Chapter 8: Llamas With Hats II

Arcanus appeared before them in a flash of light. "Alright everyone, for this next viewing we'll be going back to a universe you have previously seen before." He said. The audience wondered which universe they would see again. Ruby was hoping to see that Blue Beetle one as she was interested in what else the scarab could do.

"Which one is it?" Ren asked. However, for some reason he had this foreboding feeling crawling up his spine. That got worse when Arcanus unexpectedly chuckled darkly, which creeped everybody out.

"Oh, you'll see Ren. You'll see."

The screen lit up to a familiar pair of Jaune and Ren variants. Variants that caused Ren to groan out loudly as he leaned his head into his hands.

His parents looked at their son in concern.

"Are you okay, Lie?" An asked.

Nora then interjected. "I think it's better that you see for yourself."

Li and An looked at one another before turning to the screen.

The audience that was here from the beginning frowned a bit. This was the Jaune Arc variant they were hoping they would not see again. They could do without witnessing the atrocities that this Jaune has committed.

Meanwhile, Weiss was still frozen.

~

Jaune and Ren are currently standing in the hallway of their house. Mud tracks leading to Jaune's feet.

"Jaune you've tracked mud all over the carpet." Ren whined.

~

"Huh, this seems pretty tame." Yang said.

"Wait for it, I'm sure that this is just the build up to something horrifying." Blake said, crossing her arms. Her instincts told her that this Jaune had done something horrible. She knew that was going to be shown later, but at the same time she hoped nothing would happen. But that was wishful thinking.

"Well when you put it that way, I don't blame you." Yang replied.

Ren, meanwhile, was rubbing his head in order to soothe the headache that was about to come.

~

"Now that right there is a mess." Jaune plainly said

"I just had it cleaned yesterday, Jaune!" Ren complained, his hard work now ruined.

"I'm not responsible for this! I've been jamming on the saxophone all morning!" Jaune defended himself.

~

"Oh for Oum sake's! Stop lying!" Ren shouted. This caused everyone who knew him to jump back in surprise and shock. No more so than his parents.

"Lie!" An lightly scolded her son. Though she was worried as to why her son would act like that.

Li frowned, as he too was worried as to why his son acted like that. He then looked at the screen, observing the interactions between the alternate versions of his son and Jaune. He also took into account the conversations those two girls had earlier.

Li then came to the conclusion that the version of Jaune Arc was dangerous and his alternate son was dragged into whatever Llama Jaune had planned.

~

"Those are clearly your footprints Jaune!" Ren pointed out.

"Then there is an impostor on the loose!" Jaune exclaimed.

~

"Really?" Ren deadpanned. His brow twitched a little.

~

"They lead directly to you!" Ren pointed out angrily.

"Clue number one the impostor is a phantom." Jaune said, in a thinking pose.

~

Ren pinched his nose in annoyance. Why, why did Arcanus have to show him this world?! He swears that this Jaune is worse than Nora. Not that he'll admit it out loud. He'd liked living after all.

Meanwhile Nora's brow twitched, she felt as if someone was talking about her.

~

"Jaune, stop avoid-" Ren started but was cut off by a loud noise.

*BOOM*

A loud explosion was heard outside their home. Shortly after the walls and roof of their house were blown away as the city behind was in ruins.

~

Everyone was in total shock about what just happened. That shock soon turned into horror as they saw the fiery inferno that was once Vale.

"Oh my Oum!" Everyone yelled out.

"JAUNE!" Ren wailed out in terror.

~

"JAUNE!" Ren yelled in horror.

"Happy birthday." Jaune exclaimed with his arms in the air in a 'Ta-Da' motion.

~

No one said anything as they were still processing what they saw. All except for Ren, who was freaking out.

"Wh-but…uh..wha? Why?!" He blurted out incoherently.

~

"It's not...please tell me you had nothing to do with this?!" Ren begged.

"Why don't you blow out your candle?" Jaune said.

~

Ren yelled as he gripped his hair hard.

Arcanus, meanwhile, was trying his best to not bust his gut out laughing. Creator above it was so fun to see these kinds of reactions from people.

~

"You've gone too far this time, Jaune." Ren stated.

"What's that?? It's hard to hear you over the sound of a melting city." Jaune said as he leaned closer to Ren. His right hand cupped his right ear.

~

"Argh!" Ren groaned out.

~

"How did you even do this?!" Ren asked, wanting to know how the blonde managed to cause this much damage.

~

"Yes, how?!" Ren asked angrily.

~

"A dollop of fairy dust." Jaune said nonchalantly.

"Jaune." Ren said sternly.

"I ripped a tag off of a mattress." Jaune said seriously.

"This isn't funny Jaune!" Ren yelled.

"Who's laughing? Clearly not all the people who just exploded." Jaune pointed out.

"I'm leaving...I've had enough of this" Ren said.

"But think of the perfectly roasted faces we get to munch on now!" Jaune said excitedly

"But why?!" Ren asked.

"Because we're friends, and friendship is two pals munching on a well-cooked face together." Jaune said.

~

Ren got up from his seat and shouted. "That isn't friendship, Jaune! That's sick!"

This caused everyone to scoot away from the boy. All of them made a mental agreement to not say anything for the rest of the viewing.

~

"That isn't friendship, Jaune, that's sick!" Ren chastised.

"Well then you're probably not going to like your birthday decorations." Jaune said.

"It's not even my…" Ren said only to stop when he sees something floating down towards him and Jaune. Balloons with faces tied on by the string start to float down.

~

Upon seeing the sight that befell them, most of the audience promptly either fainted or turned around and threw up.

~

"Oh my gosh." Ren said horrified by what he just saw.

"Surprise!" Jaune exclaimed.

"Ah oh uh no ah uh!" Ren had nothing to say as he was disgusted by the floating faces.

"I'm sorry. I thought you liked faces. Obviously, there was a miscommunication." Jaune shrugged.

"This is awful Jaune." Ren said.

"You're right. It's not nearly as tasteful as I pictured it in my head." Jaune said, disappointed.

~

Ren suddenly felt bile build up in his throat. He leaned to his side and threw up.

Arcanus let out a sigh as he snapped his fingers. Just like that all of the vomit has been wiped clean.

~

"I think I'm going to throw...oh Oum one touched me!" Ren said as a floating face brushed by him.

"This was clearly the wrong way to go." Jaune said.

~

"Ya think?!" Ren shouted.

~

"Ya think Jaune?!" Ren yelled.

"What can I say? I expected them to be cooked more. Raw face is just gross." Jaune said a bit disgusted by the raw faces.

"But that isn't the problem, Jaune! Why would you think any of this was a good idea?!" Ren angrily asked.

~

"Exactly, why on Remnant did that version of Jaune think that any of this was a good idea?!" Ren shouted, agreeing with his counterpart.

~

"Probably because I'm a dangerous sociopath with a long history of violence." Jaune stated.

~

There was a pregnant pause, no one said a single word. That silence was broken when Ren spoke up.

"Oh."

~

"Oh…" Ren simply said.

"I don't understand how you keep forgetting that." Jaune deadpanned.

~

The screen turned to black.

Ren let out a sigh of relief as he no longer had to see this world anymore.

The rest of the audience did the same as they no longer had to see the horrors that this Jaune commits.

Meanwhile, Weiss is still frozen.
