Dipper started writing in a journal: It had been a year since me and my sister Mabel had been to Gravity Falls. I'm looking forward to hopefully having just a quirky summer. I don't want the world to be at stake again. Something tells me we will have only minor problems to deal with.
Mabel asked, "Do you like your new journal, Dipper?"
Dipper chuckled, putting down his pen, and said, "Yes, I appreciate this gift, sis."
Mabel hugged Waddles and said, "I hope that Candy and Gruntilda have returned, too."
Dipper said, "They did promise to meet you again. Especially after Weirdmageddon."
The twins and their pig got off the bus and were immediately greeted by Stanley.
Mabel hugged Stanley. Dipper was grabbed and bear-hugged by Stanley rather forcefully. Dipper just took it awkwardly. Stanford then came outside and gave Dipper a loving pat on the head. Wendy was shortly behind and swapped hats with Dipper. He had hung onto Wendy's fuzzy hat. Dipper was reunited with his Pine Tree hat. It just felt right. The group returned to the Mystery Shack, where Soos was already there. The 'S' to the sign immediately fell.
Dipper and Mable went into their attic room. It was like nothing had changed.
"Kept it just how you dudes like it," Soos quipped, "We should have a Welcome Back to The Falls party for you dudes."
Mabel squealed with glee, "Yes, let's do that!"
Dipper said, "Let's wait a day so we can settle in first."
Soos said, "You got it, dudes!"
He left the room, coming back downstairs. Stanley put his fez hat on as he sat on the chair in the living room.
Stanford was reorganizing the trinkets and treasures they had collected in their travels on the table.
Soos approached Stanford, sat down, and asked, "So, how was your trip, dude?"
Stanford replied, "Oh, it was quite the adventure. Well, it's like many little adventures interwoven into a larger adventure, but you get the idea. Oh, I got you something. Maguett mentioned you like this thing called anime."
Stanford dug through the box of trinkets and pulled out a statue of a generic-looking character in a box.
Stanford said, "I found this in Japan."
Soos took the box reverently and said, "The Japanese exclusive Fre-kia statue. Thanks, Mr. Pines!"
Stanford replied, "You're quite welcome, dude."
Soos chuckled.
Later, Wendy was at the cash register in the gift shop, reading a newspaper, when someone walked in.
Wendy said, without even glancing up, with a bit of sarcasm, "Welcome to the Mystery Shack Gift Show, where you can bring an oddity to your home. Right now, you can buy two chains for the price of three and get a third one free."
An evil chuckle sent a chill down Wendy's spine. She immediately looked up at whoever walked in. Only to see Gideon standing there, menacingly.
"You shouldn't be here," Wendy said, grabbing a broom.
"Wait," Gideon said, "I just wanted to see Mabel again."
"She's not interested in seeing you again," Wendy said.
Wendy hopped over the counter and, while poking Gideon with the broom, said, "Now, shoo! Shoo!"
Gideon whined, "Fine, I'm going, I'm going!"
Gideon ran off when Wendy stopped. Wendy stood at the doorway to make sure Gideon was away.
"But heed my words," Gideon said, turning back to Wendy, "I will gain her heart in love no matter what."
Wendy scoffed, "Whatever, Gideon."
Wizard Bill approached Wendy with a few packs of sodas and asked, "What was that all about?"
Wendy replied, "Gideon Gleeful is trying to break his restraining order again."
Wendy then turned to Wizard Bill and asked, "Who do you have those sodas for?"
Wizard Bill answered, "Stanley texted me to get him some."
Wendy said, "Cool, I'll show you where the fridge is."
Then she walked back inside with Wizard Bill shortly behind. Mable and Dipper came into the kitchen just as Wendy was.
"Oh hey," Wendy chirped, "Dipper and Mable are here."
Then she looked at Wizard Bill coming. It was the first time she caught a glimpse of his eyes. She became apprehensive.
"Oh no," Wendy said, then she turned to the twins and said, "I think the new guy might secretly be Bill Cipher."
Dipper sighed exhaustedly, "Of course he is."
Mable said, "Hey, wait a minute, why would Grunkle Stan let this guy in?"
"Because he was tricked," Wendy said, "Obviously."
"I don't think so," Mable said, "Maybe we should just watch what he does. For all we know, he could be a weird kid who happens to look like Bill."
Wizard Bill entered the room and said, "Wow, this place is pretty nice."
"Wait a minute," Mable muttered, "Shouldn't the unicorn hair keep Bill Cipher out of the Mystery Shack?"
Wizard Bill put the sodas on the counter. Then, he was immediately flung out of the house. He lay on the ground, pretty dazed.
"I put the barrier back up," Soos said, "better safe than sorry, right dudes?"
"Thanks, Soos," Dipper said.
Mable rushed outside to check to see if the young man was alright. She gently Wizrd Bill awake. She took notice of just how handsome the teen was. Then her blood ran cold when she saw his eyes—they were gold with narrow pupils. She shook it off for the time being. He needed her help.
"Ow," He mumbled. Mable very carefully helped Wizard Bill sit up.
Mabel asked, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah," Wizard Bill said, then he made eye contact with Mabel, and his cheeks turned pink. "Now that you're here."
Mabel chuckled nervously, but then she said, "I'm Mabel Pines."
"William Lowine," Wizard Bill said, "But my friends call me Bill."
Mabel asked, trying desperately to change the subject, "What's up with your eyes?"
"It's a rare genetic disorder," Bill explained, "It's called Narrow Eye Syndrome. It's just cosmetic. I'm perfectly healthy otherwise."
"I see," Mabel said.
Mabel helped him stand up. Bill smiled and said, "Thanks, Mabel, you're a superstar."
Mable said, letting him go, "No problem, Bill."
His watch beeped, and he said, "Gotta go, I have to get back to work."
Bill rushed off, and Mabel was left conflicted.
"On the one hand," Mabel said to herself, "this guy is acting pretty different from Bill Cypher, and he's so cute. But on the other hand, I should ignore Red Flags this time. He'll have to prove he's a different person than Bill Cypher."
Mabel went back inside, just thinking things over.
