Dark, barren, abandoned, quiet, unsettling... One can't even begin to describe the bleakness of such a place in its darkest hour but that was certainly the case with Poipole's home dimension of Ultra Space. In it, the once lush green environment of her homeland was now replaced by a blackened barren wasteland lacking Necrozma's light to bring forth life. In the middle of what looked like a deep canyon in the blackness of it all, there was a large dark crystal that looked as though it was untouched for years, generations even...Until something broke out of it, revealing itself to be Necrozma in its Black Beast Form.
Compared to its Ultra Form (since it's more commonly known as The Blinding One in that peculiar form according to the illustration from the book Acerola showed Sarah and Ash one time), its Black Beast Form is made clear from its vaguely humanoid appearance with a body supposedly made out of a black crystalline material created by the impurities building up from within it as a result of its deep 500+ year slumber. A large protrusion attached to its head is actually its tail, having a row of three spikes along the top and is white at the back while only having a dark gray symbol showing a star in the center. Its prism-like face, known as the Brain Prism, possesses a collection of multicolored shapes resembling its eyes and turns white while absorbing light. Its arms were thin and they each had disproportionately large hands with three claws attached while a white crystal darkening towards the tip jutted out of its hands and a hook-like spike was sported from each elbow. To top it all off, two large spikes also jutted out from each of its shoulders with a row of smaller spikes along each side of its body, and its feet each had three hook-like toes as well.
"I...need...LIGHT!" the Black Beast roared before it noticed an Ultra Wormhole opening and saw Nebby's creators, Solgaleo and Lunala, flying before it charged straight at them.
Meanwhile, back in Alola in their cave at Akala Island, the two Ultra Recon Squad members: Dulse and Zossie, have received a call from their squad leader regarding Necrozma. The two of them have managed to reconstruct their team's campsite and ever since the first sightings of the Ultra Pillars, they've kept themselves on the lowdown so as not to arouse suspicion from the region's people but also to monitor what those sightings could allude to (their leader and fellow member deciding to return to Ultra Space to give themselves an edge in tracking the bigger results of those sightings).
The two members were concerned because if the call they were getting from their portable supercomputer pertained to Necrozma, they knew something big must be going down in Ultra Space, something so greatly concerning that would prompt their leader and their squad's second-in-command to immediately get their attention.
"Dulse and Zossie here, Phyco. What's happening on the homefront?" Zossie called as their leader, Phyco, appeared on the monitor and looked grave.
"Dulse, Zossie, I've terrible news. The time has come; Necrozma has awakened and is beginning to make its mark in Ultra Space," Phyco informed, causing the pair to gasp quietly and with deep worry.
"How's it looking back home?" Dulse questioned, looking concerned.
"We're doing fine, for now. But, Necrozma will soon be at large; Solgaleo and Lunala were last seen in the canyon where the Black Beast was once imprisoned before it went on the attack. We'll see what we can do but it's imperative that Necrozma's rage is soothed and The Blinding One is brought back to its rightful place. As we've discussed before, our last line of defense will be the princess herself. Maintain constant vigilance and hope that she and the rest of the Power Rangers Ultra Rescue can save us all before it's too late."
"Take it easy, big guy," Zossie agreed as the call ended. "Well, Bro, it's time. We need the princess, now more than ever."
"Yes, this is our last chance and we have to take it. We must do everything we can to right the wrongs our ancestors made at any cost," Dulse agreed, looking out at the cave opening and having a bad feeling that there will be a terrible fight that will truly determine Alola's true fate.
Two weeks had passed since the heroes' Sinnoh escapades as, on that note, their staycation at Aulani officially came to an end.
All of the missing Pokemon from their world had been brought back and Officer Jenny, Commander Ryan, and Angel were told everything that went down in Alternate Sinnoh. The three of them were surprised and shocked by what they had been told regarding the case but they were relieved to know that it was all over and their world as well as Alternate Sinnoh and those living in it are safe from harm.
The rest of the staycation flew by with nothing crazy to dampen their spirits and when it was time for them to leave, the heroes and all their friends joining them parted ways to live out their normal lives once more. The Jungle Fury Rangers returned to Ocean Bluff while continuing to divide time between their normal lives and their duties to the Pai Zhuq; Devon and his friends and their Pokemon made their way back to Coral Harbor to try to finish their ongoing fight against Evox; and Zayto, Solon, and the rest of the Dino Fury Team returned to Pine Ridge with the addition of Willow, Sally, and Flint to continue their own fight against the Sporix, Void Queen, Slyther, Mucus, and Void King.
The Vikings and their Pokemon made their way back to Berk along with their dragons and Pokemon to resume their normal lives with the Eight Queens, Qibli, Blaze, Smolder, Marena, Stormcloud, and the Six Spirits joining them for a return trip to Dragonstone. The Teen Titans went back to Jump City and the Mane 5, Mane 6, Celestia, Luna, Cadence, and Discord went back to Equestria while Johnathan, Diane, Romeo, and Juliet departed for their home in Kanto.
As for Bumpy and her family along with Angel, Rebel, Topsy, Billy, Rexy, Blue, Panthera, their siblings, Ripper, Zalkia, Fang, Firestar, and Bluestar, they joined the Eight Queens, Marena, and the other dragons with them for their return trip to Dragonstone along with Isla Sona, living out their lives in blissful peace once more.
During that time, the new addition to Sarah's family, the baby Equestria Dragon: Pearl Petunia Crystal, finally hatched from her egg; looking identical to Sparky in terms of looks, she instead was lilac and had a light-pink underbelly and her four horns (in a backward curl) had swirls on them, her two lower horns having a dark-purple shading on the edges. Her ears were long and low and they were dark purple in the ear cavities and her wing membranes shared the same color while she had dark purple spikes running along back.
Their time with Race now over, Brandon and the rest of the Frontier Brains and Scott left Alola after sending him their love and best regards to tend to the Battle Frontier once more and meet the challenges that had been offered to them by trainers that challenged the Battle Frontier while they were gone.
The Draconequus Hybrids that were brought to her world made themselves at home as well; the first one created by the Mane 5: Mint Burn, chose to live with Race and his family in Iki Town but the other hybrids-Gleaming Aurora (Gleam, for short) and Jupiter-opted to live with Sarah and her family instead.
They were already settling in well as they proved to be a real help to the former Battle Frontier Champion and the little princess in caring for and feeding their growing families, especially when crafting new meals for them to eat should they want something different from their home kitchen menus for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. For a short while, as was the case with the Ultra Rescue Rangers and their friends as well as Sarah and her family, everything seemed peaceful but once again, that was about to change.
It was now May 2nd in the middle of Spring on a blissful Sunday evening with everybody bunked down on their beds for the night for a new day including the little princess herself. But, as she was sleeping peacefully in reality, in her dreamscape inside the dream world, Sarah found herself in the same area where she and her family first met Zekrom but there was no lightning signaling his presence which meant, for the time being, she was alone.
"Okay, this is weird, even by ranger or royalty standards," Sarah quipped as she looked around before she was greeted by her Albinism NightWing advisor from behind her.
"Reader!" she cried, rushing over to Reader. "What are you doing here?"
"Duh, have you already forgotten? I am your advisor for a reason, you know; I have ways of getting to you for something important," Reader retorted, showing her superior and royal charge what looked like a star-shaped sapphire that glowed with an eerie blue (non-blinding) light.
"Nice... Okay, moving on, why are you here, anyway?"
"I had another vision but this one involved Poipole's old home and her friends. You know that Black Beast you told us about months ago, Necrozma?"
Sarah thought back for a moment before her eyes widened in shock as she recalled everything she had learned about the former Blinding One and remembered why Poipole initially came to her world and dimension in the first place, "...He's coming?"
Reader nodded grimly as she continued, "The Black Beast is coming and it'll be up to you to restore it to its original form and save Poipole's world from total destruction. The darkness has overtaken it; if you all don't act now, all will be lost. Your friends and our family and even you will be gone if Necrozma's rampage isn't stopped and his rage unquelled. The salvation of everyone and both your world and Ultra Space depends entirely on you..."
Reader's warning echoed in Sarah's mind before she was greeted by a blinding white light overtaking her.

Pokemon Sun & Moon - The Warrior Princess
Morning came and Sarah suddenly shot up in a cold sweat, wide away before she breathed deeply and calmed herself down as her heart raced a mile every second as she played the entire dream with Reader in her mind.
"Necrozma... Is it true it's coming back just as she said, but when will that be? Or better yet, how is it possible? Why do I feel so uneasy?" she thought, looking out her bedroom window and seeing the dawn breaking which singled the beginning of Monday, May 3rd.
After washing up and getting changed so as to get ready for school again, the little princess went to the Pokemon Dragon Heart Dome to feed her family. With Gleam's assistance in preparing breakfast, as they brought their family's most important meal for the day, she found Maximus, Bronty, Gigas, and Armatus in their Chibi Forms, already playing and formally hitting it off with Chomp, Munch, Nessie, Guru, Swift, Meg, Paris, Fuki, Mia, Terry, Arcane, Hanna, and Quake (all of whom are already in their own Chibi Forms).
In Maximus, Armatus, and Gigas' case, they looked identical to Chomp, Quake, and Terry in their Chibi forms save for their colors and the small red hexagon-shaped jewels centered on their foreheads and front shoulders. Needless to say, they and Bronty were hitting it off with their new family perfectly in their new lives just as Sarah and Race promised them.
"Breakfast, everybody! Come and get it!" Sarah screamed, her family hearing her and immediately crowding around her (save for Eterantus as he remained in his regular spot in the Grasslands Habitat) and Gleam as they passed around food bowls to everyone, Pokemon, creature, dinosaur, and dragon alike.
Once that was done, they went to the dining room to eat their own breakfast with Sarah's human family, all of whom were already at the table with Race, their Pokemon, the Cat Pack, the Dragonstone Patrol, and Petunia with Jupiter and Mint serving everybody after preparing breakfast for them just as the pair arrived.
As she made her way to the table, she noticed Petunia being fed applesauce by Axew and Deerling via a spoon but she happily cooed and gave an innocent giggle as she breathed a tiny puff of her own Dragon Fire and turned the applesauce and spoon into two carrots that she eagerly gobbled down. Axew and Deerling were baffled but they eventually shrugged from the strange yet healthy choice of food she decided to go for, taking up another spoon and another pack of applesauce to try and feed her again.
Edge and the Mane 5 were informed about Petunia's Dragon Fire having the same abilities that Sparky's Dragon Fire had and they were impressed once they were updated on her condition. But, they also expressed their concern about Opaline targeting her for her fire as well so she was given a gift known as the Necklace of Security, a gold Spider-Style necklace enchanted with Animus magic and had a Moonstone pendant attached to it so as to keep her hidden away from Opaline whenever they would visit Equestria.
"Morning," Sarah called as Gleam joined her sisters to help them serve.
"Morning, Honey/Ponchita," smiled Nikki and James.
"Sweetie/ Lil' Britches," greeted Diane and Johnathan who returned along with Romeo and Juliet (both having their own breakfast at the dome) to attend a special Alolan event called the Manalo Festival.
"Princess," Tsukumaro nodded with a smile as they began to eat once they have their dishes served and Sarah sat next to her real parents with Race to her right.
"Mama," Petunia babbled happily, seeing her human parents together as she reached out her arms to Sarah and Race. "Dada..."
Sarah smiled once she saw Petunia and she took her in her arms just as she was served her breakfast and soon after, they were greeted by Hiccup, Zenna, their friends, and their Pokemon and dragons (Stoick, Gobber, Edgar, Henna, and their own Partner Pokemon deciding to stay in Berk so as to keep an eye on everyone there and allow the teens to have fun on their own).
"Hey, Sarah, finally out of bed?" Hiccup smiled as they (along with Perseus and Turmoil) joined everybody for breakfast (all of them primed and ready to attend the Manalo Festival later).
"Yep, and thankfully, I don't have an alarm clock on me this time. Hey, how are Gobber and your dad doing?" Sarah asked Hiccup as she ate some bacon, pancakes, and eggs sunny side up.
"They're fine and so are Edgar and Henna; preferred to stay at home this time, though. Didn't want to come with us since they wanted to watch over everyone back at Berk but they're learning how to care for their own Partner Pokemon through Marena."
"I get it. You ready to go later?"
"Where are you all heading?" Delilah asked, surprised about their leaving after breakfast.
"Sarah planned a field trip around Alola for Hiccup and the others a few days ago; the Manalo Festival is coming and a solar eclipse is due when it begins so they want to know more about your home region until then. And, the best part, we're going to be in charge of them!" Perseus explained.
"Oh, of course! The Manalo Festival; the time when a solar eclipse would appear every 21 years and we all gather along with our respective Island Kahunas at the Ruins of Life, the Ruins of Conflict, the Ruins of Hope, and the Ruins of Abundance to offer our prayers to the Blinding One who was responsible for the creation of our home," Donna (former queen) smiled in realization.
"Sounds like you're cooking up a scheduling storm leading up to the big event, are you, pumpkin?" David chuckled.
"That makes sense since they've recently gotten Partner Pokemon of their own during the incident with Team Galactic's brief return and the Heatran Titan," Tsukumaro smiled as he watched the Vikings' Pokemon happily mingling with his, David, Donna (former queen), James, Nikki, Doug, and Delilah's Pokemon. "This trip could do them wonders and help them learn the basics on how to care for Pokemon and what it takes to be a Pokemon Trainer."
After breakfast, Sarah, Race, and the Viking Teens went to the Pokemon School with their Pokemon, dragons, and her family for the former to begin her lessons for the day, walking into the classroom to find Sophocles at his desk as he was the first one to arrive. But, to their surprise, the Electric Type student was looking rather down as if he was deeply depressed about something before coming to school.
"Alola, Sophocles!" Sarah called to him as they entered and she arrived at her desk.
"Alola... Oh, man, I'm so hungry," Sophocles groaned miserably, perking Tai Lung's curiosity as he noticed how famished the poor boy was.
"Sophocles, what's the matter? Didn't you have breakfast this morning before coming here?" the Shiny Zeraora inquired as Sophocles recalled how he came across his mother sleeping and how he was forced to go to school without having breakfast at all.
"No... Mom overslept this morning, which she hardly ever does..."
Sarah and the others were now concerned over what Sophocles had told them but it was about to get even crazier for them as they noticed Mallow, Ash, Kiawe, Lana, and Lillie arriving for school, all of them looking either worried, tired, or annoyed as they took their places at their respective desks.
"Odin, what happened to you?" Fishlegs blinked in surprise.
"Are you okay, guys-bzt?" Manteon asked, sweatdropping awkwardly.
"Okay, what's gotten your Gengars in a twist today, kids?" Totem Marowak put in, suspicious over how agitated the rest of his caretaker's friends were being.
"Just listen to this! When I came to check on how everything was going before I left, Dad didn't have enough energy so he left all of the restaurant preparations to me while he slept on me, Shaymin, and Tsareena! I couldn't believe it!" Mallow snapped, annoyed.
"Sounds familiar, Mimo and I had to do all of our family's Pokemon chores before our deliveries had to be made," Kiawe added, sounding exhausted from what he and Mimo went through.
"Like us; Dad never went fishing before I left, he just lazed around like he was in a deep sleep," Lana included, Primarina and Sandy also worried for their partner's father.
"The same with Hobbes just as Snowy and I were leaving, he looked exhausted," Lillie nodded, remembering how Hobbes fell over while sleeping as she was preparing to leave. "What about your family, Sarah? Did they feel off today like with our folks?"
"No, not today. They just acted normal as ever, it was like whatever was happening with your parents and Hobbes didn't have any effect on Mom and Dad. Not even James, Nikki, Gramps, Granny, Auntie, Uncle, and Sis were sleeping in while we were all having breakfast this morning," Sarah replied, shrugging a bit as she recalled how her human family had been faring.
"That's strange, Professor Kukui and Professor Burnet were acting weird, too!" gasped Ash, recalling how exhausted Kukui and Burnet were after he woke up.
"How weird are we talking about, exactly? Exactly like how Hobbies, Abe, Lana's dad, Sophocles' mom, and Kiawe's parents are or what?" Zenna quizzed just as Kukui arrived, still exhausted and with his shirt unbuttoned at the top.
"Hey, everyone," he yawned.
"Weird like that," Ash answered, sweat-dropping.
"Alola, Professor... Hey, are you feeling alright? It's not like you to miss out on greeting us with 'Alola!'," Sarah questioned, worried and a little aghast over Kukui's current condition.
"Nothing, Sarah. Now, about the Manalo Festival that takes place the day after tomorrow during the total solar eclipse, I was going to do a class on it for you all but I figure you best go talk amongst yourselves about the festivities. That's right, you'll be fine," he answered before he left, leaving the heroes baffled and feeling awkward about the whole thing.
"...Okay, that was weird," Solar admitted.
"...What was all that about?" puzzled Athena, staring awkwardly at the unusually dull and boring Prof. Kukui as he left.
"I'm guessing it's been happening with your parents from what we've seen out of your resident scientist?" Race inquired to the gang as they nodded awkwardly.
"He was wearing a shirt, too. Even Burnet couldn't find it in herself to go diving, either," Ash added.
"Okay, something's definitely wrong. I'm sure Kukui never wore a shirt as far as we know and Burnet is always out for a morning dive; you'd know about that, Ash, since you've been living with them throughout your time in Alola. What's going on?" puzzled Sarah, now suspicious as she rubbed her chin thoughtfully.
And, what went down with Kukui and the gang's parents along with Hobbes didn't stop with them; even Principal Oak was snoozing about in his office on one of the couches with Kukui occupying the other one, leaving the principal's Kanto Vulpix to watch on awkwardly and worriedly, unsure of what to make of the scene before her. The absence of Kukui left the gang, Sarah, and Race with no choice but to carry on with their lessons, deciding to know more about the Manalo Festival with Kiawe taking Kukui's place as their teacher for the day.
"All right then, Class, I'd like to give you guys a talk about the Manalo Festival," he volunteered as he took to the front of the class.
"Cool, go for it!" Ash encouraged as the others smiled and Sarah nodded, giving her approval to her Fire Type friend to take over while the Pokemon, dragons, and creatures mingled inside or on the beach outside the school while they watched (with Eternatus claiming his old spot in the field outside of the school as he watched).
"This will be the first total eclipse of the sun in 21 years; according to the stories and Alolan folklore, the four Island Kahunas including Hala, Olivia, Nanu, and Hapu will each go to the four ruins of the Tapu Island Guardians in order for them and all of us to give thanks to the Legendary Pokemon who was said to have created our islands in the first place. Thus, the Manalo Festival."
Ash didn't catch on right away so Mallow told him, "It's an authentic Alola region tradition that's been practiced for countless generations."
"So, what does 'Manalo' mean, anyway?"
Kiawe was only too happy to explain as he told his Kanto friend, "It's a word in an ancient language that literally translates as, 'You and I are living here together'. It's been the heart and soul of our Alola customs and way of life ever since the islands first came to be thanks to the Legendary Pokemon that created them."
"Wow! That's such a cool word!"
"Yeah, I like it, too," smiled Ash and Lana brightly.
"'Manalo' and 'Alola', it sounds to me like those two words seem somehow connected to each other given their similar meanings and what they emphasize," Lillie informed thoughtfully.
"Well, as far as we know, the word, 'Alola', translates as 'Sharing'," Kiawe educated.
"So, if we put the two words together..."
"...We get the phrase, 'You and I live and share together'!" Lana and Sophocles stated, knowing the true meaning of both words together.
"Oh! Kiawe, I have a question; could you tell us about this Legendary Pokemon that was responsible for creating the islands of Alola we were speaking of, please?" Lillie inquired, not knowing what would come next out of her question.
"That's the Blinding One," Kiawe answered, his answer shocking Sarah and her family that knew of Necrozma, especially Poipole, as they gasped and their eyes widened and the princess slammed her hands on her desk as she stood up, remembering Reader's warning from her dream.
"Necrozma!" she blurted in realization.
"Guardian!" Poipole cried in alarm.
"Who?"
"You know about it, Master?" Wang Lun inquired the princess.
"Necrozma: the Blinding One, the Black Beast. Last year, Acerola told Ash and I about it at her library...and, later on," Sarah began as she looked at Poipole and the little Ultra Beast nodded, allowing her to say, "Poipole told us about her direct connection to Necrozma."
"Direct connection?"
"Huh, what are you talking about, Sarah?" puzzled Astrid and Zenna in confusion.
"This is the image we saw of it in its true form that day from the book that she gave to Sarah and that was before we found out about it as the Black Beast," Rotom-Dex informed as he pulled up the illustration of Necrozma in his true form alongside Nebby's creators, shocking and surprising the others that didn't know what Necrozma looked like before.
"Is that supposed to be the Blinding One?"
"Solgaleo and Lunala, too."
"Nebby's creators!" Sophocles, Lana, and Lillie stated.
"The picture Poipole drew months ago was also of the Blinding One," Rotom-Dex nodded as Poipole came to the illustration photographed in his databanks and eyed the one she called "Guardian".
"That's him..." she breathed, awestruck in remembrance.
"But, why would Poipole draw that and how could she be connected to it directly?" Mallow questioned.
"You saw, that's what I haven't figured out yet apart from Sarah," Ash admitted, not having much information about Necrozma himself to go on for his original theories.
"I've heard of the Blinding One, there's no doubt that's it," Lillie confessed.
"For real?" Ash asked, getting a nod from the Ice Type student.
"Back when Mother was a young girl herself, my grandfather would always tell her the legend of the Blinding One when she went to bed; it was her favorite bedtime story. Later, while my brother and I were growing up, Mother would tell us the same story as we were going to sleep."
"Wow, that's cool!"
"Hey, can you tell us that story, too?"
"The legend of the Blinding One!" Mallow and Lana begged excitedly.
"Of course," Lillie obliged before Race interrupted as he came to the group.
"Hold your horses, Lillie. I think we should learn about Poipole's connection to Necrozma first 'cause she knows something about it in addition to what you know from the legend," he reminded, staring at Poipole and Sarah as the latter just nodded.
Deciding to take a chance, the little princess told everybody what Poipole confessed to her family the previous year from her actually being from Ultra Space along with her subjects and her mother as their own princess to that fateful day when Team Eclipse and those aligned with them were able to take control of Necrozma, having stolen its light in the process and turning it into the Black Beast many people know of today just so they can destroy the Alolan Royal Family without any regard of the consequences done to Poipole's world if it isn't returned to its rightful home.
To say that the gang was horrified and shocked by the whole thing would be an understatement, "WHAT/NO WAY/UNREAL/NO/YOU'RE KIDDING/ARE YOU SURE?!"
Sarah shook her head as Kiawe gasped and realized, "So, that's it; Lothor and Team Eclipse took control the one responsible for protecting Ultra Space and the creation of our region by stealing its light with help from the ancestors of the Ultra Recon Squad..."
"But, Dulse and Zossie didn't seem like bad people despite how their ancestors acted; in fact, they're really nice people that are just as concerned for us as they were for the Ultra Pillars when they accidentally crossed over," Mallow put in.
"I guess they were too ashamed or worried about what they did and how we would react if they told us so they kept their origins and the Ultra Recon Squad a secret just so we don't get any ideas about them," Sarah theorized.
"If this Black Beast is the same Necrozma, the Blinding One that this region knows of, is it the same Ultra Beast or Pokemon your parents were forced to seal away 500 years ago during the Ultra Beast War?" Fishlegs clarified worriedly, getting a grim nod from the princess.
She then turned to her best friend as she inquired, "Lillie, just so we're all in the know on the story Lusamine told you and Gladion, what exactly did the original legend about the Blinding One say?"
Lillie thought as she began to recall, "Well, if I remember correctly, it goes like this, 'Many years ago, when the Blinding One appeared in our land, the world overflowed with a blinding and glistening light. That light had a strange and wonderful power which created the islands of Alola: Melemele, Akala, Ulu'Ulu, and Poni. But, when the Blinding One shed its benevolent light, it transformed into darkness and went into a deep sleep. At that moment, the sun and moon became flesh and appeared before it, bathing themselves in their own light and sharing it with Alola's creator. As it reawakened from its slumber, the Blinding One's light once again shone brightly and it spread to the ends of the sky. The end...'"
"I never heard that before," admitted Kiawe, impressed.
"What about the sun and moon becoming flesh?" Ash pondered, amazed and even more curious about the original legend.
"If I'm to hazard a guess, the legend must've alluded to Nebby's creators: Solgaleo and Lunala, being the ones that shared their light with Necrozma at that point," Virizion answered.
"Virizion's right, they were in the illustration with Necrozma, too," smiled Mallow, seeing where the Wisest of the Swords of Justice is going.
"And, the ends of the sky?" Sophocles pondered.
"Maybe an Ultra Wormhole leading to Ultra Space," Lana answered theoretically.
"That must mean, Necrozma still might be on the other side of the Ultra Wormhole and once sealed away back in Ultra Space," Kiawe called in surprise.
Lillie nodded, "Maybe, as long as it's not just some kind of fairy tale."
"Well, no need to worry, Lillie. I once lived through the horror that Necrozma was when it was the Black Beast during the Ultra Beast War before I was sent to the future and Reader warned me last night that he's coming," Sarah informed, surprising everybody. "But, I plan to tell my parents about it later and what could happen to Poipole's home as well as her subjects and her mother if we don't act in time."
"So, what'll we do in the meantime?" Hiccup pondered worriedly.
"We'll figure it out as we go along but right now, we should concentrate on our lives as well as prepare for the Manalo Festival and hope things don't turn out for the worst behind our backs," the princess decided, worriedly looking at Poipole as she floated to the balcony and looked up at some nimbus clouds overhead as if it was another ominus sign of what was to come.
Soon, Komala rang the school bell, signaling to everyone that it was lunchtime. While the gang got ready to eat with their own lunches (if they have any to go around before leaving), before she joined them, Sarah went over to the schoolyard to hand her family some bowls filled with Pokemon food, Shaderoot Carrots, and Iceroot Carrots for the Pokemon and newly-prepared Mackeral, Trout, Seabass, and Salmon Masaladas for the dragons.
"It's lunchtime!" cheered Ash as he brought out his lunch, only to hear Sophocles sigh and see him looking even more depressed. "Sophocles? Oh, no, you don't have any lunch?"
Sophocles gave a dramatic yet tearful sigh as he moaned, "Nope, it's all over... I'm done for."
"Same here..."
"Ditto..." Togedemaru and Vikavolt agreed, both moaning in dramatic fashion as Sarah joined the gang with her own lunch at hand after feeding her family.
"We'll help you! You see, being hungry isn't all Fun-fisk, Funky, no, Mantine!" Ash offered, acting a little like Principal Oak with the Pokemon pun.
"What does that mean? Ash, you're making me hungrier," Sophocles deadpanned, still feeling hungry.
"Oh, no!" Sarah groaned, facepalming at Ash's attempt at a Pokemon pun.
"Uh, Ash... What the hell are you talking about?" Race quipped, not understanding Ash's pun.
"Ash is imitating Principal Oak and his puns," Rotom-Dex stated as the others cringed.
"If that's his attempt at comedy for America's Funniest, I'd give that a '0'," Silvally sighed.
"Don't tell me you've gotten weird, too," Mallow groaned.
Ash grumbled at the others not taking his attempt at a Pokemon pun seriously as he perked up again and clarified while giving some of his lunch to Sophocles, "Come on, you guys, this is Alola! That means sharing with everyone our Pokemon, right?"
"Here you go," Pikachu offered, giving Togedemaru and Vikavolt some berriesafter seeing Ash's act of kindness to Sophocles.
"For you, eat up!" smiled Stufful, nudging some of her berries to the pair and following his example.
"What?" blinked Vikavolt and Togedemaru in surprise as they noticed some of the other Pokemon offering some of their own berries as well.
"Cheers, guys!"
"We hope it helps!"
"All for you, darlings!"
"Eat up, dudes!"
"Berries on us!"
"Yeah!"
"Bon appetit!" Turtonator, Primarina, Tsareena, Sandy, Poipole, Snowy, and Bella smiled on behalf of the Pokemon offering their food to their Electric Type friends.
"Oh! Thanks, you guys!"
"You're the best!" Togedemaru and Vikavolt replied, wanting to cry out of gratitude.
The others all smiled as they finally understood the meaning behind Ash's pun and then pitched in to help Sophocles by offering bits of their own lunches, "All right, I'll join you!"
"Me, too!"
"I'm in!"
"And, me!"
"Here you go, Sophocles."
"Dig in."
"Thanks, everyone! This is awesome!" Sophocles thanked, feeling grateful that he and his Pokemon had such wonderful friends to help them out of a jam.
"Time to eat!" everybody cheered as they began eating their lunches with Sophocles extremely happy about the food he was offered by his friends as he cried happily, "It's yummy!"
"You know, Ash, I'm surprised you've learned something meaningful from Principal Oak's puns. You're the only person I know of right now outside of Alola that now gets what Alola and Manalo mean, aren't you?" smiled an impressed Sarah to Ash.
"Huh?" Ash puzzled, confused.
"They mean sharing and living together in peace and harmony, right?" Kiawe clarified.
Sarah nodded in agreement as they went about their day, happy to have discovered and learned what Alola and Manalo meant to the people of Alola. But, even so, not everything would be all sunshine and rainbows from a technical standpoint for everybody; with Team Rocket, they were continuing their business as part-time Masalada sellers in their Masalada truck away from their missions but Jessie and James (Team Rocket) were also looking worn out and tired as the other adults apart from Sarah's human family. Even Wobuffett and Meowth didn't seem to be affected by this change as they tried to carry on with business as usual despite the strange circumstances going on, especially since the latter was looking forward to the solar eclipse coming soon.
"This will be a blast! I want the eclipse to be today!" he smiled, eager for the Manalo Festival to begin.
"But, you know with eclipses, the moon and sun can cover each other up and you can't see. Certainly not my idea of a good time..."
"Ancient civilizations were petrified by them back then but to us modern folk, an eclipse, be it solar or lunar, is nothing more than a natural phenomenon," his partners replied lazily as they lounged about or tried to sleep.
"Hmph, since when did you bozos become such fuddy-duddies?" Meowth frowned indignantly.
"Don't look at me," Wobuffett replied as he gestured towards a tired and worn-out Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy (who was eating a Masalada in her sleep) from nearby as they slept.
"Well, everybody's looking forward to it. Oy, vey, give me strength..."
After school was out and everybody went home, Mallow, Tsareena, and her Shaymin returned to their family's restaurant only to find that her father was absent and the place was closed for the day with Abe and some other people hanging about in Teacher's place as he worked to help them stay awake. Of course, Sarah did manage to tell her family about Necrozma and Reader's warning and they were also shocked by what they heard.
As for the Viking Teens and Race, once she was able to join them after telling her family everything, they went over to the RainWing Village to see how her new subjects were adapting to their new home. They noticed how everybody in the village was enjoying themselves and they could help but smile, all of them seeing everybody flying freely and having fun without a care in the world.
Even Petunia, Casper and Mittens (both now in their Live Forms), and Starla (Sarah's Cuddlemonkey) decided to tag along for the trip, the visit doing wonders for Petunia as she cooed in awe and her eyes twinkled at the sight of other dragons similar to her. Even the dragonets joining them-Spice, Ginger, Azure, Aster, and Warner-couldn't help but marvel in wonder at the RainWings before them.
"Gemish!" Petunia babbled while rolling on her bottom and happily clapping her hands.
"Friends, friends, friends, friends, friends...!" the dragonets chirped excitedly as they jumped up and down, getting chuckles out of Sarah and Race.
The two of them had been caring for the dragonets for a while and their progress was already showing with the dragonets (safe for Petunia) finally beginning to speak, learning that they would be able to talk a few days after hatching so it was a personal achievement for them.
"Daddy, can we play with them?"
"Please?" begged Ginger and Spice, fluttering their wings in excitement.
"Not yet, maybe when you're all bigger. You got tons of playmates back home, have fun with them for a bit before you join them," Race chuckled, getting disappointed groans from the dragonets as they gave off adorable pouts and crossed their wings in an angry yet cute fashion.
"Not fun!"
"No fair!" grumbled Azure and Aster cutely with Warner nodding in agreement, getting more chuckles out of their adoptive parents and the Viking Teens and their dragons.
Race kept on smiling, "But, if you really want to, we can take you to Berk to play with some."
"...YAY!" they cheered.
"Would you look at those five? It looks like they're incredible productive under Sarah and Race's wings," Astrid smiled. "They're already starting and learning how to talk days after hatching."
"Dragonets mature and learn fast after they hatched which makes learning from our ancestors what they left for us all the more sweeter," Fishlegs smiled.
"Come on, you energetic bouncing balls, Ash and Kiawe are waiting for us at the beach for another one of their training battles for the Pokemon League. Let's go," Sarah chuckled to the dragonets as all of them headed for the beach near the Pokemon School, meeting up with Ash and Kiawe as they began training for the Alola League.
"Ready for this?"
"Bring it on!"
"Now, Pikachu!"
"Let's do it, Pyroar!" they bantered as Pikachu and Pyroar stood ready and their partners activate Inferno Overdive and Gigavolt Havoc off the bat.
"Use Gigavolt Havoc!"
"Inferno Overdrive, FULL POWER!"
The training battle seemed to gotten off the ground and it looked as though they'll be going out with a bang but to everyone's surprise, when the two Z-Moves clashed, they ended up coming out as a puff of smoke and their power was greatly dwindled.
"Now, what?" they both pondered, equally baffled.
"What happened?"
"Unreal!"
"The Z-Moves, they lost all their power!"
"But, how? With the Tapu Guardians around, they should be at full strength!" Tyson, Tou-Tou, Dusk, and Luna balked in shock and surprise.
"Please tell me we're not having a repeat of what happened in Dia's world involving Guzzlord," Zeraora begged.
"What's happening?" Nebby pondered worriedly, looking toward the horizon with Poipole as even they were not expecting this to happen while everyone else was distracted.
"Not much power happening today, is there?" Kiawe thought.
"For real?"
"How strange," Pikachu and Pyroar replied.
"It appears Pikachu and Pyroar have not built up the Z-Power of their bodies like they usually do!" Rotom-Dex cried.
"It is cloudly out, I've not seen a break in the sky all day," Ash frowned.
"Could that be the reason?" Kiawe pondered before Poipole suddenly panicked as she felt a sudden jolt of pain within her head and became even more flustered.
"AHHHH! I-it-it... It can't be! It's time, it's here! It's here! It's coming! Going, going, we have to go! Go! GO!" she panicked, quickly drawing up another picture in her haste while she was flailing about like she had a Clampearl biting her tail.
"Poipole! What's wrong?!" Sarah asked as they gathered around her.
"Are you okay, Poipole?" Toothless questioned, concerned.
"What's gotten her tiny tail in a tizzy?"
"Search me, I wonder what she's drawing right now," Barf and Belch bantered.
"It's alright, Poipole! Take it easy, lass, it's okay! Just calm down and tell us what's going on," Xena soothed but it did little to stop Poipole from freaking out as she continued to draw.
"This is no time to calm down! We have to go! It's here! It's time! Necrozma, my guardian! Back from slumber! He's here! He's getting closer!" she continued, nearly finished with her drawing. "His Ultra Aura, I know it anywhere! He's not closer to any Ultra Wormholes so its weak! He's almost to Alola! I'm sure of it! He's nearly here!"
Once she was finished with her drawing, to everyone's shock, they saw what looked to be the symbol of Necrozma drawn on the sand as she cried and pointed to it, "LOOK!"
"What is it?"
"It looks like the symbol of Necrozma, only the Black Beast and/or the Blinding One could have such an insignia," Guardeon theorized, looking at the symbol and thinking back to the original illustration of the Blinding One they were all shown.
"I need to document this, Lusamine and everyone else at the Aether Foundation need to know about it!" Rotom-Dex realized, quickly taking photos of Necrozma's symbol in hopes of showing the Aether Foundation what they just found out from Poipole.
"Does that mean...?" Seleneon realized with growing worry.
"...Yes, my parents' seal on Necrozma is finally broken. And, now, he's roaming around freely again unless we do something to reign him in and return him to his original form," Sarah replied grimly.
Tyson nodded as he states what everyone is thinking, "It's crunch time, literally."
"How are we going to do that, Mother? That giant four-winged bat is as big as King Kong and without any morons like Team Eclipse around to take him for a joyride, that massive runt could still demolish us with all that power he has," Silvally put in doubtfully.
"But, the only one who knows how Necrozma fights among us is Poipole. If he's her guardian, then she must know his fighting style so at least we're not helpless let alone fighting blind here," Breezeon pointed out.
"How else are we going to deal with that flying night light without him breaking our bones, then?" Elklace pondered.
"That's a happy thought," replied Permafrost sarcastically.
"Mind if we cut in?" a voice replied, the heroes turning towards the owner to find Dulse and Zossie standing before them.
"You?!" Ash blurted in surprise at the sight of the Ultra Recon Squad.
Meanwhile, at Aether Paradise, along with Burnet, the exhaustion she was somehow feeling was also prominent in Faba and Wicke, the three of them in Lusamine's office trying to work out what was going on in Alola at the moment. And, since they were all feeling tired and in need of some sleep, it was getting hard for them to stay awake to do so.
"The power of Ultra Auras that we've observed throughout the Alola Region so far has taken a sudden nosedive, don't you think?" Burnet yawned to her co-workers.
"But, why would that happen?" Faba replied tiredly.
"I'm working on it." "Faba...?" Wicke called, exhausted while she tried to eat a cookie on a couch close by.
"Yes?"
"You know you're forbidden to speak until your...superiors speak for a second, which in this case, is me."
"Oh, please forgive me, Chief..."
"Oh, my! Mmm, Sorry, I never intended to speak to you that way, Faba... I need to cheer up, such talk... Ooh, I don't like the way I've been acting..."
"Well, you're not the only one... I might be feeling the same way, too," Burnet yawned in agreement, not used to feeling exhausted as she is now.
Soon, the door opened and Lusamine stepped in, also feeling exhausted and sleepy while having a bedhead on her while groaning, "Is this a side effect of the Ultra Auras weakening...?"
Burnet, although tired as she yawned again, nodded and she concurred to her frinnd and superior, "...I can't say for certain but the results of what's been happening since this morning could be related. Mmm, results complete. It apperas that a tiny Ultra Wormhole just opened up and it seems to be absorbing the sum total of the region's Ultra Aura power."
"Absorbing...?"
"Up until now, whenever the Ultra Pillars would appear, Ultra Aura power levels rose dramatically with their presence. But, this time, it's the exact opposite," Wicke added. "The only possibilty that I can think of is that deep within Ultra Space, there's something unknown out there that's absorbing the region's Ultra Aura power."
Lusamine looked grim as she lazily declared, "Then, it looks like we're going to have to investigate this matter immediately!"
"What a hassle," they all finished, groaning as they slumped in exhaustion with Faba adding tiredly, "True..."
But, somewhere out in the ocean, making its way to the Alola Region, a helicopter from Team Rocket was on a collision course and one of the organization's top experts as well as Jessie, James (Team Rocket), and Meowth's superior and foremost rival, Matori, and her Matrix were already on their way. They had also had their attention drawn to the depletion of Ultra Aura power in the region as well as the Ultra Wormhole and she had been assigned to lead an operation to uncover the Blinding One.
Her boss, the original Giovanni, soon called in on her and told her, "Status report."
"Giovanni, Sir. As we suspected, a very small Ultra Wormhole has just been opened. As such, the possibilty exist that our intended target may very well appear in due time," Matori informed.
Giovanni nodded as he continued, "I see, are you absolutely certain that our target will prove to be the Blinding One and the Guardian of Ultra Space: Necrozma?"
"Not sure, that is my goal to find out the answer. But, given our research pertaining to Necrozma and the Ultra Beast War it's connected to, especially regarding the Lost Princess and her family and the part they played in sealing the beast away for all these years, I'm sure we'll find out sooner or later."
"Hm-Hm-Hm-Hm-Hmm. Then, good luck to you, Matori."
"Sir," nodded Matori as a satisfied Giovanni ended the call and left her to her own devices for the mission at hand, turning to her right-hand man, Gozu, for an update. "Gozu, when do we get to Alola at this time?"
"Madam, we're almost there now. We'll be arriving before nightfall," replied the one-eyed Team Rocket grunt.
"Begin!"
"Engage camouflage!"
"Roger!" With that, Matori's ship had its cloaking device activated and it turned invisible with Matori and her Matrix crew preparing to slip into Alola without being detected and seen by anybody in the region.
At a small clearing with a ravine, Gladion and his Silvally were resting together as they were continuing their travels and training across the region to complete the Island Challenge and understanding the Z-Moves, their power, and the meaning behind them and the challenge itself. However, Silvally was feeling restless and agitated as he frantically struggled in Gladion's hold while his human friend and savior tried to calm him down.
"What's the matter, Silvally?!" he grunted, trying to soothe his friend as he struggled and gave off frantic roars. "You-ugh-got to-ugh-calm down! Please, Silvally! Now!"
But then, the Dark Type trainer recalled how frantic his friend felt, especially when he recounted their encounter with Nebby when he was only a Cosmog and what led up to one of their first meetings with Sarah. "Wait, are you... Are you afraid?"
Silvally gave a confirming yet slightly frightened growl as Gladion looked to the sky with narrowed eyes, having a bad feeling that whatever's coming to Alola, it was more than enough to make him scared and antsy.
"It can't be..."
Gladion was right to be concerned and his Silvally was right to be afraid; inside an Ultra Wormhole, Solgaleo and Lunala were taking a break from their duties to watch over the balance between Alola and Ultra Space as they played with each other like they often did. But, their fun was short-lived as Necrozma suddenly appeared before the pair and spotted them before him, struggling to break through another wormhole he emerged from as he targeted the Sunne and Moone Pokemon for their power.
"I...need...LIIIIIGGGGHHHHTTTTT!"
"Hu-NO!"
"Impossible!" Solgaleo and Lunala cried in shock and horror, seeing Necrozma released from his prison and coming for them in full force.
Solgaleo tried to defend Lunala with Roar to make Necrozma back down but the Black Blast retaliated with his signature attack, Prismatic Laser, his lasers blasting the startled Psychic/Steel Dual Type and knocking him out as he hit the edges of the wormhole.
"SOLGALEO!" screamed a horrified Lunala who had no choice but to flee as Necrozma was right on her tail, flying as fast as she could in hopes of getting help wherever she may end up.
"What in the name of Odin?" Astrid blinked in surprise, staring at Dulse and Zossie.
"Alright, what's with Robocop-Dee and Robocop-Dum?" Eternatus asked as he was once again resting in his original spot on the field (for, in truth, Eternatus, the Cyber Gang, the Jungle Guard, the Baby Jungle Pokemon, and their older siblings never met the Ultra Recon Squad).
But, Sarah, Kiawe, Ash, and everyone else that met the Ultra Recon Squad soon smiled as they remembered the pair, "Zossie, Dulse...Alola."
"Alola, Princess, nice call on your journey months ago. You guys went through a lot to find your parents after 500 years and you hit the jackpot at Poni Island," Zossie smiled back while showing a peace sign.
"Congratulations on bringing them back," Dulse added in congratulations.
"Nice seeing ya again, guys," Ash smiled in greeting.
"What brings you back our way, is it another Ultra Beast sighting involving the Ultra Pillars?" Kiawe asked.
Dulse and Zossie sighed grimly, giving each other a knowing nod as the latter confirmed, "Yes, but this time, it's worse than you can imagine. You see, I'm sure you all know by now that Necrozma is on his way to Alola, right?"
"Right," Ash and Kiawe nodded knowingly with Sarah giving a knowing nod.
Dulse nodded back as he continued and then turned his attention to Poipole as she floated next to the little princess, "Then, you know now that our ancestors and Team Eclipse were the ones responsible for what happened to him after his light was stolen and he became the Black Beast as a result. And, it's a good thing we found you as well as Queen Naganadel's daughter. That makes things easier if she managed to get here as per her mother's orders now that I remember."
"Wai-hold on! You guys and the Ultra Recon Squad know Poipole's mother?" gasped Sarah in surprise and disbelief as she and Poipole floated and stepped forward.
"Yes. She's a good friend and ally of ours and today's Ultra Recon Squad and she supports our operations to monitor each place within reach of the Ultra Wormholes for any activity that could not only prove beneficial to the wellbeing of everyone including her subjects and the Ultra Pillars."
"And, as you probably guests, all Ultra Beasts including the Ultra Pillars live with us in Ultra Space. Even...Guzzlord," Zossie added, shivering at the mention of Guzzlord.
"No, way," Sho blinked in silent shock.
"You mean to tell us that giant world-eating monster we've booted out of Dia's place is an Ultra Pillar and he actually lives with you in Ultra Space?" Silvally balked in stunned disbelief.
"Unfortunately, yes. He's extremely infamous for his insufferable appetite and terrifying prowess of strength and power, we all do our best to steer clear of him whenever he makes his presence known. The queen, as far as we know, is the only one who can control him," Dulse sighed regretfully.
The others, who had not heard of Guzzlord, were puzzled as Snotlout, Ruffnut, and Tuffnut replied, "Who the Odin is Guzzlord?"
"Don't ask," Nebby and Nebula winced, shivering with fear over Guzzlord and their family's encounter with him.
"Our leader, Phyco, sent us to observe and return any Ultra Beasts that happened to accdentally cross over into another world, primarily yours, including the Ultra Pillars but as far as we can tell, you're all doing a great job at that. On behalf of the Ultra Recon Squad, we thank you. All we can do now is hope that no more will be coming by accident and if Guzzlord doesn't target your world next," Dulse went on.
"Oh, believe us, we don't want that freak anywhere home."
"Dulse, Zossie... How's my mother, is she okay...?" Poipole asked despite Dulse and Zossie not understanding Pokemon Speak.
"Poipole wants to know how her mother's doing," Sarah translated, prompting Zossie and Dulse to look worriedly at each other before Zossie broke the harsh truth to Poipole about her mother's current condition.
"I'm sorry, Princess...She's still weak. But, she's still clinging onto hope, knowing that you'll bring help somehow," she replied reluctantly.
"...Mommy," Poipole whimpered, trying not to cry as Sarah approached her and held her gently.
"Poipole, it's okay. I promise, we'll save Necrozma and your world. Whatever happens, my family, my friends, all of us will help you," she reassured.
Poipole couldn't find it in herself to reply as she was doing her best not to break down over her unintentional absence and extended stay in her human caretaker's causing her mother, her subjects, and her world more grief in the long run. Instead, she just gave a thankful and tearful nod, knowing that her friends will do whatever they can to save her world and return Necrozma back to his original form as the Blinding One.
"Princess, if I may ask, did Poipole come here to find you?" Dulse inquired.
"Yeah, she told us months ago actually came here to find the one person who acn help from restore Necrozma to its former glory; that person was me. The sealing art that was used by my parents on Team Eclipse 500 years ago was also used to seal away Necrozma but it must've weakened over time and now, it was able to break free."
"But, where would an Ultra Beast like that be sealed away at, anyway?" Zenna quizzed.
"Necrozma's crystal tomb is in Ultra Space at Pillar Canyon named after the place where the Ultra Pillars would accidently cross over to your world from. The tomb is nestled in the ravine within the canyon itself but the seal on it is now weak and it's able to break free, regaining whatever power it had lost earlier in its rampage," Zossie replied.
"Yeah... Wait! Didn't you say there was as prophecy you told us you came across at the Ultra Recon Squad's cavern campsite two years ago?" Ghost (Dragapult) asked Sarah.
"Yep, the passage written on the wall read, 'On that fated day, when the Black Beast of the Ultra Dimension reappears to swallow the Light of Alola, the fated heroine, her Pokemon, and everyone she loves will rise up against the darkness and use her heart and the Blade of the Sun Lion to restore life to its heart. The light will expire if the beast runs rampant or allows a being with a black heart to take control. But, if exposed to the light from the goodness and love of the heroine's heart, all shall be saved.'," Sarah recited, nodding.
"...Dark," Tyson commented.
"Goodness me," Xena gasped, stunned. "Princess, we had no idea..."
With Zenna and Hiccup's Riolu, Kaulu and Loki, the former shivered in fear while the latter fearfully quipped as they held each other, "Spooky...!"
"Is that what it really said?" asked a concerend Perseus.
"Yes, that's it! That's it! That's the prophecy Mommy always told us about! I'm sure of it, it tells of the princess and my guardian!" Poipole confirmed knowingly with a determined nod.
"But, what does it all mean?" Fishlegs pondered.
"I have a feeling we'll find out tomorrow as the Manalo Festival draws near," Cobalion answered, looking out at the horizon and having a bad feeling about what's about to happen soon. "Whatever the answers related to the mystery are, I'm sure they'll be here, soon..."
The following day, everybody returned to the school to begin their lessons again but much to their concern, nothing's changed. The adults (safe for Sarah's human family) were still strangely worn out and Principal Oak and Kukui's lazing about left the students teaching themselves once again with Lillie taking the teacher's helm this time. Before then, Zossie and Dulse were invited to stay with Sarah and her family for the night and to join them and the others at the Pokemon School later, which they kindly accepted since they all knew their own help will be essential to solving the mystery involving Necrozma.
Naturally, given their past with the original Ultra Recon Squad and Team Eclipse with their alliance 500 years earlier, Doug, Delilah, Donna (former queen), and David were not as trusting with their descendants, even if Dulse and Zossie and their own team were nothing like their ancestors all those years ago. It took some convincing on Sarah's part and relaying what they had discussed on her part to get them to trust the pair but eventually, the rest of the Alolan Royal Family was able to accept them and do what they can to help as well.
But, as far as they can tell given their current situation (once the rest of the gang was told everything and they were all finally in the know), they were running out of time and the clouds outside were getting darker with still no break in sight and the Manalo Festival drew closer and closer. It also didn't help that Dulse and Zossie previously mentioned something of another Ultra Wormhole that appeared somewhere around Alola and they and the Ultra Recon Squad had no idea where it could be located. So, for the time being, unless they have more information and/or something changes, they'll have to run on blind faith that something will come about that will give them an edge or a hail mary.
"Aw, man, it just won't clear up," Ash frowned as everybody looked at the clouds from inside the classroom.
Kiawe couldn't help but worry as he agreed with Ash's sentiments, "Worse than that, it seems to be getting darker out."
"And, poor Poipole's getting even more restless than ever. The threat of Necroza's impending appearance is already getting to her," Sarah said worriedly, looking at Poipole as she couldn't help but pace the area as she floated about and had her mind on her home and the wellbeing of her subjects and her mother.
"I think a bad storm is on its way," Lillie theorized, hoping for the best as she went to the balcony.
But, it wasn't; at that moment, to everyone's surprise, Komala rang the emergency call for the Power Rangers Ultra Rescue to assemble for an emergency meeting with Lusamine at the Command Center and the potential of another Ultra Beast or one of the other Ultra Pillars accidentally crossing over.
"Is that the Power Rangers Ultra Rescue emergency signal?!" pondered Mallow.
"I don't doubt it," Sophocles answered, looking scared as he saw Principal Oak and Kukui on the couches, looking terribly exhausted and sleeping again as the former's Kanto Vulpix looked on worriedly at her trainer from on the coffee table again. "Look at Prof. Kukui!"
"I'm sure that's a game..."
"I'm snored out..." the school principal and Pokemon Professor yawned, continuing to snooze as the Kanto Vulpix cooed worriedly for them.
This left Sarah to take the lead once more as she prepared for everybody to head to the Command Center for their new mission, "Alright, Power Rangers, whatever's going on out there involving Necrozma and what's happening to everybody in Ultra Space and our world can't be ignored! Roll out!"
"Mmm-hmm!" the others agreed as the elevator to the Command Center appeared along with the portal for the creatures and bigger Pokemon to enter to the base and the Zord Bay below and they all went inside and through.
Zossie and Dulse were amazed by what they saw as they remained rooted in their original spots with widened eyes underneath their visors, prompting Sarah to turn to the two Ultra Recon Squad members and request to them before she took her place in the elevator, "Will you join us?"
Snapping out of their stupor, the two of them agreed before they squeezed themselves with everyone else inside the lift before they were taken to the Command Center, the gang, Race, and Sarah donning their Ultra Guardian Battle Suits again and their Pokemon and the princess' dragons gaining their PRUR tags once more and meeting Clefable once they arrived.
"Welcome, friends! Our commander will speak with you now!" the Fairy Type greeted, directing everyone to the monitor above them and allowing them to see Lusamine still in her ragged condition as she wearily got up onto her desk, much to their surprise and worry.
"...Alright, Power Rangers, is everyone ready?" she asked tiredly.
"...Yes, M'am," answered Ash as everybody now felt worried and awkward about her.
"Lusamine, are you okay?" Sarah inquired before a shocked Lillie intervened and chastised, "Now, Mother! Would you please make yourself presentable before appearing in public?!"
"I guess... But, it's such a hassle..."
"Mother, how could you?!"
"Hey, come on, Lillie! Take it easy! Let's not fight with each other while forgetting about the larger threat taking place here!" Sarah cried in alarm, trying to hold Lillie and calm her down before she could explode into a fit of rage.
"Don't take that tone with your mother, Lillie, dear," Winter soothed. "Whatever's happened to the adults including Hobbes must've affected her along with Wicke and Faba as well."
"She's right, Lillie, this is currently beyond her control right now," Keldeo put in.
"Yeah, we're all on the same side here!" Brawleon agreed in reminder.
"Please, listen. Go to the Altar of the Sunne on Poni Island right away," Lusamine replied lazily, breaking up the arguing and surprising everybody gathered.
"The Altar of the Sunne?"
"Again?" blinked Hydreigon and Snowflake.
"Does that mean there's likely...?"
"...Another sighting of the Ultra Pillars or a random Ultra Beast?" Cobalt and Star deduced.
"We'll save the details for when we get there."
"You got it," Race nodded.
"Fine, chop-chop," Lusamine finished tiredly, causing everybody to comically fall over while groaning in exasperation. "...Is something wrong?"
"Now is when you're supposed to say your phrase!" Rotom-Dex reminded as Sarah recomposed herself as she went over to the supercomputer despite still feeling awkward about the whole thing.
"Don't worry, Lusamine. We got everything under control, just explain everything to us when we get to the altar. Try and get some Zs while you're at it until we're there, take it easy," the princess replied before she ended the transmission and turned to Clefable. "Clefable, once we have the Ultra Balls and the rest of our gear ready, can you and the rest of Lusamine's Pokemon go to Aether Paradise and look after her and the others in her office?"
"Yes, Your Highness, I'll get your gear right away!" Clefable saluted as she went to get the supplies the Power Rangers needed for their new assignment.
"Guys, from the looks of it, things are gonna go from bad to worse soon and we have to be ready no matter what. If Necrozma IS coming to Alola from Ultra Space this time instead of the other Ultra Pillars, we're in for the fight of our lives because whether or not he, Ultra Space, Queen Naganadel, and her and Poipole's subjects along with our world will be save depends entirely on us. If we somehow die, we die with honor and for everyone we know and love. But still, this all depends on our success to bring back the Blinding One no matter what the cost. Whatever happens, I'm proud to not only have you all as my friends and my family but also to have met you when I did... Let's power up!" the princess informed the others.
"Right!" the others agreed, everybody gathered saluting to their leader, friend, and human mother/caretaker while Dulse and Zossie looked on in admiration.
Getting onboard their Ride Pokemon and Winter along with Solar, Athena, and the dragons, with the rest of their party, Turmoil, Perseus, Zossie, Dulse, and Nebby and his carriage caring everyone else not too far behind (with the addition of Sarah's entire human family and their Pokemon joining them once they had been told), the gang all returned to Poni Island and the Altar of the Sunne. There, they found Burnet, Wicke, Lusamine, and Faba already waiting for them as the clouds above them grew darker and darker (Faba trying to work out what happens next as he tried to gather more data in his current condition and the other three relieved and happy to see the heroes).
"Wow! Hey, you're here, Professor!" Ash called to Prof. Burnet, feeling relieved to see her in brighter spirits despite her sleepy condition.
"Looking good, kiddos," Burnet smiled sleepily as she waved to everybody gathered.
"Hang tight, Member Number Nine of your team is coming soon," Lusamine added, confusing everyone as to who the newest member of their team is and who will be joining them as their ninth Power Ranger.
"Member Number Nine?" Ash echoed.
"Wait, Lusamine, who exactly is our newest member?" Sarah inquired in confusion just as a gust of wind surprised them and they looked up to see a Noivern familiar to Snowy and Lillie (Bone's friend) appear before them and jumping off the Sound Wave Pokemon after he landed was Gladion, now decked out in an Ultra Rescue Battle Suit of his own and with his own Wrist Com housing his new morpher to boot.
"Hey, Sarah, Ash, Lillie," he greeted, relieved to see his closest friends and sister unharmed.
"Gladion!?" Ash cried, ecstatic.
"Hey, Gladion," smiled Sarah, nodding to him.
"Gladie!" Snowy chirped happily.
"It's great to see you! Why are you here and how did you become a Power Ranger?" Lillie smiled curiously, also excited to see her brother join the Power Rangers.
"Silvally is frightened to a degree I've never witnessed before and if that's because of an Ultra Beast including one of the Ultra Pillars, the danger we're about to face could be unheard of. Far greater than anything we've ever faced before in our journeys."
"Yeah, we know. Sarah and her family and our new friends from the Ultra Recon Squad, Dulse and Zossie, gave us the lowdown on Necrozma," Ash nodded grimly and knowingly.
"Necrozma?" Gladion echoed curiously.
Sarah and Poipole approached him, the sight of the Princess of Ultra Space taking him by surprise as she explained, "He's the guardian of Poipole's world of Ultra Space; it was the one responsible for bringing light to her kingdom and for creating Alola in the first place. But, 500 years ago, during the Ultra Beast War, Team Eclipse and Dulse and Zossie's ancestors joined forces and stole its light, they left her home and Ultra Space with little to no hope of survival. My real parents were forced to seal it away as well at Pillar Canyon after they defeated Lothor and Team Eclipse but now it's escaped and if we don't do something, Poipole's kingdom and her mother and subjects could be lost forever."
She then noticed how tense Gladion is when he eyed Poipole and couldn't fully get his head around everything he was told and she reassured him, "Look, it's okay. Poipole doesn't mean you any harm, she originally came here to find me in order to save Ultra Space and Necrozma. I know this is a lot to take in, too, but trust me. Everything I told you is the truth just as I found out and it's exactly what Poipole, Dulse, and Zossie also told me and the others."
Gladion was still a little baffled and on edge but he decided to trust Sarah's judgment and give her a trusting nod before he noticed Dulse and Zossie approaching him with the latter offering him his had for a handshake as he greeted, "You must be Gladion, the princess' friend and Lillie's brother, correct?"
"...Yes," Gladion answered as he shook his and Zossie's hands.
"Thank you. I'm Zossie and this is my brother, Dulse; the two of us are part of the Ultra Recon Squad you see before you. And, don't worry, we and our squad are nothing like our ancestors of ages long past," Zossie smiled kindly, giving a slow but trusting nod from Gladion as a result before everybody prepared themselves to hear what Lusamine had to say.
"Lusamine, what's the mission for today?" Kiawe asked.
Lusamine yawned as she began, "Why don't we take this in order to help you understand the situation better, Professor Burnet?"
Burnet tiredly nodded as she stepped forward and explained, "Right... Since yesterday when we started feeling low on energy, the level of Ultra Aura power has been vastly plummeting to levels we've never seen before."
"We theroized... That's why we and everybody else besides you all have been feeling rather tired all of a sudden, exhausted would be a better word," continued a sleepy Wicke as she tried to keep her energy up through eating more cookies.
"That's exactly like my dad and Prof. Kukui! But, wait, how come Sarah's human family wasn't affected in the slightest?" Mallow replied in response.
"Perhaps... But, for some reasons, the droppings levels of Ultra Aura power didn't seem to affect certain individuals like children or Pokemon. If I have to guess, in Sarah's case, the power of their heirlooms and Magearna was more than enough to shield her and her entire family from the effects of the energy drain as we speak," Lusamine theorized.
"That's very true," Lana concurred thoughtfully.
"My research also indicates that the reduction in Ultra Aura is caused by a very small Ultra Wormhole which we discovered has opened up in an area not far from here," Burnet continued.
"And, from that... We think that that's where the Ultra Aura power we're somehow losing is being pulled through," Wicke added.
"Being pulled through?" Gladion echoed, already having a bad feeling.
"It's possible that there will be an Ultra Beast of an unknown power, a power that rivals even that of the Ultra Pillars combined, on the other side of the Ultra Wormhole that has such a capability," Burnet went on.
"An Ultra Beast with a power greater than that of all the Ultra Pillars combined? That must be Necrozma, it must be trying to cross through from somewhere in the Ultra Wormhole to steal our Ultra Aura power to regain its original form," Sarah thought.
"She's right, it's been 500 years since Necrozma was heard of ever since its light was stolen and it was sealed away. Seeking out a power strong enough for it to restore its light no matter what the cost could be the most logical thing for it to do," Zossie concurred.
"What exactly is the possibility that it could be Necrozma who will appear from the other side?" Gladion asked.
"If everything we've learned from yesterday leading to this moment is anything to go by, it could be soon. My wife and I were the ones who sealed it away all those years ago and along with Poipole, we both know exactly what it's capable of," Doug replied with Delilah gave an agreeing but worried nod in response to her husband's grim words.
"With his awakening, there's no doubt he'll be coming to this side of the Ultra Wormhole to steal our world's remaining light and Ultra Aura from this side," Delilah confirmed gravely, getting an agreeing and knowing nod from Lusamine.
"With that in mind, we like to get the coordinates on the Ultra Wormhole to see what we all can do to quell the oncoming threat upon us," Burnet finished while mumbling.
"Hey, Faba? Faba!" Wicke called to their colleague, Faba shooting himself awake even for a moment as he was leaning up against a large machine they had just put together to help everyone with their greatest challenge yet.
"Huh?! O-Oh! Oh, yes, thank you, I apologize... Now, us, let's see... The thick cloud cover we're experiencing is getting in the way so it's time for us to use this cloud-busting machine I've just so happened to develop. However, in order for it to work, this would require all of you to combine the power of your Z-Moves to power my invention. That should clear away the clouds, if possible," Faba explained to everybody.
"Our Z-Moves? But, we tried that while training for the Pokemon League but it didn't work out," Ash explained.
Kiawe agreed as he added, "We, Pikachu, and Pyroar couldn't build up enough power when we tried to use them."
"That makes sense; recent research we've uncovered demonstrated that there's a potentially hidden connection between Z-Power and the power of the Ultra Aura," Burnet concluded while continuing to yawn, getting what Ash and Kiawe are saying.
"Really? So, that's why none of us will be able to use Z-Moves right now. Because of the lack of sufficent Ultra Aura power, we won't be able to use any of them let alone one of them at full power," Asha frowned.
Faba nodded, even though he was falling asleep as he added, "But, even if you don't have full power for all of your your Z-Moves eventually, if we're lucky enough to get four of you to input all the power you have, this machine should work, I think..."
"Four Z-Moves with all the power we have? It's not much but it should be enough if we can get the answers we need," Sarah nodded as she turned to Ash, Gladion, and Kiawe. "I know we can all use Z-Moves now but it's best if the most experienced of us take the plunge. Ash, Gladion, Kiawe, want to have a go at it with me?"
"Sure."
"Okay."
"Yeah," the boys in question agreed.
Taking their positions in an arched line while facing Faba's cloud-busting machine, the chosen quartet decided to take their chances using Bloom Doom, Gigavolt Havoc, Continental Crush, and Inferno Overdrive with Hootie, Pyroar, Pikachu, and Lycanroc.
"This is it, guys! Fire when ready!" Sarah called to the boys, Pikachu, Lycanroc, and Pyroar before looking to Hootie as he stood in front of his human mother. "Ready for your first-ever Z-Move, Hootie?"
"Ready when you are, Mommy!" Hootie replied determinedly, giving her a thumbs-up before he braced himself along with his fellow Pokemon companions and their own partners.
"Combine powers! Ready, aim...!" Sarah began as she, Ash, Kiawe, and Gladion activated their Z-Rings and they and their chosen Pokemon performed their chosen Z-Moves for Faba's machine. "Unleash thy fury with Bloom Doom!"
"Gigavolt Havoc! FULL POWER!"
"Inferno Overdrive!"
"Continental Crush!"
Then, Sarah finished as she declared the result of their combined Z-Moves while they converged into a powerful blast, "Continental Inferno Doom Havoc!"
That did the trick; the converged Z-Moves were able to hit the machine and energize it with all the power their users could muster and as a result, much to everyone's surprise and delight, the machine booted up and shot a powerful beam straight at the darkened cloud cover, revealing the evening sky as the day hidden from behind them turned to dusk.
Everyone was amazed by the result as they completed the first step of their operation and Ash and Kiawe thus cried on everyone's behalf, "Whoa/A complete success!"
"Good job, rangers. The machine worked..."
"And, it's all thanks to you," Lusamine and Wicke gratefully thanked in their tired state as they grinned proudly.
"Now, I'll be able to research the location of the Ultra Wormhole," Burnet smiled, relieved as she quickly got to work.
"While we're doing our research and waiting, there's something I want you all to see," Lusamine continued, confusing everybody as she turned to face the Altar of the Sunne.
"Quite recently, in addition to the shrine where King Doug and Queen Delilah were sleeping in months ago, we also discovered new ruins that are located just behind the Altar of the Sunne."
"Huh?" everybody sans Sarah gasped.
"New ruins? Are you sure there are really other ruins behind the Altar, Lusamine?" Sarah questioned, feeling skeptical but just as surprised.
"Yes, I'll show you. Follow me," she nodded, gesturing everybody to follow her as she led them inside the temple that was hidden and recently uncovered behind the altar where they found a hidden catacomb housing a mural depicting Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma being worshipped by the people and Pokemon of Alola amidst the glow of their shared light. "This is it."
Petunia, being held by Delilah, babbled and cooed at the sight before her while Starla, Casper, Mittens, and the dragonets couldn't help but look at them in awe and wonder as they eyed the mural.
"Is that-?!"
"It's Necrozma/The Blinding One!" a convinced Sarah and a surprised Ash called out as Poipole floated up to the depiction of her guardian, knowing that it was defintiely Necrozma on the mural.
"My guardian! It's him, Necrozma, right here... And, that's his symbol I painted earlier, exactly like this one," Poipole confirmed to everybody, despite everyone else not understanding Pokemon speak still.
"That's Necrozma's symbol Poipole drew yesterday," Rotom-Dex recalled.
Zossie nodded, "Yep, no doubt about it; the Blinding One himself with Solgaleo and Lunala many years ago."
"As you can see, this is years, eons even, ago before the Ultra Beast War took place and changed everything for our people from two worlds back then," Dulse added.
"Yeah, that was before your ancestors and Team Eclipse stole Necrozma's light and kick-started everything happening right now years later. Sorry you guys had a rough history back then," Kiawe sympathized, Dulse giving him an appreciative nod as he smiled.
"And, look at all those strange letters written on the mural!" Sophocles pointed out, seeing what was written in a language nobody could understand.
"Those must be ancient characters known only by the people of old!" Rotom-Dex marveled, taking photos of the mural and the characters written on it.
"Do you kids remember the Legend of the Blinding One?" Lusamine asked her children.
"Yes/Of course," replied Lillie and Gladion.
"If we can somehow decrypt these letters and put them together as if they're a puzzle or uncover the answer from them like it's a riddle, we might have a better understanding of the entire legend!"
But, there was no time to think further on that because before they knew it, Gladion's Wrist Com went off and he activated it as Burnet frantically called out, "Rangers, Lusamine, something's wrong! Get back out here, quickly!"
Everyone was surprised by what they just heard but they had to find out what had gotten Burnet wide awake now and feeling flustered as they all rushed out of the ruins as fast as they could before rejoining her while she braced herself for a strange disturbance while looking at the Ultra Aura readings she picked up on her tablet.
"Professor!"
"What's in the ultra zoo now?" Dulse and Zossie asked as they arrived.
"We've managed to locate the Ultra Wormhole! It's opening and it's becoming larger as we speak!" Burnet answered.
"Where is it opening?" Asha questioned.
"Up there, in that direction!" Burnet answered, pointing at the moon.
"The moon?"
"But, why?" blinked a surprised Umbreon and Tai Lung.
"An Ultra Wormhole?!" exclaimed a startled Lusamine, shooting herself awake just as the Ultra Wormhole opened from the moon. "There!"
Realizing that whatever Ultra Beast or one of the Ultra Pillars is about to cross over, Gladion, with a grunt, quickly brought out his Silvally, the eldest Synthetic Pokemon rejoining his brothers as they all came forward and stood at the ready (now having an Ultra Rescue tag on his body). Everybody waited and braced themselves for what was about to come through the Ultra Wormhole until they saw Lunala appearing before them but still in a frightened state, screeching frantically as she was flying within the nighttime sky at a tremendous rate.
"Hey, it's Lunala!"
"No way!" gasped Ash and Pikachu, smiling in remembrance along with much of their fellow Pokemon and the others while the adults were left speechless.
"Lunala, you're here..." Poipole breathed.
"So cool!"
"I can't believe we get to meet yet another Legendary Pokemon!"
"That's awesome! How cool is it that we finally get to meet Lunala up close?" Mallow, Lana, and Sophocles gasped, elated and amazed.
"Amazing, sheer beauty... I'm, I'm so moved to an intensity, that, that's burning no less brightly than an INFERNO OVERDRIVE!" cheered an awestruck yet tearful Kiawe.
"So awesome!"
"Now, that is the best!" Ash and Rotom-Dex praised as the latter eagerly photographed the Moone Pokemon.
But, not everybody was sharing the gang and Rotom-Dex's enthusiasm; Gladion's Silvally remained calm at the sight of Lunala but he felt something was off with its appearance as he began to growl, roar, and tremble in fear and agitation again. His stress, however, was much more apparent which got his brothers worried as they watched him start to thrash about. And, like him, Sarah, her real family along with their other Pokemon and dragons, Zossie, and Dulse also felt uneasy as they looked at Gladion's Silvally and grew tense before looking back at the Ultra Wormhole.
"Brother, he-! What's wrong?!" Silvally cried as he and Tou-Tou tried to help Gladion restrain their panicked eldest brother as he continued to thrash about.
"Bro! Wait, easy! Please! Calm down, you're scaring us!" Tou-Tou added frantically.
"Tou-Tou's right! Calm down, Silvally!" Gladion agreed, knowing what Tou-Tou was thinking despite not understanding Pokemon speak.
"Hey, Gladion! Do you think Lunala's the one who's been absorbing all the power of the Ultra Aura?" Lillie asked her brother who suddenly gasped in shock and realization as he now knew what was coming next and looked at Sarah.
"Sarah! You felt it too, right? You know what's happening, right? There's another one coming! And, you know who it is, right?"
"Huh? Wait, another one?" Ash pondered in surprise as he, Pikachu, and everybody else turned back to the Ultra Wormhole, seeing it crackle with black electricity from whatever entity was coming after Lunala.
"Yeah, I do! It's him! He's on his way and sooner than we thought!" Sarah confirmed with a nod as she and her family braced themselves as she could make out the claws of the one she, they, and Poipole knew very well. "Hang on, everybody! ...HERE HE COMES!"
Then, finally, out of the Ultra Wormhole came the Black Beast and former Blinding One, Necrozma, as he roared at Lunala, "LUNALA! YOU HAVE SOMETHING THAT BELONGS TO ME!"
Everybody gasped in absolute shock at the sight of Necrozma before their eyes; even the Alolan Royal Family couldn't hold back their terror at the sight of the Black Beast finally reemerging after over 500 years, "HE'S BACK!"
"THE BLACK BEAST!"
"NECROZMA!"
"IT'S HIM, HE HAS RETURNED!"
"Guardian! Guardian! No! Don't hurt Lunala, please!" Poipole screamed frantically, seeing Necrozma chasing after Lunala.
First, Lunala suddenly appeared. And, Necrozma, the former Blinding One, is back and in hot pursuit of her! But, what happens next? We'll find out as the journey continues...
