the signal, that's when you put out the shock!" he ordered, only to see her continue to ignore him as he groaned, "Oh, dear. What a waste of time, she just doesn't listen..."
Sarah looked between Toril and Bernice as they eyed their original trainers and gasped before she gave a sad frown to the quartet and thought, 'This isn't working; Toril and Bernice couldn't put their hearts into rehearsing since the switch was made for our last rehearsals tonight and tomorrow. I know the Showman did what he thought was right for them but Toril and Bernice already knew this was going to fail even before they went through with it. They can't break away from their partners even for the last rehearsals, they love Harmony and Billy too much for them to be separated. But, even so, how will they be able to perform their act for the finale this Saturday and how would they be able to cope with the mix-up before them?'
"Penny for your thoughts?" Richard asked as he and the Unova Movers joined Sarah and her Eevees and Eeveelutions and saw Billy and Harmony struggling through their routines with the switch made while Toril and Bernice sadly looked at their respective trainers, longing to be back together with them again. "Ah, I see..."
"I thought they agreed that the switch would be necessary just for tonight and tomorrow but it's obvious they knew better given how miserable they are," Sarah sighed to Richard.
"It's the bonds between Billy and Harmony and Toril and Bernice; I should know, I saw them perform in the circus and did gigs with them prior to this little mix-up misadventure you're having. They're as tight as peas in a pod and they always work best whenever they're paired exactly as they were, it's clear Bernice and Toril can't handle being away from their original human partners even for one minute and the rivalry they had is really wearing them down."
"I see; even after evolving, they just didn't want to go through the switch the Showman suggested. They still want to perform with their true partners whether they like it or not," Guardeon deducted.
"That explains why they're a bunch of sad sacks now," Jolteon sighed sympathetically.
"Some things never change for those two as we can tell earlier. They loved Harmony and Billy too much to be apart from them, even for one show," Breezeon sighed sadly, seeing what his father and Richard are getting on.
"And, I should know; before I gave them to their new family, I raised Snivy, Oshawott, and Tepig along with their evolved forms for as long as I can remember, since the moment I was given their eggs," Richard put in.
"I wish there was something we can do to help," mused Shiny Eevee sadly.
"We gotta make them realize that the switch is stupid and is just bad, bad, bad!" agreed Lana's normal-colored Eevee.
"But, Billy and Harmony both have closed minds and all they care about is getting their performances in on time-bzt," reminded Manteon skeptically. "How would they know how Toril and Bernice are feeling if they keep going on like this and we can't stop them before the show starts on Saturday-bzt?"
"I guess we'll just have to let things run their own course, for now. It'll be up to Harmony and Billy alone to realize what their partners want before then," Glaceon decided, deeply worried for Toril, Bernice, and their human partners.
"Oh, darlings~! They're ready~!" Rarity sang as she and Pipp came over with racks of newly-designed circus clothing for the Pokemon that she called "Holowear" with the help of Pipp and the group's Equestria friends. "Ta-Da~! Check it out, I've made this new line specifically for the Pokemon and I think they're absolutely fabulous! I call this line-up, 'Holowear' - state-of-the-art performance clothing designed to catch the eyes of the circus crowd while displaying the best traits about you through lights and sound!"
"And, I've come up with a gorgeous new song that will really put some flare into these new outfits!" Pipp beamed happily.
"No...!"
"That fast?"
"Already-bzt?!" Craggeon, Brawleon, and Manteon gawked in surprise, looking at the new clothing Rarity made for them and their fellow Pokemon.
"Unbelievable! Sarah, did your friend really do all of this and all before the show this coming Saturday, while we're crunched for time as of now given Toril and Bernice's evolution mix-up?" Richard spluttered in shock as he and the equally-shocked Unova Movers eyed the costumes.
"Unfortunately, yes, Rarity and Pipp won't stop nagging and nagging at me about the whole thing yesterday and for the trip today. As soon as it sunk in their heads that we're going to perform at the circus this Saturday, they already got ideas for how to really dazzle their performances and make the crowds go wild with wide eyes with some new costumes for us," Sarah grumbled, giving Pipp and Rarity an annoyed glare.
"Some things never change," groaned Rainbow.
"Oh, brother," Zipp agreed with an exasperated sigh as they threw Rarity and Pipp leveled glares.
"Excuse us, darlings, but you must know that performing for a circus is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! You can't possibly expect all those people coming this Saturday to gawk at you as they take you in with nothing on or in your old rags! Why, all performances whether they be in a show or a circus like this one must go on without a hitch and regardless, I simply had to make all of these wonderful designs for the Pokemon and I think they'll look smashing with them on with my unique touch of contemporary beauty!"
"Besides, how can you expect yourselves and the Pokemon to wow everybody as you perform your acts and work your way through those dangerous daredevil stunts without a little pizazz to it? With all the dazzle you can spare, there's no room for error and you have to leave a lasting impression on the crowds."
Rainbow Dash, Zipp, and Applejack just rolled their eyes but Eternatus was just as blunt as ever when he told Rarity and Pipp, "Well, count me out. No way you mules are making any duds for me. No way, no how, I'm not doing it!"
"...You're kidding me?" Jolteon squeaked, dreading the thought of wearing a dress.
"Every last one of you, my little thunder kitten. Even your trainer's Absol," Rarity giggled as she petted Jolteon, getting a horrified look from Mulan as she turned to the fashionista unicorn in shock. "Speaking of which... Oh, Mulan~!"
"Oh no, I'm not wearing a dress! I don't feel comfortable in a skirt! I don't even wear clothes like everybody else-no! Forget it-stop! Hey! Ain't gonna happen! I'm not doing it! NO! I'm not wearing tights!" Mulan screamed with fear while being dragged with her along with Jolteon by her magic grasping their left paws, the tomboy Thunder Pokemon sweating with fear as she gave a begging look to her family to have them save her only to see them snigger at her expense as Rarity took them over for a quick change to see how they fare in their new costumes.
Soon, after Sarah and her Eeveelutions and Eevees decided to deal with Toril, Bernice, Harmony, and Billy's predicament later, Rarity gathered all of Sarah's Pokemon for a test fitting of her new costumes for them and needless to say, she was proud of what she had managed to accomplish for them:
- Mulan, after Tsukumaro's Absol was brought in to calm her down after her panic attack over wearing a potential dress, was now trying on a Fashionable Style teal top hat that had a white ribbon with a bow attached strapped around it, its three feelers hanging off to the left coupled with a teal cape on her back with silver diamonds on the corners
- Tundra was given a Theater Style red hat that had yellow dandelions on it coupled with a matching collar and an encrusted gold necklace with multiple colored gems embedded on it, the cavitate of her outfit being a majestic red cape that had gold edges and red silk tied around her ankles that floated above her paws
- Kaji and Amber were given outfits inspired by medieval knights in shining armor called Knight Style which had silver armor that had gold plating on the middle including a helmet as well as knee, shoulder, wing, chest, stomach, and knee plates
- For Cinderace and Scorch, they were given Tuxedo Style in which they were given stylish black top hats with red feathers attached to each hat, matching their tuxedos worn over grey shirts with red ties and the shirt tails extending to their shins while exposing their tails between the tail points
- Draco was given Champion Style Holowear which featured a large black jacket that had gold rims and small designs on it as well. A pair of boxing gloves hung down from the jacket in addition to a comedic-style champion's belt worn around his waist that had a symbol shaped like his claws
- For Jolteon and Espeon (much to the poor tomboy Thunder Pokemon's mix of relief and chagrin), they were given Performer Style Holowear in which they each wore a small black, gold, red, and yellow headpiece that had a large bow on the back, black and red-patterned neckpieces that had a gold rim, both coupled with their purple-black multi-layered dresses that extended outward like the feathers of a peacock
- Unlike Scorch and Cinderace with their outfits, Glaceon's Tuxedo Style saw her wearing a purple top hat with a pink bow wrapped around it and a gold bell in the middle coupled with a Pokeball-shaped clip that held her outfit's beige chest piece and a purple dress to match that draped over her
- Star and Cobalt were given an Aristocrat Style, wearing four-pointed extended headpieces on their heads and blue and (transparent) silver suits that had leaf patterns on their lower halves along with purple wristbands and purple on the edges of their pants
- Blitz's outfit was a Band Style as he wore a plastic mini guitar on his back that matched his species' trademark colors while he wore a black-hooded jacket and a pair of yellow and black gloves
- Curly, on the other hand, wore Fashionable Style Holowear that came with a pink sunhat, fushia pink and teal flowers fixed to its left side, and a teal dress complete with a small pink bow in the middle
- Sylveon wore a Poncha Style Holowear which was a yellow poncho that had brown coloring on the hood while wearing yellow and white ankle coverings
- Zeraora also wore a Band Style Holorwear similar to that of Blitz but instead, apart from a dark-blue bass guitar that had a white center and white stripes on the back of it that he wore from his back, his Holowear had electric blue rims, yellow patches with lightning bolts in the middle, and a fluffy blue collar
- Xena and Talonflame declined to wear their outfits as they prefer them to not get in the way of their flying abilities which Rarity understood as she kept them in storage, much to their relief (and the jealousy of the Pokemon that were subjected to her outfits)
- But, between him and Zamazenta (who also declined to wear his outfit from the fashionista unicorn), Zacian was the odd one out as he wore a Special Style Holowear complete with his very own black top hat that had a pink bow strapped around it (which matched his ponytails in his Hero of Many Battles form) and a classic tuxedo that had the arms around his front legs while the rest of it covered half of his body
The younger Warrior Pokemon and the Thunderclap Pokemon were embarrassed as Zamazenta and Zorua laughed at them in their new get-ups for the performance on Saturday, Talonflame joining in their laughter as soon as she saw them. Zeraora stayed silent as he simply rubbed the back of his head and looked away while Zacian glared at his older brother who was still laughing at him in his new outfit from Rarity as he blushed.
"Stop laughing, Zam! Stop laughing, it's not funny!" he pouted angrily to Zamazenta.
"Sorry, Zash...! Better you than me!" Zamazenta cackled, leaving Zacian to seethe in fury and humiliation as he blushed even harder.
"This is so embarrassing..." grumbled Zeraora, sharing Zacian's sentiments as he was also not too fond of the outfit Rarity had given him.
"Well, that's your loss, mates. 'Cause I'm digging the new look Rarity made for me," Kaji shrugged, already liking his outfit.
"Me, too," Amber agreed, checking herself in her Knight Style.
"...This is so not happening!" whined Jolteon as she looked herself all over and blushed in total embarrassment in her Performer Style Holowear.
"Oh, hush, Jolty! I think you look marvelous in that outfit, this one that lovely unicorn made just screams 'me' all over," replied Espeon, already loving her own Performer Style Holowear.
"ENOUGH WITH YOUR 'JOLTY' PET NAME! CUT IT OUT, OKAY?!" Jolteon snapped, feeling even more humiliated over her sister using her pet name for her.
The following Friday was the last day for rehearsals as everybody gathered around and got into their respective groups for their final practice sessions. For Harmony, this was her last chance to get her routine together with her Pokemon Circus team called Fire Team. She can only hope that things would run much smoother than they were the previous evening when her temporary partnership with Toril ended up being nothing but a dud.
"Fire Team, assemble!" she called as a Darumaka, Litleo, and Torchic gathered and stood at attention, allowing her to point them to a target set up for them. "I want each of you to use Ember!"
Litleo, Torchic, and Darumaka all fired Ember at her order as they tried to hit the target to ensure they get themselves warmed up and ready for the rehearsals but none of them seemed to hit the target as she had hoped. That was until a Thundershock managed to hit the target, leaving Harmony surprised to find out that the culprit was Bernice, staring happily at her as she returned to her side.
"Oh! Well, hi there, Bernice. Why are you here?" she quizzed with a nervous smile. "You should be working with Billy today, right?"
"Nothing matters as long as I'm with you," Bernice replied as she happily nuzzled her partner, leaving Harmony to look at her sadly as she slowly realized that she missed her badly and wanted to be with her again.
"Let's go, use Thundershock!" Billy announced, commencing his Pokemon team, Electric Team (composed of Elekid, Shinx, and Helioptile), to hit an identical target for their routine.
However, like with Fire Team on Harmony's side, none of them could hit the bullseye on the target's center until a fireball from Ember managed to make a hit. Billy was surprised but then, he noticed Toril having returned to him after his short-lived stint with Harmony.
"Oh! Toril, it's you!" Billy blinked in surprise.
"Hey, Billy, I'm back," Toril smiled warmly, leaving his partner to nervously smile at him as he knelt down to him.
"Why are you here? You know you should be practicing with Harmony today for tomorrow's show, right?"
"Nah, you're the only one meant for me. It's always been the two of us together and that's how it should be," Toril replied, giving his human partner a determined glare as he wanted to be back by his side as well.
At that moment, as was the case with Harmony and Bernice, Billy slowly started to come to the realization that Toril couldn't bear to be apart from him. Both acrobats could see that both Toril and Bernice didn't want to go through with the switch they made the previous day and would much rather be back with them in the hopes that they can somehow make their evolution mix-up work to their advantage.
This was made all the more apparent when Billy and Harmony and their evolved partners regrouped with the Showman and told him about the latter two's feelings on the previous arrangements.
"Hmm, is this true? You're both saying that Bernice and Toril simply can't accept working with a different partner and would much rather stay with each of you respectively?" the Showman pondered thoughtfully.
"Yes," Billy and Harmony confirmed, still on the fence about their partners' decision to stay with them respectively instead of going through with the switch as intended.
"Listen, Bernice. I understand if you wanted to be with me for the performance but my performance is totally fire-based and I planned it to be all Fire Pokemon had you been a Flareon, do you understand?" Harmony explained to Bernice as gently as she could.
"Yeah, but nothing makes me happier than to keep performing with you," Bernice cooed as she nuzzled her partner warmly again.
"Toril, you know this isn't going to work. My performance is completely electric-based and if you were a Jolteon, it would've worked without a hitch," Billy grumbled, only to stop as Toril just gave him a determined yet hopeful glare.
He didn't need to say anything; Toril knew as clear as day that their original routine was out the window and he should work on Harmony's performance just as Bernice should do the same with his partner's performance but he still held onto hope that they can somehow pull it off despite him being a Fire Type now.
Then, as if he got another Brain Blast from seeing how much Bernice and Toril cherished working with their old partners, the Showman suggested again, "Aha, I got it! I'm not sure if this will work but since it's clear that Bernice and Toril couldn't bear to be separated from you, why don't you two continue rehearsing with your original partners instead of switching them? And, that means...adventure!
Harmony and Billy pondered; they were both determined to pull off their performances on the following Saturday without a hitch and they needed to be in top form along with their partners. On the other hand, they were still sketchy on whether or not Bernice and Toril can pull things off despite their evolution mix-up and they haven't fully understood how much they wanted to continue working with them despite their current bizarre circumstances.
Without much of a choice and once again remembering that the show must go on, the two of them reluctantly agreed, "Alright, then. I suppose it won't hurt to have Bernice back with me and Fire Team."
"We'll do our best, if it'll make Toril happy."
At that moment, the heroes had returned to the big top to wrap up their rehearsals for their routines before the moment of truth the following day. Javi wasn't with them as he was currently performing with Richard and the Unova Movers for a performance that was arranged for them prior to the first show (which would serve as a warm-up for them until then).
"Hi, everybody!"
"Good morning," Ash and Sarah greeted.
"Oh, welcome back, my friends! You're just in time for our final rehearsal," the Showman smiled before the heroes took notice of Bernice and Toril preparing to rehearse with their old partners again.
"Mr. Showman, why are Bernice and Toril back together with Harmony and Billy instead of being switched for the performance tomorrow?" Mallow asked curiously.
"I thought Bernice was supposed to be with Billy while Toril was meant to work with Harmony," added a confused Sophocles.
"Didn't they agree to go through with the switch yesterday?" Kiawe inquired.
"It appears Toril and Bernice made it clear that they refused to work with a different partner as I've hoped since no progress has been made by that point. So, we decided that having them work with their true partners is the best thing for them to do. We'll see how this goes about this time," the Showman explained as they saw Harmony and Billy prepare to do their original routine with the Pokemon in question.
When all was set and ready for them, Harmony grabbed hold of the trapeze swing on her level before she let it go and allowed it for Team Fire and Bernice to carry out the first step of their routine.
"Now!" she signaled, allowing Litleo, Darumaka, and Torchic to fire Ember while Bernice fired Thundershock.
The trapeze swing's ropes gained a fiery appearance as Harmony had hoped as Ember made a hit but she became skeptical when Bernice's Thundershock hit the bar and electrified it.
"Hmm... Well, the electricity on the bar is pretty and all, but..." she began nervously.
This was not what Bernice wanted to hear as she felt her heart flutter miserably and became close to tears as she cried, "...No, i-i-it can't be. I, I failed..."
Things were just as rocky for Toril as he and Electric Team prepared for their routine with Billy as they positioned themselves on their level above Bernice, Harmony, and their team. Once Billy took hold of his trapeze, he let it go and allowed it to swing for his Pokemon to set everything up.
"Okay, now!" he called, allowing Helioptile, Elekid, and Shinx to use Thundershock while Toril fired Ember.
Like with Harmony and her trapeze swing, Thunder Shock gave an electrifying appearance to the swing's ropes but Billy also became skeptical when Toril's Ember attack gave a fiery appearance to the bar. "Uh, well... Fire definitely looks powerful, but, I don't...
Toril's heart sank; as was the case with Bernice, this wasn't what he wanted to hear as tears of shame started to stream down his face and he quietly muttered, "No..."
The Showman was now worried as he was forced to heave a heavy sigh and make a hard call, "Oh dear, it seems as though working with their original partners again hasn't worked out as well as I've hoped, too. I'm sorry, everybody, I guess I have no choice but to consider cancelling the flying trapeze finale, for now."
Everyone was shocked and even a majority of the performers and their Pokemon could hardly believe what they had heard. This was also not what they were hoping to hear when things had started to go smoothly for Toril and Bernice after the switch proved a failure.
"Cancel the flying trapeze?!"
"No more finale?"
"That's terrible!" Mallow, Lana, and Lillie gasped in horror.
"B-But, what about the crowd for tomorrow's show?"
"Right before the opening night?"
"So, soon?" inquired Ash, Kiawe, and Sophocles, feeling just as worried and horrified.
Harmony understood their feelings but she decided to trust the Showman's judgment as she said to them, "He's right, you guys. I'm just as worried as you are and I hate the thought of cancelling the finale, too, but if we continue to go through with this, it would ultimately result in a second-class performance before paying customers. And, I can't accept that knowing what's at stake here."
This further dampened Bernice's spirits when she heard everything and realized what it meant as Harmony kindly turned to her Jolteon and reassured her, "I'm sorry, Bernice, this is absolutely not your fault. It's just, I'll have to take a break. Things will work out soon, eventually..."
"Maybe we could-!" Bernice begged but sadly gave up trying to convince her partner as she left to think things through in her dressing room. "Oh, Harmony..."
"Showman, did I hear right?" Billy asked as he and Toril approached him, looking just as down and disappointed.
"I'm afraid so, Billy. I'm sorry, for you, Toril, Bernice, and Harmony," the Showman confirmed regretfully.
Billy sighed sadly, "Yeah, I guess it can't be helped..."
He then turned to Toril, who was absolutely crushed over the announcement as he then said to him, "...Don't worry, Toril. Just, please, give me a few minutes. But, just know that, none of it is your fault..."
And, with that, a disappointed Billy then made his way back to his dressing room leaving Toril to look at him sadly before he and Bernice looked at each other.
They know now that it wasn't their fault for the finale being canned, their partners needed to be convinced that they don't have to stick to one Pokemon Type and that they must embrace their newfound differences to make it spectacular for the crowds coming to the opening weekend.
With a determined nod shared between them, they both ran off to carry out whatever plan they had in mind to save the circus. This drew the attention of both Sarah's Eevees as well as her Eeveelutions as they quickly followed them.
"Eevee, Umbreon, guys?"
"Where are you going-huh?" Lillie and Ash began before Sarah gently stopped them as she held her right arm in front of them and the others.
When they turned to her, she simply smiled and shook her head. At that moment, they understood as they all smiled warmly while they watched her Eeveelutions and her Eevees vanish after Toril and Bernice. It was now up to them to see what they're up to and give all the help they can provide to help them save the circus.
"Just make it count," the little princess prayed quietly to her Pokemon.
[Pokemon POV]
Both Eevees and the Eeveelutions rushed out of the big top as they arrived backstage, wondering where Toril and Bernice are and what they could be doing now. The two Evolution Pokemon sniffed around before they caught their scents and rushed over to where they thought they could be.
"Over there!"
"This way!" they shouted, leading their extended Eeveelution family to where Toril and Bernice's current location.
When they finally found the pair, they were surprised to find them working together as they fired their respective attacks at a target, seeing Bernice fire Thundershock at the bullseye.
"Go!" she signaled, allowing Toril to fire Ember at the target while getting on her back quickly.
"Fire!" he shouted, allowing Bernice to hop on his back quickly as well before she fired Thundershock again at the bullseye.
"We gotta get this down, somehow," Bernice said as the two of them thought about how they can improve their finale.
"Toril, Bernice," Umbreon called, getting their pair's attention as they saw their fellow Eeveelutions and their pre-evolved forms before them.
"Oh, hey guys," Toril greeted them.
"Sorry your finale got cancelled just now, you both must be pretty crushed," Vaporeon apologized. "Yeah, sorry about that. We didn't mean to screw up like we did," Bernice sighed in self-loathing. "You all must be pretty bummed when the Showman decided to cancel our finale with Billy and Harmony," added Toril.
"Hey, why start being a bunch of sad sacks now? You didn't let anybody down, not by a long shot," Jolteon gently rebutted.
"Yeah, we enjoyed your fire and electricity combination. You just wanted to try something different while making the best out of this unintentional mix-up, even Jolty likes your style," Flareon smiled.
"Don't you dare, Sis! I hate that pet name, I'm not Jolty!" snapped Jolteon in annoyance as she tried to make Flareon shut up while making a mental note to get back at Espeon again, surprising and confusing Toril and Bernice.
"Jolty?" they echoed, puzzled.
"Don't ask," the Tomboy Lighting Pokemon grumbled with a pout, blushing with embarrassment as she turned away.
"Anyway, back on topic, as Flareon said, you wanted to make the best of this unintentional mix-up with your evolutions. You might be onto something with your new combo," Spookeon replied to Toril and Bernice, garnering confused looks from both Pokemon.
"We, are?" they asked, tilting their heads in confusion.
"Watch and learn," Flareon smirked as she took Toril's place while Jolteon took Bernice's."Shall we, Sister?"
"Yeah, as long as you don't call me 'Jolty' as Espeon usually does. You know why I hate it," Jolteon nodded, preparing herself. Sharing knowing grins, both Flareon and Jolteon sparked as they glowed with their respective fire and electric energies before they jumped into the air and fired their chosen attacks.
"Rising Voltage!"
"Burning Jealousy!"
Toril and Bernice watched in awe and fascination as Flareon and Jolteon manipulated their attacks and combined them to form pillars of fire and electricity, the electric pillar wrapping around the fire pillar like a snake, leaving the two in absolute shock at what they're seeing.
"Whoa!"
"What are they doing?!" they spluttered.
"You'll see," chuckled Umbreon before he looked at Shiny Eevee and winked.
Shiny Eevee, realizing what Umbreon meant, nodded brightly before she joined the quartet and fired her own attack to finish what Jolteon and Flareon started, earning additional gasps from Toril and Bernice as she shouted, "Bouncy Bubble!"
With a whip of her tail and covering herself in a bright cyan aura, Eevee fired a string of bubbles towards the pillar of fire and electricity, wrapping around the fire pillar as a second layer but moving downward to give off an everlasting shine from their crystal-clear surfaces.
"Woooooow..." the pair breathed before they saw the pillars hit the target and explode in a shower of red, cyan, and yellow sparkles all around them, Eevee, and their fellow Eeveelutions.
"Unreal...!"
"Beautiful...!" Bernice and Toril gawked in wonder as their eyes twinkled at the sight before them.
The three Pokemon looked over to them with a bright smile as Veneon remarked, "So, you see? There may be a silver lining to your evolution mix-up, after all, as you've already known by now."
"You mean, like us combining fire and electricity to create something more beautiful than what can be done with fire and electricity alone?" Bernice clarified.
"Yes, our human mother taught us to combine our attacks to create a better and more powerful yet beautiful move compared to our regular individual attacks and she trained us in this manner from time to time," Helioseon nodded.
"Your trainers will see the potential in combining both fire and electricity for your flying trapeze finale, they just need to realize that true beauty is in the eye of the beholder," Brawleon added.
"What does that mean?" Toril puzzled, tilting his head in confusion.
"It means you must let Billy and Harmony see your new combination for your trapeze act for themselves and discover how truly beautiful it is for the circus' finale," Leafeon explained.
"Your trainers' finale can be saved this way, you just need to show them how beautiful fire and electricity together can do them wonders. They won't provide any crowd pleasers going forward by standing still and doing the same things over and over again," said Sylveon.
"Yeah, they get boring after a while if they're individual acts and the crowd would want something different!" Eevee squeaked.
"What we're saying is this, try to convince Harmony and Billy to give your fire and electricity combination another chance but with an open mind. Have them see the potential of it for the sake of the crowd on the opening night and what they want to see," Umbreon finished kindly.
Bernice and Toril took their words to heart as they thought over everything they heard and saw just now. Deciding to take a chance and put the words of their fellow Eeveelutions into practice, they jumped into the air and fired Ember and Thundershock together in a combo attack.
And, this time, as was the case with Flareon, Jolteon, and Eevee's combo attack, Bernice and Toril's Ember and Thunderbolt combo spiraled around each other and merged before exploding into a beautiful fireworks display, causing the pair to gasp in amazement and awe of their work as bright smiles decorated their faces.
"Hey, it worked!"
"We did it, we really did it!" they screamed with overwhelming joy over their success.
"That's it!"
"Now, you got it!" Espeon and Sylveon cheered before they all heard...
"...Toril?"
"...Bernice?"
"Huh?" the two Eeveelutions and the entire Eevee Squad turned to find an awestruck Harmony and Billy along with the heroes standing before them.
Harmony and Billy didn't know what to say as they were amazed and inspired by what they've just borne witness to. The two of them had been stewing in their own disappointment and anger at each other for the finale being canned despite their best efforts and were set on igniting their rivalry again but after some convincing from Sarah to come with her and her friends and family to check up on Bernice and Toril, what they found was astonishing.
Toril and Bernice were working together to put up a new routine combining both of their elements and taking whatever advice was given to them by her Eevee and her Eeveelutions into account that led them to making a successful fire-electricity combo.
"Toril..."
"Bernice, what is it that you two are doing?"
"Why are you two practicing together?" Billy and Harmony quizzed, still puzzled as to what their partners planned on doing.
"If I may, I think they're both doing all of this for you two," Sarah informed, surprising both acrobats as they turned to her.
"I know you two didn't want Bernice and Toril to evolve the way they did with your little mix-up slip-up yesterday but even with that unexpected change, they've adapted to it very well and they're using their new powers to make your performances better."
Asha nodded with a smile as she realized what her sister was getting on about before she addressed Billy and Harmony herself, "From the looks of it, they're making the best of what you two see as a bad situation. You're both used to specializing in Electric Types and Fire Types individually and that's what's making you both hit a roadblock. If you keep performing the same routine after a while, the circus will get boring for everyone and they won't want to come back."
Virizion smiled warmly as she then told the acrobats, "Your partners' new forms are a blessing in disguise, my friends. As you saw with the princess' Jolteon, Flareon, and Eevee, and from Toril and Bernice just now, no singular Pokemon Type is better than the other. Fire and electricity are one in the same and these two adapted to their change easily for the sake of your happiness. You're afraid of changing the status quo between you two and that's understandable but that fear is also your greatest enemy in turn. You must see this predicament through Toril and Bernice's eyes with an open mind and overcome the very thing that you're most afraid to lose out of this change instead of being blind to the truth."
Bernice and Toril looked at their trainers happily, agreeing with Asha, Sarah, and Virizion's words. Harmony and Billy took some time to get the truth through in their heads but when they saw how happy their partners were and that they didn't mind the unexpected mix-up, they now seem to fully understand how badly they went about the whole thing and at the cost of their own happiness as well as Toril and Bernice's.
They gave guilty and apologetic smiles toward their partners as they knelt down to them and said, "Oh, thank you, Bernice..."
"Thanks to you too, Toril."
"We're sorry we got carried away with everything, we were so afraid to lose what made us so unique in our own rights that we didn't care how we've taken you and your feelings on everything happening now for granted."
"But, seeing how you two are taking your unintentional evolutions in stride, I guess we realize now that we did have closed minds. We had no idea how well you were handling all of this and we want to apologize, for everything."
The two acrobats then looked at each other and for the first time, they shared a warm smile as they then decided, "You know, Billy, our partners are really giving it their all."
"If they can do that, Harmony, I don't see how we can't do the same."
"Let's all combine our skills, however we can..."
"...for a great performance the crowd will remember for always and always."
"Together!" the pair finished, sharing a handshake as everyone smiled at them finally putting their rivalry aside to work on a joint finale thanks to Bernice and Toril and their new friends.
[End Pokemon POV]
Saturday came by in a flash of excitement and the time had come for the circus to finally open to the public for the opening weekend. Everyone came from far and wide across Alola and the world to attend what is potentially the next Greatest Show on Earth including the Island Kahunas (Nanu, as usual, being guilt tripped by Acerola and Mimikins into joining everyone, both of whom are also present in the audience), and Lana, Mallow, Sophocles, Kiawe, and Lillie's families. Even the Frontier Brains including Brandon and Scott took time off their duties again to see Race perform in the circus.
Devon, Casey, Zayto, and their respective Power Ranger teams were amongst the crowds in the front along with Asha, Proud, and Ziracon (the former wanting to see her little sister perform and her Altaria, being a shy and timid Pokemon, having a case of stage fright and not wanting to perform as a result).
Along with Hobbes (who had his video camera at the ready) and Lusamine, Gladion, Bones, his Umbreon, and Silvally were in the audience as well. They were surprised to hear that Gladion's little sister was going to perform in a circus when they were told and so they had to come over and see her and Snowy perform.
While the entire troupe was getting themselves ready for the show to start, on Sarah, Richard, and the Unova Movers on their end backstage, they and Javi were going to open the show with a musical number of their own. They went through one last quick rundown of their number and they have a surprise number ready for the finale upon Billy and Harmony's request the previous evening.
Understandably, as much as they were excited, they were also feeling nervous. Sunny and her friends were especially antsy while she was on her roller skates and in her Alicorn form. Even Sarah's Pokemon are back in their new circus outfits Rarity had made for them (despite Jolteon's chagrin over having to wear her own again).
"Dad, they're ready and waiting," Pignite informed after taking a quick peek at the crowd that came in.
"I see, they waste no time and I can imagine this show being sold out already. Alright, everybody, the moment of truth. There's no going back for all of us once we step out into the rings," Richard said, bracing himself for what was to come.
"It's time to start everything off with a bang, is everyone prepared?" Sarah asked.
"Yeah, but... I'm a little nervous, I'm wondering how my dad would take me performing in front of a crowd like that," Javi put in, starting to have butterflies in his stomach while he had his keytar ready.
"You told us that you've made your feelings about his lack of support for you and your love for music known and that he said he was sorry for being so harsh on you. If Warden Garcia can finally appreciate your talent for music and give you the support you need, I think he'll have no problem cheering you on during our number and the finale."
"...Yeah, I guess you're right," Javi relented with a smile.
Race was with them but he was in a ringleader's outfit that Rarity managed to make for him the previous day and he was feeling the pressure as he told his girlfriend with a groan, "I don't know, Island Girl, this feels a little...off, for me. Are you sure you want us to go through with this gig and with my WHOLE FAMILY watching again?"
"Where's your sense of adventure, Race? It's only for the first show and we've already gotten our parts down. You're gonna make a great ringmaster alongside the Showman when you go out there, they'll be proud of you!"
"Yeah, but not like this, I mean!"
"Oh, I'm so excited, Zipp! My best performance yet AND your absolute first, this is going to make headlines back home! I can see the headlines now, 'Royal Sisters and Friends Wowing Circus Crowd on Opening Day!' this is gonna be great!" Pipp buzzed eagerly with Zipp frowning at the lily flowers dotting her mane in accordance with Rarity and her little sister's wishes for her circus appearance.
"You know I didn't ask for this sort of thing, right?" she grumbled, feeling tempted to swat the lillies off.
"Why, Zipp, perish the thought! I know you hate having to look so frilly but for your sister's sake, please go through with it," Rarity pleaded.
"Mother is always wanting us to look our best even before everyone back home found out about our pulley and wire tricks, you wouldn't want her to go aggro on you for not looking your part, don't you?" Pipp added, winking at Izzy as she grinned with a nod, holding her phone to record the whole performance.
Zipp groaned in annoyance as she glared at them while giving a defeated and simple, "...Fine, for Mother."
"Settle down, sugarcube. I know prissy ain't your thing and I can relate to that but at least you'll do your ma proud by showing her what else you can do. If you can sing, she'll worry for you less," Applejack put in.
"Look on the bright side, it'll give us a chance to hear how you and Hitch croak by comparison," Pinkie giggled.
"I know, I want to make her proud. I just don't want to do so on embarrassing levels or on anything like this? I'd rather help Billy, Harmony, Toril, and Bernice with their trapeze finale."
"She's right, you guys. You gotta be kidding me, I'm a sheriff, not a soloist," Hitch agreed, feeling a little awkward despite some encouragement from his animal friends that tagged along with him and the rest of the Mane 5. "I can't go out there without knowing that I'll embarrass myself in front of everybody if I somehow crack."
"I'm nervous, too, Hitch. But, at least we'll be together to get through the show and besides, Harmony and Billy are now ready for their finale along with Bernice and Toril. No harm, no foul, right? Please, do it, for me..." Sunny replied encouragingly.
Hitch stared at Sunny as she gazed at him with hopeful eyes before he turned to his animal companions and they gave him encouraging nods and smiles, saying that they'll support him and his friends, too.
Eventually, Hitch sighed in defeat and then said, "...Alright, for you, Sunny."
Then, everybody heard the opening fanfare for the show and realized it was time to take their places, all of them scrambling to their positions as they waited for the curtain to open while the Showman kicked off the event.
"Well, it's showtime. Ready, Richard, Javi?" Sarah asked the music artists in question as the Showman made his announcement with a renewed vigor.
"Yep, it's time."
"Good luck," they smiled bravely, all of them steeling themselves for their opening number and the start of the show (Race and Sarah exchanging knowing nods in the process).
The Unova Movers nodded in agreement as they prepared to give the performance of a lifetime and one where they'd have their friends, many of which are family to the girl responsible for helping them out of their previous slump, would get to perform with them in front of a giant crowd.
"And now, to open what is the Greatest Show on Earth after the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus, may I present to you all: Princess Sarah Tomoe, her family and friends, and Richard...and the Unovaaaaaaaa Movers!" the Showman finished as Sarah mounted Winter and the lights dimmed with everyone in their places and the music started playing.
(Song 1: The Greatest Show {The Greatest Showman})
Whoa
Whoa
Whoa
Whoa
Whoa
As the audence clapped and cheered, from the air, Pipp, Zipp, Hitch (riding aboard Willow (who decided to join in and perform, hoping that her rider and Aiyon would be watching her from the audience) with his animal companions beside him for comfort), and Winter (carrying Sarah) entered the stage, the spotlight shining on them before they were joined by Shadow, Race, Thunder, and the rest of the dragons including the Eight Queens, Thorn's adopted children, and Cyrus with Hiccup, his friends, and Toothless, Stryka, Stormfly, Meatlugs, Hookfang, and Barf and Belch coming in after. Then, with the assistance of his animal friends, Hitch began to sing to start things off with a bang.
Hitch: Colossal we come these renegades in the ring
All: Whoa
Whoa
Whoa
Whoa
Hitch: Where the lost get found in the crown of the circus king
As the song went on, the dragons (sans Queens Coral, Glory, Sequioa, and Jewel) blasted their fire to create fireworks around the entire group while the rest of Sarha and Race's extended family joined in the fray, Nebby rearing on his hindlegs as he roared proudly in the background. The younger and baby dragons also came in, fluttering around their human caretaker and family before the blasted their own fire, creating additional sparkles in the air just as Kion, Kiara, and Simba fired Flamethrower from their mouths but in controlled variants to simulate circus firebreathers.
Barring Eternatus (as expected), the young couple's medium-sized Pokemon Partners danced around them in a syncronized circle as they twirled in sync while Sunny danced on her roller skates off to the side in a circle, being as happy as she can be.
All: Don't fight it, it's coming for you, running at ya
It's only this moment, don't care what comes after
It's blinding, outshining anything that you know
Just surrender 'cause you're calling and you wanna go
Where it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are running the night
Impossible comes true, intoxicating you
Oh, this is the greatest show
As Discord worked behind the scenes to work on the ropes, some of the female performers on stage that were hooked up to them were lifted into the air with Breezeon and Wyveon combining Dual Wingbeat and and Flamethrower to create more sparks around the performers, making the crowd gasp in wonder and awe while the young couple continued to smile.
At their princess' command, Zacian and Zamazenta jumped through hoops set up along both sides followed by Sunny with Kamikaze, Nirmala, Rani, Chuluun, Janna, Vitani, Shabaha, Tazama, Imara, Kasi, Umbra, Boilyo, Suruk, Makucha, Tindo, Moseka, Sengo, Leki, Nandi, and Olee all following their lead through flaming hoops set up front. All the while, Sarabi, Nala, and Serafina were by their side, gently expelling Blizzard and Heatwave to create a sparkling mist for the crowd.
We light it up, we won't come down
And the sun can't stop us now
Watching it come true, it's taking over you
Oh, this is the greatest show
Kion, Kiara, and their pride continued to enjoy themselves and have fun, roaring at the crowd with Noble Roar while Tifu, Cinder, and Zuri then fired Ember in the air where they dispersed and showed Nebby happily roaring while he displayed incredible balance, now completely standing on his hindlegs.
It's everything you ever want
It's everything you ever need
And it's here right in front of you
This is where you wanna be (this is where you wanna be)
Sarah's Eeveelutions took center stage as they expertly combined their Shadow Ball attacks before Danny and Danielle (both of whom are floating in the air akin to Olympia's Meowstic partners) used Psychic to create rings of Ghost Type energy, making the crowd gasp in awe of the display before them.
It's everything you ever want
It's everything you ever need
And it's here right in front of you
This is where you wanna be
This is where you wanna be
Then, Star and Candy along with Goodra and the other Dragon Types (sans Flygon, Thundereon, Ghost (Dragapult), Dracozolt, Tyrantrum, Tyrunt, and Tuliza) entered the fray, unleashing either Dragon Pulse, Dragon Breath, or Dragon Rage, all three Dragon Type attacks converging to create a multi-colored dragon that flew around the sphere of Ghost Type energy.
When it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are running the night
Impossible comes true, it's taking over you
Deciding to make an exception involving her Angelic Powers, she activated them and emitted white sparkles that hung around the Ghost Type energy rings before she, Danny, and Danielle manipulated them and the sphere to hang around Zipp, the tomboy Pegasus smirking as she prepared to stage her part before the crowd.
With a great flap of her wings, Zipp dispersed the sphere which unleashed an array of multi-colored sparkles before Slurpuff and Sylveon combined their Fairy Wing attacks for Sarah to create a solid board made out of Fairy Type energy that Pipp used to land on before she then flew over the crowd alongside her sister. All the while, Zipp then sang her heart out despite her insecurities about doing her little sister's passion for the show with Richard and the Unova Movers strumming, banging, dancing, and rocking away on ground level with their dances and music.
Oh, this is the greatest show
We light it up, we won't come down
And the sun can't stop us now
Watching it come true, it's taking over you
This is the greatest show
Meanwhile, Sarah and Race created some Elemental Magic spheres that Danny and Danielle took using Psychic while Thunder and Winter spun around in the air at a majestic rate with all six Night Lights joining Thunder inside the circle, being very careful as to not touch the spheres.
Danny and Danielle soon moved the spheres around each other before Wu and Wei stepped in and gently expelled their mist that the Meowstic Siblings used to curl around the spheres in their circle.
Thunder and the Night Lights, having so much fun during their part, sparked up with their electric powers before they connected the spheres and Wu and Wei's mist together, leaving Aqua to put on the finishing touches as she provided a soul vocal while singing and used Sparkling Aria to creat and malipulate her bubbles around the ring which created an multi-elemental sphere of beauty that got the entire crowd on its feet.
When it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are running the night
Impossible comes true, it's taking over you
Oh, this is the greatest show
We light it up, we won't come down
And the walls can't stop us now
I'm watching it come true, it's taking over you
Oh, this is the greatest show
Once they were finished, Danny and Danielle then tossed the ring up into the air where Hiccup and Zenna grabbed it while they laughed happily and Hookfang flared up and he flew right through it. Then, handing it to Barf and Belch, they threw it into the air before igniting their mist, allowing Stormfly to grab it with her prehensile tail and twirl it around like it was a hula hoop.
She then tossed it over to Aegis, Gale, Haze, Starlight, and Eclipse as they got into a circle and caught the ring with their tails, launching it back up to where Sarah's younger and baby Pokemon are, all of them leaping through it with great timing and expert percision as it climbed higher and higher (hollering and howling with cheers and laughter themselves).
'Cause everything you want is right in front of you
And you see the impossible is coming true
And the walls can't stop us (now) now, yeah
Finally, while Javi performs a solo on his keytar (playing alongside Richard and the Unova Movers with great skill and talent, even steal the spotlight for a moment or two at times) it was Skitty, Snom, and Swablu's turn (with Snom riding on Skitty's head) as they jumped and flew through the ring before the Kitten Pokemon nudged the Worm Pokemon into the air while the Cotton Bird Pokemon smiled, the pair cheering happily at each other as they began to glow a bright blue. To the audience's shock, they were astounded to see them evolving while the performers smiled at them before they transformed into a beautiful Altaria (shocking Ziracon as he took in the beauty exuded by the female of his species in Sarah's care) and an elegant Frosmoth (amazing his Jungle Pokemon siblings as they cheered for him).

Together, the two of them smiled even brighter as they spun around through a mix of Mist and Powder Snow to create a large cloud of sparkling eyes before firing it at the elemental ring, both of them shattering to unleash an explosion of color and sparkles that shook the audience to its core as they gave the group before them a standing ovation, the performers eventually coming down on the ground as the song came to an end.

The crowd was absolutely nuts by the time the first performance ended as they continued to give a standing ovation, some of them whistling with delight and glee at the performers before them. This was not at all what they had expected and coupled with Richard, Javi, and the Unova Movers' talents for music and dance, they were all blown away. Even Ash and the others and their Pokemon couldn't help but join in the applause as they smiled brightly for their friends.
"Bravo!"
"Marvelous!"
"Wonderful!"
"That's our Ponchita!"
"Magnificent!"
"Amazing!" Spencer, Agatha, Lucy, James, Burnet, and Kukui exclaimed, also being amongst the audience and having seen everything while their Pokemon cheered as well for the opening performance.
Next, it was the Pokemon School Gang and Ash's turn as they took their places for their parts of the circus with Ash and Pikachu and Sophocles and Togedemaru going first with their own routines. Dressed in a blue suitand hat with Pikachu having a jester's hat on his head and wearing a red and yellow suit, Ash and Sophocles and their partners were ready to demonstrate their routines to the audience which they dubbed the Thunderbolt Diabolo and the Zing Zap Juggling Sticks.
"Let's go, Pikachu!" Ash called to his partner.
"**Got it!**" Pikachu agreed, watching as his best friend expertly swung the diabolo, the axle moving according to his movements before he lifted the axle into the air and tossed it to Pikachu and he bounced it up with his tail.
"Use Thunderbolt!" Upon Ash's call, Pikachu used his Thunderbolt on the axle, keeping it up in the air for a short period of time to give them a better chance of catching it.
Sophocles now juggled the long blue stick with his two smaller yellow ones easily while Togedemaru bounced happily, waiting for his signal. "Here we go, Togedemaru! Ha! Use Zing Zap!" he shouted, tossing the blue stick into the air and allowing her to shock it, coating it with yellow electric energy.
"We can do it, buddy!"
"Awesome Pikachu!"
Once they were ready, Ash and Sophocles eyed the axle and the stick as Pikachu stopped using Thunderbolt and lets the axle down while Sophocles positions himself as the stick came back to him. And, this time without any further mishaps, they were able to catch the axle and the stick, juggling and lifting them up and down with ease before they launched them at each other and they collided in midair, giving off sparkles and a big bang blast.
"Now, wasn't that a fabulous performance?" the Showman smiled as the crowd cheered for them, Pikachu, and Togedemaru.
The others soon followed with their routines that entertained everybody just as much as Ash and Sophocles' routines had; Lillie, Mallow, and Lana along with Sandy, Snowy, and the female Shaymin performed a dance routine which featured another traditional Hawaiian dance (similar to the dance featured in Jessie's Alola Holidays) which they dubbed "Our Alola Holiday" while Kiawe and Pyroar joined them to perform their "Lion Flame Hoop" routine in conjunction to their dance.
"Those are some marvelous sights and sounds from the rest of our friends and honorary performers, demonstrating the best of Alola! And now, for our grand finale, featuring Richard, the Unova Movers, and Javi Garcia with a special music number, Harmony, Bernice, Billy, and Toril will give a special flying trapeze performance with the assistance of...Princess Sarah and the Eevee Squad!"
Finally, it was Billy, HarmonAs Richard sang, Billy and Harmony swung down with their partners on opposite ends with them smiling at each other, the newfound friendship and trust between the acrobats filling Toril and Bernice with nothing but happiness for them and each other. Swinging back on her trapeze, Toril joined Harmony as she held onto him while hanging on by her legs on the trapeze bar while Billy stood on his bar.y, Toril, and Bernice's time in the spotlight to wrap up the first show with their new finale and along with Javi, Richard, and the Unova Movers, Sarah and her Eeveelutions including her Shiny Eevee returned from backstage and with the Eevee Squad in Rarity's outfits.
With a signal from the princess to everyone involved in the finale, the Unova Movers and Javi (being on Lead Solo Guitar) began to play while Richard stepped forward to sing, a microphone at hand and Javi beside him.
(The Man on the Flying Trapeze - Mickey's Fun Songs/Disney Sing Along Songs: Let's Go to the Circus (1994) [Special Ver.])
"Here we go," Harmony breathed, seeing Bernice in Billy's arms and turning to Toril who was by her side, sharing a nod and knowing smiles with him.
Richard: What's that in the sky, near the top of the tent? The lights have gone dim, it's a major event! The ringmaster shouts, 'He is proud to present The Men on the Flying Trapeze!
As Richard sang, Billy and Harmony swung down with their partners on opposite ends with them smiling at each other, the newfound friendship and trust between the acrobats filling Toril and Bernice with nothing but happiness for them and each other. Swinging back on her trapeze, Toril joined Harmony as she held onto him while hanging on by her legs on the trapeze bar while Billy stood on his bar.
A spotlight goes 'round and a drum starts to roll, you can feel your heart quicken its beat And, just when it seems that you've lost all control, you look up from the edge of your seat
With expert timing, Billy and Harmony threw their partners in the air, the Jolteon and Flareon flipping before they unleashed Thunder Shock and Ember on the ropes of their trainers' trapeze swings as their human partners grabbed their respective Pokemon as the audience started cheering for them, "Toril/Bernice!"
They fly through the air with the greatest of ease, the daring young Men on the Flying Trapeze They graciously float as if part of the breeze, it's quite a spectacular sight
Then, Javi took center stage as he performed an extended instrumental solo before Richard's final vocals on the song as the spotlight shone down on him while Billy, Harmony, Toril, and Bernice swung back and forth with their fire and electricity creating a light shaped like a quarter of a piece around them. This was the signal for Sarah and the Eevee Squad to do their part for the finale.
"Okay! Eevee, everybody, it's...Showtime! Survey says, show me trapeze mastery!" Sarah smiled, raising her left hand as her Shiny Eevee happily scurried over to her open palm and used Copycat to mimic Ember and Thundershock while Umbreon and the rest of the Eevee Squad fired Shadow Ball.
The attacks converged in the air and exploded to create a shower of fireworks in red, yellow, and purple that got the crowd roaring with excitement with her friends in the audience cheering for all of them the loudest.
"Whoooooo! Yeah! Go, Javi!" howled an excited Izzy (Green Dino Fury Ranger) as she and the rest of the Dino Fury team and Solon cheered for her stepbrother/their Black Ranger.
"You can do it, Eevee!"
"Bring it home, guys!"
"Hoo-hoo! We're rooting for ya!"
"Yeah, uh... Go get 'em!"
"Go for it, guys!"
"Keep going, you're doing great!"
"Phenomenal, you guys!"
"Rock out on that trapeze and those efforts all the way!' the Beast Morphers team and their Beast Bots cheered.
All the while, along with the rest of their daughter/granddaughter/goddaughter's friends, Doug, Delilah, Donna (former queen), David, and Tsukumaro could only watch in proud silence as they watched Sarah and the Eevee Squad bedazzle everyone with the finale they agreed upon and practiced for the night prior.
Finally, the moment of truth had arrived and after Sarah and the Eevee Squad completed their part, it was time for Toril, Bernice, Billy, and Harmony to finish the job.
"Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Harmony, Billy, Toril, and Bernice!" Sarah screamed passionately, directing everyone to the quartet in question as they, Fire Team, and Electric Team prepared to unleash the end of the finale inspired by Bernice and Toril's efforts to work together.
As Javi reached the final notes of his instrumental solo, Harmony's Litleo, Torchic, and Darumaka along with Billy's Shinx, Elekid, and Helioptile saw the fireworks made and they added their own fireworks using Ember and Thundershock as Bernice, Harmony, Toril, and Billy wrapped things up with a few flips and twists they've worked on for the end as Richard sang one more time.
A single, a double, a three-quarter twist, their effortless gliding is not to be missed You need sturdy legs and a flexible wrist to soar on the flying trapeze
The applause that rang out was once again astounding as Billy and Harmony's Pokemon teams unleashed another series of fireworks along with the Eevee Squad to cap off what is a successful first show.
Roses were thrown to the group and ecstatic cheers and whistles rang out in the Big Top as the audience gave another standing ovation to the circus, this one being made in honor of not just everybody who made the first show possible but also to Bernice, Toril, Harmony, Billy, Richard, Javi, the Unova Movers, Sarah, and the Eevee Squad as they bowed to everyone. Toril and Bernice thanked everyone for attending the show by unleashing Ember and Thundershock one last time in a fireworks display, doing the same to Sarah and her Eevee Squad in gratitude for helping them to get Billy and Harmony to put their rivalry aside for the sake of the show and its finale.
As the performers including Ash, the Pokemon School Gang, and all their Pokemon backstage and the entire crowd for the opening show cheered on for the group, everyone agreed that the opening performance truly showed that the Showman's Pokemon Circus is indeed the next Greatest Show on Earth following the successful run of the Ringing Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
By the time the first show and ended, the heroes (all of them now holding flower bouquets) and the entire circus troupe were the only ones left at the Big Top in Honolulu with the gang's families hanging about to sing their praises and congratulate them for helping to put on a fantastic show.
"That was simply amazing! I've never seen a circus in all my life as entertaining and jaw-dropping as that!" Lusamine praised happily to Lillie despite her embarrassment of her babying her again. "Oh, Lillie, I'm so proud of you and Snowy for your first-ever performance!"
"Mother!" she groaned, much to everyone's amusement.
"Congratulations, Lillie. You really surprised us when you, Lana, Mallow, and your Pokemon all danced and sang out there along with your friends," Gladion smiled warmly, his Pokemon and Bones nodding in agreement as they praised her and Snowy, too.
"Thanks, Gladion. That really means a lot coming from you," Lillie smiled back, blushing.
"Javi, that was amazing."
"Yeah, you da man! Way to strum away on your guitar and keytar!"
"Yeah, it was totally cool."
"You were awesome, bro, that has to be your best performance yet! Dad is so gonna flip should he see the whole thing!" Zayto, Aiyon, Ollie, and Izzy (Green Ranger) congratulated, Javi smiling brightly as he held his bouquet as his stepsister proudly hugged him.
"That performance you, Richard, and the Unova Movers made in the opening and the finale are gonna go hot all over Buzzblast," Amelia added ecstatically.
"You were burning the house down with your music and everyone else's routines along with the opening and the finale, Javi! Good show," finished Solon, still feeling energized from the first show and everything it had offered.
"Thanks, you guys. I just can't believe it, I get to perform with Richard and the Unova Movers yesterday AND today with our performances in this very circus blowing everybody in the crowd including you guys away! It's almost like I'm living the dream, sure wish Dad could've seen it ever since I won that contest and made him realize that I can't be myself without my musical talent," Javi replied, his wide grin still on his face and feeling excited over everything.
"With how electrifying that performance was along with your collab with the Unova Movers, your dad's not gonna have any more reasons to complain about your music or anything else," Aiyon reassured proudly.
"If anything, I think you've made him very proud of you if he saw everything from Pine Ridge. It's like these military people of your world always say, 'go big or go home'. And, you went big all the way," Zayto agreed, smirking knowingly as Javi chuckled and the Dino Fury Rangers and Solon shared a group hug with him.
"Race, never in all my life had I've been so proud of you being a real showstopper."
"You were absolutely wonderful out there."
"You're truly a natural performer out on the rings, my boy," Scott, Agatha, and Tucker smiled at Race.
"You made being a ringmaster seem like a natural the way you were glowing under the spotlight along with the princess and all her Pokemon and dragons," Lucy proudly complemented.
"You got guts, little bro. Can't imagine anybody else besides you and your girl pulling off a dance and musical routine like that," smirked Greta, giving Race a congratulatory punch or two on his right shoulder.
"You were truly one with everybody else and so calm while you were performing, I've never seen you so happy and at peace with yourself since you've finally won the Battle Frontier," Spencer added warmly.
"Way to blow the crowd away, kiddo!" Noland smirked, giving Race a congratulatory head noogie.
But, Brandon was the proudest of the Frontier Brains as he joined his son and said, "Race, I've always known you to be a special boy after I took you in and allowed you to go on a Pokemon journey before you won the Hoenn League and the Battle Frontier. But, you've proven that you're a true man in your own right by performing on stage with the ones you love and finding your place with her and everyone else that you loved. You took a real risk and your performed in flying colors, I'm so proud of you..."
Race smiled as he held his crimson rose bouquet and he and Brandon shared a father-son embrace as he said, "Thanks, Dad, guys..."
"Yay, Lana/Again, again, again!" Little Sarah and Harper chirped happily, still feeling the rush of the first show much to Lana's slight annoyance while her mother just shrugged humourously.
"Wow, Kiawe, you and Pyroar were great!"
"Kiawe, my boy, that was quite a show you and your friends along with the circus troupe put up for everyone!"
"I'm so proud of you, son!" Mimo and their parents praised Kiawe, the Fire Type student hugging Mimo as he held his bouquet and feeling happy that they enjoyed the show as much as he and the others did.
"I'm really glad you all liked it," he smiled warmly in response, Pyroar nodding in agreement as he smiled, too.
"Still stealing the show as always, we're proud of ya, son," Sophocles' father smiled proudly along with his wife who was crying happily for him.
"Thanks, Dad, Mom. I'm sure glad you both came to see all of us perform," Sophocles replied, sharing a happy smile with them as he held his yellow tulip bouquet.
"You always know how to surprise us with anything and everything and the same goes to Shaymin, Mallow," Abe concurred proudly.
"Thanks a lot, Dad," Mallow smiled while holding her bouquet with her Shaymin giving a happy "Yay!".
"Baby, that was the best show you and your friends have ever put up for us," Delilah praised happily as she hugged her daughter.
"You've gone above and beyond with everything you and your family did for the show and it was remarkable how you and your Eevee Squad were able to put together that splendid routine with your new friends," Doug agreed, looking at Sarah with proud eyes.
"Hey!"
"Oh, come on! We helped, too!" Altaria and Frosmoth pouted albiet playfully as they fluttered over to them while joined by the rest of your family.
"Hmm-hmm, you too," chuckled David as he petted both evolved Pokemon by their heads.
"I will admit, you threw all of us in for a loophole with their evolutions. You never told us Swablu and Snom were due to evolve at this time," Nikki admitted.
"*We had a feeling these two would evolve sooner or later, especially given that the princess had them in the family for two months since they joined us from our jungle escapades with Koko and DaDa Zarude and even the Jungle Guard,*" Virizion chuckled.
"You never cease to amaze us with how much you surprise us, Ponchita," James replied with a chuckle.
"I bet there will be tons of people talking about this show and the show itself making the front page for weeks with what you've delivered, Sis," Asha smirked, giving Sarah a playful nudge.
Altaria then landed near Ziracon and gave a sweet smile to the shy male Altaria, the latter blushing upon seeing his happy and cheerful female counterpart while Beautifly happily cooed and cheered as she fluttered around Frosmoth, the Hoenn Butterfly Pokemon delighted to have another Bug Type like him to be with as Dawn (Lycanroc) and Seviper smiled in amusement at her while seeing their friend have a new companion in the Frost Moth Pokemon.
"Well, be honest, you guys. How do we look?" Frosmoth inquired to his friends, showing how his evolved form as they joined him and Beautifly.
"You're both growing up faster than we thought, more so than the rest of us," Skiddo sighed, giving a bittersweet smile to his Ice Type friend and looked between him and the female Humming Pokemon.
"We couldn't be happier for you two," Buneary agreed warmly despite feeling disappointed in her heart that they're no longer a Snom and a Swablu.
"Man, I wanna evolve next!"
"Me, next!"
"No, me!" Fennekin, Cyndaquil, and Phanpy cooed excitedly, only to get a chuckle from Sarah as she knelt down and started rubbing them.
"Sorry, you guys, but this is not your time to evolve yet. Altaria and Frosmoth were lucky enough to get to this point after all that training and the care the rest of my family and I gave them and the fact that we've incorporated their evolution to be part of the opening before then. Whenever you guys would evolve would depend on a variety of circumstances and the fact that you'll need to be older and bigger to do so," the princess replied gently.
"Why do we always have to wait for everything 'til we're bigger?!" grumbled Fennekin with a pout and an agitated stomp of her front right paw with Cyndaquil and Phanpy sharing her sentiments as they gave a disappointed pout, much to the amusement of everyone gathered.
"Now, that was truly a grand Thunderbolt of a performance, especially for a Pokemon Circus!"
"You all were wonderful!" Kukui and Burnet praised heartily.
Even Hiccup, his friends, Stoick, Gobber, their dragons, the Eight Queens, Thorn's children, Cyrus, and Marena along with the Equestria ponies couldn't believe what they just went through, remembering the cheers and the crowd applauding immensely for their group's opening performance in the show.
"Looks like we won everyone over, especially with my and Hookfang's smooth moves!"
"Isn't it great that all those people and their Pokemon with the others in the crowd saw us being a hit?" Snotlout and Fishlegs smiled brightly.
"And, the way Pipp and Rarity managed to incorporate us into the performance like that, what a rush!" laughed Astrid happily while Tuffnut Ruffnut, Barf, and Belch ate away at some popcorn buckets.
"I can't believe it worked!" Hiccup commented, still feeling excited.
"The more creative you get, the more gorgeous a performance like that gets! And, the results earlier showed!" Rarity laughed gleefully.
"You guys were amazing performing out there!"
"Yeah, for your first circus performance, you all and the dragons seemed like naturals!"
"Great job, you guys," Ash, Sophocles, and Edge Blade congratulated as the Three Fillies and the Dragonets babbled and chirped in agreement as they shared the trio's happy sentiments.
"Honestly, that was the best! I absolutely loved every minute of it!"
"It was fabuloso!"
"Can we do that again?" Stormfly, Meatlugs, and Stryka commented eagerly.
"That was simply marvelous," grinned Blaze.
"See, Zipp? I told you it wasn't too bad, Mom and everybody else back home are gonna flip when they see this thanks to Izzy! Ha-HA!" Pipp cheered, wondering about the reviews and the comments she'll get from her fans as Zipp thought back to the performance.
"Well...I guess, you do have a point. It, was kind of fun, really," the older Pegasus admitted.
"Yeah, I didn't even know I had it in me," agreed Hitch, feeling surprised with himself as his animal companions offered their own congratulations to him.
"See, I told ya'll ya had nothing to worry about," smiled Applejack to the pair.
"I gotta say, Sunny. You're not too shabby shredding those skates of yours, you're almost as fast as me when you're on them. For an Earth Pony/Alicorn, you did okay," commented an impressed Rainbow Dash to Sunny.
"Thanks. Well, mainly, I got my speed from being inspired by you. I did grow up hearing about your stories from my dad and he taught me how to skate when I was only a filly, after all," replied Sunny modestly just as Toril, Bernice, Billy, and Harmony (all of them still reeling and ecstatic from how well the show and the new finale went).
"Hey, guys. How'd everything go with the fans, did they like what you did with the finale with us, Richard, Javi, and the Unova Movers?" Sarah greeted the quartet.
"Did they ever! They couldn't get enough of it when they came over to see us at the Meet-n-Greet, thanks to you guys, the show was a tremendous success!" Billy smiled brightly.
"And, awesomely fun!" put in Ash.
"Thanks so much for allowing us all to perform in the circus today!" Sophocles concurred.
"Yes, thank you!" smiled Lillie.
"Yeah, thank you!"
"Thank you so much!" said Pikachu and Togedemaru.
"Sarah, guys, we're so sorry to drag you in so suddenly for our finale following our little roadblock. But, we really needed your help to end things off with a bang after we finished working on the finale Bernice and Toril inspired us to make," Harmony smiled sheepishly to the princess.
"Hey, don't worry about it. I was happy to help you, you obviously had something big planned after your partners inspired you and you realized you couldn't do it alone even with additional help from Javi, Richard, and the Unova Movers, anyway. Besides, I think my Eevee Squad got a real kick out of it and you two, Bernice, and Toril learned a lot from them."
"Yeah!"
"It's been fun, dudes-bzt!"
"And, a real blast!" Sarah's Shiny Eevee, Manteon, and Flareon and Jolteon agreed.
"We want to give you something as a token of our gratitude and for your help in dealing and putting up with our rivalry," Billy mentioned, he and Harmony giving her their spare Thunder Stone and Fire Stone.
"Your Thunder Stone..."
"And, your Fire Stone...,," Sophocles and Lana breathed, bewildered by Billy and Harmony's gesture of kindness.
"Billy, Harmony, those are the only spare stones you have on you and tried to use on your partners following their evolution mix-up," Hiccup gasped in surprise.
"Yeah, won't you need those if you're going to have another Pokemon on you to evolve let alone someone in your teams?" Zenna inqired, stumped over their decision to hand the stones over to the little princess.
"We've decided to move on with our performances by using Fire and Electricity together and if anything, thanks to Sarah, the Eevee Squad, Toril, and Bernice, we've learned to put our differences and our rivalry aside for the sake of the show and not get everything bogged down by our old status quo again as we had done prior," Billy smiled reassuringly.
"We owe them a lot for making the finale happen so it only seemed natural for us to pass those stones down to her. Whichever stone you'll like to use on your Eevee or any of your Pokemon should they eventually choose to evolve, we're sure you won't go wrong with either of them," Harmony agreed warmly to Sarah.
"But, you do realize that Sarah's Eevee has an Everstone on her, right?" Mallow recalled.
"True but what about Blitz and Curly? Don't they deserve a chance to decide whether or not to evolve by a Thunder Stone or any of her Fire Type Pokemon that haven't evolved yet should they to eventually do so?" Kiawe reminded.
"Oh, right... Sorry, I forgot," Mallow chuckled sheepishly.
"Whenever that happens, I'm sure one of your Pokemon will evolve into an Electric Type like Jolteon and Bernice. I had no idea how cool Electric Types really are!" Harmony smiled.
"Yep! That's right!" Bernice agreed.
"My vote would be for a Fire Type like Flareon such as Toril. Fire Type Pokemon really turn up the heat," agreed Billy, now seeing Fire Types in a whole new light as he and Toril looked at each other.
"Can't deny that," Toril concurred.
"Whoa, really?"
"You guys mean that?"
"You're no longer stuck on your normal Pokemon status quo?" Lana, Mallow, and Lillie breathed, surprised over Billy and Harmony's new viewpoints on Electric Types and Fire Types.
"You surprised?"
"Thanks to all of you, we've now gained a much wider and truer perspective," the two acrobats replied, allowing Sarah to smile and accept their stones as she took them in her hands.
"Wow, I wonder if Eevee will eventually evolve into a Flareon or Jolteon, too," Ash breathed eagerly.
"It'll be fun to see, especially since you'll eventually get another Eevee for those stones or have either Blitz or Curly become an Alolan Raichu," Sophocles agreed.
"Thanks, Harmony, Billy. Whenever any of my Pokemon decides to evolve through your stones, I'll let you guys and Toril and Bernice know right away," she promised.
"Yeah, yeah, that's great and all. But, still... Can we PLEASE ditch these stupid costumes, now?!" snapped Jolteon, still wearing her costume while blushing in embarrassment.
"She's right, Princess. I'm not sure how much more of this we can take," whimpered Zeraora, making everybody laugh at the pair while Sarah nodded and knelt down to her two Pikachu and Eevee.
"Eevee, Blitz, Curly, no matter what happens and should either of you eventually choose to evolve, let's promise one thing... We'll always be together, together forever no matter how long."
"Yeah!"
"Together forever!"
"Always!" the three aforementioned Pokemon cheered as they jumped into Sarah's arms and hugged her.
After seeing a different way for a bond to form between Pokemon and Trainers, Sarah and her family begin to wonder about their future as the journey continues...
[Epilogue]
Dusk had fallen and Alola was well into the evening with everybody back at Aulani for a breather the following Sunday before they would leave for Sinnoh on Monday for the Hisui Festival. While everybody else was fast asleep in their rooms, Sarah and her family along with Reader were back in their hotel suite as the young Night Lights were playing aroud with her, the NightWing Seer being small enough to fit inside the suite itself.
"So, you're going to this Hisui Festival thing this Monday, huh?" Reader inquired, looking at the poster given to them by Kukui.
"Yep, that's it!" Sho replied, feeling giddy as he couldn't hold back his excitement and danced on his paws.
"It's been so long... Everything we've once known in our time is gone but even then, some things never change as we can tell from what the poster is telling all of us," Arrietty added, feeling just as ecstatic as her son was but keeping her excitement and sentimentality under control.
"I'm sure you're gonna give everyone at Sinnoh the shock of their lives when you enter the festival with us and they see you before realizing you're the real deal," Doug chuckled knowingly.
"Your species have gained quite the reputation in Sinnoh and Hisui folklore by the looks of it before everybody gained a greater respect for your species in your old type," Delilah added.
Arrietty gave a soft frown as she did have a small reservation or two about how the people attending the festival would react to her and Sho, "Yes... Let's hope they understand how and why the sins of humanity made our species like this back then and if things would be peaceful now and then..."
Despite everyone's hopes for a moment's peace upon their arrival to the Hisui festival the day after, they would be dashed once again when Reader started to feel a great pain in her heart and she gave a sharp gasp that drew their attention, her eyes glowing white as a vision came into play in her mind with a haunting prophecy to boot.
A Threat once gone shall return
Dangerous Ambition turns into ignition
Something is coming to scorch the earth
The natural world will be baked in fire and ash and burn
Unless a piece of the Original One is returned
When two deities clash
Time and Space shall change
The balance will fall
Unless two worlds combine to fix it all
The vision that came with the prophecy showed Reader what the percieved looming threat on the day of the Hisui Festival could be which are a bunch of silhouetted people planning to do a dastardly deed for who knows what they have in mind coupled with a Legendary Pokemon called a Heatran trapped within a titan-like creature made out of molten lava as it prepared to ravage the world starting from its birthplace where it was captured, a beam being fired from the peaks of Sinnoh's most famous mountain area, Mt. Coronet, Uxie, Mesperit, and Azelf preparing to fight against the creature Heatran is trapped within, and the appearance of the Alpha Pokemon and the creator of Sinnoh's Creation Trio and Lake Guardians, Arceus.
The vision came to an abrupt end as Arceus fired Judgement at the creature and at a nearby helicoptor with one of the rays hitting Reader and knocking her back, throwing her out of the dreamscape she was in with a yelp, much to everyone else's bewilderment.
"Reader/Reader/Reader!" everybody cried in alarm as they checked on her.
"Is that how her enhanced prophetic powers work?" Keldeo asked. "Yes, and what she just saw must've been something terrible," Virizion noted gravely.
"...ARCEUS!" Reader breathed with a panicked gasp as she picked herself up.
"Arceus... Wait, Arceus?! The Alpha Pokemon himself?"
"No way!"
"Father?!"
"O-Our c-c-c-creator?"
"You saw him, Reader?" Doug, Delilah, and the Lake Guardians gasped in shock.
"I don't know if he's real or not but the vision I had that came with the prophecy pertains to a threat everybody thought was long gone by now..."
"A threat long gone... Not Team Eclipse!"
"Lothor's back?!"
"But, that's impossible! We destroyed Lothor and his cronies and we still kept Mousey, Hakins, and Wolf prisoner after their crew's final moments!" Mai, Craggeon, and Venom shouted in total disbelief.
"It's not them...! I saw a different group of people in the vision along with a magma monster, I couldn't see what they're like in the vision but I thought I saw something that looked like a 'G' on what they're wearing. Those people, they probably have something worse in mind compared to what your old enemies had been doing. I don't know what but they sound trouble..."
"That means something big and wicked this way comes, something that could threaten the earth again since it could be more dangerous than Lothor or even Evox from what you described," Star concurred worriedly.
"Unfortunately, what you're saying and seeing from your vision is cryptic at best. What I'm more concerned about is Arceus, especially since the prophecy you mentioned said, 'Unless a piece of the Original One is returned'. What does the prophecy mean by a piece of Arceus and what needs to be returned to him?" Cobalion replied, narrowing his eyes thoughtfully as he recounted a snippet of the prophecy involving Arceus.
"If we're going to solve that mystery, we first need to figure out where the disaster would be taking place at according to Reader's vision," Tsukumaro said, knowing where they should start first regarding the new mystery and threat in their hands.
The Lake Guardians nodded in agreement as Azelf turned to Reader and inquired, "Reader, tell us. The vision you saw, where was it taking place exactly."
Reader breathed as she recalled what she saw and guessed where it was all happening, "The vision's a little hazy but from what I can tell, it all started at a mountain in Sinnoh beyond the outskirts of where the Hisui Festival would take place..."
"Sinnoh?!" the younger Jungle Pokemon gasped in shock.
