They were in space. Weiss Schnee was in space. She was on a floating rock in space. If she hadn't pinched herself earlier, Weiss was pretty sure she'd be going insane. Dust lost all of its properties the moment it left Remnant's atmosphere, but then again, this wasn't Remnant. She sat on the floor of the mission room in a fetal position, with her eyes glued to the glass dome that exposed the vast darkness of space, and the blue and green planet that must've been Earth. Weiss rocked herself backwards and forward slowly, her eyes darting towards each speck that must've been a star. She was in space, the first person from Remnant to even make it into space even.

This felt like a bad science fiction novel, with too many ideas forced into a single book. Superheroes from another dimension, somehow being in space, not being able to find a way home. That was too much for Weiss' mind, and it was starting to give her a headache. Someone placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Weiss, are you okay?" Dinah said with a low voice. The taller woman was kneeling beside her with a concerned expression etched onto her face.

"Peachy, I'm perfectly fine." Weiss croaked, tearing her eyes away from the clear dome to meet Dinah's. "It's not everyday you find out that you're in space, which should be impossible." She said that sarcastically.

Dinah smiled and sat on the floor beside her. Their shoulders touched briefly. "Humanity reached the moon a few decades ago." She said casually.

"Let me guess, it's whole and not shattered into a bunch of pieces?" Weiss sighed. The metal floors felt cold, even through her baggy clothing.

Dinah's nervous smile told Weiss everything she needed to know. That made the white haired girl bury her face in her hands. She should've prepared herself for more changes, this was a completely different world after all. She doubted this would be the last surprise that would come her way here. This would make anyone back home jealous. Too bad she didn't have any way to brag about this to her team. The first woman from Remnant to be in space, the first human from Remnant to be in space, the first huntress in space. Weiss could already see the headlines now.

It was bittersweet.

After what felt like an eternity in the mission room, that was mostly Weiss' fault since she found herself frozen on the floor for at least half an hour, they finally continued their tour, albeit with shakier legs. It made Weiss uncomfortable knowing that she was stuck in a space station of all places. What if the glass dome broke? What if there was a mechanical error that caused all life support systems to fail?

Dinah didn't look worried, instead she walked with a confidence that Weiss had only seen in Yang, and Winter. The blonde had an easy going smile like Yang, and her blonde hair was similar to the brawler from Remnant, but the way she walked was more like Winter. Each step was precise and calculated, done with a purpose. It was uncanny really.

"Did any of my belongings happen to come with me when I arrived?" Weiss asked bluntly. While she could dance around the issue, and find a nicer, more polite way to ask, Weiss felt that a direct questioning would work the best with Dinah.

Dinah nodded. "Your sword, I think you said it was named Myrtenaster." She butchered the pronunciation, but Weiss remained silent. "Along with what you called your scroll, and some Dust crystals, along with what was in your sword's revolver."

A heavy weight that sat on Weiss' shoulder instantly disappeared. Myrtenaster was here along with some Dust! This was perfect, with her limited supply of Dust she could grow more with her aura and a special Schnee glyph. It'd take longer, but it would ensure her a larger supply over a period of time.

"Will they be returned to me?" Weiss narrowed her eyes cautiously. Even if Myrtenaster was here, it'd be useless if she wasn't able to wield her beloved weapon.

"Of course, they belong to you." Dinah answered with her usual relaxed smile. "Batman should be done analyzing them by now. He performed a few tests, just in case to make sure Dust isn't harmful to humans from Earth."

Batman was still a stupid name. What kind of criminal was going to be scared by a man who named himself after a flying rat? He may as well call himself ManBat, or Flying Ratman.

"Dust is useless when it's past Remnant's atmosphere, and it can only be activated by someone with aura." Weiss said with a small shrug. "In his hands it may as well be a pretty paperweight." A half lie, but they didn't need to know that any large explosion could also cause her Dust to react badly.

"I see." Dinah's expression never changed, but she did wince a little. "I'm sure he'll appreciate any information you'd like to share with him. Batman can be intense sometimes, especially if he believes someone is a threat."

"That's good." Weiss followed Dinah as they turned into another hallway. "It's better to be prepared than to be taken off guard."

Off guard like they had been at the Fall of Beacon. Weiss still had nightmares about that night, even months later. They only calmed when she poured herself out on a piano at the Schnee Mansion, much to Whitley and Father's annoyance. Klein was always her number one fan, clapping after every song, even if she had made numerous mistakes as she figured out the lyrics and melody. Writing music was therapeutic.

"He'd like you." Dinah teased with a large smile. She really did look like an older Yang, but with more elegance and blue eyes.

Weiss gave her a small one in return before turning her attention back to the narrow hallway filled with countless doors. She was a professional when it came to pissing people off, and Batman would be no exception if he happened to get on her nerves. It was the Schnee blood that ran through her veins.

"I really doubt that."

A/N

First chapter of the year! It was a bit on the shorter side sadly, but I hope it had its enjoyable moments.

I hope I'll be able to give this story the same treatment I did Hero or Huntress with constant updates. And hopefully it'll be better than the JL x RWBY movies.

Time to figure out which Jessica Cruz design to use.
